While my personal trainer there was freaking great and it’s not at all their fault personally, the gym’s “policy” if you have to cancel training sessions totally feels like they’re taking advantage. When I had to freeze my account for personal reasons then decided not to continue my membership to the gym I was told that I would be charged again for a charge of over $100. While I do still get to use those sessions there’s no option to just cancel even though I had made the mandatory 4 payments prior to canceling which is ridiculous and the manager just said “there’s crunch and then there’s crunch billing” I know what a billing department is but what I didn’t know is that there were all these hidden fees they can spring on you instead of just letting you cancel.

Just finished my first training session with Pablo. About 6 years ago, I had an amazing fitness routine, but I fell out of it hard. Im starting from the ground up. Pablo is patient, caring, and pushes hard. Even when I failed, he found the good and redirected my energy. We had a good conversation about life in between sets too. Good trainers are hard to find, but Im glad to have found mine. Give Crunch a try. Invest in yourself. You wont regret it!

It’s student friendly membership plans are amazing. The place is a bit overcrowded during evening times but considering the membership fee, and what all you get with it, I don’t think there would be any other place in and around Tampa palms. The 25 dollar membership gives access to pretty much every unit, the hydro massage, bring your friend, classes etc

SCAMMERS. No regard for customer service. I dont ever write reviews, but this had to be said. I was scammed into ongoing training sessions being told I could cancel at anytime and now impossible to get out of, costing me hundreds of dollars. Im a college student, and they have no regard for the people that attend there. Incredibly rude and deceiving staff, this place is money hungry.

Everything is great about this Crunch location EXCEPT the one girl who works there at night. I unfortunately do not know her name. She prowls around the gym floor making snarky comments about customers in front of other customers. She also interrupts customer’s workouts and ask them to clean up random weights on the floor even if you are using them or they aren’t yours. As if that isn’t annoying enough, she gets on the loud speaker multiple times throughout the evening and yells at customers about cleaning up. I have never heard any other staff member at this location do this. I often see fellow gym goers make a mess and be inconsiderate to the staff so I understand her frustration but cleaning up is HER JOB. This behavior is completely unprofessional and makes this location look bad. I rotate between a few locations throughout the week and no other location has an employee that acts like this.

My trainer for the day, Blessing, was awesome! She pushed me without pushing me. The workout was tailored made for my personal needs & she gave me good tips to continue forward if I dont continue with a personal trainer.

My experience has been great. Chris has been an amazing trainer, working with my limited schedule and pushing me to my limits.

Recently visited this location and the staff show me around he was awesome but unfortunately they dont have child care its hard for single parents to join gym because we cant bring our kids.

Do yourself a favor and pay more for a better gym. Tampa has plenty of other gyms that are far better than Crunch. This is a gym that charges $10 dollars a month and is an absolute zoo even during midday hours, people are on top of each other. It didn’t used to be as bad but it has become insanely busy no matter the time you go. The equipment is old and outdated, constantly out of order and takes forever to be fixed. Management and staff is also poor as they are usually young and have bad attitudes for some reason. If you are in the market for a Tampa gym, I would suggest doing as I have and join with Powerhouse Gym Athletic Club on Hillsborough. Yes, it is more expensive than Crunch but it is undoubtedly less busy even at peak hours, the equipment is state of the art and constantly being updated, if something becomes out of order (which rarely happens) it is fixed very quick. The gym is also massive and has many different areas to work out. The staff is extremely professional and super friendly. If it is a little farther than a gym close to your house, trust me when I tell you it is worth the drive and money, you will not regret it. I used to swear by Crunch as it was a bang for your buck, but once you realize how much better a gym is when you actually pay for higher quality, there’s no going back.

I want to give a quick shout out to Nigel at the Tampa Palms location! The best customer service I’ve experienced while at Crunch Fitness during this pandemic. Tremendous guy with great professionalism. 5 stars!

By far worst experience. Have A single membership to crunch elsewhere, And wanted to expand to multiple gyms and try this crunch. I signed up for a Wednesday guest pass as I went to the front desk they denied me access saying I could not try the gym. Id have to pay and sign before even trying to use this location. I travel for work w hospitals and would have liked to try Tampa Palms Crunch, however NIGEL (front desk) denied me. I even showed his my military ID w the Air Force. How much classier could a gym be. I will now cancel my single crunch and advise colleagues to join other gyms due to the disrespect, professionalism, and direct approach on this. My initial review of this gym was not good, however since then management reached out and fixed the situation. I have since started personal training session and I have gotten results faster than any other trainer Ive ever had. Because of the way management handled the situation and the quality of the gym I absolutely have no problem recommending this location.

WAAAAY too crowded. you can’t even breathe. the staff is nice but since i chose not to take that free personal training hour you get signing up, every day i go a staff will try to convince me to take the class when i have said a million time i don’t want to.

Crunch Fitness Brandon and Crunch Fitness New Tampa are my two favorite places to work out now. Excellent equipment, enough plates for serious lifting, very clean, easy to stay focused, and plenty of classes.

Yes I am being charged 420 for a second time after I made a cancelation for the personal training. I contacted my bank after the 1st time and they were aware now this is the 2nd time that someone has charged me 420 dollars after I signed the cancelation paper. My first personal trainer was Rico V. Now my new trainer name is Pablo and he is the manager here at the tampa palms and hes the manager. he tells me there is none that I can talk to but him and he said exactly to me that I wouldnt get my money returned. Then he proceeded to give me a lecture on paying my bills. I contacted my bank Navy Fed and the BetterBussinessBureau about this location and the scam culture being appropriated at your franchise establishmentCrunch fitness personal trainers run a Bernie Madoff ponzy scheme to keep extracting money off of you. I wouldnt recommend crunch to anybody.

I recently participated in a networking event and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. They also made sure that all of the equipment was clean, and issued everyone a bottle of cleaner and paper towels to help prevent the spread of COVID.

Really big! Every machine you could imagine but from the time they.open until the time they close they are BUSY. If you dont mind that then this is a great gym. Signed up and charged my credit card. Crunch has been processing the payment on my credit card but charging me a 10.00 late fee for not using a bank account. Worse place ever. Wont even fix their mistake. Told me nothing they could do and wont refund the late fees they have charged.

Really amazing, as a people who waiting for family without membership has no rights to use restroom . Very glad to introduce the restaurant next to use for saving your time . Why did you host many activities to beauty your brand ? Only one nice moment is totally enough. Worst experience ever.

Overall clean gym. Mostly all machines are in working order unlike other gyms I have been to. The staff is friendly. It does get busy so find a downtime that works for you.

Icing on the cake, cancelling my membership was hell to go through. Beware! Go to any other gym, I promise you the extra drive is worth it!

Good gym, good selection of equipment, even including decent heavy bags (huge draw for me). Decent sauna. Good selection of group classes. Friendly personnel. Reasonably clean. Very inexpensive. The only drawback is that the gym is quite crowded most of the times - which is not surprising considering price/quality ratio.

If I could give zero star I would. I signed up for personal training sessions there and the day after I signed up the personal trainer was tested positive for covid. I called the gym and asked to cancel because I did not feel safe. The day before the trainer was tested positive he was at the gym and saw clients. The gym never took any measurements to clean the place nor did they notified clients that were exposed. They refused to cancel my training session and charged my account, even though I never dia any session. The place is filthy, overcroweded and just not worth it. I just cant believe they charge me $200 for something that I did not use and not because I didnt want but because they could not render the service. Their excuse was that it was a service that I could use at anytime bit how could I go back to that place? They totally ignored my concerns. I had to quarentined myself for 14 days since I had contact with the trainer the day before he got his results back. Also, lets note that the trainer continue going to work while waiting his results and he never quarentined himself. He was back at work within 5 days from when he was tested positive saying that he was feeling better. Save yourselve the trouble and pay a little more for something good. Crunch in all is just not worth it. They just care about number and careless about your safety.

It’s disgusting in there. None of the staff were wearing masks, and none of the members were either. There was no social distancing going on, and the building was full of people. It was so full of mask-less people, there weren’t any machines available for workout. This business has a clear lack of ethics where the members are concerned, since they seem to want your money with no regard to your health. I will not be returning.

Staff at this location Exposed all of our emails in an attempt to collect from delinquent account. Supervisor spoke to someone else in my family about MY account for 40-45 mins without any verification information from the individual. It could’ve been anyone that they were discussing my account details with. I was lied to by staff several times about the supervisors schedule when I asked to set up a sit down to speak on the matter. Staff is very defensive and combative about topics they do not have knowledge of such as cyber security. One employee told me a Facebook account can not be hacked by using an email address . WHAT A COMPLETE JOKE. I don’t need my bachelors in cyber security to know you can do a whole lot more damage to someone than just hacking a Facebook by just knowing their email address . A lot of the emails addresses (which I contain 220+ of ) are directly linked to Apple IDs!!!! Which means I can randomly FaceTime any of them at any time now since I have an iPhone my self !! Bring on the law suits. Oh and not to mention it smells like they house pigs there at night. I can’t even get a breathe of fresh air because all I smell is everyone’s sweat . It’s disgusting. From corporate decisions to staff, to the smell of this place... it’s all disgusting . Don’t let anyone fool you by telling you they “recalled” your email and took necessary measures to ensure no one’s data is breached! The breach of data was sending out the email to mass recipients! No one can take that back AND WE WILL ALL HAVE EACH OTHERS EMAILS FOREVER ❤️. Because you most definitely cannot assume that all 220+ of these people are going to dispose of all the email addresses they’ve been ever so brightly provided with. THIS FACILITY IS FULL OF DISORGANIZATION AND DISHONESTY to say the very least. And some thorough customer service training is needed for their phone and front desk. If I could leave ZERO STARS and post more evidence of their HUGE MISTAKE, I would. But my evidence contains way too much PERSONAL INFO THAT DOES NOT BELONG TO ME

No one, and I mean NO ONE was wearing a mask. No social distance, no clean machines, and the place was definitely over the maximum number of people allowed. My family and I we all unsubscribed. Disgusting.

My daughter and I have attended this location for about a year. The staff have always been supportive, friendly. There is a diverse group of people working out at all levels and different reasons. No Judgements or feeling out of place.I admit I was concerned with Covid-19 and Crunch opening back up. They have taken many safety precautions, measures with spacing of equipment to temperature checks upon entry and offering cleaning/sanitizing bottles for members who want their own. Crunch also installed extra cleaning stations throughout the gym. Staff go through the gym and clean, including closing down bathrooms & locker rooms at designated times to clean and disinfect. Members are asked to clean weights, machines, balls whatever they use before and after using them.They enforce the New no service policy. No shoes, No shirt, No mask and No Towel no entry.Now go get your healthy on.. Be Strong and Be Safe.

Basically nobody wearing a MASK and NO ONE IS REINFORCING THAT!!! Do not go to this gym. Many of the trainers will try to trick you to a membership such as Cody. Cody was one of the guys who did so. When trying to resolve the issue, Katara was very rude to me and unwilling to help me. Even when I tried to speak to someone else to get clarification, Katara turned the employee away from helping me. Do not sign up at this gym to this place. There are plenty of other gyms that will treat you properly and give you choices without any scams.The owner on here, usually replies to the customers who give bad ratings to blame them for being scammed, and they do not take accountability, which shows their lack of professionalism. Do not go here. The other complaints and low ratings on here refer to these similar situations because it is a re-occuring issue.

Gave one star because they have all the equipment I use. Unfortunately I wanted to try it out before committing to a gym that’s 15 min farther because my LA fitness is still closed. I was sent an email honoring a 3 day trial and when I went an employee named Elizabeth said they weren’t honoring it and made me pay over $45 for 3 days or sign up for 3 months. I would of signed up instead but am moving out of state next week and Arizona’s crunch locations are over an hour away. To sum it up customer service is garbage and either Elizabeth needs training or this gym’s management doesn’t know how to treat people.

Had some issues with the personal trainer and them charging account when stated i wanted to cancel...went in to talk to Gabe and he laughed in my face and undermined everything I said. Then watched him go to his other employees and laugh about our conversation. He gave no solutions and said there was nothing i could do only to find out that there was someone else I could talk to from an actual helpful/respectful employee (Rica). Need some serious reevaluations of employees!!!!

The lack of use of masks enter the facility and during the workouts is disappointing even though it is not required by the state. People just walk right by the temperature check regularly as well.

Was asked to join for 3 months, then told that EVERYONE gets a spray bottle to keep their equipment clean after each use. Youre just required to bring your own towels, one to wipe down the equipment and one to use for yourself. My friend went there as trial with her daughter who is a member and took pics while she was there. No spray bottles and crowded. So much for CDC guidelines on safe distance. I am a healthcare employee who cannot even work out for fear that Ill take COVID Symptoms to my patients. ALL at the cost of a 3 month minimum requirement for a membership and annual fees due at 60 days....over $100 wasted! NOT the 1st time CRUNCH has let me down. Shame on me the 2nd time for believing the hype!

Joined the gym because it was in a convenient location and one of the first places I saw open up in the spring. There is a lot of quality equipment, however Its consistently crowded, which is an annoyance, but not uncommon. What really ruins my workout is when the entire locker room is closed and I cant change into my gym clothes or use the restroom. Going to the gym and being told I wont be able to start my workout for almost another 30 minutes is very disappointing. Staff said I would have to wait, which isnt something I take into account when planning my gym time, and no other solution was presented. Membership cancelled because Im sure there are other gyms that would take this more seriously.

Good facility overall, but very inconsistent with rules. For example, they will tell some people that they can’t have gym bags out, but they will let others walk around with full duffel bags. For example, today, someone was walking around with a Rubbermaid bucket on wheels. Nobody said a word to him.There also is a lack of regulation on behalf of management to curtail excessive use on platforms and other popular equipment. There are people who will use the platform for a full hour and make people wait while the platform user is lifting.

The staff are always friendly and very helpful; thanks Rico. The instructors are amazing, shout out to Ronnie always full of energy and she’s fun! I actually love coming to the gym now.

Editing this again. Been coming here for 4 years and Crunch never dissapoints. But once again staff were not even wearing masks. Even the guy scanning my card had his mask on his chin. I read that staff are required to wear masks but clearly I did not see that. People dont bother to wear masks when social distancing isnt possible and do not wear it regardless. If safety were a top priority staff would be going around telling people to wear masks in crowded areas where social distancing is not possible. Please dont say Safety is your TOP priority when it clearly isnt. This is really dissapointing because its even more crowded than it used to be. I was at the cable machine and there were people to the left and right of me and behind me and a guy using the pull ups bar. If masks are required when distancing isnt possible then why werent these people wearing their masks? And if its REQUIRED then why arent any staff going around telling people to put on their masks in crowded areas?

The best time to go is mornings and afternoons because its less busy. I just started getting personal training here and what I can say is if you find the right trainer its worth the money. I have Jake hes awesome, very knowledgeable and very passionate. Im already seeing great results and its only been two months! The gym itself has a great variety and layout. Any age group can come and feel comfortable here. But like I said, morning and afternoons are the best time because later in the day parking can be difficult.

Personal training mentors are pretty rude. Lost $850 with no service.Reply for the comment: I was told that it was a 2 month subscription but not the commitment.

The equipment is always broken

Sandi L, Instructor, irresponsible, does not show up to her own classes on more than 1 occasion. Doesn’t communicate at all with gym about being late; she just doesn’t show up. Very disappointing and a waste of time; especially when her classes are mostly at 5:30am... Also, an observation, I read the reviews and the responses from the gym owner - not sure if anyone has provided the feedback but the gym owners responses are very condescending and passive aggressive. I’m a new member so I hope to not have the issues shared by others but I strongly suggest for someone else to respond to reviews as it’s currently very off-putting and I would have likely not joined if I would have read them beforehand. One last thing, the guy that worked this morning was not doing temperature checks. Considering masks aren’t required to be worn in the gym (that needs to change as Florida is considered a red state) and now the temperature checks are not done consistently, it’s a scary thought to work out at that gym under the current climate.

Love this place! The variety of the equipment is amazing, anything from free weights to Olympic style lifting. Lots of cardio equipment as well. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

They made me pay for a membership in the middle of a pandemic. I had to pay 170$ to go to the gym three times . And just to make it even worse they made me go into the crunch where nobody was wearing masks. I have an immune disorder where if I get covid I sill end up in the hospital, and they forced me into an unsafe place . Just to make it worse. I went in on a slow day, and they said I could not cancel. So I had to go into the gym a second time to cancel .They don’t care about your safety. Stay away

I’ve been here for about a month and love this gym! It can get busy anytime after 4pm but that’s because this is an area with a lot of students that get off work/school late, so it is expected. I took a Zumba class yesterday with Shaniqua and every color, race, religion, etc danced together and it was so much fun ❤️ I’ve had no problems here so far and the diversity at this location is out of this world! Working out is so much fun, I highly recommend to give it a try before you believe the reviews 👍🏼

I like this gym! Its my main go to. Friendly faces and friendly staff. Best equipment for the price of $10 a month with a annual running you around an extra $40. But if you go everyday your moneys not wasted. Better than Orange Theory (A Joke) dont even consider it a gym and planet fitness whats that on again? Both ridiculous choices. Crunch take my money!

They denied my son from coming in without an ID when I am his mother and he doesn’t have a drivers license at 15. Rude, too crowded and small!

My daughter who is a minor was told to sign up for personal training with a 3 day cancellation option. She canceled it after the first day and still they charged her $249. Be careful with their sales tactics. Slick employees with no morals. Very very disappointed.

If I could give zero stars it still would be too many. Hands down the single worst experience Ive had with a business.The gym itself is fine, not great but fine, however unless you plan to have a membership forever and dont value being respected as a person go somewhere else.It is currently July and Ive been trying to cancel my membership since May due both to general Covid concerns and specific concerns about Crunchs handling of it (which I wont even start to get into here).Crunchs cancellation policy requires you to cancel *in person* and they make that as big of a headache as they can.In the year 2020 there is absolutely no reason to not have online cancellation other than a commitment to extorting your customers. When you add a pandemic into the mix it becomes criminally negligent.I emailed my cancellation to the facility manager at [email protected] along with my reasoning for not wanting to come to the facility.It was four full days before I received a reply saying I could send a certified letter to cancel (why the email couldnt function as that is beyond me), but included no information on what that letter should include, or where to send it. It also included no information whatsoever about who I was talking to. My three follow up emails asking for more information were ignored (even after threatening legal action) as well as my direct messages to their instagram account until I posted a public comment. When I did finally get a response from instagram, they completely ignored everything I wrote in my message and sent me a clearly copy-and-pasted paragraph about cancelling in person. After explaining myself AGAIN, the account (still online) left me on read for two days before giving me the same general send a letter response, answering nothing that I had actually asked, and telling me to call with any questions.After TWO MONTHS I finally managed to get someone on the phone who actually helped me (thank you to the lady I spoke with who has been the single helpful and respectful person throughout this entire process, I am incredibly grateful for your help and I hope they give you a raise because youre apparently the only competent person at this place) and handled all of my questions in under 5 minutes.5 minutes.After two months of desperately trying to contact these people, two months of being charged, two months of having my every effort ignored it took FIVE MINUTES for me to get the information I needed once someone actually made an effort to help me.It took me longer to sit here and type this out.This business has no regard for anything but your automatic payment, the staff are largely uninformed about policies and procedures and uninterested in anything other than superficial niceties in their customer service.These exploitative cancellation policies ALONE should be illegal, but when you have them in a business that gives no regard whatsoever for its customers or community, it creates a perfect storm of frustration and disrespect.As I informed crunch in my three, still unanswered and unacknowledged, followup emails, I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau and posting this review on every platform I can find.

The dirtiest gym in tampa they never clean it

Crunch Fitness is a complete gym with various amenities. The Sauna is great, and so is the equipment.My only problem was the laziness in the front desk area. There were three employees working there when I went, one at the check in desk, and two at another desk very nearby. The one alone was busy with customers and I was waiting for service for five whole minutes while the other two employees stood idly by. It would have been nice if I didn’t have to ask them to go to the front desk to provide assistance to me and the three people waiting behind me.

Best gym ever

Crunch gyms are by far the cleanest and most professional staff facilities that I have been to. Their rates are incredible and I don’t know how they stay in business. But who’s complaining for $10 a month I never thought I would be able to come to such a nice updated and friendly health club. Hats off to these guys who continue to impress me again and again with their courteous service and cleanliness. The PT staff here is very knowledgeable and operates with the utmost professionalism and courtesy. I would train anywhere else.

I like Crunch and I recommend it to everyone I know. I dislike the fact that on your annual renewal they do not call, text or email you a reminder that they are going to withdraw from your account. Unfortunately people with a set budget need notices. Now I have not 1 but 3 29$ bank fees since they attempted to pull it that many times. Im not asking for my money back although I am upset about it. I would just like to see this be put into motion for not just me but all of your customers.

Rude front desk staff; told me I can’t workout here as a guest with someone else with a membership that allows a guest because I have a crunch membership elsewhere;

Signed up for $25 for the first month, was told there was no fee’s by the rep. Less than a week later I got charged $43 extra, I go and ask and they say it’s an annual fee. Turns out the guy who sold me my membership got fired, but they won’t compensate me even though I was lied to and it caused me an $70 overdraft fee too. I’d be fine if they refunded me the fee but they’ll make money even if it means a scummy sales guy lied to me to get me to sign.

Had a 3days free memership in their website. Went there to try a gym drove 30min. And they are saying that they know they have that in their website but wont credit that. Very irresponsible. Also they are recommending mask and gloves in the gym but no memener is wearing that. Very dangergous, also irresponsible gym only care about making money and no resoonsiblity on members health.

Always constructions, Ive never seem a class going on and some people are rude. Which is not the staffs fault. Staff is really good btw

Overall pleasant experience. Great facility. Love the new renovations. The trainers are great. Anthony Davis is always up beat and inspiring. Highly recommend.
