Ian and his team are terrific--Ive been taking my 01 Viggen ragtop here for awhile now---the team has done everything from regular oil changes to check engine lights/DIC replacement, to items such as replacement door speakers and a sweet new hood badge. A month ago, my Volvo started leaking oil. After reading many reviews, I have decided to go to Petersen Automotive for fixing the leak. Tyler and his crew are the real deal - straightforward, friendly and honest. They take their time with you and don’t rush you in and out or give you the runaround. They do high quality work and communicate openly about the status of your car. Quick anecdote about their character: recently, Tyler replaced a part during repairs and afterwards found it online cheaper than he got it for through his wholesaler. Because he didn’t want to overcharge me, he refunded me the cost of the part. I didn’t ask for or request this - they did this completely unprompted. That’s just how honest and fair Petersen is.

Great mechanics. I brought my Saab here that I bought this summer and they fixed problems local mechanic could not. Now I bring the Saab there routinely. Also recently bought an Audi that leaked oil (a known problem with car that I did not know when I bought used). Dealers and Audi America would not help or were very expensive. Tyler and his team completely rebuilt the engine and fixed the problem!

Having been in love with Saab since a child, its my choice of vehicle, a few years ago I found Peterson by accident, this is the only place to take your Saab! They also work on most other vehicles as well, Excellent ownership and staff to boot who are concerned about you and your car. Whatever the issue they can help. Five stars all the way!!! Super reasonable pricing and superb service!! I had my Saab serviced by another shop in Chicago and they charged me double what Petersen did. They didnt even fix the problem after two visits! It was hard driving from the suburbs and getting a ride back home just to find my car still not fixed! Petersen is knowledgeable, flexible, courteous, and awesome. Great effin shop!!!! I will take my Saab to Petersen for the life of my car. Honest, good people at that place, and checking out the cool rare cars in the lot is a bonus!!

Went in expecting to pay lots for a clutch replacement. They quickly diagnosed the problems as something much more simple (and much cheaper). The car was done only a few days later and for a very reasonable cost.

Petersens has Competent, First Class Service for any car, not just Saab or Volvo. They have provided the best service for both of our cars for many years, and I have only praise for them.

Its a tiny automotive shop that wasnt too far from my office. They had a good review on TireRack so I thought I would give them a spin. The owner had a couple dogs out front that scared the hell out of me (it was night). They didnt bark or anything, but I dropped my car off at night and I guess I just didnt expect to see two large dogs looking at me in that kinda of ...What are YOU doing here look. Thankfully, they didnt eat me and ultimately turned out to be friendly enough. Anyhow, for the 5 minutes that I was in there, they seemed extremely cordial and I left them my key and I had a friend drive me back to the office. While I was at their facility, there was brief misunderstanding and the guy thought I asked him to drive me back to the office which he said sure. I thought that was unusually nice and figured my new 08 Audi S5 was in good hands. They completed the job in an hour or two. They called me and readily admitted that they messed up one of the pressure sensors on the tires and said that they would replace for free (after they ordered one from Audi). Kinda of a hassle to have to go back there, but accidents happen and the people at Peterson Automotive couldnt be nicer. I havent had the sensor replaced yet so I will let you know if the service level changes at all.

Petersen Automotive has been a reliable source for repairs and maintenance of my Saabs for the past 15-20 years. The owners are excellent mechanics and very honest gentlemen.Repairs are done strategically. I have never experienced an unnecessary repair. A few times I was even told, you really dont need to have that done. The car is fine without that repair. A number of years ago the owners brought on Vu, a young mechanic who is now equally gracious and skillfully reliable.Petersen can repair and maintain any kind of car. However, they really know Saabs! Many mechanics dont. Their prices are competitive and their service is consistently excellent.
