AVOID DESERT HORIZONTenants with pets don’t clean up after their dogs, let cats wander over the place.Staff sends out “email reminders” Not helpful. People just ignore.Move out experience the worst. Have been in different apartments over the last 6 years. The frivolous “move out charges”.Other properties were willing discuss and waived some charges. Have always received 90% of deposit back.AVOID DESERT HORIZON.Unless you don’t mind paying “move out charges as outlined in the lease” and living with other inconsiderate people’s animals!
We love our cozy apartment, it feels like home! The maintenance team has been quick to respond to service requests. The office management made us feel welcomed and took good care of us. Weve had good neighbors the whole time weve been here. Our lease is ending soon and were moving out of state, otherwise wed stay. I would definitely recommend this place!
Honestly you will feel really bad and when you move out!!! Especially if you are someone who take care of rental apartments.I lived in many apartment for the last 10 years in multiple states across this country. Never ever had any bad experience with any management until I parted with Weidner.I lived in Desert Horizon for nearly 6 years.2.5yrs in 1st apartment (Did transfer to another)3.5yrs in the last apartmentFollow these if you need to be be saved from final settlement rip off.1. Sign the rental agreement (Best option is to avoid this step and stay away from trouble)2. Dont occupy the apartment.3. Just dust it frequently and keep it in pristine condition. The whole point is you should not cause any wear & tear even you renewed your lease and stayed in the same apartment for many years. The only way you can achieve it by not using the apartment.I lived in this last apartment for 3.5 years and the management is expecting it in brand new condition during move out. I know I maintained the unit very well. So I had lot of back and forth conversations via emails and calls. Finally only a pencil mark on a short wall is the one instance we both can agree as something not considered as a wear & tear. But still they are not hesitant to charge me $200 full apartment repaint cost. The final justification is they already paid for it to be done!!They also charged $50 for odor removal. I never had a pet, I dont smoke and I have vacated the apartment a month before the actual end date itself. They are saying there is an odor and cant explain what it is! Probably the smell of a moving out customer whom they dont care anymore!!Bottom-line, if you are planning to rent an apartment, thinking to stay in there and paying rent for your stay and usage, better find some other place. Otherwise you will be regretted.
My husband and I have been living here for a year now with our doggo and we love it! We are renting a newly renovated 2-bedroom and its very nice, especially for the location! There are a lot of kiddos that run in the back grass area and we love hearing them have fun making memories. This is a family friendly place.Weve had about 4 leaks over the course of the whole year and each time weve requested maintenance theyve come day of or the next morning. Weve enjoyed it here and havent experienced any issues other people are expressing.
The customer service is on another level. Thank you to Rubi for being so resourceful and answering all my questions! Looking forward to making the move in the fall.
I have been here 7 months and have had a great experience. We are right down the street from the high school, Our 2 bedroom apartment is very nice and was very clean with very clean appliances as well. The management here is very professional and very accommodating and responsive to any questions, concerns, or needs I’ve had. The grounds are nice and well kept and the maintenance and other staff are very friendly. Me and my daughter are glad we chose this place to live.
Honestly, the staff at the office is amazing. I feel personally that my experience has been great and I really need to recognize the integrity, compassion, and fabulous work of Rubi. Her ability and skill to effectively and efficiently work with me has really impacted my view and experience with the company tremendously. I feel heard and cared for as a tenant. While still maintaining her professionalism and insight, Rubi makes living at Desert Horizon Apartments feel cozy and familiar. I enjoy talking with anyone in the office, but Rubi has made a difference in my life. The maintenance staff is superior and Robert is absolutely fantastic!
Never go for lease in this apartment. You may feel the rent is less compared to the other apartments, but they will charge you more during the settlement. If you are a Indian definitely they will charge saying food odor, no matter whether you cooked or not in the apartment. They have one template for move out charges. You can expect below charges even if you maintain the apartment clean and neat and outsourced people for cleaning apartment.Apartment Cleaning : 50Apartment Painting for Food order(whether you cook or not-default) :150.Your security deposit you never get back because of these hidden charges.Few points noted :1. While vacating (3 weeks before lease end date), asked whether should I have electricity connection present till end of lease or I can disconnect from the day I handover back the keys - Answer given initially - connection needs to be present till end of lease. Later upon checking the high electricity usage after handing over keys, answer given was - electricity can be disconnected. Because of lack of responsiveness from management - I ended up paying additional electricity bill.2. Initially while occupying the apartment, the cabinet doors were broken at hinges and falling down. Bathroom washbasin was clogged. Bathroom lights were not glowing properly. Didnt give a good apartment. Upon checking with leasing office for fix on these issue - answer given was to raise service request for each and every issue present.Welcomes with big smile while occupying apartment but treat in opposite manner when vacating the apartment. I suggest not to go for this apartment.
I recently moved in and couldn’t be happier. Great neighbors and beautiful grounds. But the deciding factor was the incredible service and genuine kindness I received from David in the Leasing Office! I relocated and was very scared being in an unfamiliar state much less my own place! David made me feel at home snd comfortable! I felt like I already knew him! Thanks David and Desert Horizon!
Had an appointment to see a 2 bedroom. The property looked great, I was greeted by Rubi she was awesome and super friendly. Although we are not looking to move in for couple of months Rubi was more than happy to show us around and show us what options will be available. I am very happy with my experience and definitely will consider renting here once we are ready to make the move.
I love living here! The leasing agent Felicia is the best! She is always willing to work with you to make your experience the best it can be. I’ve lived here for 1.5 years and I plan on staying here for a lot longer. It’s in a great neighborhood close to great restaurants and the rent is reasonably priced compared to other complexes in the area. I highly recommend living here. This is coming from someone that is critical but I recommend living here because of the top notch customer service that I’ve received from Felicia in the leasing office. Thank you Felicia!
I love walking into the office the staff is always amazing . The level of professionalism definitely shows. I feel appreciated and attended every time I am there. Rubi is always able to answer questions . She is cheerful and helpful. Best team I’ve dealt with thus far. We appreciate all your hard work Rubi. Thank you
I walked in yesterday in a rush, and was greeted immediately. Rubi was quick to assist me, I had a very short time frame to ask a few questions. Rubi was very professional and efficient. She answered all my questions and was so friendly and nice. Provided me with a business card just in case I had any further questions.
Some Pros - its very near to American Express and Mayo Clinic. Also near to major shopping malls - Paradise, Desert Ridge and Kierland. We were living in this apartment which requires a lot of maintenance. Every maintenance request you submit - it takes a lot of time. Our kitchen top repair took around 4.5 months. Our bath tub was never repaired - please refer to the peeling off of the paint. We also faced issues for submitting the maintenance requests. Management reacted for these maintenance requests.Recently(Apr 2016) the management got changed and newer management is very rude, unprofessional and evil to some extent. Just avoid this place. Weidner management is pure evil. Let me state what happened to us. We moved here during June 2015 and management tricked us to move out during Aug 2016. We have a disabled family member for whom school wanted to have the special needs school bus come near to our unit. Generally school buses only come till the entrance gate. But management stopped the school bus to enter the premises. School objected that. Also we requested enforcement of the pet addendum(for pet cats and dogs). One of the dogs has attacked my kid in the past. My autistic(mild autism spectrum) kid got so scared that he stopped going outside and started living indoors most of the time. Mostly pets are owned by non Asians and management somehow favors them. Rather than working with us - we end up management plotting against us for eviction. We were going out of country for long vacation and wanted to renew the lease with the increased rent also. But the management keep on delaying the online lease process as much as possible. The moment we were out of country they hired an attorney and sent us the vacate unit notice. Management was well aware of the fact that we wanted to extend the lease even with increased rent but they delayed the process to somehow prove that we havent signed the lease. That new manager Donna was behind all this. Later management got us evicted also with a lot of fines/attorney fees. Overall our family has to shell out more than $8.5K due to this eviction from the management. The laws in Arizona favors landlords a lot. Finally they got us evicted. You can refer to my uploaded images - apart from their images(all those images are done by professional photographers and they are 100 times better than the real apartment etc...).After getting evicted - they further screwed us for apartment painting charges even when they cant show us in terms of when they did the painting in the past. Just stay away from this place - especially that crooked and evil property manager who came from Weidner. They have hired one of the worst attorney firm which will do every possible thing to take money from you.
I have lived in these apartments a few years now with my dad. Just this year I moved into a unit on my own with my daughters. This is the first time I have been on my own and let me say they have made it a great experience. These apartment homes are gorgeous and well kept. Management has been a blessing through this difficult time. I am almost 9 months pregnant with 2 little ones at home and let go from my job due to COVID. Management, Rubi in particular, has been helpful in every way. Any issue I have Rubi is professional, courteous, and answers me right away. She has made everything much less stressful for me. She is very knowledgeable so I I absolutely would recommend her if you have questions. Desert Horizon is a gorgeous and safe place to bring your family.
Went to check out the property the other day and see what the area is like. Its right next to a few freeways and has a lot of food and shopping places around, which is pretty convenient. Met Will and he told me about the area and people, seemed eager to help. Plus he sounds like Sterling Archer, which is totally awesome. Overall great experience, thanks!
We have been living in Desert Horizon Apartment since last few years. Weidner team here in Desert horizon are highly professional and established a seamless process for move-in, be it AZ local resident or resident moving from different state/country. They connect with resident and follow up with detail info to make sure resident well aware of all aspects before move-in. This community is good for family looking for amenities in close proximity.
This is a great place to live. There are some awesome qualities; it’s very quiet, close to Keirland Commons and Desert Ridge. You are right off Bell and 56th and 10 minutes away from the 51, so you can get anywhere quickly. The office staff is friendly, especially Felicia, they do have a caring attitude. Maintenance moves quickly when you do have a request, so it’s not a huge inconvenience to you. There’s is a lot of green space so if you have dogs it’s a plus. If you want to explore more there is a quiet neighborhood behind the complex that you can walk your family or fur babies. I would highly recommend living here.
Ive been happy to call Desert Horizon home since early 2016. The grounds are well kept, amenities are up to date, maintenance is fast amd efficient and the office staff is always helpful. I have live in 2 different units during my time because of required renovation of my first unit and must say the professionalism I experienced, support and guidance during the process from Rubi and the office staff was so appreciated. I even encountered an issue with pests as someone had moved in and brought roaches. Staff was quick to get pest control involved and eventually had to get the entire building fumigated to ensure the problem was gone. These things happen anywhere but what makes the biggest difference is the support you get as a resident from staff when it happens. They understood. And took action.
We have been at the Bell location for what is going to be our fourth year.It is clean and safe for my kiddo. A huge THANK YOU to -Rubi Beltran, Assistant Community Director, she is always friendly and positive and I know that we will be helped if chatting with her!
The maintenance staff is always great and respond to our work orders either the same day or the next day. Misim Abazi has been very courteous and professional the several times he has had our work orders . Thank you Ralf and Shirley Lendborg God bless you all!
The community is so beautiful. Has big mature tress. Super close to the kierland commons and desert ridge. Great price and Rubi is very knowledgeable. She answered all of my questions. Very helpful
I am looking for a future job move. This location was clean, quiet, and the staff provided me with a map to view the apartment on my own. I greatly appreciated this during Covid. I saw one of the renovated apartments. It was lovely.
My father and I have met the lovely staff who provided tons of helpful information. The residents are very welcoming as well. My father sells barbecue there on Sundays and throughly enjoys the experience.
Rubi is absolutely the best in customer service and very professional. Everyone genuinely cares about the tenants and have all been absolutely wonderful. Great place to live, I would recommend this place to anyone!
Great location. Very close to dining and groceries. The grounds are beautiful and the maintenance is wonderful! Will the community director is the absolute best!
My husband and I have lived here for the last two years! We love the location, ideal for shopping, hiking, and amazing restaurants. Just a few minutes from Kierland Commons, Desert Ridge and The Scottsdale Promenade. The staff is always welcoming and eager to help with any questions or maintenance request we may have.
I have lived at Desert Horizon for almost 2 years now. The community works very hard to keep the property looking sharp & presentable at all times. Maintenance request are completed in a timely manner & the office staff is very helpful.
We came in to tour a 2 bedroom and Felicia was very helpful! She answered all our questions and was very knowledgeable about the property. We love the location & we appreciate all her help!!
Have been very helpful and understanding during these Covid times. I appreciate all their help.
I live in a remodel house, which means all the appliance are brand new. However the microwave stopped working completely on 10/12/2020 and the complaint was closed saying the GE has to replace it or check it and they are available only in Mid December. Again we opened the same complaint, however there is NOT A RESPONSE on that yet. Poor part is, i have to keep my kitchen windows or door opened for anything to vent in this AZ winter which is terrible.
Desert Horizon apartments is a great community and the staff is part of that. Maintenence is quick to get to repairs and the office is fast at getting back to questions and answers on the application process. Great place to live.
I’ve been here for almost 4 years and the employees are super friendly, especially Robert and his maintenance crew. Their hard work is greatly appreciated, thank you!
I had put a work order in for a few repairs and Robert came by this morning and fix all my issues and also fix the issue I was having with my dryer. He was very helpful.
Janae had great customer service and was very helpful when I came in for a tour
I moved here a few months ago, and couldnt be happier !!!
Office staff are great, maintenance is very professional and respond quickly, great place to live
Lovely complex, David was super helpful. Can’t wait to move in
I coordinated with Felicia at leasing office of desert horizon, and she is so helpful to me that I was able to book apartment from India itself, and I found everything just perfect when I moved in the apartment. It is a well maintained society and Im comfortable here, so, 5 star!!
My wife and I recently signed a lease and will move in soon. We called probably about 10 times with various questions and either Juan or Rogelio always picked up and were able to answer any questions we had. Rogelio did video walk-throughs of both apartments that we were considering and got back to us very quickly. Weve walked around the grounds and it seems really nice. We were given a discount on a newly renovated unit and were very excited to move in.Well update this post as life goes on, but so far, so good!
I have lived in these apartments for the last eight years! Robert has always taken care of my apartment, the grounds, and pool in my area. He takes pride in his work, and always makes sure everything is tip top to my expectations. I give him 5 stars.
This is a review on Leticia the House Keeper at Desert Horizons she is one of the best people I’ve ever met since I’ve lived here and very responsive very courteous always friendly and a great asset to your organization
Nice place to live. Neighbors are friendly. Staff is amazing! Leticia is very kind and helpful!
I have been a resident for a few years and love the property. I feel safe and the maintenance teams takes great care of everything promptly.
My first impression was the grounds were clean, the koi sound was nice, and the apartment I viewed was newly remodeled. Will and Ruby were very helpful.
All the resident events conducted every month are interesting and enjoyable. Really my kid used to have a fun filled experience after attending these events. I love their creativity and expect much more events in the future. One of my favorite event is MOVIE IN THE PARK.
Weve been leaving here for 1 year and love it!Professional customer service by the office and the maintenance requests are completed in a timely manner with friendly service. The location is awesome!
I have lived here for 9 years and I love the community. Out of all the people in the office over the years no one has been as helpful and kind as Rubi Beltran the leasing manager. Shes been super accommodating with all of my needs during this transfer of my classic unit to a renovated. I wish I could give her more than 5 stars, its important to have trustworthy people in the office! I appreciate her so much. - Jose Nuno
I Have been living here since last year and there are water shut down abruptly. I understand it happens once in few months but that should also not happen considering the amount they charge for maintenance and quality. As for today 23rd July 2020 there is no water since 10:45 am and it’s been 6:30 pm now. Upon calling and sending emails they say that its a water leakage and fixing is going on. Don’t know when the water will be back but this is the reality. How can we survive without water is a question that the management needs to answer.
Rubi is wonderful, she is always so helpful. I love living here!
The worst thing in this community is Apt Numbers for both phase 1 and phase 2 are the same. Due to this lot of people face the issues like - missing important mails, missing groceries and food deliveries. We personally missed SSN and credit cards and now cant even think of ordering groceries or food online as it never comes to our Apt number and always delivered to wrong Apt.
The property is easy to get to and the nearby freeways make it very accessible. Lots of things to do nearby with shopping centers, restaurants even a golf course as well as hiking for the outdoors lovers.
Love all the resident events conducted every month. My kid used to enjoy a lot and have fun. The staffs are very kind and friendly throughout the event. Oneof my kids favorite event is MOVIE IN THE PARK. Each and every event is creative and fun filled. Expecting more of such events in the future.
Do not live here. The only thing I like is the layout. The apartments are dirty - don’t be fooled by the new paint. All they did was paint over the nasty mold. When we moved in nothing was clean. I had to scrub every area from top to bottom - black residue and sticky residue was coming off. Their maintenance is no good either. Water and electric was constantly being interrupted during significant times of day. The office is terrible. They never answer their phone, and when they do, they hardly help at all. Felicia was helpful and nice when we got the chance to speak to her. Their morals are wrong and screwed me over when they could have seriously saved me from a dangerous situation. Do not lease here unless you’re seriously desperate.
Went to go tour this apartment complex. Staff was unfriendly and not helpful. No one was willing to go over info and the apartment I viewed was old and run down for the price. Not worth the time to view this place.
Lived there for 3 years. Ive been pleased with this community and find the management to be helpful and maintenance competent and prompt. Like all other businesses, you have to be patient and keep talking to them, though. The decor and apartments are somewhat dated, but comfortable. I would recommend to a friend. Love the location and the mature shade trees everywhere!
I have been a resident here for 2 going on 3 years now and the current front office staff is the best staff we have had.... Their customer service is so much better than the old staff. The apartment rent normally goes up each lease agreement however I’ve looked and they are the cheapest in this area and by a good amount not just a few dollars and a nice place to live also super convenient location. I just hope they keep this staff happy because they are handling their residence as best as they can with what they can!
Weve been here 8 months and love it! The price is decent compared to other complexes, its safe (at least so far), maintenance requests are completed in a timely manner with friendly service, and the location is awesome! The only down sides (at least in our place) is the kitchen is pretty tiny and the cabinets are definitely not the newest, but would say the pros outweigh the cons. A lot will comment their place smells like Indian food, and ours did to begin with, but it goes away after awhile. Love living here!
Robert came quick when my ac went out. He’s a treasure! Lisa Collins
The staff is awesome including John Collins maintenance worker
I moved here from Alaska and rented an apartment sight unseen. The staff was amazing and very helpful in getting me set up. I love my apartment and my new community. I highly recommend this place.
Robert is true pro. Hes the kind of person who doesnt have to be asked to go out of his way to make sure you are taken care of. I am a six yr resident going on seven. Thank you Dan Ott
Have lived here for a couple month, its been great so far. Positives greenery, staff and upgraded apartment is nice and comfortable. Cons, are typical nosey neighbors and and covered parking is really difficult, nearly impossible if you have a truck or suv. Overall i recommend this complex, great area and everything is close.
I have lived here for two months and really enjoy living here. It is less than a mile away from my daughters high school and very convenient to shopping. The highway is easy to access. My apartment is situated very close to the 56 st entrance and is far enough away where I don’t have excess noise. The grounds are clean and neat and the staff has always treated me and my family very kind. My neighbors are very kind. If something needs to be fixed they have fixed the property very quickly. I have no bugs. Parking is very accessible. I hope that I do not have problems when I move out, as the reviews suggest. I have another apartment with Weidner for my son and they have been great as well. Maybe the previous company was shady.
Wishing the Desert Horizon staff a very Happy Holiday. Thank you for your WONDERFUL service throughout the year! All the best!Jerry D
I love staying here!! Good with Indian environment with very friendly people!!! Maintenance is good on time!!! Just these are very old apartments so will having issues about leakage sounds n all
I am really surprised at the low ratings on here. I have been here six months and have enjoyed it so far. My neighbors are all very friendly. I love the grounds in phase 1, lots of green grassy areas and walking paths. It makes it easy to take my little kids out for a stroll. I love that there is plenty of parking for guests and the parking lots are easy to get around in. Some complexes parking lots are so tight you can barely pass another car or back into a space. The grounds are clean and the landscaping is well maintained. Anytime I have ever requested a repair it has been handled within less than 24 hours. They even provided me chain locks on my door because my kids kept opening the doors and leaving them unlocked. The pools are always clean and enjoyable. A few times my upstairs neighbors have played music to loud late at night and after hours security handled it quickly. I looked at dozens of apartments before choosing this place, I feel that the rent is fair for the area. I would give it five stars if the water bill was a little cheaper and they did a better job updating the bathrooms. The bathrooms look fine, but its obvious they had some not so professional painters in the shower area, but nothing to bad.
Great place to live. Wood flooring on the first floor makes life great for my pets and easy cleaning for me. But importantly, I love the pool view right in front of my patio. Love this place!
The office team is the best by far! Rubi is my girl! Rogelio and felicia are great too! Ill miss them so much!
I have been living in the apartment since 11 months . Everything is good in the apartment, only I miss is a kids play area. Many events are conducted through out the month and kids loved them, especially the movie night.
I have given 1 star for the greenery around and closeness to work. But the place is deteriorating. Apartments are very old, can hear neighbor on sides and upstairs and people outside. Appliances are very old, the blowers keep dirtying your patio. They clean roads by filling your patios with garbage.I was told that my admin and application fee would be refunded but I never got it. They never showed up for move out walk through of the apartment. And then after you move out you get charged for unnecessary things that cant be proved. So make sure you walk through with them or you will end up paying lots of money. Better move to a place few miles away as the amount you pay as rent does not justify the quality of apartments they have. They should ask themselves what they charge is relevant for the apartments and service they have.
Will Jones made my experience great!
I do not recommend this place. For one, I was told upon signing my lease that I had assigned covered parking. I park there and get a note from a resident telling me to stop parking in his space. I take it to the office where I am told they gave my space to someone else because he signed his lease first. I was then told I would have to park in the other parking lot no where near my building if I wanted a covered space. I remind them I am disabled. Doesnt matter. I have a disabled veteran plate with the insignia on it and I cannot park in my assigned place in front of my building because they gave it to someone else instead. Second. I was charged 800 for watching a friends pet while he was out of town.Third. Maintenance sucks. They were supposed to fix something in the apt. Reported it as complete but never even showed up. Light bulbs in the kitchen went out. I was charged 6.00 per bulb to be replaced! Or i could have went and bought my own to replace them. They are those flourescent bulbs. So not just a bulb.Fourth. I tell them about the noise all times of night from neighbors and they do nothing. Just gotta suck it up even though i have work at 4am.Terrible place, high rent, pool not maintained or clean, cats everywhere, the list goes on.
Worst apartment I have ever lived in. Management is really bad and doesnt really care about anything other than money. They increased more than $200 on our rent when it was up for renewal. When we decided to move out they told us to clean carpet and entire apartment from professional cleaning company. We hired one cleaning company to clean the apartment but we still had to pay nearly $500.The apartment complex is mediocre, we had electricity problem during peak summer time for more than a week when they incorrectly wired AC unit.I dont recommend this community to anyone.
Absolutely incredible in every and all aspects!
Adrian was very helpful today.
I’ve never taken time out of my day before to make a review.. but today I’m beyond frustrated. Everything from start to finish with this place has been absolute hell. I’d give 0 stars if I could.
Just signed my 3rd lease, and I continue to like living here. The staff and maintenance are very nice and helpful. The rent price has gone up substantially, but Desert Horizon still has the best prices in the area (I looked around). There are a lot of dog owners here, and they need to pick up after their pets better. Other then that, this is my home.
I have been here for 4 years, we like it a lot.
Zero stars. Worst apartment ever. Only care about rent. They also charge for maintenance. Charged me for replacing kitchen lights. Beware.
Just moved here 3 weeks ago and I love it so far. assigned parking and the units arent too old. its dated but its still good. I also moved in fast because the staff are productive. Pretty Quiet neighborhood to. Only things that bugs me is the gym as it doesnt have the newest equipment.
This place was horrible. All they care about is your rent. No resident events, nothing! Most of the residents were Mid Eastern contract employees from AMEX. They were not friendly at all and the women were in the pool fully clothed while their gross husbands wore 1970 swim trunks. The pool is supposed to be open until 9pm and there were many times I went at 8:30pm and the gate was already locked. The work out gym is a joke and smelled like curry and B.O.I left my apartment spotless and they would not give me my deposit money back because they said it needed painting. I was there for 16 months and its cheap flat paint they used in the first place. When I moved in I gave them $100 pet deposit and my dog passed away during the year I was there. I gave them my vet bill to show them I had to put her to sleep. And, asked if they wanted to do a walk through to determine there was no damage the dog did. They kept my dog deposit even though I no longer have a dog and never gave it back to me when I moved out. They said it went to the painting cost. Then why call it a pet deposit? They were constantly sending notices that they were working on our water pipes and had to turn our water off for hours at a time at least 2 times a month. My hot water tank sprung a leak and is located in the outside storage closet and soaked the carpet in my bedroom. The maintenance staff acted like it was a huge inconvenience to replace it and they pulled back my carpet and had big fans going for days in my bedroom. I didnt get a break on my rent for my inconvenience, a gift card, nothing. What REALLY angered me is the unfair way they determine your water, garbage and sewer bill. I was single and lived in a 2 bedroom. Those AMEX employees had 6-8 family members crammed in a 2 bedroom and they split the bill evenly through out the building. And, they had a 3rd party do the billing so every month you get hit with an admin fee.
DO NOT MOVE HERE.First of all, I had a cockroach problem that had been extremely difficult to get under control. I saw bugs in my apartment daily and Im a clean person.Second, I had an extremely high electric bill. The insulation of the apartments is terrible. Since the units are older, it takes the heating and air conditioning an EXTREMELY long time to heat up or cool down the apartments. In the summer time, my air conditioning ran constantly. One time in the winter, my apartment got down to 54 degrees while I was at work so when I got home and turned on the heat, it took the apartment ALL night to warm up to 65 degrees. Summer time it was the same way, it took my apartment HOURS to cool off. In the summer time, Youll see the maintenance men continually on the go delivering portable air conditioners to different units.Third, I had to keep the vent fan continually going in my bathroom. If I ever turned the vent fan in the bathroom off, within an hour or so the entire bathroom smelled terrible like mildew. On the outside, when you first have a look at the apartments, it looks charming. The complex itself is kept very clean and has a lot a beautiful flowers and trees. I lived in an upgraded unit that had vaulted ceilings and new carpet. The unit itself was really cute. The office staff and the maintenance men were nice as well. However, this did not make up for such a negative experience.Im normally not one to complain about apartments. But, I want to keep people from moving here. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KEEP IN MIND: If youre attracted to the lower rent price, know that you will NOT save any money due to the electric bill being so high. This complex has really high turn over rates from what Ive noticed. They also always had a TON of vacant units. If you move here, I can guarantee youll be counting down the days until your lease is up and you can move.
I absolutely love this complex. The apartments are so spacious and I love how big the complex it self is. Staff is very helpful, and knows the residents by name. Great neighborhood, been here 2 years and looking forward to many more.
Liked: Heated pool, friendly and helpful staff, prompt maintenance, modern appliances, (proximity to work, school, playground/park), beautiful landscape, low noise level, covered parking, cable ready, fireplace.Disliked: Some may dislike that there is no shopping next to it. But we all got cars :PDee was very helpful and was one step ahead to help us move in as soon as possible.
Professional and friendly environment. Thank you for answering all my questions and concerns.
Front staff is nice. Although there is not much of a community feeling here. Its all about business and your money, your just a number to them, they raised everyones rent significantly (that seems to be the talk at the pool, how they could make such a decision for an extreme rent hike), raised mine almost $100 per month which I feel is unethical. I run my own business and I would never treat my existing clients this way and gouge them financially. You never hear them reducing rent, just keep raising until your forced to move.
Had a good experience living here for 3 years. The rent is competitive, maintenance requests are addressed promptly, leasing office personnel are approachable and lot of trees around in the complex makes it worth living here.
Rubi is great and super helpful!
I’ve lived here for a year now and going to sign for another year, then out of nowhere they raised my rent $85 a month!! The rent went up but nothing changed. I’m writing this because my daughter has been going to gymnastics for 2 years and loves it. Now that the rent went up she can’t do gymnastics. It’s so sad everyday she askes me when am I going to gymnastics, now that the rent went up we had to pull her?? 😢 if you move here expect that they raise your rent for no reason even after they said that they won’t. I even tried to negotiate so she can maybe do gymnastics but they were not even trying to work with me! How many other people is this happening to, I know there must be a bunch.. Nice property tho
This is the worst managed community I have ever lived in states. I was in three different states before coming to AZ and never received statement with unusual charges while moving out. I lived in this community for just 8 months and moved to other state Paid $350 deposit while signing lease agreement and on top of that I have been asked to pay extra $193 bucks for the charges like heavy food smell, touch-up paint and other charges for no reason. I checked with 5 people who moved out before me and all of them have similar charges for no reason. I dont recommend this community at all and construction itself very delicate. People who live in 1st floor can clear hear voice of people living ground floor and vice versa. Most of the staff is not even friendly, we have to listen to them and they dont listen to us.
So far this place has been pretty good! The reviews before kind of scared me, but we moved in anyways and I have yet to see the bad everyone’s been talking about! The grounds are immaculate, the pools are clean, and there’s coffee/water in the office every day!The office ladies are so nice, Braxton is so welcoming and made sure we got the apartment we wanted and every time my family or I go in there she asks how we are and how things are going :)The only reason I give it four stars is that it’s pretty expensive and fees are high... The maintenance workers also work pretty early which often wake me up, but I would exchange that any day for a presentable complex and it gets hot, so I’m glad those men get out of the sun before it gets too hot. It’s also in a great location, being in a residential area in North Scottsdale!
There can be only negative ratings for this place, especially from the time new management took over. Without 1 rating, it was not allowing me to post. For people who are thinking that they will save money here, I will say that if you are staying for more than 2 years, you will lose more money compared to other newer apartments around. I have lived in these apartments for more than 2.5 years. As they are old, the electricity bill is high. The grounds are green but not well maintained. The gym is super small and good only for beginners(no weights, few machines, fewer of these machines work).Staff is ok as long as you are new and staying. Once you move out, they will charge you huge amounts for painting(are they allowed to), carpet cleaning, apartment cleaning. Before I moved out, I paid to get the apartment neat and clean and, if I may, in better condition than when it was given to me.(When it was given to me by prev management there one of the room paint was not good. After my moveout, the new management is accusing me of repainting it. Did anyone ever hear about repainting a rented apartment in an apartment complex? That is so funny and irritating at the same time). So my suggestion, there are plenty of apartment complexes around that area. Please explore and avoid this complex as much as possible.
I urge you to RUN as far away as possible. They should be under investigation by the Better Business Bureau. The floors are horribly uneven, I rolled my ankle twice while living here and suffered serious knee problems. Their cabinets are falling apart. The carpet comes up. They charge $6.00 to replace a bulb. Their maintenance takes forever to resolve even the smallest issues. (Even when its an air conditioning issue.) Do not trust them. Do NOT sign a lease. And if you do... Photograph EVERYTHING before you move out. After move out I was sent several photos of a disgusting looking apartment and charged additional fees on top of them keeping my security deposit. I called and sent multiple emails explaining there was no way that was my apartment because I spent two days scrubbing it with Fabuloso with the help of friends. They NEVER RESPONDED and instead sent it to collections. When I followed up AGAIN after it went to collections the manager said she was sorry and would call me back in an hour to discuss. Several hours later she sent me an email telling me to take it up with collections.I asked to speak with HER boss and NEVER HEARD BACK. I will be reaching out to their regional office ASAP.If you do decide to live here.. TAKE PHOTOS OF YOUR APARTMENT BEFORE YOU TURN IN THE KEYS. They are scam artists and you should RUN.On a much smaller note... Before I moved in I was given one key to my apartment and I was told there was no gym. Upon move out, they told me I needed to return both keys and the gym key. I explained I was only ever given one key and was also told for the last year I lived there that there was no gym. The employee told me that was impossible because they always give two keys and of course theres a gym. Instead of acknowledging an employee made a mistake- she tried to make me feel stupid. Fortunately upon move out I showed my signed lease and it was marked down that I was only given one key and NO gym key. Oops. Its always one hidden fee after another and horrible customer service to boot.
Wonderful place to live. I was there for 2 years! Sara the office manager is great
Terrible! If i cud give negative stars, i will !! I dont generally put reviews like these, but this time its really that kind of situation. They increase your rent & then use your move-out opportunity as money making. So, if you have extra money u dont care about, then move-in & move-out.At the move-out, you will be charged for non existing things as well. ducts are very dirty & never cleaned thru year causing walls & ceilings etc. to go bad & then charge you for that. even if you clean apartment with professional services & share the proof, while moving out, they will find more ways to extract money. overall, stay away from this place unless you are not worried about finances. Anyone asks me about this, i just have one answer - A BIG NO .
Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Move here if youre into overpaying for outdated and hardly working apartments. Watch your back as maintenance and neighbors are always looking for anything to complain and fine you for. Also enjoy the pleasant sounds of children running around and the traffic of bell rd. Privacy schmivacy, youll get to know your neighbors real well through these paperthin walls.
We have been in this apartment for just over 4 months. Its in a very nice neighborhood around scottsdale, the service requests are addressed on a timely basis. Have had no issues so far.
