These mechanics are auto wizards! They have successfully diagnosed and repaired my older vehicle when other shops were stumped. Their experience shows, and I appreciate their honest, experienced, reliable service at the best price. I also like the way the owner always keeps me fully informed of what is happening, even to showing me the underside of my car and explaining what repairs are needed. I trust their judgment and value their reasonable and fair prices. I feel lucky we have Pro-Trans in our area.

This is the best transmission shop around. The owners are great people, you feel like family when you walk in. My son had his truck there to get a new transmission put in and got in a motorcycle accident and they work with him on making payments till it was payed off. They will definitely get all of my business plus the transmission works perfect no problems.

My daughter was attending school from out of state. We did not know anyone to assist us with the repairs but we were referred to Pro-Trans. Im from ohio with a rear axle problem they told me all the things that i didnt want to hear . BUT AS AN OLD(60) WRENCH MYSELF THEY WERE RIGHT ON AND VERY THEROUGH AND FAIR

Cost a lot for them to tell me they could not do anything to fix it and I needed a new engine. Took to another shop and they had me fixed and back on the road on a few day without a new engine. “We won’t go a dollar over $250...”. Bill was $333. Just did not feel right. If it’s an engine issue why check the differential fluids??? Just felt like I got rolled. Understand there is a cost but should have been not over $250 like they said at least. Small town, so I paid the bill but I will not be returning.

These guys are the best. Theyve worked on both of my cars for years and always get to the bottom of the problem quickly and with as little expense as possible. Several times Ive just called to run something by them, and theyll tell me how to fix the issue myself where another shop would have told me to bring the car in so that they could charge me for inspection and repairs. Ive had everything from small repairs to transmission replacement done here, and I couldnt recommend them more highly.

Called to ask about getting the rear differential rebuilt on my Mustang. Shop owner told me he did not want to even touch my car because there was no money to be made in doing such a job. He proceeded to get snippy with me after I asked him why. Simply put a shop only concerned about making money is not a shop you should take your car to. Past experience shows me shops like this do sub par work. For anyone looking to have similar work done try Starks on College Ave. Thanks for saving me ass pain and money!

Protrans did an excellent job on my Toyota! Chris handled the case and was very good about keeping me updated and explaining everything. He even took my car to another garage to have maintenance done on my tire when they did not offer the service. I highly recommend Protrans!

After the clutch in my Jetta began to bind, I looked throughout State College for a place to get it repaired. A gentleman at a local garage referred me to Pro-Trans, and said they do great work. I called them up on a Saturday, and though they were closed, they called me first thing in the morning the following Monday.After looking the car over they told me exactly what was wrong. One day during my lunch break I stopped by to see how things were coming and they showed me everything that was wrong with the clutch, and discovered a couple of other problems that needed taken care of. They took the time to explain what things were, how they worked, what was damaged, and whether or not they really needed repaired. They gave me the option of either letting some of the more minor problems go, or taking care of them. I opted for the latter, and it saved me over $200. Overall, they saved me well over $300.They also ran overall diagnostics on the car, checked fluids, and made recommendations on how the car could run better. They have a 500 mile complimentary check on the clutch and warranty that backs up their work.The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and did not come off as pushy, abrasive, or know-it-alls. If you need work done on your transmission or clutch, take your car to Pro-Trans.

Outstanding shop. Did a lot of work on my Mitsu Outlander for a really great price, and kept the vehicle safe while the tranny went to be remanufactured in Oregon. Their work is great.
