Used them for 8 years and brought in a number of clients, new leadership came in and sent me a 2 sentence email saying they’re closing their relationship with me after 8 years. I thought it was a joke and called and got a vague response from the new manager, my rate they were charging me was a preferred customer rate and new leadership didn’t want to keep that going. Pretty disappointing and bad way of doing business.

Horrible experience with Rick Van Valkenburgh. Well never do business with Larson and Company again. Imagine its the day before the tax deadline and your CPA takes the whole week off. Thats what its like working with Rick. Also, if you want your emails to be ignored or not responded to for weeks at a time, then Rick is your guy. Do yourself a favor and find another company to handle your corporate taxes.

I wish I could give you a name of someone there that failed to meet my expectations but unfortunately, I didnt even get that far. I was a client of Brad Bradleys (who, by the way, was amazing!) and was sent a letter that he no longer was able to provide services. His clients were referred to Larson & Co. II dropped off my documents on April 4th and was told it was too late that they would have to file an extension (which I found understandable) but April 30th no one had called me to let me know that they even received my documents.When I called, the receptionist acted inconvenienced and transferred me before I could finish my sentence. The person she transferred me to was equally unpleasant and after reading all their reviews, I decided to take my business elsewhere.It is sad that after so many years of great service, Brad Bradleys firm was diluted to this and merged with a company that did not embody his professionalism and care for his clients.

Weve been with Larson for 15 years. Larry Tatum was awesome and was always prompt and explained things very well, then he retired. We were assigned Scott, he was prompt but we never really sat down with him to discuss anything, then he retired. Now we have Richard. He puts everything off till the last minute and likes to file extensions. I gave him our tax information the first week of March with a message that we needed these finished before March 30. We didnt hear back. We contacted him asking if they were done and he says hes swamped they wont get done. We told him that was unacceptable they need to be done. On March 29 he sends a bunch of emails, What about this? We sent that already. We cant do this anymore because yadda, yadda, new tax laws, I need exact numbers on mileage. Ok, fine, but if we wouldve known then we wouldve kept track. Did we get a phone call from him in the year stating these changes so we could keep track of this and document that. Nope. We pay him $700-800 to file our taxes and he cant get it done on time or call us and forewarn of any changes. If he gets the taxes done today it wont be till evening and well have to go in to sign them waaaaaay out to the new facility off Bangerter highway to sign them on my daughters 7 year old birthday when I gave him everything two weeks ago. Plus I hate the new location. They went from modest but classy facility within a 5 mile radius of our house to a frivolous Donald Trump facility. Also, they always sent quarterlys the day before they were due. Were very disappointed. Theyve gotten to a point where they are disrupting our business.Update: Our taxes were finished, barely on time but not in a time frame that was reasonable. We didnt have to go in to sign this time it was done electronically- a first. Two days later the accountant sent us an email saying: Since it is obvious that we are not meeting your needs, effective immediately, we will no longer be providing any services to you or your company. We were already looking elsewhere but we dont appreciate being treated like last priority for the last few years.

This place is a joke. I paid them to do my small business taxes in 2013 and they made huge errors that resulted in me getting a larger refund than I should have. I suspected this was the case and asked them about it. They didnt help me figure it out, just just told me to send the check back to the IRS. When the same exact check came this year, I spent HOURS on the phone with the IRS before having the CPA there help me figure it out. This was several months ago, and he said he was going to file an amended return for 2015. That still hasnt happened and I have followed up multiple times. Terrible company. Just buy turbotax. The robots there are more helpful...
