Came in for an intro class and worked with Bobby. Had a great time and went home with a lot learned. Everyone I met in the gym was friendly. Bobby was especially on point and was able to accommodate my higher than most beginner striking capability. By the end we were doing numbers on the pads and I got a chance to be the pad holder for bobby as well to see him perform the moves.Only downside was the limited parking.I didnt end up joining because the gym was 45 mins from my house and due to Florida roadways, there is only one way to get there. If the gym were closer, I’d have joined. Grateful for my experience and I recommend the gym.

Ive been attending classes here for about 6 months and I can confidently say this place is the real deal. All the instructors are friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. There are plenty of more experienced students who you can work with and learn from if you are new. The facility has plenty of space, pads, bags and workout equipment that you can use outside of attending classes. If you want to learn real muay thai, then this is the place to go.

Love this place! I’ve trained with a lot of awesome people in the last 8 or so months. I’m a pretty shy person but I felt like I belonged right away. All the trainers are awesome, for lots of different reasons. Some are very serious, some are laid back, and some try to kill you with physically demanding workout routines. They also organize group gatherings to hang out and get to know each other which is also pretty cool.

I’ve been very happy so far at Tampa Muay Thai. The classes are challenging and I am learning a lot. The instructors are very good and I especially enjoy the classes with Brandon. He explains everything so that the entire class can understand and he makes everyone feel welcome, regardless of your skill level. Also, the management has been very helpful with the billing and gym policies. Overall, I am extremely satisfied.

This place is my second home in Tampa. The trainers are knowledgeable, experienced, and talented. There are all levels of members at Tampa Muay Thai: recreational fighters, amateur and professional fighters, and people who only want to stay fit without getting bored. We all strive for improvement everyday, with every lesson. You get what you put in here, and its not about being tough, having a big attitude, and punching hard. Muay Thai combines striking skill, with defensive strategy, reflex memory, and conditioning which all combine here to provide an overall engaging, tactical and practical workout. The atmosphere is not like a traditional martial arts gym where rank of members is always obvious, but if you want to fight or get in the ring with the upper level members, you have to show that you are skilled enough to exhibit control and show that you understand and respect the art of Muay Thai.

Dato - aka The Russian Nightmare - is a patient, friendly and highly-skilled/experienced coach who is a blast to work with. If youre on the fence about this place, go to one session and give it a try; youll be hooked! I highly recommend TMT!

Tampa Muay Thai is the best spot to train in Tampa hands down if you want to get into fighting shape or just get a great workout and learn Muay Thai. Produces top notch fighters and cant be beaten by any other gym in Tampa or nearby if you are looking to get into competitive kickboxing/Muay Thai. Great atmosphere and you always feel like youre welcome by all the instructors when you step in the door. Instruction quality is great and techniques are broken down and explained with a lot of attention given by the instructors to every person even in group classes. Would (and do) recommend to friends, worth checking out.

This gym has a soul. A very good soul that nurtures the principles of Muay Thai. The staff creates this environment through their warm welcoming and eagerness to assist. I was a true beginner at Muay Thai. Now, after just 3 months, I have grown exponentially in my skill, general health, flexibility, and confidence. I have used all facets of training such as self workout, partner workout, classes, and private instruction. Its right there on the wall at the gym......this is where we sweatthis is where we bleedthis is where are brothers arethis is where are sisters arethis is Tampa Muay ThaiYou will believe every word after just one workout

I had a pretty good experience at Tampa Muay Thai, but only in the gym. They contract out their finances to the shadiest people Ive come across in Tampa, Covenant Business Solutions. This speaks to how much they care about the people that attend their gym. This finance company has been giving me the runaround, using loopholes for several months now to get me to pay each month. $250 later, Im finally almost out.Dont buy into their month to month plan, because its certainly not what they make it seem like, and read the fine print instead of listening to the guy at the gym sell you their plan (my first mistake). When I took this issue to the gym, they basically said, Sorry thats our finance people, we dont deal with that. and that was the only response I got. So essentially, Sorry, youre still paying us, but we dont deal with our own money because as a business were financially incompetent. The whole reason I quit wasnt because I didnt like the gym, it was because I couldnt afford it. I was planning on coming back in the fall, but now that certainly wont be the case. I want to go to a gym that actually cares about their customers.

There are definitely some pleasant people here. There’s an older gentleman named Dato who is very nice and the girl at the front desk was very sociable and sweet. I was not impressed with the training in the normal classes. Properly holding Thai pads is not something you can just do on a whim, and they have day 1 beginners holding pads for each other while the trainers observe. The trainers give instructions on some techniques that beginners have no business of even trying, while overlooking a lot of key basic principles. There was not much one-on-one instruction, it was kind of just “heres this technique, now go do it with your partner”. I feel like the classes are designed in such a way that people think they’re learning stuff, just to keep them coming back. While we were there, the trainers Jill and Brandon acted like they were better than everyone else and would rather pretend to be intimidating than make newcomers feel welcomed or provide quality instruction. And as you can see from other reviewers, signing up and canceling is a crapshoot. Signed up at the end of the month so they charged us for that entire month then again like 3 days later when the new month started. Also charged an extra month when we canceled.

From the second I walked through the doors of Tampa Muay Thai I have felt home. TMT has been so much more than just a way of fitness for me but a huge part of my life. Dabbling into the sport (I started with kickboxing classes somewhere else prior) for a couple of years now but the level of training I have received at TMT has been second to none. I was beyond scared prior to my first private session with Jalal and the thought of jumping into a class filled with experienced fighters was something that literally made me sick. Here we are almost a full year later and I am happier than ever. Never in my life did I expect to fall in love with a sport like Muay Thai but it has done more for me than I could ever thought possible. The people are incredible, the trainers are patient (you have to be to work with me 😜) and when you join you truly become part of a family/a community of people who have your back in all areas of life. As long as TMT stays standing I’ll continue walking through those doors daily. ❤️

I walked into Tampa Muay Thai with ZERO striking experience. The trainers here know exactly what theyre talking about and are some of the most talented fighters I know, ranging from fighters in Thailand to fighting professionally in the United States. Tampa Muay Thai is a great opportunity for amateurs to try out the sport and to take their training to a further level. I have fought with these guys and dont regret one day of training. Tampa Muay Thai is family. Everyone is here is very diverse, so you end up gathering knowledge from all kinds of people. Jalal Khatib, Alex Berrios, David Gogichaisvili, Jason Chang, and Khru Ray Cole are amazing trainers and I would recommend this place to any of my friends who are in the area!

I enjoyed the instructors. My biggest quam is I signed a month to month contract with this gym and was assured I could come in an cancel at any time, the same day. I ran into some health issues that I could no longer attend classes and literally called them for over a month and no one ever returned my call. I finally went down there, and they told me o, well someone didnt explain it to you properly, you have to call this 1-800 number. So, come to find out, they have a third party they use for any customer service issues and billing, and you have to send a certified letter to cancel and they will charge you a month AFTER they receive your letter. This 1-800 number will essentially tell you, sorry, we dont know what the business told you, but your contract states all of this. With this back and forth nonsense, I paid the gym for 3 additional months that I did not attend classes, amounting in $390. I really liked the gym when I went, but to find out this is how they conduct their business is despicable. I would never recommend this gym based on this experience.

Tucked away in the southern boundary of trendy Seminole Heights just north of bustling downtown, Tampa Must Thai is the only place I know of where a neurosurgeon gets (legally) kicked by a fast food worker and a salsa dancers do push-ups.Known for pumping out professional and amateur Thai boxers, Tampa Muay Thai has a curriculum to meet my physical fitness needs in an innovative way. They blend Thai culture with a little ass kicking. After a few minutes of training, youre sweating. The trainers know how to make you work, working your muscles, taxing your cardiovascular system, and challenging your brain with new technique. its not just the trainers expertise that sells me on this place - its mostly the culture. With members ranging in gender, race, nationality, size, and socioeconomic class, TMT brings everyone with different training aspirations together cohesively through different avenues of Muay Thai training. From the strength and conditioning to dirty boxing or sparring classes, the trainers at Tampa muay Thai fulfill the needs of anyone with any inkling toward fighting or general physical fitness.I couldnt give this place enough stars for the culture, expertise, and results.

Some of these negative reviews can take there comments and shove it. Ive been going to this Gym for 4 years now going on 5 years. I fought in the ring to represent this wonderful family. Ive worked in Corporate America for 14 years now with my day job. Ive traveled to many different states and just like any other business dealing with executives and clients you cannot expect an utopia society when doing business. Quite frankly, if you would go to any other gyms such as (L.A. Fitness, Crunch Time, U-Fit, The Orange Theory, or 24 Hour Fitness), Im sure there will be something to complain about!!!This GYM created friendships with a positive motivational attitude that foster a family environment that does not discriminate against any one based on religion, sex or creed. I LOVE this gym and I would recommend it to any one for a life changing experience. So if you just relocated to the Tampa area, come check out Tampa Muay Thai at 1622 N Franklin St, Tampa, FL 33602.

I have two children one of whom has ADD/ADHD/SPD. The childrens instructor, along with all the trainers at this facility are beyond exceptional and understanding to each and every child/adults individual needs. Travis is a superior Childrens trainer who works very closely with each child. They are treated with the utmost respect. Each student is motivated, encouraged, and pushed to reach their fullest potential regardless of any physical or mental condition. Distractions for an ADD/ADHD Child in the gym? So? Children and adults with ADD/ADHD exprrience distractions in the clasroom, any sports activity, its called real life experiences. My son is taught not to be limited by his condition but that possibilities are limitless.. We have been members at this gym for 3 months and couldnt be happier. All students work at their pace and everyone. .everyone at this gym is compassionate, understanding, exceptionally patient and helpful . Children and adults alike work together to learn in a perfect environment. My son with ADD/ADHD has experienced other sports, martial arts but feels so at home. Both my boys and myself (I have an endless list of medical problems) have not only thrived here but also have met some of the most incredible, compassionate, exceptional people there. Dont limit your child with a label but allow them to grow where they thrive best. For my family. Tampa Muay Thai is exactly that. Thank you to everyone who has been understanding and nurtured patiently both my sons desire to learn regardless of what hurtles they have overcome.. to see them accomplish and learn new techniques.. that sense of pride and smile on their face is absolutely priceless. Thank you staff and members at Tampa Muay Thai for making us feel welcome and embracing my families unique attributes.

I called for a free trial for my 7 year old son who has been in boxing before but I wanted him to start at a new place for reasons I wont discuss. My son has adhd so his doctor recommended putting him in sports or something HE LIKES to keep him busy and away from trouble. My son begged me to put him in boxing so I want to make clear that I didnt make or push my son to do something that he didnt want to do.This was at my sons request that he get put in boxing. At our first free trial the kids instructor took my son on the mats to walk him through some basics. Part of my sons adhd is short attention span and being at a new place that had people working out and stuff had him distracted but I know if given a chance my son would snap back into it because he has done it before and did good at his other boxing place.Come on he was a bit shy his first time in a new place with new faces. I noticed the kids instructor getting impatient with my son and a bit agitated because my son was slacking and not doing what he was told right. In stead of using his left leg he would step with his right. Does this place not work with kids who are at all different learning levels? After about only 5 minutes the instructor walked over to me and told me it looked like my son wasnt interested in it, so i explained about his disorder and maybe he just needed a little time to adjust and he said nothing else and just walked away. Gave up on my son just like that!!! Giving me the impression that kids with adhd arent good enough for their time. Im so stressed over what my son and I felt to just feel left out. I tell no lies with my right hand to God I thought this place would be a great place for my son to succeed and do something he loves. Im disappointed with the treatment my son received at this place thats why they get 1 star. All children should be treated the same. At Muay Thai the instructor never gave my son a chance.**UPDATE: @ response from owner first of all please do not put words in my sons mouth because that is clearly a LiE my son never said he didnt want to be there.! Like I said before it was at my sons request he wanted to be there so why would you lie and say he said he didnt want to be there? Lies lies lies this place is pathetic full of lies and are lying because they got called out and dont want to look bad...Please if my son would have been treated right why would I be on here writing this long review? Ill answer that because what I wrote is exactly how it happened!!! Period!!!

If you signed a contract with this gym, I hope you really, really like them because you will be paying to go there for quite some time; likely well past any date that you actually stop going there. This gym does not honor their 30 day cancelation notice and will make you pay an additional 60 days beyond receipt of the notice due to their billing cycle, which conveniently isnt anywhere near the day you gave notice. Also be prepared to send multiple certified letters to the same billing company as they will deny receipt of said letter or claim that you didnt complete the cancelation process. Never mind that certified letters are expensive in of themselves and of course an outdated method of communication. Of course none of these cancellation policies are mentioned in your contract and is arbitrary based on when the gym decides to bill you. I learned from this gym never to sign another gym contract. Thanks Tampa Muay Thai.
