My car broke down on Sunday around 11 am on the interstate. A relative suggested I call them for my tow. I called and they were there within 20 minutes. They did a great job at making sure we were off the road and the cars that were coming from behind moved over into the far lane.They offered to let us and the dog sit in their truck. They waited until our ride arrived and did a great job at getting my car onto the tow truck. They were very nice and I would definitely call them again if needed.

I called them at 7:36 through AAA to get told yesterday and what wasn’t able to get anyone to come pick up my car until 1220 for 30 minutes before I had to go to work. When I finally got my car towed and I’m in route to go to work I found out they towed my car to the wrong place to go get fixed. Now I don’t know if my car has made it there or not

Words can not explain how appropriated I am right now to the guys who came to help me on I72 today! I have a 5month old and a 7 year old. My tire got a hole and went flat. The traffic did NOT move off. The tire that went flat was the back drivers side. They were already on their way to another call up in front of me and came back to help me. The guy said he was coming back whether I had someone already there or not. They were super friendly and caring!!! I highly highly recommend them!!! I had a flat last night in -15 degree blizzard. They came out to change my tire within 15 minutes. The guy that came, Kenney, was amazing. He made jokes with me since the minute he got out of his van until he left. Which I will say was the quickest Ive ever seen someone change a tire. Turned my night around and wasnt expensive at all.

I pre-arranged a tow the day before, for noon the following dayShaners Towing showed up at 8pm that day, eight (8) hours late!No, I will NOT use their service ever again!!!

My son was in an accident recently and the officer who called for the tow used shaners. Unfortunately the officer failed to inform shaners where the car was to be towed. After checking with the garage requested I discovered that the vehicle never arrived. I contacted the city of Springfield but they couldn’t figure out which vehicle was towed, or by which company, or where the vehicle had been towed. After searching on my own the vehicle was located at shaners tow yard. I asked why it wasn’t towed to the requested garage. The person stated that they were not informed where to tow the vehicle. When I asked for it to be towed to the garage, I was told that they wouldn’t have towed it to the garage at 3am because no one would be able to pay them $500 for towing it. I was then informed that if I wanted it towed to the originally requested garage that I would have to pay $500 plus $80! Needless to say, after the series of unfortunate events that occurred the last thing I or anyone needed was to be further stonewalled and inconvenienced by this and any other establishment that calls themselves professional. 👎👎

They got mad because they tried charging my wife 400 bucks to change her alternator and I told them no now they had her car for two days now because he felt it was asleep in the face well sry we dont want to be ripped off because of her lack of knowing whats going on with her car

While towing a U-Haul trailer down I-72, my Trailblazer got a flat left rear tire. AAA dispatched someone from Shaner’s in Springfield to come and swap to my spare. While waiting, a semi-truck clipped the U-Haul destroying the left rear wheel and tire and breaking the rear axle mount. U-Haul also dispatched from Shaner’s. If I got the names right, Ken, who changed the tire, and Nate who loaded up the trailer and helped transfer the contents, were great! They made what was a bad day better with their willingness to help and over good attitude. It was a hot and humid day and we were on the side of the highway for most of it. A hearty thank you for the team at Shaner’s and especially Ken and Nate!

My teenage stole my car in the middle of the night. Last night was a very bad snow storm of all night to steal it and of course then end up in a ditch at 5am. Thankfully Shaners Towing came to my rescue and got my car out. They didn’t even have driver’s available till 9 but one of them got out there in about 15 minutes and got my car out. Thank you again for saving my day.

Not a good towing company. Ive heard of a lot of not-so-good things from people. Never anything good, and unfortunately had a bad experience myself. Dont waste your time or money. Theres plenty of good professional towing companies around here. Dont settle for less.

My Dodge Ram 2500 HD blew a transmission line with a 33 ft trailer attached with a 5000 pound load on it! No big deal to them at all! Handled it like a pro, then gave me a lift to get a rental car. Absolutely phenomenal service above and beyond what they had to do! Appreciate you guys very much!!

Shaners pulled a tractor with a set of doubles off the highway for us. The driver was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful through the process.

I called Shaners yesterday to come pick up a car. No one came to pick up the car. I called today to have to car picked up and still no one came. BAD BUSINESS!!!! If I was needing a tow truck I would be still waiting. I called another tow company who can right on the spot. Shaners is no good and I will never call them for any business.

Called for dead battery under AAA. Corey arrived in a timely manner. He was able to determine that the alternator was working appropriately, and he quoted a great price on a replacement battery. We just followed him to the shop where he had the new battery installed in about 10 minutes. Excellent! It was a nasty, cold April Sunday made great by great service! Thank you Corey!

Had about $1000 worth of items taken from my car. Shane was kind enough to call me back and walk me through the events from when he got there to tow the vehicle, as well as offer to let me view his security footage in his lot. Stand up move by him. Also, my car was in good shape when I had it towed and in the same exact shape when I picked it up. I recommend Shaners to anyone in town.

So my car was towed Saturday at 5pm, they were then closed Sunday and could not get the car until Monday morning at 9am. They had the car 40 hours and tried to justify charging 3 days storage. I had a break down over this past weekend and was very happy about how humble the lady Heather was answering the phone was. She made sure my child and I had a ride and called me back a few times to check on us, she offerec that she would come and get us off the side of the road. The driver was a young man unsure of his name but very pleasant. I do recommend this company.

Unprofessional, unreliable, but friendly service.Had to call them three times concerning a receipt and ultimately had to physically go by the place of business to pick one up. The night I had my car towed I told them to bring it to a specific business and I would meet them there, but they took it to their facility instead.But hey, they were nice about it so that has to count for something. Next time Im ask me who I want to tow my vehicle my reply will be, “anyone but Shaner’s Pate Towing.”

I almost became a driver for Shaners and can say they are very dependable, quick to respond and extremely friendly. I had an instance where I had a flat on my way back to their shop and I called and within 25 minutes their roadside assistance man was there and we were back on the road in 15 minutes .

My car broke down on the way back to Decatur from a bday party I had 4kids with me they saw us pulled over towed the car and called a second car to drive me and the kids to where our ride was coming A+ to them! Great people very nice never seen any better. They also let us pay the next day for towing. Super professional. I am a EMT And being stuck on the side of the road with kids is no joke! I appreciate them taking their time and care!

Called at 5:36pm for a tow, called back at 6:45pm, @7:20 called Toms towing because Shaners still didnt show up. Very unprofessional

Customer service sucked. I waited on hold multiple times 30+ minutes they couldn’t fix the truck right. Still had to be towed to a different location. Truck was supposed to be towed the 2nd time on Friday but didn’t get moved till Monday at 10:30. Got the run around multiple times. Good luck with them.

We were traveling through Illinois back to Texas and the cars tire pressure light came on. We found Shaners on Google maps, and stopped in thinking theyd have to either repair something or replace a tire and then charge us out-of-towners an arm and a leg. They were all so nice, and got us right in and back on the road in no time!

Called about a used tire and after being on hold for 20 minutes as they looked for it another guy came on and said they would have to call me back. They never did and I called back and the lady acted as she didnt remember talking to me 2 hours ago and asked me what tire I was looking for and quickly said we dont have that size. I originally gave her a different size the first time and this time she just knew off the top of her head that they didnt have it???? Would not recommend at all.

Waited two hours for tow. Called back to find out they put all AAA calls ahead of all others. Then i got put on terminal hold. Gal picked up after 5 minutes, laughed and put me on hold again. I never do reviews but people need to know this place is absolutely horrendous before they trust them with their cars. My starter died so I called Triple A for assistance; Shaners Towing comes out to let me know what it is, and offers to tow it to their shop using my accounts free tow. I was a little skeptical as I wanted it towed to my mechanic that I trusted and knew well, they were quite a bit away. So the driver assured me it would be fixed within the weekend which hooked me on it, said theyd call when they towed it (they did not) they said they would call when it was fixed (they did not). I called 2 days later on the sunday to inquire about my car, the woman who answered was incredibly rude, I asked to talk to someone else and she said she was the owner, she told me I need to fix my attitude or I couldnt pick my car up as they werent open on sundays. I was furious, I had to calm myself down and appeal to this womans ego in order to pick up my vehicle that they said would be ready within the weekend. So I go down there, pay the 400 dollars (basically the highest quote I found for getting your starter replaced for the type of car I have) and waited 20 minutes for them to pull it around front, rudely handing me the keys and not saying a word to me further. I was absolutley furious at how I was treated and a little over a week later my engine is having trouble and my mechanic is saying stuff was damaged by someone who was in here. This mechanic is absolutely attrocious

I needed a jump start at the Road Ranger on Camp Butler Rd. I called and they arrived in less than 20 minutes. The service call was very reasonable and Id call them again anytime.

I was told it would take 30-40mins until they could get to me. I waited for hour and a half so I called and said they were on their way. 2hrs later I called again and said they got a police call to go to. I went ahead and canceled but I wish they just told me they were short staff or would be much longer so I didn’t have to wait and called someone else sooner.

I came out to a flat tire at 6 at Paneras..Called Shaners and they were there within minutes and taken to Knox Knolls.Their prices are a little more affordable than others..I suggest you put Shaners in your phone memory.Quick and affordable service!

Called for tow around 9am, told that tow would be before noon. 1pm came around and i had to call and told that they only had one driver and i was lower priority call. i was then told it would be around 45 minutes to arrive, so i gave it a second chance, called back at 3pm and told they could not give me a eta, would never use or recommend this company ever again. The only positive was the lady who answered each time was very friendly.

The most shady place I have been, tried telling me they had to drop my fuel tank when that wasnt the case at all, they tried charging me for work they didnt do, and made me pay 500$ for a 300$ fuel pump and get super pissed at me for saying something and said he wasnt going to argue about the price, and they wouldnt let me go anywhere els.

Some lady from there was flat out rude to my well behaved (for once) 6 year old daughter. I wouldnt put up with that from some random stranger on the street, let alone from someplace trying to get my business.

For my call the wait time was shorter than other places I called, the price was reasonable, and the young man that helped us out was very nice and competent.

These guys went completely above and beyond for me when my semi broke down to get it up and running again. A huge thank you to them all for everything.

This place is a damn joke and not to just customers. Ill start off with the fact that my boyfriend worked here for 3 weeks before they screwed him over on his pay. They gave him 200$ for working 3 weeks and that was training pay at 50$ a day for 4 days so he only got a 4 day paycheck after working for 3 weeks their reason was that he was supposed to have another worker sign off on all the tows or shop work that he did which wouldve been ok if someone wouldve told him this when he started there but no one explained this to him. Also while he was working there he learned some of their tricks a trucker had broke down and called shaners to come out and fix his problem my boyfriend was the one sent out he ordered the part and fixed the truck he then called the guy that was working with him and told him he fixed the truck and the guy asked my boyfriend how much the part was and if he told the driver how much it was. My boyfriend replied with 11$ and no I didnt tell him yet because I didnt know what we were charging total and the guy he was working with replied with good job and tell him the part was 50$ so for an 11$ part the poor truck driver was charged 50$ plus labor his total was over 100 for something that shouldve cost 50$ at the most but these people are scam artists. Now while my boyfriend was working here my car had broke down in Springfield and his boss told him to go get the car and tow it back to the shop and that it could stay there until we figured out where to take it to get it fixed. Well this was all supposed to be free of charge since he worked for them. While my car was there broke down my boyfriend quit his job because they screwed him on pay and he was extremely mad about it. When I attempted to have my car picked up by a machanic in Springfield they wouldnt release it because they said there was money owed on it so I called shaners and talked to several people finally someone got back to me about a month later after I called everyday and they kept saying they had to talk with Shane (the owner of shaners) the girl said you can have them come get it and well release it. I then had tuffys (the machanic) go to shaners to get it which costs him money to bring a wrecker and shaners wouldnt release it. So I continued calling and no one could tell me anything finally another month later I was told theyre holding it because I owe them 50$ for the tow I never asked for so after multiple attempts to talk to Shane I finally said screw it and drove to Springfield from Lincoln (where I live) and I paid the tow fee of 50$ while I was there the worker told me he had talked to Shane and Shane said that he would be extremely offended if I had tuffys come get it instead of having one of his guys tow it there. I said ok have one of them take it there thats fine and the guy said well only charge you 45$ for it. At this point Im flabbergasted that he would even say that I was not going to pay that but my Grandma was with me and she said it was fine and paid it. They said it would be there Monday morning (we paid on a Sunday night) I called Monday around 3pm and they still hadnt taken it there. I called everyday and the girl would say the same thing were going to get it there today. A week went by it still wasnt there finally 2 weeks after its been paid I drove to Springfield and went to shaners they then say sorry what happened was it just got over looked and were loading it up and taking it there now. I said fine Ill wait outside and follow you over it took an hour for them to load it to get it there. For 2 weeks it was paid and with me calling them everyday it still got overlooked. Oh yea when I finally got it to tuffys after 2 in a half 3 months it had a flat tire and a dead battery and it didnt have those problems when it was taken there but they didnt offer to fix it. Im not sure if anything else is wrong with it because Im following the tow truck as I type this. I would never recommend working or doing any business with these people! Im also reporting them to the better business Bureau.

Dont go here!! Wish there was a no star option for this place! We were stuck there for three hours at this piece of a shop while they tried to put on ONE trailer tire, it was a 16 ply tire so yes, its tough, they knew this if they wouldve looked at it initially! So first of all 6 guys were trying to get the tire off the rim. They ended up having to CUT IT OFF! One employee specifically came up to me telling me that this is the toughest tire hes ever seen, that they really dont even have the proper equipment for it! (Wish they wouldve initially told me this, I wouldve went elsewhere). But they continued to try. Two hours later they finally got the tire CUT off. The last hour they struggled getting my new tire onto The rim. So we wasted 3 hours sitting at this place while we couldve been on the road OR at a better shop that new what the heck they were doing! Now I am at Loves and it literally just took these two guys five minutes to take the tire off and put new tire back onto rim!! No lie, i am here at 8:30 right now as aoon as i left Shaners!! The boss tried telling me it would take this long (3hours) anywhere... Ya ok, obviously not! As we were very upset at the end of the three hours we tried asking the boss for some kind of discount since it took so long and they didnt get all the tires completed and the guy starts getting mad and yelling!! What kind of owner does that?! I at least wanted some kind of apology AT LEAST. He got mad and literally stormed out the front door! Get a grip guy! (We were broken down on the side of the rode before all of this, with a blown tire, we bought a tire from One stop shop and they mounted the tire for us which only took an hour for this shop to run it over to us (owner of this shop tried saying it took other place longer -lies) and owner of Shaners also told us that One Stop shop turned us down and wouldnt do it-also not true, One Stop physically could not do it because they did not have big enough jacks for our truck and trailer-so thats another lie.) Also, back in Indy I took this trailer to Pomps to have tire patched. I watched them take it off in a jiffy!) Wish we wouldve went to Loves in the first place, took five minutes to disassemble and reassemble and its also cheaper! $36 per tire compared to shaners at $50 a tire!

Popped a tire on the freeway outside Springfield. Via AAA, they towed me within 30 min and hooked me up with a used tire for $45 (seems reasonable to me)

I tried calling them several times for a large towing job in Springfield. They told me they would call me back but never did. Very disappointing. I will not be calling back.

Slow workers and these guys do not stick to their ETA times. They milk the hourly rate as much as possible.
