The Central City Y is absolutely the best. It is family friendly and the staff has answer my questions. As a sliver sneaker member I inquired about having extras classes on Thursday and now I am able to attend classes Everyday. The staff is open to suggestions which makes it feels like family working together.

I love this facility - the pool is such a great resource to have so close. The staff are fantastic, and it feels like a welcoming place. Highly recommend.

I went in to sign up my son for summer camp. The two ladies (one seemed to be in charge, the other one in training) that assisted me were wonderful! Very knowledgeable and informative. Super helpful and nice. If everyone that works there have the same attitude and tone that these ladies had with me, Im positive I will not have a thing to worry while my son is at camp.

I am extremely disappointed with the associate Elizabeth who was very rude and did not allow me to bring a guest I have been to plenty different locations and this location decided to create their own rules . As a loyal member I’m just extremely saddened by the lack of consideration for its members. This was one of the reasons I left YMCA 2 years ago and now I was reminded again. I will be emailing the VP about this issue.

Great facility. Large open space, lots of equipment. It has a basketball court, exercise class room and pool. Packed with exercise options for everyone. The only thing missing for me that I get at the Tampa Downtown Y is the Power Plate machine for stretching.

Ms Becky is a wonderful licensed swimming lesson coach highly recommend her 🏊 The director Ms Abanay is also wonderful a great role model for the kids in definitely care about the well being of your kids highly recommend this YMCA Ms Abby Also Is Wonderful she does licensed swimming lesson with the younger kids in she is great with them🏊 come one come all you will not regret it.......

I took the 9 AM Tuesday Spin class and Ricky the instructor rocked it! His enthusiasm and great taste in music made the workout fun! You have to try it!

Always a great community base atmosphere to enjoy your workouts stretches physical trainers and great customer service also with a supportive daycare system for the excellent staff that enjoy watching the kids as they play dance and have creative activities on the side post that was excellent today as our first experience with the swimming lessons today on March 15th 2021 from 5:30 to 6:10 p.m. everyone should stop by and enjoy especially if they have kids out for the summer_spring LOL. Please sign your kids up and dont miss out on the fun and parents still can work out

Ive been a member at many different gyms but this YMCA takes the cake. The staff and instructors are amazing. They remember your name and are so welcoming! The gym is always clean and the equipment is up to date and well cared for. Every class you could want to take is offered, from barre to barbells. There are racquetball courts, basketball courts, a cross fit area, and pool. Membership is an amazing value! Its more than a gym, its a community. Love my Y!

This is our 2nd year at camp and my daughter loves it! All the the staff and administration are amazing. Always keeping us informed about whats going on whether via the weekly newsletter or verbal when we drop off/pick up our kids. You can tell they genuinely care about each and everyone of those kids there. I like that theres a daily schedule, keeps my daughter in a nice routine over the summer as if she was still following a school day. When my daughter is sad its time to go home, that lets me know we made the right decision of who to entrust her summer care with. Big thank you to everyone at Central City YMCA!

Nice spot to get my 45 min work out in before getting the (kid). Mask are required outside of the weight room area. Very sanitize and you cam self sanitize with convenient wipes available.

They need to have better training. How you guys bringing people who dont know the computer system or dont have access to a computer system and put all the not so strong people in one location and a strong people in the other location. But yall got no problem taking people money

Everything is great except the vending machines; should have less drinks so high in carbs, and snacks that are either slim jims or protein bars.

There is something for everyone here. And if you dont find a time that fits your schedule, or a certain activity you want to do at your location, you are welcome at any of the locations. The Y cares about FAMILY. Thats super important. And the people that work there are one in a million. Each and every one of them care. My daughter is thriving because of the programs you make available to children. We are very grateful for the Y. Keep doing what youre doing!

Ive been working out here for 7 years and never had any issues. All the equipment is clean and functions properly.

I have always enjoyed being a YMCA member. I like this particular location because it is never too crowded and the hours are perfect for me to fit in an early morning workout before work! The staff members are very friendly. I would recommend this location to anyone looking for an affordable gym with great equipment!

This is the BEST YMCA in Tampa! Hands down. Yes, it’s small... but the soul of this place is vibrant. Beautiful place for family. I love the staff and I enjoy watching the progress of those who are diligent gym goers.

The fact that they offer Silver Sneakers classes makes it the perfect place to workout. With weight-bearing exercises, I am becoming stronger and more confident about balance issues. Cant wait for water aerobics classes to start.

Hey all. This ymca is the BEST BEST BEST BEST workout area you have EVER been to. PLS come here and sign up to be a lifeguard!!!! Btw the pool does NOT look like a lake. There is no algae. The lifeguard named skylar is definitely the best. Just letting you know.

This facility is fantastic. The staff are always helpful and friendly. The work out areas are clean and well laid out. Also, the pool is WONDERFUL!

Ive never had a bad experience at any Y. Life is what you make it. If I expect everything and everyone to be perfect, or exactly how I would like, theres no doubt Id be unhappy (everywhere - all the time).

Good place to work out. Everyone who works at the desk is helpful. Well maintained rack ball courts. Plenty of activities for children. Pool maintenance could be improved. It is not cleaned relative to the amount of traffic it gets.

I have been going to the Y for over 2.5 years and I have seen such an improvement in what Yohance and his amazing team have made. I have wanted to go to a different gym, just to not pay as much. But the sense of community and support this location provides, is unparalleled. I look forward to the new renovation and taking this gym to the next level! Keep your the great work!

Excellent programs and classes, friendly staff and exquisitely knowledgeable instructors

I was helped by Lenore who is highly knowledgeable of all the programs offered by the Y and she even offered me a tour of the gym. Great customer service! Although Christie makes me feel very unwelcome, I am still rating this location 5stars! Cant let one spoiled apple ruin the bunch!

Totally not sanitary in the bathrooms they dont keep clean or keep up with the bathrooms just plain disgusting I dont see how this place is still even open i wouldnt recommend this gym to no 1 equipment is the only nice things in their but totally not sanitary at all.***Update im addressing the issue that is been going on for a while which is that this location doesnt keep the restroom clean and is very un sanitary so you know the issue so fix it their is no need to me to call who ever thats your job to fix the issue i been a member for years and im planning to find another gym home that cares about their members health and not just their money.

This is a great Y with the most friendly staff! Ive tried out a lot of the different group fitness classes over the years, and you never feel out of place, no matter your fitness level.

Everything is great except the shower - no place to put your dry clothes, it was a water waster, and the drain was backed up.

Worst YMCA ever, their ac in the basketball gym doesnt work its hotter in the basketball gym then out side. Bathrooms are not kept up with

First time their, came in with a friend. Worst place to go play basketball, they were playing real violent, cussing with kids in there. So one got hurt real bad due to how they were playing. Wouldnt recommend anyone to go their for basketball

The Y is always dirty. The back room used for boxing and mat work is filthy and appears neglected. I never see people sweeping, mopping or attending to a hygiene maintenance program like other YMCA branches.
