The apartments are aesthetically pretty, but when getting down to the actual functions of the place, its horrible. My fiancée and I have been here 8 mos and we hate it, however, we love the environment, the neighbors, and how responsive management/maintenance. Weve had several things break within the first couple of months that we fixed ourselves or maintenance has done. Our issue is with the rats and the central heating/air. The first night we moved in, scratching and scurrying can be heard within the walls. Ive seen rats on my screened-in porch and have had things chewed up. We suffered with a horrible odor for months within the walls of the bathroom. They have a great pest control team that comes out to treat but this is something I wish we were told about before moving in, as we have a small puppy. The icing on the cake, for us, is the central heating/ air. Our apartment gets extremely hot daily. The thermostat is always set to 70, yet its 80 in my house. You can literally feel the temp change in the front room (as the rest of the apartment is already hot). The air does not blow anywhere in the apartment AT ALL, except the front room, but like I stated, its still 80 degrees no matter. Ive stood on a chair and put my hand and well as paper, to the remaining vents, and NOTHING. No air, not even a breeze. The only fan in the apartment (master bdrm) does absolutely nothing to resolve anything. Basically moving around hot air. We are very hot natured people so this is a nightmare for us. We have trees around so the apartment is shaded but that does nothing. The outside unit broke and was replaced as well as the thermostat has been replaced but nothing. I keep getting the excuse about the travel that the air has to make, which is why the house is hot. The air isnt traveling anywhere honestly. The air isnt even doing its job in the one part of the house it is blowing. Weve gotten dark curtains and taken other measures to try to cool the house, and NOTHING WORKS. Im honestly over the place in general. Rent is too much for these issues and a 200+ electric bill, is something weve never had before moving here. I dont think its managements fault about the a/c, maybe just that the buildings are old and need some serious updating in that area.
This was an easy place to live. Older, but okay. Reasonably priced. Great maintenance. They can be difficult to get a hold of. I am still in need of some things from them and cannot get ahold of anyone.
Had to accept an upstairs apt when I thought I was getting downstairs. Cost me money to have heavy moved . Apartment had/has minor problems. Some fixed some? For the size and price I guess its not bad. Will look for other options at end of this list. I think management should of did a better job of notifying me what was actually available. Probably wont be recommending to this place to anyone. Dont believe the model apartment. Actual apartment is something completely differnt.
They love to say they’re professional but I did not pay in a check but yet you all send one out and when I get my check it’s not even the right amount I got back less than what I was supposed to. If you all pick up the damn phone you would know. I’ll see you all in court.
Every experience with my new apartment from touring to finally moving in, has been nothing less than exceptional. I have never had such wonderful genuine care from a leasing office before. Move in was almost effortless as everything was set up for me. Every question or concern I had was answered in a swift and helpful manner. The property and unit itself are gorgeous. Very up-kept landscape and the maintenance workers are very kind and helpful. Can’t wait to continue my living in this amazing new space.
We have the best Maintenance people here at Heron on the Bluff; friendly znd dependable!
So far, I have had an amazing experience with, Heron On The Bluffs. After a relocation on September 30 from San Juan, PR, I was tired and needing a home for myself and my two small dogs. I chose to come to Savannah, GA, to be near my my aging parents, now in their late 80s.My search, at first, presented many obstacles in the area. Then, I drove by Heron On The Bluffs. The property looked so inviting and calm, I did a u-turn and drove in.I went to the leasing office, where I was greeted by the coolest, friendliest, guy named, Aaron, we hit it off. I told him of my struggles trying to secure an apartment here in Savannah and he said, Sit down, dont worry.I did sit down and we shared some laughter. Aaron told me what was up, and available. The worst part about it was having to wait for the nearest available unit to be rehabbed and move in ready. I was living in a hotel.Well, today was move-in day. Aaron and his Property Manager, Dominique, made it effortless and streamline. I was ready. its been a long haul but I am now happy to say, I couldnt be more thrilled with my new apartment. 1300 square feet and super quiet and calm. Everything is in working order, including, new paint and carpet. If you are in need of some rest, in a world upside down, I, 100% recommend, Heron On The Bluffs. Ask for Arron & Dominique! They will help you transition and settle in.Sincerely,Alice H Tully
I received above excellent service . Our maintenance man is very kind and has been most helpful in resolving all of my concerns his name is Anthony.
They are some of the most caring and professional people. Ms. Dominique and Ms. Jolisa words cannot express my sincere gratitude towards these two fine young professional women.
Have been a resident here since June of 2017 and I must say since Dominique and staff has been here my experience has been great from maintenance issues being fixed and resolved quickly and the staff cleans up when finished to the front office Aaron, Dominique answering questions keeping me updated on what issue I may have reached out to them about etc. Very quite and well maintained property along with the buildings themselves.
Staff is very courteous and polite. Maintenance issues get done quickly
Dominique and her staff have been so wonderful to work with. We were originally supposed to be in Osprey, but Hurricane Dorian messed up timing. We had to be out of our previous apartment by a particular day, and the staff made sure we had a roof over our heads. They have been exceptional in getting the little things they weren’t able to finish before we got in out of the way. I’m so happy to be here!
We are set to move in less than 2 weeks, and I will edit this post accordingly. As of now we are very happy with how friendly, helpful, and responsive the leasing office has been. The apartments are beautifully maintained and we are very excited to relocate. We do not live in Savannah at the moment, and everyone has been extremely helpful. Even the maintenance man we walked by was cracking joke while we visited.
The staff is great and very responsive. They are constantly striving for excellence in this community and its greatly appreciated. From management to maintenance, all staff members work hard at the upkeep and to maintain the grounds and keep us all safe. - From a verified resident on ApartmentRatings
Do not live here. Extremely unprofessional staff. Needs are never met. Our AC bill was almost always over $200 because of the poor quality of the buildings. They appear nice because of a lot of the apartments got “remodeled” to look newer and more modern. Things in our apartment would break left and right and maintenance would take months to respond if they ever did after I would make numerous requests online and in person at the office. Our AC broke over 9 times during the period we lived there which led me to believe only bandaids were happening to a larger problem. We ended up purchasing a window unit just to be comfortable. The continuous miscommunication between the staff who works there and their residents is beyond ridiculous. I was never told the same thing twice. In the end we were bullied out of our lease and felt very disrespected. The property manager was always on the defense and came across as more of a warden and rule enforcer than someone who cared for or valued her residents. I could go on and on but there’s really no point. I just want it to be clear to anyone reading this, DO NOT live here.
I have had a great experience here so far. The staff has been very helpful. I look forward to the upgrades coming soon!
Ive been living here for two years. Neighbors are nice, the area is mostly quiet, and the apartments are mostly clean and easy to maintain. However, the property was sold a year or so ago and since then has changed management MULTIPLE times and everything has been consistently dropping in quality ever since. The apartments directly next to mine have been under construction for at least a year now, meaning everyone in my building has been dealing with jackhammers, nail guns, backhoes, loud music, and a huge eyesore. The so-called amenities included in the cost of rent also have not been available to residents for over a year. It was 2015 the last time I swam in the pool. There is no gym, nor a concrete deadline for one to reopen. There are no community events or social gatherings.I wish I could move, but I dont have the cash for a deposit on a new place. So Ill be here, paying jacked up rent prices for an apartment that isnt worth the cash, listening to the soothing tones of construction, wishing I had a pool or at least a treadmill to distract myself on.
The new manager and maintenance staff are competent and kind. We appreciate the lengths to which they have gone to improve our experience.
If you want your work orders to sit for months, and get a property manager who could care less than come on in.
Extreme lack of professionalism in communications with onsite management. Tends to lean toward enforcer and defensive rather than calm, professional and reasonable. Apartments are ok but lots of mildew, cleanliness issues on move in, heavy outdoor cat population running free, allows pets but no designated dog run area, some residents allow their dogs off leash creating issues for more responsible pet owners, service requests not responded to, broken glass and other garbage type debris throughout the property.... The cost of the apartments are not commensurate with the lack of amenities and challenges with onsite management. If you dont need to live here, dont.
Nice place to live.
We reserved an apartment at the Osprey location but it wasnt ready when we arrived so we came to Heron on the Bluff and we are extremely happy we did! Lisa the manager is excellent and went above and beyond to fix the mistakes the other property madw. We love it here!
The new lady who works in the office is an absolute moron. She isnt helpful what so ever and every question I have asked her the answer is ALWAYS I dont know
Beautiful community!
