This was the first time my wife and I had to pay someone to do our taxes and it was such an awful experience. Steve is a nice guy and had received great reviews, so I decided to give him our business.We had an initial phone interview to discuss our needs and everything went really well. But, from that point on, it was not great at all. His prices are absolutely, positively, INSANE!! We paid $475 for him to do our taxes and we were robbed. I mean, the dude probably spent 20 minutes on our taxes and charged us almost $500!Once he prepares the return, you have to pay the invoice before you can see them. I am sure thats standard practice and all, but its really lame.When we were preparing to file our taxes, it would have been nice if he provided us with some suggestions/advice about the upcoming stimulus payments that were being issued. With our prior tax filing, we would have qualified for the full stimulus payment. But, Steve failed to mention anything about it and we filed, which changed our tax bracket to an amount that prevented us from getting stimulus money, which we really needed.We dropped off all of our original paperwork and because it was in the midst of a global pandemic, it was difficult to get down to his office to get our documents. I asked him to mail them to us and never heard back. I spoke with his assistant and she said we could pick the documents up when things were not so strict. Well, that never happened.We have been emailing for the last few weeks, asking him to mail the originals so we can file our taxes for 2020, but the dude is ghosting us.Use turbo tax people!***UPDATE***Old boy finally responded to our email. It took this review to get his attention and that was my intention. Ill nudge my review up to 1.125 stars just for you bruh.Thanks for nothin old boy!!!

Ok job if youre willing to pay any amount to get your taxes done without an accurate estimate. I went over all the pieces of my taxes twice with him for an estimate, and the final bill came back double, then with arbitrary discounts, but it was still way, way over the estimate he gave me. I even politely asked if I had neglected to tell him something that caused this, and he said no and that I should be happy about it because I got a refund this year. My previous accountants in other cities were always great at giving an estimate and doing my taxes correctly.

Great accountant. Pricey, but worth it. We sold a rental property and moved to a new state last year, so our taxes were incredibly complicated but he did a great job. We were very happy with the service we received.UPDATE: We went back to get our taxes done this year (2019) and caught a mistake on their part that would have cost us over $1,000 in extra taxes if we had not caught it. We pointed the mistake out to them and they admitted that they made a mistake and offered to submit an amended tax return at no cost. Did not refund a penny of the original (very steep) fee we had paid for the initial tax service, even though we had to go through it with a fine toothed comb after we caught their mistake to make sure there werent any other mistakes. Will not be going back.
