We took a few specimens out to the shop for identification and had the opportunity to meet Mr. Carlson, (please make an appointment) and got about an hour of his time. What we came away with was priceless!! Not only is he extremely knowledgeable and articulate about that Blue, ALL the jewelry was hardy, solid looking and feeling, and very unique pieces. Super nice people in a clean, large, comfortable showroom. A+++

Carlson was the only authorized dealer in WA/OR willing and able to procure a particular limited edition watch for me. And they were as pleased by their success as I was. Only old-school, genuine customer service here. They also do complete in-house repair of automatic watch movements, including Rolex. And their in-house artists create the most beautiful, skilled, and unique work. Don’t judge this book by its cover; there is no need to go anywhere else.

Good people, fair prices

I was looking to get a watch engraved for a wedding present to my fiancé. I called multiple places in Tacoma and most said it would be at least a week turnaround unless I paid a fee to expedite. When I called Carlson Brothers, I spoke to Victoria. She was so friendly and said I wouldn’t have to pay a fee, they could try to get the engraving done ASAP. I went in on a Tuesday evening and Victoria was so nice and helpful. I left and thought of a different phrase to get engraved and called back and spoke to someone else and asked if I could change the message. It was no problem. Got a call the next day that the watch was done. I’m very impressed with the speed/quality of service. I’ll definitely be back.

The best staff a person could ask for. We perchased a stone and wedding bands separately with a short wedding day window. They had the stone set perfectly with a few days to spare. When we were ready to upgrade the stone I secretly built up the funds In house and the staff helped me to surprise my wife during a “random” visit to the shop. We couldn’t be more happy with Fred and Victoria and the rest of the behind the scenes craftspeople who have made our experiences so great.

I have been going to Carlson’s for probably 40 years. They have excellent service and do beautiful work. Mrs Carlson restrung all my Mikimoto pearl necklaces years ago. I used to come in every few weeks to talk to Carl about gemstones etc. I will be back in there soon. If you need any work done they are the place to go!

Whats not to love about a long time family owned jewelry store? My family has been shopping at and working with this store for 3 generations now. Its beautiful inside and the staff really care about their customers. They work hard to get you the best quality for the money you can spend. I love their collection of agates and the many unique pieces they custom create.I have had a ring resized here, a gold bellybutton rings stone reset and improved, and I have purchased a pocket watch here lately. I had work/repairs done on 2 rings and they did a fantastic job. They got the size perfect, the rework turned out beautiful and they cleaned and polished the rings to a dazzling shine. In addition they checked another ring I had for no extra charge. Their prices are fair and we will be going back for all our future jewelry needs.

The Best! Over the years I have taken several family items here for repair or to be re-worked. The prices are fair, and the staff are professional, knowledgeable, and honest. I had a shank repaired, and when the weld gave after less than a year, they held true to guarantee and fixed it again, no hassle. A great experience!

First off, she said yes! Alright, heres the deal, I was looking for an Ellensburg Blue Agate engagement ring. My (now) fiance was born there and has always wanted a Blue on her wedding ring. One search brought me to these folks, and the final product was simply fantastic. Its not an easy stone to use on such a ring, and I was nervous because I had very little luck in looking for examples to go off of. Fred knew exactly what I wanted and they produced a beautiful ring that she and I get to look at every day. Local business...Family ran...artist in house...I showed up to get some repairs made...ended up designing a bracelet and recieving some minor repairs for free...I dont see myself going to the mall ever again!

I went to this business to have a ring sized I bought on eBay. When I entered the store and went to the counter and explained what I wanted the man behind the counter was snooty and looked at me like I was diseased . He took the ring from me and took it over to his magnifing equipment,looked at it then came back and told me it was not possible to size it due to the setting. He claimed no jeweler could size it without destroying the setting and risking the stones falling out since they were already loose and wiggling around . HE was very condescending and acted like my piece of jewelry was absolutely garbage . After I left I took it to another store and the man told me the reason the stones were loose is because it had been sized down . and sizing it back up would tighten the stones back to where they should be . He did size it and it is perfectly fine and didnt fall apart . in my opinion these people have very little experience with anything thats not a simple prong setting and need to learn how to repaor newer styles . Also not being a jerks would be nice too .
