The barbers were good. But the in-shop ATM charges 2.50 dollars for withdrawal. Take cash when visiting.

I discovered Owens about a year ago, and its now the only place I get my haircut. They do a great job and you cant beat their prices. Great atmosphere inside this barbershop.

Good prices and fast service. If youre looking for a fairly standard haircut that looks great this is the place.

I got there at 10am (opening time), and there was already a small group waiting at the door. Walk in, and all the barbers are standing behind the barbershop chairs. You just walk up and sit down in one of the open chairs. I told the barber how I wanted my haircut, and she did it EXACTLY like I showed here. As others have commented--very fast! No more than 15 minutes. $12. It was a very lively place, everyone was talking (customers and barbers alike). I loved the ambiance, the fast and decent haircut, and the reasonable price. It was my first haircut in State College, so I cannot comment on other places, but I liked it a lot. Will return. Do remember--it is cash only. No credit/debit cards.

Amazing place! Amazing atmosphere! Amazing employees and customer service! I forgot to ask the name of the man who cut my hair, but he was great. After he finished a fade on the sides, he asked how i felt about it, then I asked for WHOLE DIFFERENT hairstyle and he did it without complaining or making the haircut more expensive, and I appreciate that a lot. From now on, I’m only getting my haircuts at Owen’s Barbershop.

Josh is the man! Great skin fade from him everytime. Barbershop does $12 for a basic haircut. Cant beat that price anywhere. The other guys at the shop are pretty good. At the very least they try to take their time with first time customers to get used to the way their hair grows. Appreciate it.

If you are expecting an old fashioned barber shop, this isn’t it. On and off the chair in 5 minutes. No hot towels. No hot shaving cream on the neck with straight razor cut. The haircut was just okay. I wouldn’t go back. Sorry.

Ive been here several time and have never had a bad experience. Usually the wait is anywhere up to 8-10 minutes depending on how busy they are.Once youre in the chair, the staff is very helpful and insightful to make sure you get the cut you actually want (if not better).The prices are extremely reasonable and they make an effort to get you in and out in a timely manner.

I have been visiting Owens Barbershop weekly for nearly a year now, and I cant say enough about this great barbershop. In all of my years of travel Ive visited many, many barbershops and this one is the best Ive been to, hands down. Most barbershops have one or two good barbers and a couple of bad ones, but every barber at Owens is top notch. And they are NICE People! I highly recommend them.

Extensive hours, plenty of highly qualified barbers, short wait time, expert haircuts, ultra friendly atmosphere. Very popular with law enforcement and military as well as families with youngsters and college men. Accommodations for little kids as customers as well as waiting siblings. Barbers are prepared to cut hair for people of all ethnic/racial hair types. Best cut in town, hands down!

Great experience and a great haircut!! All of the barbers are fully trained and do and excellent job of asking how you want your haircut; no matter how many times youve been there. I really appreciate their longer hours, hard to find a barber open on Monday!! My one complaint is that it is CASH ONLY! In this day, everything is done via credit card and I rarely have cash handy. I still love it and and will continue to go there but that one added feature would make them top-notch in my book!

Shane, who is only an apprentice barber, did a great job on my haircut. His mentor took the time to assist him and I am very pleased with the result. The shop is cash only, but worth the trip to the ATM!

Just an old school style barber shop. Sitting along the wall brings back memories as a kid sitting in the barber shop with my Dad waiting to get a haircut. There are 5 or 6 barber chairs and their barbers vary in skill level. I always go to Brandy for a fast high and tight cut.

I’ve lived in 4 different states in the last 10 years; as such, I go to countless barbers every time I move before I find one that can actually cut hair. Becky, at Owen’s Barber Shop, got it right in 18 minutes without me needing to make a single request. The atmosphere at Owen’s is very friendly and open, and the price is absolutely reasonable ($12) for a men’s cut.

Went here a few times and my haircuts have Not always been very good. My most recent cut was so bad. My hair was past my chin and I had a nice flow but it was getting too long. I asked for two inches off and he decided to give me the terrible haircut he had. He parted my hair in almost the middle of my head and my hair is now very short. Very rushed and totally not what I asked for. It was the guy in the corner. I practically have a Mohawk that goes to the side. If you want an army cut or a Mohawk I would recommend this place.

Absolutely a waste of money, Ive never been more disappointed with a haircut in my life. My hair is 3 different lengths on top and she completely missed the back end of my head. The atmosphere is horrible, they dont talk to you and for some reason they face you away from the mirrors and towards the other customers. Save yourself the embarrassment I will be having for the next few days and go somewhere else.

They REFUSED to serve me because I am FEMALE. Very odd experience and the most sexism I have ever experienced in real life. I have a basic short haircut. Nothing fancy, and I usually go to barber shops downtown. They told me to go to the salon because thats for women. I was like ????? Disgusting.

Worst haircut experience I have ever had. You walk in and do not face the mirror, but rather the rest of the people in the room while the barbers have their own conversation. Should rename the business to General Trash Cuts if you ask me. Went with a friend and he asked for scissors on top and they said no and gave him buzzer instead.
