Great facility! A staff member gave me a tour when I first came and was very friendly. The place was clean and my family has enjoyed swimming there.

Brand new community center in East Tacoma. Opened in October of 2018. Has pools and exercise room, basketball courts. Front desk people seem helpful and friendly.

This was our first time here. But wont be our last. Its very beautiful community center. Great pool and jacuzzi to access for only $3/person. Open 7 days a week. Public free days to access open gym and you have the option to sign up as a member or family pass.

This place is really nice. Clean and doesnt even smell like a gym. I usually go swimming here and theyre pool is pretty large (12 ft max). The exercise equipment is pretty up to date and when used properly will provide a great workout. They have more than one basketball court and even have conference rooms. Wonderful.

Great maternity support teams ours was from there when Emily was born.

I love this pool. I am very sad that it is temporarily closed due to COVID19. I cant wait to get back!

These guys are amazing and doing great thingsHowever, understaffed would be an understatement. Theyre being pulled way to thin and really need more volunteers to help out.

My family loves the community center. We have been going here for swimming lessons and the gym. Its wonderful, has great equipment, is clean and well maintained, and the staff is lovely.

Great, just glad they finally replaced the old East side neighborhood center. It took a long time but at least it got done, and thats all that matters. I love this place

Came here for an event, it was in one of the side rooms. Pretty good sized room. And dont know how much extra it is or if it is extra they were using the kitchen.Their pool looks like it is a good sized, havent been in to use the pool yet. Hopefully it has a shallow part for younger kids.

Nice, new community center. Great facility with nice workout equipment and fun pool for all ages. There is a swirling whirlpool area and hopefully the slide is open now. There is also an area for little kids as well. Great addition to Tacoma.

There was very little fun activities to keep kids entertained. The kids came home each day saying they were bored. I love the boys and girls club but I was very dissatisfied with this location and will probably not go back next summer.

Great pool for kids & adults, hot tub is connected to main pool in the middle so you can watch your kids play, unless they are younger then you have to be by there side.

The people working the front desk did not try to even engage in my serious conversation about my daughters day camp! After waiting 15minutes past the start time not once did they offer to call anyone or help figure out the issue in anyway! I ended up calling metroparks to find out it was only my kid who signed up for this camp (THAT THEY NEVER CANCELED OR HAD ANY COMMUNICATION WITH US ABOUT IT!) Simply put the instructor didnt show up . Regardless of amount of people who signed up communication would be nice. But thats besides the point the people at the desk just in the middle of my conversation with them walked away!!!!! Disgusting how they treat people!

My First visit to this place and it has everything even a pool, reminds me of the boys and girls club back when I was growing up. Awesome place!.

Its new so of course its nice. The gym has good equipment, nice pool. What i dont like is that the pool is so limited for kids. They said this place was build for the kids in the community but sure doesnt feel like it.

Facility is ok, for being brand new it couldve been designed to serve more kids..the pool is pretty small. We had a birthday party there and never again would we reserve for a party. Staff is unprofessional and did not make our child or guests feel special or welcome what so ever. We felt they need to hire staff from within the community they serve, more diversity would be nice. Felt the staff was rude and weird to talk to, unrepeatable to the community.

Took the kids for a second time to swim today. Very nice facility, the kids and I really enjoy the pool. The 4 stars are only because the staff badly needs some customer service training. At a Community Center the employee’s should be friendly to their community. I had to ask the guy ringing us up if he was hating life today because he was so unresponsive. Otherwise like I said, nice facility, we will be frequenting here quite a bit.

Really friendly staff and a new and clean facility. They have a swimming pool with a slide. A basketball court and some other rooms. If they are like any of the older gyms, they have volleyballl court and maybe racket ball ? Anyway I was there for a wedding reception. So we where in a commons area that they obviously rent out 😉

Staff were all friendly. Pool was clean & well staffed! Son loved the 2 story slide! Fun facility! We will go again!

Come here for my P.E. class and their always nice

First Saturday of the month is free open swimming for the 1230 session. Nice facility, staff and a great pool. I also enjoy their afternoon water aerobics class.I do not suggest a birthday party at this place. I’ve always had great experiences here so I booked a pool party for my son. It took about 2 weeks for some one to get back to me after several phone calls voicemails and actually going in to the facility to fill out a request I heard back from staff and was able to schedule a party. I went in scheduled both pool party rooms, paid 200$ and a 100$ deposit.The party was good despite the fact that the staff didn’t have the right paperwork mixed my party information up and literally came in to the party to help her self to some of our food with out even asking. She even ignored my question at the end of the party and kept responding “banana please, banana please” instead of answering my question or being the slightest bit helpful. I just gave her a banana so she would leave us alone.After the party around 3 days later, I called about my deposit and asked when I would receive it back. I was told that it takes a week! I thought this was a little bit longer than normal but I figured oh well. A week has passed and I still have not received my deposit. I called again today and was told that it should only be a few more days. . Slightly frustrating.. just be aware that you don’t receive your deposit back any time soon after the party. .Again the swimming pool is nice, the staff in the pool are great and I enjoyed the water aerobics class. I just won’t ever schedule another party there which is unfortunate because my daughter wanted to have her party there in March. Hopefully we can find another pool.

This facility is amazing. The pool is unbelievable, the work out equipment is top of the line. The gym, the day care the sound studio. I could go on and on, just check it out.

My daughter goes here to work out & sometimes do homework with friends after school while watching swimmers. She was told to wait outside. No kids allowed inside after 6. I was on my way to pick her up later than usual ( traffic on a snow day) She was standing outside freezing ( she left her coat at school) I was upset & went inside when I saw her shaking & teary eyed. I asked staff why my daughter couldnt wait on the bench inside ( she is very quiet & a good kid) He responded with No kids allowed to be inside community center after 6 pm. I totally understand rules I said but its 26° outside & she has no coat she explained she was waiting for her mom to pick her up & snow traffic made her late. He said Its the rules. I said She is freezing you couldnt let her wait on the bench where it is warm. He said No! It was the smirk that upset me more. She could not check back into boys & girls club because once u check out u cant check back in. It was sad & hurtful to know these people are people in my community that are my neighbors. I learned in my church & my millitary upbringing to love the neighbor. This was a hateful place. Looks are very deceiving. They made my child stand outside in 26° weather in the snow crying & shaking & all they could say is its the rules. I am a small business owner. If a child if your child ever came into my business cold wanting to wait to be picked up. I would never ever in my life turn that child away. Oh but wait. Our yearly dues is paid. Were members of this community center. It just isnt right.

Boys and girls club is legit and super helpful for kids after school

I love how I can put my kiddos in daycare and workout. Then head to the pool for toddler swimming.

Brand new clean community center. Fithess gym, indoor swimming pool and laps, basketball court, indoor walking and jogging laps etc. Monthly and day pass and more. Friendly staffs.

As far as a facility goes the east side is great! When it comes to reserving and having a party there I’d rate them a 2 out of 10. I began trying to book a reservation for a party around the 2nd of February for the end of the month. Their party planners are very difficult to get in contact with I don’t know about anyone else but this was my experience. When I finally got a chance to book the party I was told that I could come in early and prep but according to Ben foster the director of the east side business center, I mean (east side community center) if you need to prepare for a party then you have to book extra time for that. Also normally when you make a reservation you are expected to be in the room for the allotted time paid for. At the ecc they like to book parties back to back to back which leaves no time for preperation. In my case I had a reservation for 2:30 to 4:30 I did not get into the room until 2:40 because the previous party was not out yet. As my party was about to end around 4:10ish the staff began rushing me to clean up before their next party at 4:30 all in all if you want to do a pool party at a community center I’d go with peoples center on mlk they have a pool too and you don’t have to pay to set up the event👌🏾

Its a nice area but its hard to understand where it because on one side it says the Boys and Girls club and on the other it just says the school that it share with on the property. They forced us to leave the showers Because it was time but it says not to leave the showers wet because they dont want the area outside of the pool and showers wet.

It was supposed tip be a community center for the community but it ended up being a Boys & Girls Club also so time and space is limited as it being a community center since its being used as a Boys & Girls Club 2 if my kids are not involved with the Boys & Girls Club they are not allowed to go to the community center during the week hours its not fair it was supposed to be a community center before he was up Boys & Girls Club also
