YouFit recently changed ownership due to a near bankruptcy due to COVID-19. My wife had a gym training membership that was not being used due to the epidemic. During this time, we decided to cancel the membership but were told that the existing gym training credits would not expire as a courtesy. However, we recently tried to use the credits and were told that the credits had expired and that they would not honor their word since ownership had changed. Since management cannot keep to their promise, I have cancelled my membership entirely. This is a word of warning to any members.---Update: The manager had called me to advise that since there are no notes by the person that made the commitment, they will not honor their word. These people are horrible.

0 stars. Quite surprised that they make people come in to cancel their membership due to signature needed. The only concession offered was to mail, which of course adds a cost on top of the $10 cancellation fee charged even if cancelling after your month has been paid for. For a company claiming to be about peoples health, their cancellation policy sure seems to say otherwise. Once I am comfortable with joining a gym again, it certainly will not be Youfit.

The gym at this location was great and had no problems with it. However, I did sign up at a location off of Hillsborough in which I cancelled my membership in June of 2020 during the height of COVID. After reviewing my most recent credit card statement, I started noticing a charge from Crunch fitness totaling up to ~$100 over the course of a month. I have never stepped foot into a Crunch Fitness and certainly never joined the club. When talking with Crunch manager, I was informed that they took over all YouFit clients. I was never informed of 1. YouFit on Hillsborough was closing, 2. my membership would be reactivated, 3. my membership would be transfered to another company. From my understanding, YouFit at the Hillsborough location has sold my personal information and credit card information to another company. This is a horrible business practice and more so, this is theft. Not even a single form of communication has been sent to myself from YouFit or Crunch to inform this change. Now that society is starting to become more normalized I would like to join a gym but after this fraudulent behavior from YouFit, I will not be rejoining this gym. To make matters worse, you can not talk to anyone to rectify the situation as YouFit representatives tell me to contact Crunch as it is no longer their problem. I just wanted to share this experience for all members and potential members to be aware that their information may be shared to other companies and can result in financial losses. I encourage any corporate member to shed some light on this matter. As of right now, I just feel robbed.

Unfortunately had to make the decision to cancel my gym membership due to a location not being near where I am moving. Jaliene (maybe spelled different) was quick, friendly, and did not push any renewal or “freezing” of my membership. The whole process was painless and she made my experience very simple! Wish every gym was customer obsessed like this one felt like talking to a friend!P.S. I know going in to cancel sucks but at least you aren’t paying anything more than $10

Nice gym. Polite employees. Last I checked there is a pandemic still going on. Maybe remind the guests to wipe down the machines when they are done. I lost track counting g how many people were not doing that.

After joining just before the COVID - 19 pandemic hit I continued to pay and remain a member to wait and see, but after months and months of paying in full and not attending I requested to cancel. Since an in-person cancellation was not possible and in person post office was not either I emailed. I called. After MONTHS of this I got an email back apologizing and after a few more weeks, a refund of those months. I was told Id be put on a $5 a month pause. After one month I was charged again in full and again called, emailed, and waited. After three more months I got another apology and a partial refund. I asked to cancel again. No reply. Months and countless emails later, no reply. Until now. Now I get aggressive emails from what seems to be corporate that if I do not pay what is said to now be owed I will be billed and billed and billed again. No name or ID number on the emails, just misspellings and aggressive language. Seriously, I knew the company was struggling but this is beyond appalling and such a disappointment. I sure hope taking advantage of people during a GLOBAL PANDEMIC if worth it.

Gym is fine, cancellation policy is asinine. I have paid nine months without using the gym at all because of COVID19, then I was out of town, and then moved, and still get stuck with an additional $35 to pay after canceling bc of their policy (which also doesn’t let you cancel over the phone).

They have THE WORST customer service.I was charged for my membership through the COVID-19 shutdown.I contacted them via email, an acceptable form of contact per their marketing email, and just never got a response. Contacted them on Facebook, another acceptable form of contact per them, and didnt get a response until I followed up a second time. Was finally told I could send in my cancellation via mail and get a refund for those months. Cancellation was processed, but no refund ever came. Followed up again, never heard back. Truly unconscionable when consumers everywhere had compromised incomes and were struggling through hard times.

I enjoyed my time at the location but when financial trouble hits and you follow the process to cancel and they still some how manage to call and email you months later looking for a premium payment... I cancelled my membership in January they are still calling me for a payment for months after I cancelled in writing

First I’ll say I don’t have a pass but I’ve been going recently with my friends and I love the entire environment of the gym and the staff is amazing. I remember Gretchen in particular being an absolutely outstanding worker with a really nice personality. She’s the only one I see cleaning the machines in places most people wouldn’t or helping any members that need assistance. In the little time I’ve spoken with her I’ve been motivated to get a membership the second I can and go to the gym more! I’m happy to see such amazing workers, and it’s not just her, I just don’t remember all their names. My name is Benji (since it doesn’t show my actual name) and I just wanted to say thank you for having a great gym!

I always enjoy my workouts here. Everything is very clean and relatively maintained. Body pump is my #1 fave group fitness class ever and Jill does an especially great job on Saturdays.I do wish there was a stage in the fitness room for instructors to be better seen by everyone like the racetrack location.

I was charged for months that I couldnt use the gym. I couldnt resolve my issue via phone at the time because no picked up. I was infuriated when I was told that we the members had to pay the staff that was working during that time( thats your decision not mine and Im not liable for it!) Im calling b.s. on your employeesworking because if they were THEY WOULD HAVE ANSWERED THE PHONE. You also took to long to reopen so went to powerhouse gym as of late May. Now you company is harassing me and I will be in contact with my attorney if my money is not refunded and I get one more harassing text from you fit.

It’s frustrating because I love this gym. Overdrafted every month costing more money than the subscription itself. Open your doors already! Everyone else is! If this takes any longer I’ll just take my business to Crunch! Hopefully I’ll be able to get my money back for services not provided!

Been going here for about a year now and since I’ve joined never had any problems. The gym is always clean and the workers are always great. 10/10 from me 💪🏼

The employees of this gym will follow you around if you step outside the duct tape box without a mask and tell you to put it on, meanwhile they say nothing about members not wiping off the machines when they are finished. All the while they are more concerned about hanging out at the front desk versus using their time to wipe down the machines and clean equipment. Paying customers are forced to stop during their workout and adjust if it is not on par with the staffs ruthless rules and regulations. Harassing people while they try to workout is a horrible approach and definitely made my wife and I super uncomfortable.

Very good place, an they wear masks, so they are taking the pandemic serious.

Love this gym. Huge, lots of machines, large stretching, and free weights area. I really love that there is a sauna in the bathroom. The bathrooms are large and spacious, with ample lockers, showers, changing space, and toilets. There is a huge room dedicated to classes which are included with the membership. Check out the hydro massage beds, they are the perfect wind down after an intense work out. Personal training is offered here but I havent tried it yet.

Just joined here a few weeks ago because i couldnt stand the PT staff at Crunch. The trainers here actually mind their own business and let you workout. The cardio equipment is nice and machines are actually spaced out and kept clean. The staff is super nice as well.

I’m posting this review so they have feedback that might help them improve their business. I’ve been waiting patiently for them to reopen after the pandemic. All other gyms reopened two to three weeks ago, yet they remain closed. I joined Crunch and cancelled my membership at Youfit. Their inability to open says a lot about their planning and operational leadership.

This is a nice gym. I moved here from Las Vegas and due to no PF near me I took a chance on this gym and I must say its pretty nice. The staff are always nice, manager that I met was pretty funny and nice. I come here early in the mornings so I cant speak for peak times but Ive never had to wait on a machine and they have plenty of things to keep you busy on arm or leg day. Ill probably stay a lime card member as long as I still live in Carrollwood.

I am a lime member at the Youfit gym. I have the regular location that I normally attend however, this location that is a must after a long week of hardwork at the gym. The have yoga class,the water beds,tanning room etc. it’s absolutely the bow to wrap on gym week

Members here are very friendly and love the staff excellent customer service and very clean and maintained gym. There is definitely more variety in this location as well. 10/10

Youfit at 1104 E fowler ave, Tampa charged me $27 on 3/31/2020 even after they were temporarily closed due to pandemic. I’ve never agreed to auto pay. When I called and asked, I was told it was going to be for the month they reopen. Then, I saw my fb friend’s posting that the youfit E Fowler ave is permanently closed. My friend was also charged twice and didn’t get a refund. They took people’s money for service they never offered. If this is not a stealing what is it? I sent an email, DM, and left a comment on FB, but got no response.

I went into tan for 1st time on lunch break. Girl at front desk was not friendly at all. I explained my first time tanning and she told.me that it was the 3 rd door on left, more than 3 doors. I also asked to show me how they worked, all places are different, she basically told me its self explanatory. I find the tanning bed and walk in. Cleaning bottle on floor and the cleaning sign on chair. I walk out to ask if I clean the beds or they do. She responded telling me its clean no one has been in there all day. I talk to manager who says it should be on bed. After talking to him a bit I then find out that I was not told truth about about bringing a guest. I was told guests can use the entire facility except tanning, no one mentioned to me.there was a 5.00 fee for guests who do classes. I did make sure before I signed up to ask about classes, I do not like sneaky sales people, I am going back in tomorrow to cal membership.

I love my new gym! There is a dedicated area for stretching and mobility exercises, all the machines work, the locker room is clean and the Monday night Zumba kicks my butt in a good way!

Best Gym in Tampa Bay!

Really really like this place. They take really good care of you. My husband just started working here if you need a good workout ask for Bob Mitchell!

At first I was unsure as to whether this was the right gym for me after reading some of the negative reviews online. After actually going to the gym and seeing it for myself only then did I discover what a great place this was to work. It has friendly staff - the place is big and spacious, unlike other gyms where the equipment is crammed together and people are on top of each other. This place is great, its easy to focus on your workout, and the membership is fair and affordable... I actually dealt with Jessie who was very friendly and very professional. It was Reuben who signed me up - another friendly and extremely professional person who knew the club inside out. Jessie and Reuben made the whole experience a breeze. The negative reviews online are misleading and unfair – the club is great! I am happy I signed with YouFit. If you are wondering whether to or not, just pop along and see it for yourself, ask for Reuben or Jessie! Say I sent you!

LOVE this gym. Its conveniently located, big open space, lots of cardio equipment & weight machines, good free weight area. Great hours (could open earlier on Sat & Sun though). Knowledgeable trainers & staff. Cant comment on the classes since I dont take any. Overall, my favorite of 4 area gyms I belong to.

I love this gym. Great staff, theyre always smiling. The only con I would say is a ceiling tile that is missong directly over the female stalls in the girls locker room/bathroom. A little unnerving. It has been missing for several months now. Other than that great place to work out and not too busy depending on the time you go. But even then most people are very friendly.

I love the cleanliness, the staff is friendly, and the classes are awesome. All of the amenities are a great bonus. The only thing Id change is more room for stretching/floor exercises :D

This gym in Carrollwood is awesome state-of-the-art equipment everything is clean brand new massage beds for after your workout if your a lime card holder this place is one of my favorite gyms I love it Ive been coming here since they first opened and I have a membership all over Florida so I dont really have anything bad to say at all just good things stops nice and nobody bothers you nobody tries to hit on you its just one of those kind of places that you can feel comfortable at working out!

I love the atmosphere and the staff!!! I started here again Jan 2018 after a car accident and needing to lose weight and so far Ive lost 77 lbs thanks to have having the help from the staff from Youfit without even going through a trainer!!! I love that they dont push that you need to pay to use a trainer to get more money out of you and are eager to help you anyway they can!!! They always keep the place clean and people that come to workout arent rude or snobbing like other places. #LOVEMYYOUFIT

I would recommend this location to everyone... I love coming to this location, everyone from front desk to janitors are exceptional. I live in Wesley chapel which is like 30 North of Tampa and even though I have a closest location I still drive to this location. Also, I really like their hrs since I go to school and work pretty late, I know I have no problem with time 24hr Mon to Fri.

Comfortable and friendly place to work out

They have a lot of different things to do, they also has the zumba classes and the hydro massage bed which is amazing, I love youfit north Dale mabry. Price is wonderful too.

So far so good. Rarely crowded, friendly staff, big parking. The only thing is some treadmill doesn’t have a TV or have some technical problems.

A nice gym. A good price per month. The downsides are the child care options are very limited, and they charge a yearly fee and a fee to cancel. Also, there isnt much variety on the types of classes offered. I am canceling my membership due to joining the YMCA.

I’ve been going to this gym for almost a year now. Staff is very friendly- it has all of the amenities that I need.I have the $20 dollar membership which means I can go to any location. This one is the best one I’ve been too. Fowler and Hillsborough are smaller.

I have attempted to get back in shape several times since my knee surgery, were I gained 80 pounds. I tried different gyms and programs, but out of all of them, YouFit was the RIGHT fit for me. Orestes is not only my trainer, he is a friend, a coach, a cheerleader and he really cares. He is not like other gym trainers who pressure you into expensive long term contracts. He is a Trainer! He TEACHES me everything I need to know about how to do it on my own and take control! He checks in on me throughout the week. He makes me believe I can really change my life... Im down 54 pounds since October and I feel amazing! Thank you Orestes and YouFit for making me accountable for my own life. :)

Great gym. I like the 24 hours but I wish it was 7 days a week. I use a trainer and I really appreciate the knowledge they offer for customized workout plans and nutrition.

I love this particular U Fit on Dale Mabry in Carrollwood. At other U Fits, I got discouraged and quit because I didnt like dealing with their front desk people. At the Carrollwood location, the staff is friendly. Jessica brainstormed and solved my problem with professionalism and a great attitude. The equipment is good, theres no waiting to use equipment. I love the back room where I can stretch and do core work. The energy is great. Thanks U Fit for psyching me up again. Im on my way

Really great gym with great employees. The only problem is there are times when hoards of meat heads are there in large groups and theyll gawk at me or my girlfriend or theyll sit on the machine doing nothing and take up space, but I realize theres nothing the gym can do about that. Other than that though, the gym is really great

Takes forever to fix equipment. It normally takes me trying about 6-7 treadmills before finding one with no technical/mechanical issues. They don’t allow you to put memberships on a temporary hold for any reason and charge you to cancel on top of a month+ notice. Then continue to charge your bank account for months after canceling and make you chase after the one person who can look into the issue. They also don’t get back to any email communications. I guess you get what you pay for with this gym.

Carrollwood is nice. Employees are very nice. Cant give it five stars because the shower pressure is excruciatingly low and I mean so low it could be a comedy bit for Seinfeld. If the low pressure is a business decision it is a bad one. If it is a government regulation then the business needs to get the regulation changed. Ultimately I still have my membership but I really would like enough water so I dont have to spend four times as much time showering as I do at home.BTW I only wrote this review because I saw responses from the owner. Kudos for that.

SCAM ALERT: My family purchased multiple personal training sessions at the Youfit location on Hillsborough Avenue, but several sessions “expired” for no apparent reason even though we were regularly training with our personal trainers. DO NOT PURCHASE PERSONAL TRAINING FROM YOUFIT! IT IS A SCAM!

This place has overdrafted my account twice now after ive close my account on 2 different occasions. Here i am now negative 85 more dollars because THEY lost my paperwork or whatever. This is ridiculous at this point and im seeing what i can do about getting a lawyer today. Beings that im out of state now and cant go in there and am still being charged. Stay away from this place.

SCAM ALERT: I dont recommend the clubs personal training. Several personal training sessions that we purchased at YouFit on Hillsborough Avenue were declared to be expired at the discretion of the club. So, we did not receive the services we paid for. And personal training is expensive! And, of course, we received no refund for the sessions that were taken from us. DONT PURCHASE PERSONAL TRAINING FROM YOUFIT!

The staff is very helpful at the South Tampa one. The machines are clean and weights are in order. Everything is put up in their place, so not stepping over stuff and people. Also bathroom and showers are very clean.

Love the fitness center! I just wish it would open EARLIER on Saturdays and Sundays. ( Before 8:00 A.M.)

The A/C is the best of many gyms I visited, you can breath without feeling your nose or throat dry, it feels fresh. In general its a clean gym.

A friendly staff and usually enough machines for everyone. They push training / coaching for a fee that seems fair but a $100 setup charge seemed ridiculous to me. Overall its a great place.

This is perfect for my tastes. Yeah, there are only a few of each machine but if you go during the less peak hours, you dont have to wait as long. Also, if you dont care for one location, spend the extra $10 and go to a different location and stop your griping! Ive gone to every gym chain that has ever had location(s) in Tampa and have to say, this chain is the only one that doesnt have wanna-be trainers breathing down your neck. Not to mention, they ask enough questions to ensure they dont push you more than you are physically capable. No other club can claim that. None!!! Everywhere else, they pestered me every time I went in to hire one of THEIR p.t.

I have seen what they believe is professional trainer workouts. I always just smile and think Man what if someone who actually knew what they were talking about would show up.But seriously a gym should be 24 hours 7 days a week. For the money they charge you should be able to go there and do the workouts that you want to do when you want to do it.No dress code at all it seems these kids think its the beach.

When I cancelled my account months ago- they never cancelled my son’s “account” for kids club. (Even though he is 8 and cannot use the club facilities without me) this is something that should have been handled when I filled out my cancellation paperwork.

The gym is ok and for the most part clean, but they seem to have real problems cleaning the locker rooms. They have men cleaning the womens and women clean the mens. Today they had the mens showers closed for hours while they were cleaning but no one was doing anything they just had the blocked off. I hope they can get their ac together because they could be a nice gym for the money. They have CLOSED the showers, When I spoke to the guy at the front desk he seemed proud they were putting in new showers almost a wekk now showers closed and no work being done. Depending on who you asked it would be weeks before work is even started. Crunch is down the road so i signed up there. Gym is nicer cheaper and the locker room does not smell like a sewer.

Me and my grandmother come here frequently, its always clean and nice staff. They have plenty of equipment for everyone to use, lockers for you to use, showers, tanning rooms and offer classes for you to take(zumba, body pump, ect)
