They don’t care. I’ve been contacting corporate and they do absolutely nothing either. It’s beyond sad. I’ve been waiting for 2 weeks for this to get resolved. Two weeks after I moved in there was a leak in my bathroom right above my toilet that took them a week to fix..then while doing that, my tub was broken, took them 3 months to fix. This mold, it’s still not been resolved and it’s going on over 2 weeks. My garbage disposal (which I use every now and then) breaks every 2 weeks. My kitchen light, I asked for them to fix it since it was flickering a ton, all they said was that they would fix it but it would still flicker. Like what?! This is beyond the worst experience.

I don’t know what the other tenants are experiencing but I’m not experiencing it. I can’t use 45% of my apartment because water keeps getting into my apartment. My master bedroom carpet and walls are mildewed and molded and has been for about a year now and nothing has been done about it. Every time it rains my master bedroom floor gets wet and my living room gets flooded. Yet and still I have to pay full rent. My space isn’t even livable for my children which by the way are all under 5. My family is living out of our living room and the other bedroom. I wouldn’t advise moving to the retreat, especially not on the bottom floor.

In a world full of corporate overlords, Jody, the office manager is a blessing, and a real person. She understands that her job may be a 9-5 but to the residents, this is our lives. The roof over our familys heads. Cant speak for upper management, but she has been fighting the good fight for the families that live in her complex, during the pandemic. She is the realest person who you will meet. I dont know why it took them so long to put her in charge, but her promotion hasnt changed who she is, or how much she cares. As long a Jody is in charge this is a wonderful place to live.

Do not stay here I repeat do not stay here the water is always cut off and they charge you for things that you don’t even get they rip you off out of your money they lied and stole money from me I will never ever recommend this place to anyone. They have false advertisement on there they cabinets are not upgraded the leaks was bad Monday responded to it for two months

The retreat at western hills is a family friendly as well as pet friendly place too live. The property has improved tremendously since the new owners have taken over. The ladies in the office do what they can too help you when it comes too any problems, etc. the maintenance has improved as well. I always see them out picking up the grounds or working too improve apartments up too the latest renovations they are making. Would recommend checking them out.

Since we were considering our move and we contacted the retreat we love how professional and understanding they have been. We moved to Texas from Florida because we were looking fora new start and we couldn’t have picked a better place to live than the retreat. We love it here and so does our fur baby Toby.

This has been my favorite apartment, and the staff are amazing! I had the pleasure of working with Jody and Whitney at my old complex, and they’re both rockstars!Maintenance is quick to fix any problems and there’s even a little “Paw Park” for my Aussie!

Can’t seem to ever answer the phone, I came by called and watched the woman look at the phone from outside . Paid $50 for an application fee when nothing is available, can’t get a refund.

My gfs bathtub had a whole.... fixed it. 2 weeks later a bigger whole. Water leaked into bedroom closet and leaking under sink.Work order put in no one came to fix it. its been days. Office never answers the phone. Trash management...and wanna charge almost 1k a month

Dont go anywhere near this property, the pricing isnt worth the headaches. Their office staff cant run an office properly or answer/return phone calls, and no one knows how to communicate anything with tenants.Tenants are shouting and fighting at all hours of the night, plus loud music constantly. People (both tenants and non) dig through the dumpsters at night and leaving their mess scattered around. No one cleans up after their pets in the dog park or in any of the grass around property, and Ive been attacked a few times by people that refuse to put their aggressive dogs on leashesThe units arent worth the rent price. Doors that dont close fully, door locks that dont work, water-damaged cabinets from the 80s, cracked windows, bedrooms that dont have ceiling lights, and outlets that dont work.Now theyre trying to charge for rent and late fees on my unit AFTER Ive turned in my keys and moved out. There is so much wrong with this property and the management, it just isnt worth it to live there

When we were looking for apartments to move into the very first time my husband seen The Retreat and loved them! After talking to Jody and looking over floor plans we knew this was the place for us. The staff is so friendly and sweet. They were also patient with us when we had a problem. Not many places would have been. The neighbors are great also. It’s a quiet place. The gym is great, and we can’t wait to barbecue out by the pool! So glad we picked The Retreat to make it our home!

Weve been living here for a month now. I love how light and bright our apartment is, and Im thrilled that there is no carpeting in the central living area Its super quiet here, and my neighbors are so friendly. Compared to the place we used to live in, this is a real palace. I agree with the people who mentioned that maintenance is a little slow at times. The maintenance issues weve had are not things that can be resolved instantly. I like the fact that the app allows me to see the status of my requests, so I feel reassured that I havent been forgotten. The people in the office are wonderful.After two years, my previous review still holds true. Im so impressed with the improvements that new management has made - and the improvements are continuing. I have the nicest neighbors, and maintenance is on top of things whenever we submit maintenance requests. I cant rave enough about this place.

I have been at The Retreat for a little over 4 months now and I have loved every minute! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the property is very quiet and well-maintained. The location is convenient to just about everything you would want to do in Temple with access to major highways just around the corner, great shopping, and restaurants close by.The value you get at The Retreat is unbelievable - spacious rooms and amazing amenities. So glad I found this wonderful place to call home.

I just recently took a tour of this community, and Im impressed with everything! As soon as i walked in I was greeted with smiling faces, the women in the office were so helpful and answered every question I had. The community was beautiful. I really like the upgrades that they are doing! I cant wait to go jump in the pool and barbecue with my family! I know I am going to love being here!

Worst place I have ever lived. They come up with random charges to charge you every month that they failed to mention when you ask them about utilities. Then your AC goes out and they refuse to do anything whatsoever to help you. Instead you go almost a week with out AC since the manager won’t answer her phone and she refuses to help you. Instead they send up a handy man who can’t speak English, Not a AC, tech a handy man. Absolutely the worst place I have ever lived. Also there are to apartments that run a hotel for drug dealers and you have to listen to their super loud music all night and deal with their fights that break out in the parking lot.

This apartment is awful. It may look nice on the outside but it’s way overpriced. The management doesn’t care about you and won’t fix anything. If you ask them to or if you bring up a problem they’ll just blame the problem on you and refuse to do their job. They’ll add extra fees to your monthly rent and not hold up their end of the lease. Oh and the pet fee doesn’t cover any damages done by your pet so if your animal accidentally pees on the carpet get ready to pay $900 dollars for a carpet replacement.

Since I’ve been a tenant here, I absolutely love the complex . Its well kept and clean and quiet. I also love that its a pet friendly apartment building and that it wasnt a issue for me to have my pitbull puppy living with me . Another thing that makes these apartments so welcoming is that for every holiday there is always decorations and party or event in which residents are encouraged to participate in.Luckily for me the apartments are only a few minutes away from my job at the hospital on 31st Street and whenever i need to travel on the highway, I35 is literally down the road and its never been an issue with noise or traffic unless it’s during the busy hours while everyone is trying get to work or home from work .

I wish I had never choose to rent at The Retreat. The office staff was not up front about about all the costs when I was inquiring. They charge a water fee, a gas fee, a sewer fee, a pest fee, and a trash fee every month. They have been unresponsive to calls about air conditioning not working even when the outside temperature is over 90 degrees. The management would not return my calls and does not want to spend money on after hours HVAC repair. They did not offer to pay for a hotel or move me another apartment where the air conditioning was working. They ignored my calls. Do not make the same mistake I did and choose to rent here.

I love the retreat! We moved in when I was 37 weeks pregnant and wanted a nice and safe place to start a family and it just felt like home here. Staff and maintenance here are so understanding and patient. We are so glad we moved here weve had no problem and its a beautiful place to live.

I have been living at these apartments for over a year, before the new management took over. In the beginning it was a little rough, but once the New Management took over they made it a HOME! The staff has always been helpful and maintenance has been on point. The upgrades that they have been doing to the ENTIRE PROPERTY looks amazing and has made this a better place! I recommend these apartments to anyone that asks.

My family have called The Retreat home now for 1.5 years. We signed our first lease shortly before the property underwent a change in management and the difference between the two administrations is unbelievable. They are courteous, professional, and expedient when with dealing tenant concerns.They have brought a sense of community to the complex by planning family fun events, show tenant appreciation (ex: passing out free breakfast), and have been diligent about upgrading and improving facilities and units.

Ive lived there for a year and renewed my lease. The upgrades have made the place even nicer. Its quiet and off the beaten path. The staff is helpful. Ive had no issues and have enjoyed living here. It is my retreat.

We were thinking of moving to temple, so I stopped in for a tour. Staff was super nice and energetic. The maintenance even greeted us out on Property. While on my tour... Residents stopped us telling us all the great things about this place. When residents are raving about it... I know its good, because beck... they already live there. I totally love Ashley and the great vibe her and all her staff brings. I will definitely be making this place my home.

The grounds and facilities are kept clean every day. The pool area is lovely. The paw park is a great place to let my fur baby out for a run! I live alone here and could not feel safer anywhere else... I always recommend them!

Such a great place! The management is so nice and caring. They towed my Handicap mother’s car. She had been parking in the same spot for 30 days and they didn’t say anything just towed it. Property management is in need here. If she was parking in the wrong handicap spot they should of let an elderly lady know. Instead they said they didn’t call for the vehicle to be towed. Tow trucks don’t just drive through lots of apartments. I believe this complex is being poorly run. Please read and take note if you’re an elderly person, because there was no sign saying you can not park there. This could have been remedied with just a knock on the door and an explanation.

I absolutely LOVE the ladies in the office. 100% nice all the time and did everything they could to get me into an apartment. So lucky I got this place and so happy I decided to stay here. One star is over rating this place. My experience here was the worst ever!!! Where to begin. Bugs, water shut off constantly, bed bugs, fleas, neighbors smoke weed constantly in the apartments, people allowed on the property after after being notified to leave, that harassed individuals. And what does management do......NOTHING. I wrote and spoke with the current management about this several times, only to be told that we need to continue to call the police. WHAT!!!! How many times do a tenant have to call the police before action is properly taken. This was ridiculous. Gladly we decided to move and broke our lease. Currently we are seeking legal action against this management company. What Ive men here isnt the half. Renters....beware. The units are decent, nothing against that. But if you make a complaint, keep a record of it. Make note of ever conversation you have with Ashley or anyone in the office. Im sure some people do have no issues here, but it wasnt the case with me. Oddly enough, in my new place, no bed bugs, no fleas, no bugs period. No loud, drug smoking neighbors, no water shut-off, and a management company that will take actions immediately when necessary. I have been here for over a year and love it here. It is quiet and the apartment is great. The only problem I have encountered is maintenance seems to have gotten slower, other than that it is a great place to live and I would recommend it to my friends. This is an amazing community. So many great residents. A great pool area and new gym. The staff is great.

This apartment complex fails to provide adequate amenities, such as hot water or even water at all. Noise complaints are never addressed, and maintenance requests take over a week or two to be inspected. In the last 2 months, I have showered at other places rather than my own home for lack of hot water or water at all. The complex is under new management every 2 months and it was for this reason that I waited 3 months for a new dishwasher. The complex is now more worried with improving the cosmetics of their building rather than ensuring every resident has basic amenities. You get exactly what you pay for with these apartments, which is not much.

This is an amazing place to live. The staff is super friendly and have the most fun.

This place is the worst place anybody could consider living in. The manager doesn’t acknowledge anybody and doesn’t respect residents. She loves to go on a break as soon as she sees people coming in.. a lazy bum if you ask me, definitely shows. Maintenance doesn’t work at all, in fact they take a week-2 weeks to even fix anything and right after, it’s worse than before they touched it. I hope this place shuts down. It’s all good once you’re being toured of the place but it’s full of poop from dogs, nasty pool water, no hot showers and mold as soon as you walk in. Not worth the price and definitely not worth the stay. If you’re gonna spend $800+ on an apartment go somewhere better. This place will give you nothing but stress and not make you feel at home at all. The old management was way better than this one unfortunately. 1 star is just being nice.. 0 ratings.

Its a nice and quiet apartment. All of my neighbors are nice and everyone cleans up the trash. I have a one bedroom and its pretty roomy. Not much noise from upstairs neighbor. I thought it was bad the police were always over but they literally just ride around so i guess its safe. The gym could use some weights but who cares right.

The Retreat at Western Hills is a nice quiet community located in a nice part of Temple. It isnt very far from anything in town. The staff in the office are very nice. The apartments are spacious and comfortable as well. I have recommended this place to others and I will continue to do so.

This is the first apartment my husband and I have ever lived in and I cant really complain too much. The water gets turned off if theyre doing a toilet or bathtub installation, but I think thats pretty normal. Any issues weve had are addressed as soon as we put in a work order. Loved Kari in the front office, she was such a nice lady. Sad to see her go. Its a great first apartment.

RUN RUN RUN far away from this place! DO NOT believe the 5 star reviews! They offered ppl a discount on their rent if they gave a 5 star review. Lived here for a year from Dec 2016 to Dec 2017. Totally and completely whitewashed apartment! Looks nice at first sight but the longer you are there, the more problems you will start to notice. Everything was broken, including the mailboxes, so we had to go all the way to the post office everyday just to check if we had any mail. The hot water was always off, the refrigerator leaked the entire time that we were there, AND we even had mice! Pest control was supposed to come but of course they never did. And the police were always at the complex every day! By far the worst place I have ever lived! All of the staff that I encountered were very nice and friendly, that is the only positive thing that I have to say about this place.

Easy access and very convenient location in Temple, TX. A very good experience with the maintenance department. A+++ place to live.

The Retreat at Western Hills is a really nice community with beautiful floor plans. They recently changed owners and management companies (who I know from experience are awesome at improving communities and making them even more beautiful) so I look forward to seeing great changes in the very near future.

This place is a dump. The land lord is a slum lord. My sister been through hell and back with these people. Never, Never, Never rent here. The projects in Chicago is better than this. They need to fire the phon Maintenance Crew and dump the Landlord. My sister cant even wash her ass cause there is no hot water. The place is a Dump.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. The water is constantly being turned off. Our neighbors have had issues with pests. We have had multiple issues with management. Plus we have had 2 of our cars towed. One without any notice from the apartment.

Been staying here for a couple months I love the people at the front office they are always so nice. The area is extremely quiet and that parking is great. Neighbors are friendly, maintenance comes always when there is an emergency fast and quick, they are also friendly as well and keeps you updated with problems.

I know that there has been issues in the past with the hot water but the new owners/management have fixed that issue. Our hot water is working great. The management has been great with having parties for us and thats something we havent had before. Anything i need the staff is always there to help me. Highly recommend.

I have lived here since September 2016. The size of the one bedroom is perfect for me. Any time I have had a maintenance issue it has been resolved in a timely manner. The only suggestion I would make is that it would be nice to be informed if a package is delivered for us. 99% of the time I am expecting packages and track them, but there have been occasions that something was delivered (a gift) that I didn’t know to look for. I felt rude responding to a friend asking me if I got something and saying that I didn’t know I did. I know that’s a huge undertaking for the office staff, but I know I wouldn’t be the only one that would appreciate it!

We have lived here for a couple of months. So far its been one of the best apartments weve lived at. I would recommend someone to live here if asked.

When we first moved here everything was good. We saw on the reviews of a reoccurring water issue. However these reviews were over 10 months old and we were told time and time again that this issue had been resolved. 10 months later...the same issue is still happening. The complex is constantly working on the water lines and leaving its residents without water....and often times when the water is running...its cold and there is no hot water. Also there seems to be a huge issue with wasps, bee and other insects at this complex. Our neighbors are frequently fighting and littering in the parking lot. Weve also seen the police lined up and down the parking lot at least once a week obviously responding to calls at the complex. The pool is filthy...They also failed to tell a woman drowned in the pool at point. Management is hit or miss..... so all in all I wouldnt recommend moving to these apartments.

Been living here for over 2 years now and was in winter time when I first moved in. Just had a baby and there was no heat. Severe water leak in ceiling that damaged the carpet. Over the years Ive noticed that living in back, it sometimes it takes forever to get hot water if your lucky to get any because these apartments arent updated like others. The water heater in the front. The staff never takes the time to inform tenants when water will be shut off and it happens frequently. I was informed by an office person that the maintenance would finish work order and no one ever came back to finish the order. They closed the order without finishing the job. I had even attempted to call office to check on status because I hadnt been contacted back and never received a return call. Pest control is charged every month and they only come every 3 months. They dont even spray around. I watched the person put a few things in cabinet and leave. It is overpriced and poor service all the way around. These people do not take the time to satisfy the tenants.*Update* maintenance issue was resolved but the maintenance did such a poor job at installing a dishwasher that I went to open it and the whole front in popped out. My husband had to go back and fix it. It looked like they didnt even screw the dishwasher in right.Now they arent even honoring our contract where it says in writing they would give us $250 off rent this month of January. We had talked to an office person towards the end of December about it and they had said it be there when we paid rent on first and it wasnt. Now getting the run around about it. This place isnt worth the trouble. They just want to take advantage of people and not do their job.

Me husband and I just recently moved in and we love it here! The apartment is perfect size for the two of us! I really love how we have carpet in the bedrooms and lots of windows!
