Barry personally did some welding on my 2020 Mustang Gt. He was able to fit me in for some exhaust work and I was extremely happy with the work. He’s personable and prices are very reasonable. I’ll definitely be back again, and I drove an hour to see him. Two other shops in Savannah recommended him and I can see why!

Background: Engine failed early last year and had it replaced under warranty at the Chevy dealership, but the new engine was very sluggish and car would take forever to get up to speed. Didnt bother bringing it back to the dealership because we were going nowhere due to COVID and was too busy at work. A few weeks ago I drove over a plastic traffic cone and a couple of days later noticed that the exhaust was noisy and hanging low. Brought my car to Barrys to fix that problem. Barry replaced the flex pipe but also examined the entire system and found lots of debris in the catalytic converter. He replaced that too and that solved the engine problem. Car is driving better than ever. Thanks a lot!!! Great service and very professional!

I went here because of the strong positive reviews. Don’t fall for the internet profile. The people, including Barry, are very nice. However, the work is poor. I came in with a straightforward issue. It was half addressed, but two new problems followed. After leaving my car for days, they sent me on my way without fixing the problem they created and the one they “discovered”.

No price discussed before service. Called to check on progress after two days and was told to bring parts for repairs but the diagnostic was not done on the car. Was charged 120 dollars and told that they could not do the repairs job and tried to keep the parts that were requested. These are shady business men and shouldnt do business at all if they wont be honest and treat people fairly.

This shop was referred to me. The people are very nice but the service is poor. I came in to get my thermostat replaced, but a few more new problems followed when leaving the shop. I returned my car the next day so they can fix the problems they created. After leaving my car for days, they sent me on my way without fixing the problems. They replaced parts that had nothing to do with my car issue and charged more than needed for the service.

I have a 2015 silverado 5.3. I had an x pipe and flow fx installed. I was unable happy with how quiet it was. So then I brought it back. Barry took it in no problem straight piped it and it sounds amazing. Great people, the welds and pipe bends amazing. I will never go anywhere else!

My aftermarket exhaust was rattling very badly. They put my car on the lift and had it fixed in about 10 mins. I will make these guys my primary shop for any needs my car will have from here on out. Very helpful, friendly, and fast.

This company knows how to treat their customers like family. I had a plastic flap come loose under my car after running over an object in the middle of the road. I frantically pulled up to Barry’s since they were the closest repair shop nearby. They quickly put my car on a lift and fixed the flap in a matter of minutes no questions asked. They didn’t charge me anything. If you want to go to a place that treats you like family, this is the place for you.

Husband left car there and Owner allowed a crackhead to work on car on the side. Dont take your car there. 1 month went by and then parts were missing off car, shame on you.

After dropping my Nissan Maxima off to Barrys Muffler shop nearly a month ago, it took them a week just to tell me I need new mufflers which would cost me $350. After waiting 2 more weeks for a muffler to be delivered, I again was reminded that my cost will be $350. Finally, once my car was finished I had to keep calling Barrys because no one can find my ticket information anymore and when I got to the shop to pick my car up, I was now being told I owe them $508. This place is very unprofessional and theyre lack of respect for your time and money is unprecedented. Will not recommend to anyone.

Accompanied my daughters boyfriend to the shop after they broke a hose, left parts unbolted, and scratched his car. Maybe if Barrys rude wife wasnt at the front desk, rectifying their mistakes would be easier. Telling your customer to pipe down when they are using an average tone of voice is definitely not good customer service. I also wouldnt suggest evading phone calls and stonewalling customers. Actually, if you cant do a job well in the first place maybe you shouldnt be in business.

Barrys Muffler and Brake is where I take all of my families vehicles for anything mechanical and for all maintenance. His staff are knowledgeable and professional. They do what they tell you they are gonna do when they tell you they are gonna do it. My wife recently had an emergency and her car needed a quick repair before she could take care of her mom. Barry and his crew dropped what they were doing to immediately take care of her. For that alone they truly earned five stars! Definitely one of best auto repair shops in the low country. Barry has a great reputation with the local hot rod community as well and some of the cars he has built are phenomenal! Trust them with all of your automotive needs, they will take care of you!

Excellent work on my accords exhaust, took it in to have a really loud aftermarket exhaust removed, had Barry install and weld a kit I had and did phenomenal work. Car sounds and runs great with no exhaust leaks, Barry and his crew were extremely nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

Great shop! I had Barrys do a cat-back duel exhaust with an H-Pipe on my 96 Mustang Gt and it looks and sounds great. They did the work a couple of years ago and I have not had a single problem. They have a great shop and you will get your moneys worth. We send all of our customers who are looking for custom exhaust or just repairs over to Barrys because we know they will do it right.

These guys know what theyre doing. I got a Magnaflow with dual tailpipes on my 2006 Honda Pilot (Its unusual but it sounds and looks great). Barry had it finished within 3 hours after dropping it off, not to mention the price was a steal too! Im very satisfied with their work and highly recommend Barrys for any custom exhaust work. You wont be disappointed!

Came in on a Wednesday, mechanic told me he should be done Thursday morning or Friday after noon at the latest. after receiving no at all on Friday, I call Saturday morning to find out that it wont be done until Monday because they dont do repairs on weekends. really inconvenient for me since I have a hotel booked for Monday out of town and my miss check-in. if I wouldve had prior knowledge of this I wouldnt of went here. also they are expensive. I do not recommend this shop.

I have a 2014 Toyota Tundra SR5 4x4 Crewmax. I want to get a dual exhaust. Toyota want $1500. I asked another shop, and they said they would just cut out my muffler. I would have lost almost all my back pressure. Barry put in a x pipe, and welded it all together for a fraction of the price. Great shop!

I called Barrys Shop and spoke to Shane. He is the best mechanic in the world in my opinion. I needed to replace my exhaust manifold on my 65 Galaxie. No one else would take the time to do it, due to the fact that they broke a stud off in the head. Shane, on the other hand, took his time and completed the job. He gave me the best quote and stuck with the price. I hate to drive 45 minutes to get a service done, but it is worth it. I will continue to take my vehicle to Barrys Muffler & Brake Center on Staley Avenue. You wont be disappointed.

I brought my car here to get the exhaust manifold fixed. They fixed it right up and was able to start driving in mere hours. There were new sounds from my car, by my car is from 1997 so there are bound to be problems. Good job guys.

Im a trucker I have done business with Barry back in the 90s on a 95 mustang gt he did an awesome job. Just bought my wife a 2016 Mustang Gt convertible and was going to do the exhaust myself but decided to give Barry a call just to see how much he would charge. He gave me an awesome deal on a cat back system with custom x pipe magnaflow competition mufflers and 4 inch crome tips. I had my wife bring in the car they treated her well and did an awesome job now the car sounds like a muscle car should. Dont bother trying to do it yourself they gave me a better price than I could have bought a cat back kit for not to mention I would have had to get under the car and do the work . Thanks Barry I appreciate yall taking care of this and treating my wife well. The only thing I noticed o would have had done differently would be have the tips come out a little more but thats just me.

I was looking for a shop to custom my rare Jaguar s type r exhaust, I explained to the guys what sound, configuration, and what would give me power...Barry personally installed my system with x pipes, magnaflow bullets for mids, with straight pipes, and finished it with 4 double rolled flow-pro tips.. I gained power and the sound was great, if you need a exhaust system looks the guys up at Barry/s Muffler they will take care of you!

Asked them not to weld my x pipe to Corsa muffler connection pipes several times. Not only did they weld them, they also flared the connection pipes, so they where no longer slip fit. I had to cut them off and order new connection pipes to bolt up to my Corsa mufflers and X. Also even though they are an exhaust shop they don’t have any band clamps and weld everything. Terrible idea.
