My experience wasnt the best. I came in wanting my roots fully done and a better tone for my already bleached hair. When I came in and I explained what I wanted with a picture she said she was going to do a full highlight. In my understanding a full highlight doesnt include all the hair so I asked if all my hair would be done and if it would cover my roots. She said yes so I assumed that I just didnt know what a full highlight was. She also said she was going to do a smudge which I agreed to, but I thought she would be leaving some hair at the top or coloring it slightly darker like my previous stylist did. I couldnt tell if she was doing all of my roots because of the foil and the fact that I was turned away for the most part. She didnt do my roots, there is still a harsh line everywhere except for the top and its only somewhat blended. The color is also not what I showed, my hair is now much more grey than I wanted. She was very rough and brushed starting at the top of my head. When she was done combing there was a huge clump of my hair on it that had been ripped out. She burnt my forehead while curling it. She also made me stand up to show the other stylists how jagged my hair was before she cut it which was super humiliating. She also gave me an uneven haircut in the front, and she just cut random strips out of my hair when I asked for layers. Overall the experience felt like I wasnt listened to or cared for. I felt too nervous to even say anything after I realized that this wasnt what I wanted, as it had already been like 4 hours and I just felt very defeated and embarrassed. I came to this place 2 years prior and the service was phenomenal so Im not sure what happened.

Han was an expert at dying the perfect color for my hair. Being African American I was timid and curious if this hair salon could deliver top quality. To my hopefulness, they delivered with excellence and unique color. It was exactly what I wanted, but I got more. I have seen Kate twice now, and am extremely happy with both the service and quality of the cut.I often wear my hair a bit longer than the average guy in Utah, and for the four years I have been in Utah, many of the haircuts I have gotten here felt like a race to finish in 15 minutes and the cut reflected that. I have slightly wavy hair and have found that quality and details matter for me, like washing (as opposed to wetting) the hair before cutting makes a big difference in the actual cut. Similarly, texturizing makes a big difference in how long my hair stays manageable. It was lovely getting a scalp massage along with the wash too!Kate was careful, took her time to be clear about what I wanted, did the job well, and I left feeling valued as a client. Thanks Kate! Definitely coming back.

So, last night I got a little too confident and decided to try and cut my hair myself. Halfway through cutting it, I realized how BAD of an idea it was. It looked like I had let a three-year-old try and cut my hair. I came to hair elegance the very next morning to see if they could help me fix it. Thankfully they had an open slot and was able to get me in for a haircut. Even though I had totally butchered my hair, Ly was able to fix it and now I love it! That will be the last time that I attempt to cut my hair myself. Thank you so much Ly and Hair Elegance!

I got my hair done here right after Christmas and I am still loving it so much. Han did my hair she gave me a cut for $45 and then I lightened my hair. She left brown highlights in it and it looks so good. She talked me through the pricing before she started working on my hair and was so friendly and fast. This is now my go to Salon and I am glad I found a place where they care about what I want done :) thanks again!

Absolutely the best experience Ive ever had! I came in not really knowing what I wanted and Ashley helped me sort through the pictures I had and helped me learn how to style it. I ended up cutting off about 12 inches, but the whole time she was super positive and made me feel like a queen instead of like I was losing a huge part of me, or that I was going to regret cutting me hair off later. Really, this is an amazing place! highly recommended!

I couldn’t afford to continue to go here. It was $140 for just a color with highlights and.another $40 for a “trim”. My hair is barely shoulder length. I did return 3 times, but the third time my color didn’t turn out at all the way it was supposed to. I didn’t bother to complain. I knew the stylist wouldn’t have listened.... an expensive lesson learned. By the way, I hate leaving bad reviews, but I hate people losing money more.

I went to Hair Elegance for the first time for a haircut one week ago. Breanna is the best! She was very friendly and professional. She listened to what I wanted and made it happen! I will definitely be going back.

I originally went in to get my hair done by a complete stranger and came out with someone I truly consider a friend.

I walked in looking and feeling like a shaggy dog. Even after working me in at the end of her day, Hanh took the time to make sure I got the attention I needed to leave looking and feeling amazing. It was some much needed self care.

To preface this, I have been to this location before an loved the service an the people. However this time around I wasn’t so impressed. I am in the process of lightening my hair an I have always done it gradually in order to protect the integrity of my hair. When I went in for my hair appointment I had previously lighten it once already a couple months before by a professional. When I showed the lady what my end goal was she took that as what I want it to be that way that day. Now when I was in hair school I was taught that you shouldn’t over lap bleach an if you do, you really need to watch it. When the lady applied the bleach she applied it an never check the progress on the portions that had been processing a while. I had bleach sitting on the back half portion of my head( that had already been lightened) for almost 30-40 minutes. It wasn’t until I mention that it had been sitting for a while that she said “bleach takes a while to lift”. She is the professional so I just took her word for it. Well it turns out that what I feared would happen, happened. Not only is my hair excessively brittle and dry (more than I have ever had it dry out before) but when it is wet its stretchy an comes out in clumps when I brush it. In hair school I was taught that these are signs of over processed hair.Long story short, I ended up leaving early before I could get my hair toned. I was suppose to return the next day to have the lady finish it, but because of what she did to my hair the first time I couldn’t trust her to fix it. I haven’t been able to wear my hair down since that day. When I run my fingers through my hair it’s dry and breaks of by the slightest resistance. I really just wanna cry. Even though these guys have provide good service in the past, I don’t think I will be returning.

Clean salon and professional treatment. Each stylist gets to set their own schedule which I like, it means they never feel rushed to get my hair done. My stylist doesnt work here anymore but I will still reccomend the salon since they helped me find my stylist.

Genny Just did a full foil on my super thick hair. She was amazing and super cool. in fact I ran home to grab my son to take him there to get his haircut but she was already off for the day will definitely be going back to her.

I called and made an appointment same day, was not even a little bit unsatisfied! The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, I went in to get my hair dyed a bright red/purple. I got exactly what I asked for at a very reasonable price! Ill be going back there again!

Today I called the salon before it open and a was greeted. I asked if I could get a cut in the SAME day and was fit into their busy schedule. Hesitant about going to a new salon (I just moved here from Denver!) I still went because my split ends were awful. In return, I left with a great well done hair cut. I wish I could remember who cut my hair ; / she had short brown hair. Thank you!!!

Went in for a mani-pedi. Very reasonably priced. Elaine is very charming and does excellent work. Very clean facility.

I called and they got me in for a same day appointment with Ashley. She did a beautiful job on my full set of highlights. Because I have such long and thick hair it took awhile to apply the lightner and she had stayed well past closing to finish me up and she was very nice about having to stay late. I didnt feel rushed or like I was an inconvinence at all. Ive been here twice before once with the owner and once with someone else and they all have done a great job! I would trust all their stylist with my hair.

Wifes perm lasted 5 days and then disappeared, for the price, $117.00, it should have lasted a lot longer. Would not recommend at all!

I had haircuts in many places like Japan, Korea, Mongolia, San Francisco, and downtown Salt Lake City etc. which were mostly average places and not fancy. So I don’t have that high expectation when it comes to haircuts.I emphasized one thing hehe - my hair got to be able to tied up since I have a newborn. I couldn’t tie up my hair once it was finished. It has been over a month since the haircut and I still can’t tie it up hehe.haircut here was not what I described or the style suggested to me by the stylist from here. So there is some communication issue. For simple communication issue, you can fix it as you go but the design of the shop is set where my stylist turned me around from the mirror until the cut was finished. As the stylist talked really confident, I wasn’t worried but really should have been hehe. My friend who were having haircut next to me told me it is nothing what I asked because she saw it from behind (she was also turned away from the mirror haha not sure why they do that or if it was only us). So when I was getting styled, I asked if I could be turned around to see but the stylist said she can’t turn me around bcuz the plug is at the wall. I would highly recommend this place to get an extension cord so people can see what they are getting into. Also really encourage the stylists to ask questions if unsure of the request. Last one, they had only one magazine (maybe only one was given to us) which was really old magazine with some haircuts.I personally think for customers to bring haircut photo from the Internet is risky as you don’t know if the stylist can or cannot do the style/ have experience etc. But thought for a shop to have their own photo and build up their skills with experience was always reassuring and eliminates miscommunication. - one Japanese shop only asked to pick from their magazine which I really liked. - I guess it is a lot to ask as well so this is just random thought not a critic.My hair will grow so I’m not worried but for people who are in time constraint I would avoid this place.The people are friendly and confident here.

Way over priced for the service. Charge $115 for a haircut and perm on very short hair is totally ridiculous!
