I am basing this review on my initial call for an appointment. I have never been to Pats Automotive before. I had to review this company because I was shocked at just how pleasant and cheerful the person who I spoke with over the phone to make my appointment was!

Thank you Pat,Found the garage from a photo inspection for insurance. Covid times are a bit more trying for all of us. But Pat made it simple, easy, and safe. He was kind and professional and made sure to check on how the inspection could be done so I felt safe and secure.Recently, I slid on some black ice and slammed my tire into a curb. Pat explained the damage clearly, and further quoted out all the other possible problems that the accident might have caused. He then worked to get my vehicle fixed at the cheapest possible cost.Not only did he lay out the minimum necessary work but also clearly explained what he would do if it were his car. I went with his recommendation and my car drives better than before the accident.A great guy, great service, and great location

WARNING! DO NOT GO HERE. if i could have put zero stars i would. This guy pat was very unprofessional. I later found out he did not change the part that i paid him to change. The old part was still there and the new mechanic said all he did was clear the codes. DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE. IF YOU DO, DONT SAY I DIDNT WARN YOU.

Pats put a transmission in my Sons car. Three years later, it is still going strong. Just thought I would give them credit for a job well done

During the last year we have had both of our cars serviced at Pat’s Automotive. We have been very satisfied. Work is well done and Pat explains what is needed very thoroughly. I drove in one day because my car was making a bumping noise. Pat looked at it that afternoon. He found a screw wedged sideways in my tire. Pat took the time to show me where he found it and how it could have been much worse. We will definitely keep going back to this establishment.

I see a lot of bad reviews here and I feel compelled to speak out to support Pats. Pat has worked with my father and I on our Subarus over the years and they are not easy to work on. Pat always did a great job. Maybe he is not the most social person and if you want things done right it takes time. The work that comes out of this garage is quality. Thats all I can say. If you want the work to be great. Take you car here. If you are looking to be coddled and be friends go somewhere else. If you respect them, they will respect you. The work that has been done on my car has lasted for years. I am always certain the work will be done with quality.

Came in to get a photo inspection done for my vehicle at 12:40. The owner approached my vehicle and commanded I wear a mask, even though Im in my car and he was not wearing one. Told me I had to give him a copy of my insurance. While waiting in my car to download my insurance app to send/pull up my insurance card he came out again without a mask. When I informed him I was pulling up the card he took a breath turned away (what seemed to be rage) then turned back commanding me again to put on a mask and that he would not accept anything but a paper copy for his own protection. He was hands down the rudest individual I have come across in a very long time. First and last experience with this establishment.

I came in today for an inspection. I was told over the phone to remain in my car, which I did while wearing my mask. The owner then came out without a mask and told me I needed to roll my window all the way down presumably to have a conversation with him. I told him that I wouldnt because he wasnt wearing a mask and was standing next to my door less than two feet away from me. He aggressively commanded me to wear a mask (I was) and stated he didnt have to because it was his business. Upon reminding him theres a state mandate, he angrily taunted You wear a mask! You wear a mask! (again, I already was) and restated that no, he didnt have to. I obviously left. He was angry, aggressive, and ignorant. Would never recommend as he clearly does not care about his customers well being.

I called ahead for a photo inspection and he told me weekdays 10 am to 3pm, very rudely. So I went that day at 2pm and he was not there. Two days later, I called again in the morning and he told me the same. I arrived at 12:05 pm on a that day. He was there but raised his voice at me and told me he was already late and he wasnt going to help me. I was shocked to say the least. I will NEVER come here for any reason. There are so many other places in Syracuse. If you need a photo inspection Kosmas in Mattydale was wonderful and nice!!!

Trying to sum my experience up. I called helped me out the best he could with my transmission warranty issue, I was under the impression it was a $50 charge for diagnostic but if warranty approved claim they would cover it however they did not cover it. So I contacted my dealership where I purchased car from and they prompted me to have my vehicle towed there, I called Pat to let him know around 3pm. He pretty much got upset and said so thats just it? your going to just take your car and I dont get anything for diagnosing and talking to your warranty company So since i was under the impression of the $50 diagnostic charge i figured he would have charged me correctly. However he said he wants atleast $100 i said ok, called him back with my card number and then he sounded guilty for overcharging me. I paid the 100 anyways with no arguement. And reminded him of my car getting towed. What a coincidence the tow company gets there and he locked up shop early by about 2 1/2 hrs not even leaving the key for them to tow it. Seemed to me as if he spitefully closed early since not once did he mention he was closing early when he was giving his guilt talk and about 20 mins later tow company calls to tell me shop was closed. Things like that dont sit with me well.

Pat’s Automotive was the only place that would look at our car over the holiday weekend. On top of that, they were able to identify the problem and repair our car within one day. Pat and his team were knowledgeable, personable and fair. We will go to them again and highly recommend them to others.

Terrible service, terrible attitudes. They must stay in business because of family and friends. Just awful. Avoid at all costs. Im glad that other people have had a good experience here. They must all be relatives. My experience was just awful. I brought my car in at the scheduled time and more than two hours later, when I hadnt heard from Pat, I called to find out what was happening. It still hadnt been seen. When I asked when the owner thought he would be able to take it, he said he had no idea. There was no way he could tell me when he could look at it!. When I said I had a 10:30 appointment and didnt understand what happened, he was very irritated and said things happen and my guys havent even had lunch yet Pretty shocking customer service. I guess he has all the business he needs. But he wont have mine. When I went in to pick up my key, without ever getting any work done, he just sat there and smiled in a weird way at me. I got my keys and said, arent you even going to apologize for not looking at my car and wasting my whole day? And he said, Are you trying to pick a fight?? What!!? Just absolute craziness. I wouldnt even trust this man to water my lawn, much less work on my car. Dont waste your time here unless you are a friend or relative.

I have an older truck with high mileage. I stopped in to make an appointment to drop it off a week in advance to get it fixed ( I was the only one on the whole page and at 8am). I let them know right at the start that I needed the emergency brake and heater fixed, and check on a leak with the oil. I just needed it band- aided for inspection to get me thru 1 more year. The day of, I got it there at 7:45. I didnt hear from them for 7 hours. So I call and get one of those well little lady speeches. I get down there to find out they hadnt done anything. Again they had it for 7 hours. He tells me hes not going to charge me for anything. ??? They didnt do anything!! He shows me the truck and its bad underneath. No kidding. Thats why I brought it there. They were rough getting it up and down from the lift, they rifled through my glove compartment leaving a mess over the seats ( Im missing a power bank that was in there, but cant prove it was them), nothing fixed, and it rattles now when driving. Then he has the nerve to try to sell me his daughters car for 7 grand. Really? He might get some good reviews, but I would never recommend this place at all. Stay away.

Came in to get pictures taken of my vehicle for insurance purposes. Staff were very helpful and professional. I was in and out they took care of everything in a timely manner.

Terrific experience, would highly recommend to anybody needing their vehicle service. The staff is friendly and honest, willing to help out in any way they can. They charge you for just the parts and labor, and dont try to overcharge you. Also fixed my coolant system much sooner than I anticipated, and I see myself returning here for my servicing needs down the road.

Owner is obnoxious and rude, stopped in twice to get service done and both times talked down to me. Ill take my business elsewhere and let everyone else know to do the same.

The owner was rude to me on the phone when I called and asked for a service date. We still did not give up on him since he is related to my sister-in-law. My daughter went over for some insurance work and the owner was rude and nasty to her as well We will not be giving this man our business ever and would not recommend going there.

This business fixed the issue he was having with his vehicle in a timely manner. He said they treat him fairly and they do a good job. He is happy with the service they provide.

Changing from 5 to 1 star. Always got inspections from this place. However this time when I went there . Owner from far away said mask is requirement, which I had and wore. But then he started inspection kept coming closer without mask. I asked why you not wearing a mask. He said he doesn’t have to. It is his business, which I am sure is. But doesn’t make sense, customers are asked to wear mask, which is good, but to be protected the workers should wear a mask too. Then he went to verbal rampage and was asking he can cancel the inspection. I said go ahead, do it. Now will get inspection from somewhere else

I went in today to get my vehicle inspected.. I was explaining to the owner that I had been having issues getting my truck to pass and the place I brought it to had told me I needed to clear 1 more code for it to pass.. When I said that, he said well whats wrong with it ? I told him I wasnt sureand that there had been a couple things I had fixed recently we thought was the issue.. I asked him if he could do the inspection and he said Im not comfortable getting into something that someone else has been fixing already.. If you want a diagnostic test it will be 79.00. So basically he wouldnt even attempt to look at my truck . All that I can see he did was judge me and my situation, rather than try to help me out and figure out the issue. He was a complete jerk to me and acting stuck up. I went to Valvoline right after and they inspected it and they were very professional and nice to me. I will never go back to Pats Automotive again and I only live right up the street. I will never refer this place to anyone..

The first time we took one if our cars to Pats, it was because we were new to the neighborhood and it was the closest place to our home. Whats kept us coming back, though, is not just the convenience of the location, but that they provide quality service and can always squeeze us in. The cars are always ready when they say that they will be, and we receive helpful service reminders online and via mail.

Its a pity theres no option for zero Stars. I was misquoted on two different repairs with this garage they completely lied and told me parts need to be replaced when there was indeed no issue with the parts at all. I corroborated this with two separate garages. My father took his car there unbeknownst to me for inspection, and shortly after had the check engine light come on. I took him to my mechanic who ran a diagnostic and found that there was a sensor error with the air filter. We open up the filter box and there was a rag stuck into the air filter conduit. They must have put it there hoping that it would cause issues and force my father to come back. absolute disgrace that they would do that to someone. Steer far away from this place they are crooks and only care about taking your money.

Brought my wifes van down for a estimate to repair the exhaust on 8/16/18 . Left it for several hours heard nothing, called late in the day to see if they looked at it yet Pat the owner answered the phone with a attitude and said no that his day is not over yet. I said ok .. let me know . He finally called and said it would be $923.00 and the parts will take 3 days to get in and also he needed to charge me $50.00 for a estimate and that if the work gets done he will refund the $50.00 . He never mentioned at the time of drop off that he would charge me $50.00 for a 10 min estimate. On 8/23/18 I called Pat and told him to order the parts and that I will bring it in the following Thursday 8/30/18 to have the work performed. So today 8 am 8/30/18 I called to make sure the parts were there talked to his worker who didnt know and would have Pat call me. Pat never called me . I called at 10 am talked to Pat and he said he would call the parts people right now . Noon arrived, nothing heard from Pat I called talked to Pat again and said he would call. Finally at 1:30 pm Pat calls and said the parts are now on back order for a week . I told Pat I dont know if I can wait then Pat became biligerant towards me, I said I wanted my $50.00 back for the estimate . He hung up the phone. I tried to give this shop a chance . Never again . I did file a complaint with the state and attorney general. Please stay away from this guy. He must have friends and family give false feedback.

The business got his vehicle in quickly, fixed the problem and called when it was ready. The price was high. He could not ask for anything better.
