Got a great haircut, exactly what I needed for my graduation photos. The barber who worked with me was extremely professional and was willing to do a little extra to make sure my hair was just right. Great covid precautions and I really felt safe being there for a cut. Would definitely recommend it to someone looking for a reasonable cut at a great place.

I used to love this place, and they have done an excellent job in the past. Unfortunately, they have so much demand that it was very difficult to get a reservation, and then when I showed up they turned me away, saying they were closed (even though they were still supposed to be open for another half hour, and it was the time they set for the reservation). Very frustrating to go multiple days in the row and get turned away.

Good Haircuts, I came in unsure of the style I wanted. So I kept suggesting simple changes, and the woman was very patient with me, she took the time and control to make sure that this was the Haircut and Beard trim I wanted. The prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is fairly good. They make sure that you are happy and are well taken care of. Many comments talk about making an appointment, I also recommend that, but if you walk in the waits are not too long. If any. The people are nice and understand what they are doing.

The owner has no problem cutting ethnic (African/Arab) hair. Which is pretty fantastic for a barber shop. This is the first place in a long time where I didnt have to fix my hair the next day.

Best haircuts for people with shorter type hair. They know their way around clippers and scissors. The hot shave inn the back of the neck is so refreshing after a haircut. If you cant find a place to cut your hair the way you like, try this place.

One of the best barbershops in State College. They always give me a good, consistent haircut for a decent price. Calling ahead for an appointment is essential though, otherwise you might wait for an hour or 2.

Barbers are very kind, good atmosphere. If you are in two minds about the haircut, they help you out. You dont have to worry. They seemed to be competent and the prices were ok.

I went to get my first cut in state college, and my friends recommend this place. I went there and I expected less, but it was great and fast. They did a excellent job on my head and my neck. I will go there again!

I was recommended to fetterolfs by a friend about a year and a half ago and havnt gone anywhere else since my first cut. Its a great barber shop for a nice clean cut with a very friendly atmosphere. You tell the barbers what you want and they give you what you want. I got my hair cut by a taller man with slicked white hair who really knows how to work the scissors and clippers. No complaints at all.

All staff is very kind and experienced. Best place to get a hair cut in state college. The owner is very sweet and welcoming.

Been coming to Fetterolfs all 4 years at Penn State and consistantly gotten great haircuts. Got one today from a new, larger woman with blonde hair and it seemed like she had never given a haircut before in her life. She did a very bad job and I was very surprised she had actually gotten a job there.

Read majority of good reviews so I thought Id try the place out for the first time. Made sure to schedule an appointment in order to ensure I wouldnt just be rushed in and rushed out like the average walk-in appt. situation that usually happens in State College. Anyways, Ive never written a bad review, usually only good reviews when I like a place. But, this seemed like a good time to write my first bad review. After walking in and saying I had an appointment, the woman I was talking to asked another woman who was reading a magazine in the waiting area if she could cut my hair. She very slowly said sure and got up from reading her magazine in the waiting area and walked over toward the barber chairs, without saying a word to me. I walked over and sat in the chair which I presumed was her chair as she still had not acknowledged my presence whatsoever. So I sit down and she comes over and puts the barber cape around me and is having a conversation with the woman I talked to originally. She takes about another minute after I have been sat down to finally say to me, what do you want me to do in an annoyed tone. I know it was an annoyed tone because she had just been complaining about her whom-I-presume-to-be spouse for the previous minute. So I gave her the directions I had always been able to give to a new barber in order to get a decent haircut (from multiple different barbers in State College) because I knew they werent hard to follow. She grabbed the buzzers and started going at the sides of my hair twice as fast compared to anyone else who has ever cut my hair. Ill spare the other details of during the cut. Ill only also include that I watched as she would look up, while still using the buzzers on the sides of my head, to complain about her sewage problem at her home to the other barbers who were not busy. 5-6 times she looked up and kept using the buzzers on me while she was making eye contact with the other workers for about 3-5 seconds. 15 minute haircut goes by, which makes me very uneasy as my haircuts usually last 25-35 minutes when they at least look decent. I see that she did an OK job for the lack of attention or care she seemed to have while cutting my hair. So I pay and tip her pretty decent to hopefully get her out of the bad mood she was in. Get home to find she completely cut my left sideburn off and it is now basically horizontal with the top of my ear, while my right sideburn is still about a full inch below the top of my ear where it usually is. Its understandable if the sideburns are a little uneven, but for her to completely leave an inch on the right sideburn and then cut it almost parallel with the top of my ear on the left side is just sh***y. Maybe its just her, but I am for sure never returning here again, and very dissapointed in myself that I even tipped her. Sad that I have to give you guys one star, but you need to get rid of the barber that cares more of complaining about her partner than cutting my hair which I scheduled an appointment with your business to pay you MONEY for at least some tolerable service. Absolutely pitiful impression you have given me. Thankful more than anything that hair grows back. 0 stars. Finished ranting.

Barbers always smiling, conversing with their customers and making them feel very comfortable. This barbershop is the BEST in town and get quite sad if I have to get a cut else where when Im away from school
