Rented a car from this location and the service was outstanding. The associate, Sharif, was courteous, helpful, and put me in a vehicle that was perfect for my trip. The car was super clean, the time spent at the counter was minimal, and the experience was one for the books. Abdi checked my vehicle at the time of return and again, was courteous, timely, and very appreciative and thanked me profusely for being a lontime Avis member and continuing to rent with Avis. Well done Avis Grandview team. Will look forward to make this my #1 rental spot in the future.

Beware this place will over charge. I had 2 people with me when rented car. Plus insurance lady on phone. Declined the ins but when took car back charged me for it. When ask if they had cameras there Mustafa got irritated. Ive filed a complaint but cant get a person on phone. I am stopping payment on card u til they get it figured out beware watch your receipts

Update*** Jan 22nd 2021Turned in my rental in this morning and the manager who always helps me inquired about my review and wanted to know what happened. He was so genuine with his concern and apologized for the previous experience. Big thanks for addressing my concern 💛🙌🏽🙌🏽Update***Turned in a rental Christmas eve and specifically advised the guy at the counter TWICE that I wanted to pay the rental off with a different card. I even showed him the card I wanted to use. What does he do he charges my credit card. When I told him that was not what I requested he refunds me runs my debit card and somehow still charged my credit card. At this point Im livid. VERY POOR EXPERIENCE

Avis always come through for me in my family and its so easy to pick up and return. Some enterprises make u drive all the way to North Kansas to pick up and drop off but Avis in Grandview is so close to home.THANK YOU need anything please dont hesitate to post!!!

Scheduled rental through priceline for 7:30 am. Got there at 7:27. Paperwork went smoothly. Then the agent tells me that the minivan i had reserved wasn’t clean yet, and when it’s ready it will be out front. 😳They offered me a bigger car for same price. Uh, no! Bigger, car more gas.Waited 30 minutes!!!!! I am furious! Who does business like that?!?!?If i could give them a zero I would.Time is precious

***POSSIBLE FRAUD***A month ago My Wife reserved online and picked up a vehicle at this grandview Mo location. She had gotten 2 flat tires shortly after picking up the vehicle. She calls avis and reports the problem. Both tow truck and uber were supposed to be on the way to pick them both up. Tow truck arrived, picked up vehicle and left. No uber. 2 phone calls and almost 45min later, still no uber. I was at work planning to leave town as soon as I clocked out for Family business. I borrowed a vehicle from someone at work and picked up Wife to take Her to the Main St location as instructed by avis rep. Main St location says even if He had a vehicle, he couldnt do a transfer per his boss AND they were closing. He suggests going back to grandview or the airport. Grandview was closed and the airport was an hour commute. It wasnt My vehicle to travel further than I originally planned, so I had to cancel Our trip.To shorten the story.....We were told the next day after calling customer service that We needed to wait 3-5 business days for full refund. After the waiting period We received a refund but for the past 3 weeks My bank account keeps gets charged 3 times and it increases everytime! Each time I spend over an hour on hold just to be told to wait to talk to roadside assistance for almost another hour. I get reimbursed just to have another charge pop up for more money! They charged Us for keys the tow truck driver took. Somehow avis has the vehicle but not the keys. Not Our problem when the tow truck they called had them last. They charged Us again for the full rental of the vehicle! They charged Us for the 2 tires even though they knew Our insurance that carried over to vehicle rentals would have dealt with it. I just found out yesterday that all these charges are coming from the grandview location.So as I see it its more about getting the money than doing right by the Customer when they are wrong. I think that they missed money renting to uber while the vehicle was down so they had to recoup somehow thinking Im just going to lay down. ***Photo posted of avis reps communicating about keys and uber***. No laying down for Me. Ive been with avis since 2002 and been mostly renting from the grandview location. Since management change about 5-6 years ago, the grandview service has decreased dramatically and the vehicles arent always cleaned out. They attempted fraud on a Family member a couple years back concerning a BROKEN windshield AFTER checking the vehicle in as ok. 3 weeks later, almost a thousand dollars was charged to Their bank account with no warning.The actions of this location has forced Me to part ways with avis all together. Im sure they dont care just as long as they know they wont have a chance to get over on Me like that.

I received text and emails stating my vehicle was ready and waiting for pick up. My reservation was at 8 am and I arrived at 750 because I wanted to be on the road to Tx. I reserved a Suburban due to the long trip and we would 6-7 people going. Long story short, no Suburban available at pick up time for our trip. He offered a Dodge van which is not as smooth or spacious as a Suburban. He gave a small discount for the inconvenience however upon viewing my credit card statement there was a toll charge for $32. Apparently, we had toll roads in TX that didnt have booths to pay they just take pics of plates and sends the bill. Avis charged me the toll price plus a $15 fee. I wasnt offered a toll package at checkout the only thing he said was pay all your tolls which we did in Oklahoma on the turnpike since there was a booth to pay. I dont mind paying for what I use but dont charge me an extra $15 to add a charge to my account when I had no control on how to pay without a toll booth. Wrong vehicle, extra fees, no more Avis for me. I called Avis and they would not take off the extra fee. : (

I picked up my vehicle and with all this corona going around you would think they would at least wipe the vehicle or disinfect it in some way. But their was a lighter on the floor the last person rental agreement was still in the car and stuff in the trunk. And a vacuuming wouldnt hurt.

DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! They canceled my reservation without telling so had to go to a different location and pay extra. They charged me $151 for being an hour late then charged my account twice so charged me over $600 for 5 days. Had to talk to 7 different people for them to find my account. Customer service was terrible. The car I got was not cleaned out. Extremely dirty. Worse experience ever.

So I called this location to schedule a pick up service for them and I was told no since it will be only one person there. I called the national line before calling them and they told me they offer this service if you are within 5 miles from the facility and I was way under that yet they still felt the need to tell me that was a hard no they are not going to pick me up to come to get my rental. My reservation is a week away and I was just trying to give them heads up ahead of time and this is the treatment that I get. I will not be returning to this location once we are done. I wish I never made a reservation for this location in the first place.

Dont waste your time here. This used to be a good car rental facility rented here multiple times but no longer. Gave away our rental car before we could pick it up. They never called us to ask if we were still coming.Even after wed had stopped by the day before to assure them wed be there. Horrible feeling when youre ready to head out of town. You should rent elsewhere I do.

Customer service agent was friendly enough, but when we got in our car it smelled so strongly of smoke, we had to drive a lot with the windows down. Also, we left our car in the Avis lot during our rental period and our car got broke into while we were gone. No security cameras was what we were told.

So far my rental experience has been amazing. Abdi was great to work with. He was kind and very knowledgeable. Our rental was exactly what we wanted. I had stopped 3 days prior to my rental as I had never rented with Avis before. Abdi took the time to explain everything and show me the different cars that were in the class that I had rented. I will return my rental tomorrow but dont expect any issues what so ever. The car was a dream to drive. (Buick Enclave).

First I would like to say I had the BEST EXPERIENCE when I rented my car at this location. I love that there is always a smile and I was offered water and sacks. There was No wait time at all. The cars are nice. I was able to get the Ford Fusion 2016 that I wanted. Inside the car was clean an smelled good.. Mr. Chris was super sweet and builds rapport with me. I will not go anywhere else at this point. My business stays at Avis location in Grandview with Mr. Chris. Thank you for your awesome service, I appreciate everything.

Rented a few times from here for work trips and has been a good experience each time. Glad someone in south KC is open at least a few hours on Sunday so Im not charged and extra day on Fri-Sun rentals when cars are checked in on the following Monday (as is the case for hertz and enterprise nearest to my home).

I had booked a car a week in advance, was told I could pay with a debit card if I passed a credit check. My credit is flawless, but I got denied. The lady told me to refer to Equifax, and said there was nothing else she could do and brushed me off. I had my trip delayed several hours because of this, and with the same information and cost, got a rental somewhere else.Dont waste your time with the incompetence here.

My experience at this location was the best. I had a last minute issue where I prepaid online and the Burlington Location would not help me and wouldn’t even give me any options. But at soon as I called the Grandview location I was greeted on the phone with a How are you an how’s your day. How may I be of service . I told him my issue at the other location and even though he was closing the Owner said he will stay open until I get there to help me. I got there in 15 minutes before closing and was greeted by name because he took the time to remember me. Mr. Chris gave me options that the Burlington location did not. I was told I can always call and come on down. My business stays at Avis location in Grandview with Mr. Chris. Thank you for your awesome service, and willingness and positive attitude. I appreciate everything. Because of you I was able to go see my family and spend time with my love ones. Thank you so so so so much.

I rented a car from this company on the 5th of March. After returning the vehicle I noticed an extra charge on my credit card and it was over $50 when the rental itself was only supposed to be about 46 I was a little surprised by this so I called the company and ask them what this was for and they said that they charged me $10 a gallon for the fuel because I hadnt filled it up all the way. Now this wouldnt be a big deal if I had known about it but I really didnt know about it because when signing the paperwork inside the office and I asked the gentleman about you know what I was signing and initialing he said oh its no big deal its got to do with the liability for the vehicle itself saying if you were to wreck it or anything like that which is understandable. I wasnt really concerned with it I dont rent cars very often I just took the gentleman at his word when I got the charge the next day after flying back I was a little surprised because the fuel cost is more than the rental cost which is absolutely ridiculous especially when I maybe drove it 70 miles I didnt drive it much at all.

Worst experience I have ever experienced with a car rental company! First set back I was scheduled to pick up my rental at 10am but they didnt have any cars so I didnt get car until around 2pm. I returned to the branch on the scheduled return date & requested an extention on my rental I was told it would be roughly an additional $40 but once I returned the rental back to the branch I looked at my credit card online to find out I was charged almost $600 from the original $234 I agreed to pay. I was erroneously charged for insurance as well that I never agreed to include in my rental as I used my own personal insurance. To date I have went into the branch as well as called the 800 #s repeatedly with no resolution. CHRIS at the Grandview location needs a tutorial on doing his job more effectively as he is the sole reason I have had such a HORRIBLE experience & huge financial loss....I will NEVER rent nor recommend Avis to anyone!!!

June 14 rented from Enterprise today I just rented from Avis WAY overcharged for fuel. I drove 59 miles in a Festivia (27/35 mpg)and charged $15 for fuel. True figue should have been $5.52 in fuel. The Enterprise rental charged me over $30 for a half tank of gas used in a Hyundai Accent. I called them and fought to get my money back. Scamming more money from the.consumer

Rented car for two days daily price was good then needed car for one more day call and was told it would be the same daily rate plus 10 dollars for extending it told them i would be returning on third day by 6pm said that was fine then when i went to pay they had charged me for a fourth day because i did not return by 12:30 i think they should be up front and have told me that i would be charged an extra day if not back by 12:30 this was my first and last time renting from Avis.

I rented a SUV from the Grandview, Mo location and prepaid the total with my credit card. I used my AARP discount and got a really good deal. Upon returning the vehicle Chris Beurman explained there was an additional charge of $28.69 and when asked what it was far he said he did not know. I repeatedly asked if he included the AARP discount which he responded yes. He continued to explain that he did not know why we were getting the extra charge but we can call customer service to find out. He was extremely rude and very unprofessional. The only reason I gave two stars is because of the great customer service I received once I called the 800 number. I spoke to Hermando and he was very apologetic and explained that he (Chris Beurman) did not apply the AARP discount, like I was trying to tell him, Hermando refunded the fee as well. If I didn’t have the great customer service from Hermando I do not think I would use Avis again, I will definitely not go back to the Grandview location though. I think Avis should spend sometime with Chris teaching him some customer service skills. If you rent from Avis I advise you to avoid this location.
