I was a member of fitness 19, Sunnyvale location and the gym temporarily closed due to Covid and later it was permanently closed. And my call to fitness 19 about membership cancellation location were unanswered.I recently found out going through the account statements that Im still being charged monthly for the membership fee by a different gym. Apparently the memberships were sold to UFC gym which has been charging monthly without me showing up at their location which is different than the fitness 19 location which I last visited a year ago. UFC gym is not refunding the amount charged for the whole last year!!!Luckily I am able to cancel their forced membership just today so that there are no further charges showing up in my account statements.
Probably the worst place to go to. Stay away from this place during COVID!! I asked them to cancel my membership 8 month’s ago. This week I get a call from saying I owe them 500$ for the member which I didn’t use and asked them to cancel months ago.Horrible service please stay away if you don’t want to experience what I went through.
This gym facility is really nice. I would say one of the best in the Bay Area. Their front desk staff are usually nice and very courteous. But at times they don’t respond well. You need to really run behind them to get things done. That was my previous experience. But now during Covid era I see they improved a lot. They are making sure people are following all the Covid protocols and keeping their masks on (most important at least to me).You will all the gym facilities one can imagine. I see many body builders (all muscular man with six packs, very strong and fit girls ) around ☺️☺️I strongly recommend this gym to friends and family and to everyone.
Ive never seen a gym as full as this one, and theres only one leg press 45, all boxing classes are always full, there are no seats available, the BJJ always has spaces available but sometimes there are 40 people at the same time. Definitely look for another gym. It leaves a lot to be desired in boxing training. Impact is the best in terms of martial arts and 24hr fitness is the best in terms of equipment, and this is the most expensive gym in the region.
Do not give them your credit card information !!!!! The managers are conveniently not on site or off for a week if you try and talk to them in person, they also wont respond to any other form of communication. There are multiple better options around the area, avoid this gym and the staff here.
My friends and I (10 of us) all used to love UFC and have been a loyal member for at least 2 years before the pandemic hit in March 2020. 2 months into the pandemic last year, we realized that it’s unlikely that we would be back to use the gym any time soon so we tried to cancel the membership. UFC did not respond to any of the multiple calls, voice mails and emails we made. Since our card stop being charged for a period of time, we were under the impression that our accounts got cancelled successfully until we received a letter from debt collection agency trying to collect membership dues since November 2020. It’s outrageous receiving a letter from debt collection agency having not used the facility since March 2020 and never heard back from UFC. I called the manager and tried to cancel my account, the manager pushed me to continue paying the membership to freeze the account. Now my request has to be sent to their accounting team to review and still can’t be assured that my account gets cancelled. It’s simply ridiculous and outrageous!!!!
Started going to this gym recently and Ive got to say its great because of the following:1) Plenty of equipment & machines (currently part of the parking lot also has equipment to workout on, so its nice working out outside)2) They have a lot of interesting/varied equipment3) Classes have really good coaches4) Staff is friendly5) Energy is great, especially in the eveningsThey have cleaning supplies everywhere, and hand sanitizing stations. This is a one stop shop. The only thing I would say to look out for in the evenings is parking. Since its a peak time & part of the gym takes some of the parking lot space. Other than that its one of the best gyms in Sunnyvale Ive been to, and Ive been to several.
A lot of hidden charges. You basically need to tell them 2 months in advance when you want to stop their services. They will try their best to charge you wherever they can.
BEWARE OF HIDDEN CHARGES!!Both me and my wife were double charged in February 2021. We only noticed it when we closely watched our account statements. They also charged an extra $49 to both of us for some unknown reasons. They have many hidden charges. After this we have been chasing their manager Autumn and Antonio for the past 6 months and havent yet received our money back. Either these people are highly incompetent Or very smart. Please be aware.
Been charged twice. Been chasing autumn down for the past 3 months. Still haven’t received my refund. Do not recommend this gym!!!!!
Through pandemic my account was frozen so I didn’t get charged. But one day out of no where I started getting billed. I called them and I was told they sent out an email regarding billing.I checked my emails and I did receive an email, it was a long email with a lot of unnecessary information (which rarely anyone reads) and towards the end it was mentioned that the billing will resume.Resuming billing after more than a year is important information, why won’t you just mention that in the subject of email? Or maybe at the top of the email? or maybe send a separate email for that information? After multiple calls and emails requesting them to refund my money and cancel my membership, they didn’t do it and I had to go in person to cancel my membership. And yeah they didn’t refund the money they charged me for not using the gym.
This is one of most horrible gym ever. They transferred my membership from fitness19 sunnyvale without my consent. I have been trying to contact them to cancel my membership ever since then. They ask me to come to california to do it. I currently stay outside the state. Please never join the gym
Best gym in Bay Area. Very good high intensity programs, lot of equipments. Many classes as per individuals interest like kickboxing, Zumba, dance and more. They have maintain good sanitation.
Bad experience in this gym! Unfriendly billing and cancellation policy!!They will charge you when you are not aware. They keep charging me every month after March, not refundable! Even if they did not successfully inform me about their reopen and even if I did not use their services even once for months. They are unwilling to refund me. If you wanna cancel the membership, you have to still pay for weeks before you are actually moved from their payment list. Think about it if you wanna subscribe in this gym.
Been charged extra and been chasing autumn and Tony for months still havent been able to reach them. Stay away from this gym
Decent gym, has the essentials. The superb customer service you receive when signing up quickly fades after they have your money and become unresponsive and unprofessional when it comes to making any changes to your existing membership. They charged me twice for my membership dues and it took many calls and follow up to get the refund process started for the double charge. They are now saying it will take TWO MONTHS to send me a simple refund. This is an ongoing situation that has not been resolved as of writing this review, and they are making this a very hard process for an error that was their fault.
Love this gym. Not too crowded as the many times throughout thr day I have been in, I am able to use the variety of machines I want/need. Locker rooms are always clean. I also love the fact that they have a small cafe where I can get some food and a protein smoothie before work or running errands after my workouts.
The classes are good. The coaches are intense but personable
Great place for kids to learn some gymnastics and expend their energy. Takes good cleaning precautions during this Covid situation. Plenty of parking.
PACKED! everyone had their masks on but training hard. Happy days are here again!
During pandemic we called to cancel membership, they said it automatically freeze our account. However they just sent an email to tell everyone reopen no particular notice. We never ever go after pandemic but still being charged and they refuse to do anything with it. Feel really worst when you being charged but didnt even ever go.
The gym closed while due to covid. I called to cancel my account. I was told it was done and that I would not be able get my things out of the locker. They continued to charge my account until I was able to send an email to them later. I would not recommend them to anyone.
I do not recommend it because many of the instructors are terrible they laugh at you instead of helping you
Thank you Tony for your hospitality! This is a large gym, but due to covid restrictions they had to move some of their equipment outside.Tony, the general manager allowed my team and I to work out even though we were not members. We were in the area due to a local fire, and wanted to work out during our off period. We were very thankful that Tony had the fortitude to keep the gym open during this trying time for businesses by moving a large amount of equipment outside for the members. There was plenty of equipment to use, and everything was in good condition. Tony could not have been nicer, a great guy.If I lived in the area, I would feel good about joining this gym.
I joined the gym in March and I was not informed about the complete charges I would have to pay. Then I transferred my membership to a two year plan and I thought I would only pay once but even after the complete payment I was charged immediately the next month. Had dropped their manager a mail but never got a response. Please do not give them your credit details.
Dropped in while traveling for work. Very friendly staff and members. Easy to sign-up and drop-in.
Really bad at refunding money. they pretty much stop responding to you. It has been over 4 months and Im STILL waiting for my refund. I bought a 3 year pass that i cant use, due to the lockdown, yet they still charge their yearly fee even when you cant train. Very poor customer experience. If I could give them zero stars, I would.
This gym falsified a personal training agreement in my absence after I didnt visit in over 11 months (due to COVID). I used to love this place, but sadly it isnt the same anymore. To quote the great Dave Chappelle the milks gone bad folks!
The have a lot of shady practices of falsely charging customers even after they have discontinued their membership. Lot of my friends and I have experienced this.
There are hidden charges which they won’t tell you upfront. They will double charge you and even after reaching out refunds they will ask you to follow up on emails which they never reply
I have a cancellation confirmation from them stating the last date that they would bill me and they continue to bill my card after this date.
Big, organized and very decent gym.
Best gym in Northern, CA especially under Tony’s leadership! Such a good-spirited guy that is well respected amongst the members and his staff. I live in SF and drive an hr to this gym because of its people and all the programs provided: Standard gym systems, weights combined with Jiu-Jitsu, boxing, kickboxing, wrestling etc.
I was told my membership was cancelled almost a year ago, but they started charging me out of NO where. Requested a refund (because the stole nearly $400 from me now) but getting no response. Do NOT go here!!
Just signed up for a 3 year membership at this gym, its that good! Wide range of classes from kickboxing, boxing, fight fit and other high intensity classes. Classes go as late as 8pm so I can get there after work, and the coaches are so helpful in assisting with technique throughout the class. This gym feels like youre part of a community. (Also: lockers are clean!)
This review is for Andrew Aumend. Andrew has been a great facilitator of my personal fitness goals working with me as a trainer on proper form, technique, diet and education. Andrew takes the time to work with you on your personal roadmap for where you want to be and has the knowledge and experience to really mentor you through that process while maintaing a professional etiquette with just the right amount of motivation to help you understand your potential. I look forward to my sessions with Andrew and am happy happy he’s at the UFC GymThe UFC Gym is a great place to sign up if you’re looking for a gym that has a bit of everything as well as things you would expect that come from the brand name - full size octagon, BJJ, heavy bags, etc and offers a variety of different classes to help you achieve your goals.
UFC Gym Sunnyvale is a great place. Ive been a member for about 2 years and I can say that its worth each penny. We have classes every day, very good and caring coaches (Sean, Stefano, Mono, Erick, Trevor and many more) and the staff is just like family. And for sure, the biggest perk is the Kids Club, Joe and his team do miracles with the kids. The only down side is that I dont have enough time in my schedule to attend to more classes (: Hands down the best place gym Ive ever been part of.
The classes in this gym are by far the best I have ever been to.
Great everything. Friendly and knowledgeable trainers, clean and well-organized facility, plenty of equipment, awesome classes. Lots of special events to make things fun.
Very motivating gym. Love the smoothies, the UFC gear is a must. Great great daycare staff. All the staff is very friendly. Me and my family always feel very welcome.
Great place to train, have classes with amazing teachers, learn martial arts, in a fun and super clean space. There is a cafe serving smoothies and snacks, which I love specially when I sun directly from work.
Love this gym. Recommended.
Everyone is super friendly. I’m a fan of how often they have fitness challenges to win prizes/raise awareness for a cause. All the members I’ve befriended have obvious relationships with other members of the gym and it’s nice to see them constantly interacting with different faces. All of the classes I’ve seen them offer have great coaches leading them. Personally, I have been looking for a new Muay Thai team to join and Coach Marc has established a solid team that has so far pushed me to grow and face my areas of weakness head-on. Shout out to Dan!
Awesome gym in Sunnyvale that offers a great environment for solo workout, group classes or strength training.I would have stayed if we didnt move - sign up and cancellation was easy just follow the directions. The boxing conditioning classes and daily ultimate training classes are great and is a kick in the butt, I workout 4-5 times a week and still find those classes challenging (of course you have to push yourself). All the staff is great, from checking in to the coaches that lead the class. Friendly, professional, awesome.Bathroom/locker is not the most world-class, but who cares? you go to the gym to change your body and define yourself, most of your time if not all should be spent on the floor not in the bathroom anyways.Try it out and stick with it! UFC Sunnyvale offers something for everyone.
Favorite gym ever. I love this place. There is such a variety of classes from yoga, to self defense, to a daily ultimate training class that all accommodate for people of any fitness level to participate. Plus they have normal gym machines and weights. All the coaches are helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Special shout out to Tim and Angie! They even have a smoothie bar inside. Its an all around great atmosphere. My only complaint is that I never want to go to another gym ever.
Great gym in general. My work out today was ruined by coach Hannah Yen who wouldnt let me join the class late due to a 10 minute rule, which was abolished. Avoid this trainer and enjoy the ones who are there to get you fit.
Just wanted to leave a positive review here as my interactions with the staff has been nothing short of terrific. Kenny, Tony, Dan, Hannah, Mark, Yusef, and Autumn. Theyve all been very easy to talk to, patient, and accommodating. Theyve answered my questions in person, my texts, and e-mails. Even with their busy schedules, Ive never felt rushed with any of my them.I look forward to training at this gym throughout my membership duration! Thanks UFC Sunnyvale!
Dont take any long-term membership in this gym. While signing, they will give all kind of false promises and hurry you to sign the agreements which are so big long that you will ignore reading most of it even if you want to. Then there is no way of getting out of the agreement once signed, as it has so many fine print loopholes to make sure you will never get your money back. Here are some of them1. You should move 25 miles away from the gym to cancel your membership. Why the hell does the gym need to care where do you move? If you are not happy with the gym, you should be able to cancel the membership at any time.2. If you need to almost give 2 months advance notice before leaving the gym. why?? What is taking so long that you need such an absurd amount of time to cancel a membership?3. Finally, if you are tolerant enough, okay with the above conditions and signed a long-term agreement say 3 years agreement like me, there is another condition. You can cancel only in the first year and you will not get any refund if you cancel after it.I was finally caught at the third point and didnt get any money back. I clearly remembered asking the representative about the cancellation policy and he said that I can cancel anytime to get the refund. I am pretty sure, if I satisfy the third condition, they would have got some new absurd rule to stop refunding back my money. There are lot many good local gyms in the neighbourhood and definitely will not recommend this gym for long-term members.
Have been working out with UFC GYM Sunnyvale for two years. Love very part. Great group classes, especially love U-JAM, Strong Zumba, Yoga, Kickboxing. friendly instructors, clean facilities.
I have gone to 24hour fitness, 19 fitness, American barbell gym and few others, UFC Sunnyvale is best value for money. Equipment is clean, staff is friendly and cooperative. They have two sets of free weights, 4 squat racks, 6 bench press. Wait time is not much except during evening 5-8 on weekdays. Only negative is that staff is that it is getting crowded due to many offers going out for UFC gym these days.

This is the best gym I’ve every gone to compared to every other gym out there! It’s a 24hr facility, equipment is amazing, has the boxing bags, the octagon, a kids club, various classes, food and snack bar, Olympic platforms to do your lifts, & the facility is very clean. The staff is sooooo friendly, I’m always looking forward to going there because it’s such a great environment.
The stuff is nice, the machines are in nice condition. Very satisfying overall.
Excellent jiu jitsu program at around 1/3 the price of every nearby academy, cant recommend it enough!
Ive never left a review on anything until now. This place smells like pure body odor especially at 10am and 5pm when they run 30person classes. They set up 8 different station throught the gym and all these middle aged, non showered, no deodorant-using men and women r running around the ENTIRE gym, stanking up the ENTIRE 30k sq ft facility. Like I open the entrance to the gym and want to puke. Unless u r okay with BO, dont go here.
UFC Sunnyvale has come along from its opening last January. Its gone from barren to popin in just under a year. You kind of get the best of both worlds, if you enjoy skill and technique classes but also the flexibility of being able to work out at your connivance. Keep up the good work guys!
Be aware of the payment and the plan. I enrolled in fitness plan which is $44.00/month, and they charge me $79.00/monthly plan which i dont need it. U need to make sure of it. Good Luck.
They will try to scam you to get every single penny out of you. Dont believe anything they say and keep your receipts if you end up making the mistake of starting a membership with them.
Love the energy, people, styles of training and equipment. Not 5 stars because they run out of paper towels and sanitizer quite frequently, but that means people are busting their butts in the gym. Look for deals to sign up on $0 intro fees. I love the ultimate classes and all the knowledge the trainers hold. If you want a transformation, maintenance or want to push yourself to the next level, this is the place. Best gym Ive ever been to hands down.
Your wi-fi is unusable! Plz do something about it!
Getting points for a free drink was much better before, now its more pints for a smaller drink. And staff trainers dont wash hands after restroom. HEADS UP !
I have trained with these guys a lot and they are a friendly bunch. Not your ordinary gym this is... You make real buds here.
I regularly start my weekday mornings at the UFC Gym Sunnyvale. Its a great place to workout with a friendly staff, free weight section, squat racks, strength training machines, treadmills, elliptical machines, bikes, row stations and of course an octagon. A nice variety of music when they are playing UFC Radio. The only real downside to me is the lack of wipe down/sanitizing stations. There are a couple in the main area, but they are frequently out of paper towels and spray. It would be nice if they added a few more sanitation stations and kept them stocked. Just missed the mark of being a 5 star gym - but leaps and bounds above the other gyms I checked out before joining UFC Gym Sunnyvale. Now where is that dry sauna?
Shitiest gym, not only in Silicon Valley, but in all California. Only good thing is UFC branding. Posers all around, cleanliness is always terrible, not enough showers, and the few existing aren’t working properly.
If you are thinking about taking cycle class, beware of the bikes! UFC does not spend the funds to maintain their equipment. This is one of the most basic things to take care of at a gym. Last class had five bikes which could not be ridden #13, #4, etc. Riding a bike that skips when you attempt to spin is dangerous!
Lots of equipment and more that may not be found at other chains. Some reviews mention cleanliness problems, but I havent seen anything that made me not want to use an equipment. There isnt someone cleaning a machine seconds after use, but I have yet to see any sweat stains or such.
Great gym! Clean and has everything you need. Awesome for mma/boxing lovers.
Great place to have peace
Mask is not invincible — simple as that
My family and I join in on a special promotion last year and for unfortunate circumstances we had to cancel due to moving from the area.I was told to sign In person the paperwork to cancel all 3 memberships: wife, son and mine and I was charged again after cancellation. After calling and e-mailing multiple times I still dont get an answer. As you can imagine 3 memberships total over $200 amount and Megan the Manager still does not have any feedback from corporate. I just cant believe they can sign you up in a heart bit with your membership and do their tricks to swipe your credit card but cant fairly treat you for a mistake they made by not proceeding correctly with the cancellation.
I attended twice a couple months back using the date rate. The first time was ok and associates were nice. The second time I was approached by the lady manager because I brought a fighter I train to work out. She said I cant hold mitts for him. I questioned the difference between that and two friends working out together. Apparently one of the trainers (a guy who was not fit in my personal opinion) felt I was stealing his thunder because all eyes were on us. We were monitored the rest of the time while trainers stood around discussing us. Then one of the employees began to record us on her phone while we worked out in the octagon to cause a scene . Hard to believe they represent a great brand like the UFC. I dont plan on going backIf your a personal trainer at least be more fit than the people your are training. It looks bad when you are advising someone to do things your are not utilizing yourself.
The best gym Ive ever visited or trained!
Your guest wifi is unusable, do something about it
I pay my monthly membership and just the other day I was verbally abused by an employee of this gym changes need to made asap
Love this place, but Im a little disappointed they cut back on the fight fit class! In my opinion you get more cardio in that class then any DUT class, I leave the fight fit class and feel like I went to war, I leave the DUT class and feel like had a challenging work out, Tim is awesome instructor and has motivated me to show up to his class more so then any other class because its just that much more challenging In my opinion its full body like the DUT, but you get to use punches and kicks also.
PHONY ACCOUNT SCAM!Please be aware about the contract/payment scam. They associated my account with one more bogus contract with a fake name and charged my credit card twice for $234. Ive been trying to resolve this issue and get my money back for 5 months already without any luck.
I am 63, retired, a typical overweight geeky Silicon Valley nerd who rarely worked out a day in his life and doesnt even know the rules of basketball (think Sheldon and Leonard). Then last year the UFC Gym opened across the street from where I live. The convenience and the closeness to New Years made me resolve to join. They gave a free training class and I got an introduction to hell and realized Id better take a few more training classes just so I wouldnt hurt myself.I was extremely fortunate to get Katy who specialized in older people with disabilities. My life-long poor computer posture gave me a pinched nerve in the neck that weakens my right arm and hand. I also have terrible balance issues.A few training sessions later I became hooked. I saw very rapid progress and weight loss. I became a lot more confident in using the equipment.I have had training classes once or twice a week for about 6 months now. I go there 6 days a weeks for about 1.5-2 hours. On even days I do strength training and sometimes have a training class, on the odd days I do cardio workouts solo. I take Sundays off.I usually go around 3 PM when it is not so crowded, but often I will go at 6 on my cardio days so I could watch the Daily Ultimate Training class while I use the elliptical.I do not use the heavy weights at all, nor the weight-lifting stuff, but I have used most of the other gear.I see a lot of the same people working out at the same times, Ive watched a lot of the personal trainers give classes. There are all types of people working out: I see the body-builders - men and women. Lots of women doing very difficult exercises. Lots of women doing the group exercise classes, but not so many men in there. The kids classes are fun to watch, they really seem to be enjoying themselves. And I also see a few disciplined handicap people regularly. The employees are very nice and friendly, the place is kept very clean. The equipment is new, but once or twice when something broke down it was quickly repaired. There are several hand sanitizer dispensers spread throughout the gym.The gym floor is a tough, non-skid material which seems perfect for good traction and pain-free falls. They keep it very clean at all times. The locker rooms are clean. Since I live next door I shower at home, so I dont know what they are like at the gym.I enjoy the Octane Fitness elliptical with its programmable MMA setting. It simulates a bout and reacts to you as an opponent. Levels above 20 are brutal. It takes the boredom out of a 30-minute cardio interval workout and leaves me soaked with sweat. It has adjustable weights as well so you can have a flexible workout without leaving the station. The FreeMotion is my most frequently used weight machine - very flexible. But I do use a few other cable machines for rowing and lifting and to target my problem areas.I also use the small dumbbells, kettle bells, resistance bands, Bosu balance balls, etc. Most of my exercises are the functional type, not so much targeting a specific muscle. I focus a lot on my balance and core muscles.I wrote this specifically to address my fellow geeks who desperately need to be more health-conscious in this frazzled techno-culture called Silicon Valley. Although the name is UFC, the focus is on all-around fitness, not necessarily fighting. I think if you gave the place a try-out you will like it.
I can call this my gym now since Ive been working out here regularly for the past couple of months :) yay for not being lazy!Definitely an upgrade from regular gyms like 24 hour, crunch, etc.. but thats because you pay for it. However considering everything, I think the price they charge is reasonable and worth the membership.- its open 24 hours- it has typical gym classes (yoga, trx, body pump, etc) and fighting classes! (MMA, jiu jitsu, wrestling, kickboxing, etc) *** this requires special membership- new and better equipment- for any powerlifter, oly lifters, etc... they have two platforms where you can practice cleans. snatches, deadlifts, and so on- ROUND PLATES (this one is huge for me because I do not like hexagonal plates.. yes Im referring to 24 hour fitness -_- )- The Octagon: when not used by classes, you can use it yourself if you ever need to be in a cage with nice mat floors- kickboxing area: since they have kickboxing classes, they have an entire area of the gym dedicated to it which is nice because you can go on your own to punch/kick or play around with the 100lbs dummiesOverall I think this gym has numerous amenities. But some of the downsides (and its trivial) are:- its pricy: its not cheap but its not ridiculous expensive either. Its somewhere in between and worth it if you gym quite often.- you have to bring your own lock! I use to gym at 24 and they had the lockers with built in locks which was super nice so I always keep forgetting my lock...- Its pretty crowded... but not as crowded as most commercial gyms. It also really helps if you go during off hours like late at night or middle of the day.Overall this gym has made me happy and if youre in the area, definitely give it a try!
The best gym ever
Imma start training again Beast is alive risperdal make u fat
Two words: round plates.
Good gym!
During the pandemic they looked for a way to stay open as soon as possible was one of the few if not the only one that stayed open adapting to new needs. Excellent place
It was a good first experience! They were very cordial!
Recommend.A good place. I did a little work with bro!
I have been in the gym for two years and my results have been Mui Vien
