I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately I will not be going back. I was handed off between multiple nail techs, the owner was rude to her other nail techs and once I was done the owner was ringing me up and asked if I had cash for the nail tech; I responded no and that I was going to add the tip on the machine. She kept nagging me about the cash and I asked if they had an ATM (I was just very uncomfortable at this point) She told me next time I had to bring cash for a tip. - I just don’t carry cash, every other place is usually fine with the tip add on to the total. The service was about 80-85 dollars for a full gel set. When I was checking out the only option on the machine was 20% or 40% for the tip option. The owner was standing over watching me fill out the options. The whole situation was uncomfortable and very pushy. - I think the tip was like 20-25 dollars? I’m not sure because I just wanted to get out of the situation. I value tipping and believe it is the right thing to do. But, this salon is not located in a big city, or considered luxury, I think the owner was incredibly unprofessional and passive aggressively rude with her snark comments, and I didn’t even really like my nails.I also went home and re-filed my nails on my own because nails didn’t turn out how I wanted. I’m not usually the type of person to leave poor reviews but I felt that this situation needed to be noted.

Love this salon. Clean, relaxing, beautiful atmosphere, friendly and communicable staff. Technicians take their time and are gentle. Bonus for the Christian music they play! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

I really like this salon. Calm atmosphere, beautifully decorated, clean. Staff is friendly. I needed a repair done for services I received there and Kounson (the salon) welcomed me back to do the repair without question. I believe I have found my home salon and I can’t wait to go back! I would definitely recommend this salon to others :)

This is not where you want to go ladies or gents. Please DO NOT USE Mia!!!!! I don’t think she’s the owner but if you want your mani or pedis done right ask for one of the Latino ladies they do a fabulous job. Went in for a pedicure came out looking like I could have gotten it myself. Originally went in for gel color but changed mind before receiving service and that’s went the customer service went down hill. I was told if I couldn’t get gel nails that I could not receive any color. I know we are in Covid but people still have choices. I think it was a money issue at that point. Matter of fact This was the last time I’ll go but if you try it if they put you with any other person other than the Latino ladies get the Hell out of there!!!!!

Michelle and her staff provide exceptional service and great quality of work! They are friendly and highly accommodating with appointments. The salon is always clean with a relaxing environment. Safety is their highest priority and they have gone above and beyond with ensuring that protections such as plexiglass are installed to abide by covid regulations. Highly recommended!

I’ve tried a number of nail salons over the years and never found one I loved until now.This place has a real spa feeling with choice of green tea or lavender foot soak. There is soothing music and the nail techs aren’t yelling at each other while working.It’s very clean and they take care of their equipment and polish. A manicure lasts a long time.Their loyalty program is computer based so you don’t have to worry about bringing a punch card.They are a bit more expensive than other places but they provide value in that.I highly recommend it.

Kounson is the best salon in Somerset county! Michelle and her staff are very clean and show great customer service they wanna make sure you are getting high end products and service! Their spa pedicures are amazing! I highly recommend coming here! There is no other place like it!

Gorgeous salon. It feels like you are at a faraway resort. I got a regular manicure and it lasted longer than any other times elsewhere. Good product? Definitely my choice of place!

I really wanted to like this place because of reviews but I left with a very mediocre manicure. It surprised me that they didn’t soak my fingers before cutting cuticles and the paint job was something I could have done at home. The edges are not clearly defined & because they didn’t let the gel set each time before painting another coat the painting has vertical ridges. Unfortunately I didn’t realize until I got in the car & was in a rush to a wedding so I don’t know if they would have fixed it.

First of all it’s a pleasant atmosphere. It’s a clean place. It’s a top of the line and modern nail salon. They have special vents that take out the chemical smell so you can bring your kids if need to. They have huge line of offerings. My wife has been talking about how nice her nails looks for days and my wife is a perfectionist and gives it 5 stars. The owners care about the place as I was sitting there the owner was spot cleaning the door. Will definitely be going back.

They pretend to know what theyre doing but have no clue. Second rate nail salon. Their COVID protection procedures fall very short of the other salons in the area. Not impressed at all. Stay away!

If you are looking for a tranquil and serene place to relax for a bit, this is the place to go.Everyone is extremely pleasant and will go out of their way to make you comfortable.They take pride in the cleanliness of the place. Everyone gets their own instruments to be worked on.Extensive menu and they have several scents to choose from when getting a pedi so far Ive tried jasmine and green tea, both great!

I couldn’t not write a view after my amazing experience here at Kounson Nail/Spa! They strive on a healthy atmosphere and provide amazing ventilation systems! The ventilation systems are not only in the stations where you get your manicures at but coming down from the ceiling above each nail station and pedicure station. I received a spa pedicure by Kim and a gel manicure by Michelle and both could not have been better! They provided me with a warm heated lavender scented hot shoulder pad to further enhance my pedicure experience. They open new equipment every time you come in as they strive for cleanliness as wel! If I could give Kounson 10+ stars, I truly would!

So I stopped in for a quick manicure and fell in love with the spa like environment and the cleanliness!! I went back to take advantage of the 20% grand opening.. I showed up 15 minutes late and was no issue. They worked out fitting me in and even stayed open a little late to finish.I highly recommend this salon.

They see you right away, the service is good and the workers are friendly. Wish they had TVs, but I know theyre trying to set an ambiance of a spa.

Trust me I have been there to your place but I dont need you to believe me or anyone else. Believe me I heard what happened too. I cant tell what youre thinking but I think what you did was not right and you cant say it was ignorance on your part. There are many sides to a story. I am happy to defend those that I believe in.

Actually I will come back again. I did mani/pedi i mean gel manicures there was two my grils they did awesome job. Makes warm, smile and friendly like family I was happy so much with them. This place is best in town highly recommend.
