These guys had my car for a month for minor repairs, they told me 3 times they had gotten the wrong parts. They told me they were trying to hurry up and fix my car by the end of the day and when I to went to pick up my car the battery was dead. They didnt do what I asked them to do and now my horn doesnt work anymore. They never return phone calls and they when you call to check on your car, they say they are closed on a friday and leaving early on a Wednesday. I had read another persons post about them and I disregarded it. Dumb mistake. Go somewhere else.

Great job!! I had to have the camshafts on my car replaced. Was quoted nearly $2000.00 by the dealership, I took it to Clars and Ed got it done for $1200.00, plus spark plugs and oil change, they even washed my car! The Car is driving beautifully. Oh, also, work was done on time, actually, a day early by what I asked them to do. Thanks Ed and team for a great job!!!

Took my truck in to get a screeching sound fixed. I assumed it was a bad u joint. Sent it in specifically to get the screech to stop. Also asked to have him give the truck a once over for anything else that needed repair. After dropping it off I received a call a few hours later and they told me it wasn’t the u joint it was the drive shaft and listed off a couple other issues with the truck. Said they could fix it all for around $750. I come to pick up the truck 4 days later when they say it’s done, come to find they are charging me almost $1400 and when I asked about the number he quoted over the phone he says “i don’t know where you heard that number?” I go to drive the truck away AND THE SCREECH IS STILL THERE!!! Extremely unsatisfied. Will not be returning to clar’s.

Made a appointment to get work done and they called the night before and said they couldn’t do it. Didn’t even try to reschedule or anything just said there employee that was going to do it had something come up. Would be nice if they were at least professional about it and try to reschedule and apologize. But nothing just a plain old phone call saying they couldn’t do it.

Took a 1999 Suburban LS K1500 4x4 to have the oil cooling hoses, intake gasket, and rear main replaced. They did the work and this has stopped my oil leak, but in the process they damaged an exhaust gasket that they tried to make me pay parts and labor on (I got them to fix it without paying, which I feel is fair.)I very, very rarely drive this truck, so it took a couple of weeks to realize the cruise control and A/C no longer work after getting the vehicle back from them.I have yet to call them about this, but I feel that the truck should not have been returned before evaluating off the the systems they had to disassemble to do the requested repairs.

The owner whom I at first loved helping me with my car, but then he had it for 6 months and the main reason for it being there was not fixed and he only wanted to talk about my car with my ex not me whom would go in regularly to ask questions about it; hed simply ignore me until my ex walked in like a sexist pig.

Brought my car in because it wouldnt start. He had it for two months before he fixed it. I paid around 500 dollars and drove it home. It wouldnt start when I got there and the engine light said it was the same problem. I brought it back because I had already paid him. Another month went by with zero progress so I took it somewhere else with 500 dollars less. Dont take anything that isnt a giant American car there because he has no idea what he is doing. He doesnt communicate whats going on, doesnt answer and closes early. If he says he will call you, he wont. If he says he should have it done soon that mean at least a month. Horrible experience.

Ed left me on hold for over an hour I finally hung up after u heard him laughing and joking with his family members..This was at a time my mom was dying after the Dr at Rocky Mountain nursing facility gave her the wrong medication I had exhausted all my resources to move to Tooele from Oregon to be next to her during her final and was homeless living in a tent.I was told by my bishops councillors Ed Hanson who owned Clars auto was the transient guru for Tooele 1st ward the was the man to help me so I could get out of my current living situation. After I told him I had to write a check to continue to camp in campground that was possibly going to bounce and could use 20 bucks to put in my account and or some help so I didnt have to camp illegally he told me to talk to him on Sunday which was almost 5 days away. He then hung up the phone after I told him how wrong it was for him in his calling with the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints to tell me to continue camping illegally.This is wrong and Im writing to let everyone from this community of which the Pratt family of which Im proud to be has done more for Tooele county in growing buisness, service work and donations than most ppl know. Everyone needs a little help now and then.

The only reason this gets two stars is because they located parts for my specific vehicle relatively quick and relatively well priced; HOWEVER, the service is substantially sub par. Time tables for completion of vehicles is a shot in the dark and the quality of the workmanship leaves much to be desired. This outweighs the price bit so much that Im tempted to make this a one star. Once payment has been made to this business, they will take their time in completing the job and always on their own terms (months/weeks, not days). ex. The part is on the floor of the shop, (we) just have not got around to putting it in the car..., and the only reason this information was received is because I called to inquire an update on the status of my vehicle. The business owners and employees take things very personal and their customer service is non-existent.Unfortunately, this local shop does not deserve the business of any locals nor that of any unfortunate passer-by.Upon concluding this review, I am reminded of my experience with the business and have since changed the amount of stars given.

Took my daughters car to have it looked at. They did a good job & fixed the problem quickly, and for only $85. The only complaint I have is that they didnt call first, as they had agreed. They fixed the car without seeking approval first. I would have had them fix the car anyway, but they should have called first.

I took my truck here to get fixed because AutoZone reccommended this place. The mechanic told me that it would take a couple days to fix. They hardly ever answer the phone and they never EVER call you back when they say they are going to. I just got off the phone (surprisingly someone picked up) and they said that they didnt know when it would be done. Just a plain flat dont know. They have had it for TWO weeks when they said they would only have it for MAX three days! We dropped it off on Monday last week, he ordered the part on Tuesday. Then nothing happened. On Monday we went in (because they didnt answer the phone) and he said he would put the part on that afternoon. We called the next day. He had just pulled it into the bay (according to him, no idea if he ACTUALLY did). Now, here it is, Friday afternoon, and I get a dont know when the truck will be fixed. I find that unacceptable from a place who is supposed to be in the business of knowing when the car will be fixed. Dont take your car here.

I usually dont vent even when things arent 100% but took car in to get water pump replaced, Now I have an oil leak and my windshield washer tank is leaking and or cracked!
