I’ve been a member of this gym for a few years. I can confirm the staff here have always had poor attitudes and terrible customer service. The only reason I go to this gym is because it’s well equipped. However if you have a customer service issue, don’t waste your time. There is a very high chance that management or the staff will not care. To the management you need to improve your customer service perhaps retrain your staff in customer service? I don’t know but figure it. How Esporta (foremerly LA Fitness) corporate has let you get away with this for so long is beyond me.

Pt. 2 to my review DO NOT SIGN UP HERE.... Not only did the Personal training manager LIE to us about having a 5 day window to cancel PT without a fee (it’s actually 3 days-according to other managers now) he also lied about our PT membership being canceled over the phone. He assured us there was nothing to sign or any documents to cancel but come to find out we inquired in person about the cancellation it was never canceled the initial refund was never requested and they were getting ready to bill us another month... this place is terrible we can’t even get a call back the same day to get the issue resolved.

Front desk staff is rude and unprofessional. New rule requirement for scanning instead of using phone number look up. He was too busy “doing other things.” Not how you treat your guests. The man working the desk had blonde hair and light tired blue eyes. Sorry you’ve got better things to do, maybe don’t work where you have to greet people.

Nice gym but management has a totally hands off approach. The water machine took $$ (2nd time) and manager said nothing he can do and to call phone number. I guess I feel like if you have a machine in your building and it fails the management should at least give us back money or better yet a bottle of water and they can search for refund. As a company you have the responsibility to ensure your members get what they pay for and to have such a not our machine not our problem attitude is poor customer service.

Great gym, the renovations they did a few years ago are fantastic — only wish they had a sauna!

Loved the Zumba!! The music, the energy was great. The staff at Esporta is friendly and knowledgeable. The facility itself is clean, organized and theres plenty of equipment and activities to do.

This gym has the worst sales/ customer experience I have ever witnessed. Management has no clue what’s going on, there’s never a “general manager” to speak to at the location. Staff and personal trainers are super pushy to get you to sign up during tour and quick to take your money but the moment you want to cancel or say no thank you they are begging you to give it more time and of course there’s magically no one around to cancel your pt membership.I Had to sign a bunch of paper work to get started with Personal training but didn’t have to sign any when canceling before the 5 day period... very sketchy.

Best gym in the area, really clean, everyone is so friendly, staff is great. I’ve gone from golds gym to planet fitness now ESPORTA and I want to say ESPORTA is the “one”.

So if I could rate 0 stars i would.. My spouse canceled membership for personal trainer back in September due to making he could be with me while dealing with personal health issues. He spoke to just about everyone before they actually stated his membership for a personal trainer was canceled. Well to our surprise weve still been getting charged for the personal trainer and gym membership. Now initially when we called after noticing we were still being billed the person basically acknowledged that the membership for the personal trainer was canceled. Now when advising them we would be requesting a refund for services they are saying well the notes say you were talked into staying. Please dont go to this gym or any of them. I will definitely be contacting their corporate office in regards to this because this is theft/ fraud. You cant continue to charge someone without their knowledge and refuse to give a refund thats fraud and theft. They wont even provide anything on their letterhead saying its canceled. I will give them a few days to make this right then Im contacting my financial institution, corporate, and the BBB.

Not enough machines to workout legs, instead too many cardio machines for nothing. One room full of cardio machines and nobody use them.Thats a waste.Better have some other hacksaw machines, sissysquat machines. People got to wait long time to get one machine to workout.Thanks

The machines are not spread out at all and there is way too many people. They need to limit the people in the building to maintain social distancing. The other location on Gunn Highway is more spread out, cleaner, less crowded, and has more machines even though it is spread out more.

Truly one fun place to get fit and build strength.

Swimming pool has been closed for over a week and they seem to not give a f... also if u want to take a shower or change clothes some of times u cant because they have a female cleaning the mens locker. Can this gym not hire a male associate to do that? Are they so cheap?. Beware of all these before u sign up people.

I love this place

Extremely disappointed this LA Fitness doesn’t have a sauna but they made room for an indoor pool. It’s Florida everyone has a pool. Very nice design extremely close to the house but without a sauna I’ll drive to palm harbor or clearwater location. Also seems like they dedicated way too much space for the entrance and administrative area could of improved the layout and added more equipment.

Hands down my favorite workout facility in the area The staff is always friendly The trainers are knowledgeable The facility is always kept clean and the day care theyre provided is always more than sufficient. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a gym especially if youre due to the area as the atmosphere is very friendly here.

We had come to Tampa for the first three weeks of July for vacation. I did not want to sacrifice my workouts or my trainings so I found this gym was close to where we were staying. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, the staff was friendly, and Tony Evans was absolutely awesome. He was extremely accommodating and got me set up with JP so that I could continue my training sessions while on vacation. JP is an excellent trainer and extremely thorough. He kept me on my toes, challenged me, and gave me a great workout. I cannot say enough about JP!! My experience at the Hillsborough LA fitness was outstanding. I cannot say enough good things about this location and how I was treated as a visitor. Kudos to Tony and JP. Very professional and welcoming!! Ill be back. :)

The people who are at the front desk on Saturday afternoons super badly educated, they have no education

I like this facility even though it doesnt have everything, like a sauna or basketball court but I dont like how the floor is always dirty and what bothers me the most is that the person who is supposed to be cleaning is walking around with a coffee in her hand talking to her co-worker. They should hire someone else, like the first cleaning lady who was there when the facility first opened, she did an awesome job.

Got a free pass online. Minutes after that I started to receive ghost calls from them. Not a got start.... will update after I have have tested them out.Edit: Gym and changing rooms are clean. Check in was quick and easy.

This is the most unmotivating gym Ive ever been to. The music is horrible and very low. Its dark in here like a yoga class and I feel like Im working out in an office. I sure do miss the old lifestyles.

Love the remodel but if they were open 24/7 like others theyd be perfect. Membership is a little pricey but for the quality and people it is worth it. I would late into the evening they barely work with my schedule. Honestly the kids club is a joke. Yes they have one but it is hardly ever open. They have it only for 4 hours on the weekend and it is from 8-12 in the morning if you dont go between those times on Saturday youre not working out for the weekend.

Heard about this gym from a co worker when I moved here. I usually don’t post reviews but this gym is very nice and very clean! Good selection of machines, all looked brand new. And the hottie at the front desk was so nice and welcoming. Dalton, I believe was his name. I will definitely be back!

Been going to this gym for years before it was even LA Fitness I love it its close to every place that I shop at afterwards. However they do not keep up on machines that are not running correctly especially their new treadmills half of them either you cant change functions or the TVs dont work they need somebody to really check these machines out daily

Staff seemed to be nice but we’re passive aggressive. Didn’t even wanna give me a tour of the gym. Asked them nicely if I could try their equipment out and passively aggressively told me no because their staff memeber let me in the other day without signing a waiver. Basically telling me it was my fault for trying their gym for free. Wouldn’t recommend this facility to anyone.

Super clean, super good staff. Went there at 6AM and the staff where cleaning and making people feel welcome. But small no Sana. So thats a downer. But love the new look.

They need to train the front desk staff to greet people. I found that out of 5 familiar faces only 1 greets people (without a smile)!! Other than that, the gym itself is OK.

Very disappointed in the hours the were supposed to be 24 hrs when I signed up and not they wont honor the hours or even reduced my rate the club is not worth 24.99 find another gym that wont miss lead u when u sign up

It is a pleasure to work out in such a organized, and clean environment...l love their Water Aerobics, Zumba, and Yoga.. Its a great place to workout at and stay healthy.

I enjoy working out in this facility. I travel between towns and occasional go to other LA Fitness locations and this one by far is in the top 2. Everyone is friendly but doesnt bother you. It is not a fashion show at this one. My only complaint is I can only make it to Yoga class once a week!

Faithful, Happy & Loyal LA fitness member for over 17+ years in Orlando. I decided to bring a guest today to the NEW and Improved location on 11252 W Hillsborough. Yes, my guest forgot to bring his drivers license. The stocky looking male manager made no graceful exception and denied entrance. Im sorry my retired military guest 71 years young forgot his ID. This was not a matter of national security and we were not going to see some political figure or requesting secure access to some secret internet files. We were going to use a tread mil. There is a graceful and respectful way to implement rules without offending your guest. I quote...Anyone over the age of 18 should be caring an ID. In the end this was a miss opportunity for a new member to sign up and a loyal member feeling disappointed.

My wife and I were looking to join LA Fitness for the first time. The manager Nick N. gave us a tour and asked us a few questions. We then met as his desk to go over membership details. After pushing us repeatedly to sign up, I told him we needed some time to consider it. He told me I sounded defensive. I again repeated that I was going to consider his sales pitch and come back later if I decided to join. He responded that I should Have respect for his position and not waste his time. My wife and I have never been treated so badly at a gym before.

One of the personal trainers, Tony needs to be let go. This man sits at the front desk all day long and insults people as they walk in. He doesnt greet you politely and scan your tag nor does he train people. For this gym to have a $30 price per month is absurd. I have my goals at the gym and for an employee to tell me i need to do more cardio because it looks like I gained weight is uncalled for. Let Tony go or educate him on how to respect others and do his job.

My favorite LA out of all the ones I go to. Old school feel to it. Ernesto is great. Glad hes back at this location.

Aside from the issues everybody has with canceling your subscription this is a good place to go to work out, a lot of equipment, and enough variety in them that you wont get bored or not be able to find something to work out a specific muscle group you might be trying to work on.

Its a gym, its going to have lazy people who dont put their equipment away, who dont wipe the equipment down after use, and who like to occupy workout areas for their trips down conversation street.That aside, the equipment is new, the classes are fun, the childcare is a little mad max beyond thunderdome, but its there.Dislikes, it doesnt feel like my gym, so its kind of like a foreign environment each time I visit. You never really feel at home. They do not have, or do not enforce a trowel policy. The soda machine is radically overpriced, and the provided equipment to clean the machines yourself is subpar at best compared to other gyms Ive been in.Im here if you have questions.

My review was originally 5 stars, but now that they changed from 24/7 to set hours. Im changing my review because their hours dont work well with my schedule! Im a very busy person, and sometimes I show up to the gym, thinking that I have enough time to work out, and I find out the hard way that they close like 15-20 minutes later. Its very frustrating for someone who comes regularly and has crucial workouts to do in order to stay in shape. Dont get me wrong, its a good gym thats pretty well worth the money. But be prepared for their time restrictions if you wanna be a member here. It was a lot better when they were 24/7.

Not a bad gym, everything is remodeled and new. There’s a couple things I have issues with though. There are no gym wipes or spray bottles. They have what looks like a hand sanitizer dispenser which doesn’t nearly do a good enough job cleaning the equipment. The gym as a whole could be kept cleaner. The other thing I’ve noticed every time I come in, the employees at the front desk need to be talked to. I’m rarely acknowledged when I come in. When I went in today, they were all on their phones and didn’t even look up. As a gym manager myself, my employees are expected to greet members with a smile and some kind of greeting. It’s nice to know that you’re welcomed in any place of business.

I was happy with LA Fitness until I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Tony. They shouldnt allow that misogynist to work there! He is unbelievably rude and unprofessional. Sadly, I will not be going back because of him.

Great gym, great staff, and great members. This gym has clean spray bottles everywhere. They are okay with chalk and bags in the workouts area as long as you keep your stuff together. Lots of back shoulders and chest machines that are great. Legs still great stuff to have a solid workout. Free wifi is also a plus. Management really is a good group here. Generally the staff and members are really nice and I completely agree with others saying its not a fashion show. However, this gym is old and definitely needs an upgrade. Machines, squat racks, dumbbells, weight lifting bars, and etc all needs to be upgraded. I didnt mind at first but after a few months it started to really get to me because how much i pay for this membership. Now with the new hourly changes, I am happy to just go down the road to youfit and pay 10 dollars a month and have the same weight equipment available to me. Ill resign when they remodel this gym or lower their prices.

Average gym. It does what I need with no extra frills. Equipment repaired in acceptable time. Not amazing, but functional.

Expensive. If you need to use gyms in different locations they are for you.

Missing many of the amenities of the other locations. No pool, sauna, squash or basketball courts. Only saving grace, perhaps for this reason, its not as crowded as most.

Terrible, equipment is old, gym is not maintained. Theres no directions or anything, trying to figure out where anything is is a nightmare. Staff was paying more attention to their group chat rather than check people in.

Ive never been to any LA Fitness that doesnt have a basketball court before, and this is the one that doesnt have one. I think I will not come back here.

Edit: this location seems to be opening back up next week, after a remodel. Will likely update my review.LA Fitness really needs to invest in this gym considering the volume of people. Perhaps Im spoiled by the new LA Fitnesses in Brandon and Lutz, but the equipment is old and rusty, pads falling apart. Not enough barbells or weights to go around. Nothing is ever stacked or put back. You spend more time trying to hunt down a dog defend the piece of equipment youre using that you actually spend working out. I will actually go out of my way to work out at a better LA Fitness location.

BEST GYM IN WESTCHASE!!

I moved to Tampa not long ago and I was surprised by the staff friendliness especially the manger Nick. The club is well cleaned comparing to the other clubs. Quality people, great machines and staff.

Worst LA Fitness I have ever been to. I cant believe with LA Fitness allows this place to stay open. Very dirty, old equipment, and the equipment is always thrown around the gym. Very disappointed. Do not join this gym! GO TO CRUNCH

Decent sized, but quite a few machines are rusting. Machines are also right on top of each other. The wi-fi never works and phones dont get great reception, so forget about streaming video while you do cardio.
