It can be really hard to find a good mechanic anywhere you go. Im happy I have Aris Auto to call when I have issues with the car. Theyve taken care of me through two cars at this point. Bob will always tell you what needs to be fixed and not give you any frills or BS. They always seem to figure out whats wrong and fix it at a reasonable price with nothing hidden. If they cant fix it, theyll tell you and if they can, theyll just do it. Sometimes you wait a while for your car to be ready but its always done right.

I cant speak highly enough of Aris Auto! They are very polite, professional, and their work is top notch. I worked with Alex and Bob who were both very transparent and straightforward about what needed to be done and how long said repairs would take, and Bob was quick to point out ways for me to save money via my warranty (I saved $400 thanks to him!). A local business that has been around for a long time for good reason, Ill be going to them for all my car needs moving forward, I highly recommend this business!

Ive been a Somerville resident for 5 years now, and one of the worst parts about leaving is needing to find another auto shop. Bob and his crew have provided some of the best customer experiences Ive ever had at a mechanic. They have been nothing but gracious and neighborly.

I will start by saying this, The absolutely No what customer service means!!!!I needed tires for my 2014 Dodge Caravan. I shopped around and when I contacted Aris Auto I spoke with Alex (owner). Right away I new this was someone who does things right. He explained to me the options and also let me know I did not need to replace all 4 I could just do the front 2 tires. I asked him what he felt was best and he explained all options to me. My decision came down to 1 thing he said. If I were traveling in the rain with my family in the car I would do it that way to me that is what treating the customer right! I now have 4 brand new Michelin tires and it rides and handles amazing. Most of all I now myself and my family are much safer. Thank you Alex and the entire crew for all of your help. These guys are awesome. No chit chat, no small talk, just asked what I needed (an inspection) and I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. Was so unbelievably easy and low stress. Will be using them again and would definitely recommend their services.For the bad reviews on here, theyre just regular dudes running a shop—its not a corporate chain. Be polite and dont act entitled and theyll take care of you (for example, when I got there a customer was behind the service counter shouting into the garage asking if anyone worked there, the shop had been open for literally one minute, pretty obvious why he was still waiting when I was checking out and getting my inspection report lol)

With the prolonged WFH situation, my car battery gradually drained. They kindly came to jump start my car, and didnt even receive payment... Im so grateful. Thank you so much!

Went here for a state inspection after note being able to find a place that could do it all over town. They were quick, professional, affordable, and thorough. Would definitely go here again.

They arent a large operation by any stretch. But they were quick with their repairs and with reasonable prices. If you want a good, but simple local mechanic- this is your place to go

They completed work on the car without my approval, disregarding this issue that I had actually brought the car in for. When I expressed unhappiness about this, I was told its no big deal and its not that much money. I dont know any other repair shop that does work without calling first and not very many people to who $92 is not that much money. To top it off, not a single person in the very small office (up to 4 at one time) had a mask covering his nose and one person had no mask at all.

First time writing a review. I went there for an inspection and one of the guys who was working there rear ended my car. The bumper was damaged, but the guy didnt even apologize. His co-worker who saw him rear ending my car check my front bumper and denied that the guy bumped into it. He kept on saying I dont think so! Finally I went to talk with the guy who rear ended me and apparently he was drunk! I mean DRUNK!! I can smell the alcohol from his breath. I got the hell out of there... But I saw the guy jumping into another car to bring in the garage. I trusted the Google reviews, but left with a damaged bumper and disappointment. Will never go there again.

As everyone knows, the most important trait in an excellent mechanic is their integrity.The guys at Aris have it in spades. When any other mechanic would have told us we should replace our brakes in order to make a buck, the guys at Aris told us honestly that there is a little rust in one area, but assured us that we can safely continue to drive for another 5,000 miles and defer the cost, without risk. We were blown away - this could have been a lengthy, expensive thing they could have insisted we proceed with, and instead they told the truth and advised us to do the most sensible thing.Their prices are fair, their work is consistent and excellent, and when they tell us we should replace a part - we believe them. We trust Aris to do fair work and be clear about what is and isnt necessary.

I just used Aris to fix 2 broken rear springs on my car- they were attentive, friendly, and gave a ridiculously fast turn around, I was able to get my car back the next day even though they had to find and order parts. As if this wasnt enough, my wifes car had an issue the very next day, when we were supposed to be heading out of town. I was able to bring the car in that morning to get looked at and everything was resolved by 4pm. Overall a great experience that gave me a lot of confidence in the owner/mechanics here.

Although the location is small and sometimes pretty busy, theyve always finished with my car really quickly. Alex is the man, hes very knowledgeable and a chill dude. I still go here even after I moved. Highly recommend.

Cant recommend this place enough -- service is reliable, affordable, attentive, and friendly! I went to Aris to figure out a stalling issue. Alex diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly. When I came back later with a concern (regarding what was likely a fluke, rather than an error on their part), they did beyond their due diligence to test the car (including driving it long distances and swapping out a part for free) in order to ensure it was in good condition. Refused to charge me for the extra work. Highly recommend them!

When I asked a clarifying question about the wait time, the middle aged gray haired man says “You’re so tense. Why?”I felt extremely belittled and frustrated that such a business can continue to ask women why they aren’t always smiling.

I almost never write reviews, but I want to recommend these guys. Extremely honest, personable, straightforward. They have told me not to do things I though I would need to do, and to do things I might not have thought of. And the time they installed a part that failed they replaced it immediately with an upgraded part for no charge, no questions asked. Good people.

I dont know much about cars, which has made Aris Auto a particularly fortuitous find for me. They are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, as well as patient, being happy to explain what they needed to do when my car needed maintenance (also without being condescending which I have known some car repair people to be). Theyre also surprisingly fast, having finished some notable work the same day I brought the car in! They are also willing to work on a Toyota Prius, while some garages would refuse to and expect you to go to a Toyota dealer instead. I am entirely satisfied with their service.

Its hard to know where to start in describing how great my experience was with Aris Auto. I brought my car to Alex at Aris after the dealership told me it needed $3,000+ in work. Alex was honest and clearly explained what did and did not need to be done (or what could be deferred and why). I left the car with the to do the work that actually needed to be done (~$800), and on my walk home, had second thoughts that maybe I should just sell the car (moving to NYC next week). I called and talked it through with Alex. He was incredibly understanding of my situation and willing to give me as much time as I needed to figure it out.I ended up selling the car with the provision that I did some work on it, and Alex again was willing to take the car any day and get the work done quickly while minimizing cost. They seemed to do a great job on the actual repairs, and were fun and enjoyable to work with along the way.The only bad part about this story is that I only found this shop the week before moving out of the area! I wish I could bring them as my mechanic anywhere I move. Would highly recommend.

These guys are friendly, knowledgeable, and honest. I took my Volkswagen to Aris after another shop was unable to diagnose a boost leak that was causing a significant decrease in power. The other shop told me the only way to find the leak was to use a smoke machine, which they didnt have. Although Aris does have a smoke machine, Alex at Aris was able to pinpoint the leak just 2 hours after I dropped off the car, with no need to fire up the smoke machine. To top it off, he repaired the faulty hose, refastened it with new hardware, and only charged me for the labor. Highly recommended.

My mechanics for years (honest and friendly; Carlos and Bob are both great), and go-to stop for gas because of the cash price which is always the lowest in town. (Literally. Its the owners policy.) They do inspections as well. Brought a beat-up Buick here for ages and they kept it safe for me; now I bring a new Subaru and they diligently the perform manufacturer-specified service.

Went in with a maintenance light on. They came right out to fix it in under 10 mins. Nice, easy and will be back when I need anything else!

Staff is friendly and funny, and always up front about what repairs are needed, and what you can put off. They offer reasonable prices and quality work, so theres no reason to go anywhere else (except that theyve become annoyingly busy lately, which probably just means the secret is out).

They are all so nice and easy to work with. They arent out to gouge you at all. I really appreciate that they dont talk down to me at all about my repairs, despite the fact that I dont know the first thing about cars. Great find.

I pulled into Aris Auto at 7:00am on a 10-degree and snowy morning to get gas and to check my tire air pressure. As soon as I showed up (looking pretty helpless) 4 cheerful and skilled attendants came out and helped me with my surprise flat tire. I will be going back to Aris Auto every time!! I was confident in their service and felt much safer on the road after having gone for a check up.

Cheapest gas around.However lately I found the service station to not be reliable. I brought in my Honda for a 60,000 mile service/check-up. They charged $80 for the check-up and reported to not find much wrong. A month later I had to take my car to another service station because it had several things needing repair. I think they charged me $80 to change the oil, because they hadnt even changed the air filter and I doubt they really checked out the rest of the car. Didnt appreciate their dishonesty.

This continued to be one of the best mechanics I have used. I wish I could find something equivalent after leaving MA. Great service.
