I called to find out about having two belts looked at. I brought my car in, which Mr. Kaufman looked at. I was ecstatic when he told me that he was able to get the two belts and to do the repair while I waited. The price was great, I was given a new customer discount. I was also given a quarterly discount card which I can apply for future repairs. They also have a great Oct incentive for changing brake pads - participation in an annual breast cancer funding. Mr. Kaufman is a great example of calm, I felt relieved after the work was finished.

Owner explained my problem and didnt sugarcoat it. Certain repairs to electrical wiring had to be done before originai problem could be repaired. He said he was short on labor and could get my car in the next week to do the repair. He was courteous and polite during the process. Nice, clean waiting area. Shop area was clean and organized.

After returning a second time with same symptoms i originally brought it there for, the guessing game began. 800 dollars later, nothing has improved. No worries, i found a real a/c expert who diagnosed the problem and fixed it the first time. Something not even proposed as the possible problem by kaufmans. Oh well, Every shop has their expertise, auto air is not Kaufmans.

Being new to the Sarasota area i did my homework before trusting anyone to work on my vehicles. It just so happened to be that Kaufmans Auto was a few miles from my home and i havent been disapointed. From the first time i met Roger i just felt like he was honest and fair with his prices. Recently i had my engine blow up, i could have bought a new car but instead i had my vehicle towed to Kaufmans and within a day Roger walked me through my options. They replaced my engine for me, within a few days the work was done, not only do they do fantastic work and honest work but they had my car washed and detailed which was what put the expirience over the top! I’m going on a three week road trip so I wanted to get my SUV inspected to make sure it was good to go. They ended up doing a complementary inspection, which I wasn’t expecting but was very grateful for. The staff was extremely nice and personable. I might move to Florida just so that I can take my Jeep to them whenever I have an issue. These guys are the best. Hands down. Alright - a bit of context here is required to show why Roger and the Kaufman team earned my trust for LIFE even though I dont live in Florida.We were down for an extended family trip from Pennsylvania. While Im above-average in general handiness, Im woefully dependent upon a trusted mechanic when it comes to vehicles. Our van started making a rubbing/scratching sound from the wheels when making right turns, but was quiet when driving straight or left. Some googling and talking with friends led me to believe it could be wheel bearings. Slightly problematic because we were supposed to leave Florida to come back home within 3 days.I called Kaufmans at the recommendation of a friend and reading some online reviews. Called on a Tuesday morning and explained the situation and the time urgency. They said they couldnt fix it today, but if I could swing over that afternoon they could test drive it, diagnose, and order any parts that could be needed so they could work on it and fix it Wednesday or Thursday. Perfect - and smart thinking.Drive over and meet up with Roger, who takes it out with me and we successfully reproduce the noise. He agrees it sounds like bearings, but wants to throw it up on the lift to make sure. Does so, and says it doesnt LOOK like a bearings issue, and while hes talking to me from underneath the van all of a sudden says Fixed it.What?Yeah - fixed it. This here is your brake cover. It protects your pads from rain and grit from the road. Somehow it got bent a bit, and the rust on your pads then rubbed against it when youd make the right hand turns. I just bent it back out a bit with my thumb. Your pads and rotors are a bit worn down, but theyve got plenty of life to get you back home. Just in the next couple months schedule a time with your mechanic to get them changed. You should be good to go for now, but lets go back out and make sure.Head back out to test drive it - no sound. Amazing.We get back to the shop and he says Im good to go and thanks me for stopping in. I say Umm, wait - I need to pay you.He says Nope, youre good. We didnt have to do any work.Yeah, but you could have really taken advantage of me, and you did spend some time diagnosing things.Its fine - seriously.He earned a customer for LIFE ... if I lived in Sarasota. I was already prepared to pay him not just for fixing the problem, but for squeezing me in on such a short time frame.Unfortunately, I dont live in Sarasota and the next time we visit I hope to not have to see Roger and his team ... but if I do have any car issues, I know exactly where to go to.I quite literally could not recommend Kaufmans highly enough.

Roger and his staff were very friendly and helpful. I Brought in a 2012 VW Jetta with the Transmission failing. Needless to say a high ticket item that no one wants. I was debating to do the repair or scrap the car but I had kept the car clean and already replaced several critical parts in it which had me on the fence. I let Roger do a diagnostic test on the car to find out what else might need to be repaired to see if it was worth it to move forward with a Transmission replacement. His diagnostic was very thorough and he went above and beyond to find a used transmission with a warranty to keep my cost to a minimum. The diagnostic came back with a lot of suggestions that I am now aware of which will allow me to budget some time and money to get these things done in the future based on the car itself and priority. I asked Roger what needed to be done right now in addition to the transmission and he mentioned the back breaks were paper thin. I was wondering because just days before I thought I heard some metal to metal grinding on the car at a roll and his analysis just confirmed it. He also mentioned some other things I was aware of but was holding off on those things for a reason. Needless to say I went ahead with the transmission replacement and the rear brake repair. Roger never once tried to press the issue on some of the other repairs and seam to understand my position. He was very honest and upfront and I feel like he saved me a lot of money. The car seams to be riding great and I am now aware of some other up coming issues if I dont get them taken care of soon. I can say that I am glad to have come across Kaufman Auto Repair. My ventilation system was stuck on defrost. Another shop tried twice to fix it. It would work for a day then get stuck on defrost again. Roger was able to get the part and fix it the same day. And it’s still working!

Excellent and quality service. Had an oil change and courtesy inspection. A few small repairs were found and addressed, drive belt was worn and the oil fill cap was leaking. I had heard a buzzing noise that they confirmed and fixed in the a/c system. Other repairs needed were diagnosed and time frame of repair was given which allows me time to budget and prioritize. I appreciate the care of my vehicle with people I can trust so I may enjoy many years of safe driving. Facility is super clean and everyone is professional and friendly, highly recommend.

Called on Friday at 10:30am and was able to drop off my Jeep within 45 minutes for, as it turned out, a battery cable problem. Roger called within 60 minutes with a diagnosis and some maintenance suggestions. It was easy to sort through what I could do at this point along with the repair and what could wait. I didn’t feel any pressure to commit to more than I could manage right before Christmas so that was really appreciated. I had not needed a mechanic as my Jeep isn’t that old, and we are relatively new to the area. I think we have found our mechanic though for any future issues!

I have been going to Kaufmans Auto Repairs for many years now and the service is impeccable. They are very genuine, thoughtful and helpful. I recently bought a Jeep and brought it in to be inspected and they found serious rust on the frame and advised me to return the vehicle. They came to pick me up to save me from using Uber and refused to let me pay anything. I can not recommend this place more. So if you are in the Sarasota/Bradenton area, try this shop first.

Roger, Rhonda and Mike(mechanic) are all absolutely incredible....listen to this:I’m actually from Michigan and had some engine work done up here just before(approx. 3 weeks) taking the drive to FL to visit my grandpa, and wouldn’t ya know, as soon as I pull in his driveway, I see a small puddle of oil...It was a complicated situation because I was 1,200 miles from home and the warranty company would NOT cover the timing cover seal that failed and had just been replaced. I obviously didn’t want to pay another $1,600+ to have the exact same repair done that was just done 3 weeks ago.Roger and Rhonda were my advocates in communicating with the shop back in Michigan to get this mess figured out....and that they did!The shop back in MI ended up paying for this re-repair, and Mike the mechanic did an amazing job of re-repairing the timing cover leak AND repaired various other things that had been missed before taking the trip down to FL.The folks at Kaufman’s are so great, I might sabotage my own vehicle just to do business with them again.

The service I got from these guys was so good, honest and unexpected that it left me speechless. Seriously. I was stuck in Florida due to the Covid pandemic when I needed work done on my car. It was estimated,originally, to be about $ 850.00 which would have been a pretty good price for the work I needed done. I agreed. The car was dropped off on Friday a little bit after 8 a.m. . I was told I would probably have to pick it up Monday morning but they would try to get it done by the Days end. They called me at 1 and told me that my car was done and it would only be half price. Jim was AWESOME! I cant say enough good things about these guys except for thank you.

I called Roger and explained that I had changed out the seats on my 07 C70 Volvo without disconnecting the battery and now my SRS light was on. He had me bring it down to the shop and in less then 3min. He was able to clear the codes. The dealer would have charged 150.00 Roger charged 1/3 and I was grateful. The shop is clean and the folks are nice, I believe Ill use them again.

Helped me schedule repair easily and get general information.Im pretty hands on with cars and had my own personal mechanic for years. Since I moved to Florida I needed to find a mechanic that would help maintain my vehicles. I self diagnosed (consulting my mechanic back home of course) an issue with my left front wheel bearing. I told this to Kaufman and sure enough it was the problem and the vehicle was fine everywhere else. I like that they are honest about repairs and fixed only what was wrong.Have to say I was surprised at the cost of parts though. Having always ordered my own parts I felt the cost was more than I expected. Consulting my mechanic he said get used to it lol.All in all great service and I will definitely use them again in the future.

This is a shop you can trust. They do not overcharge or push unnecessary services. My car needed a laundry list of work; they gave me a list, helped me prioritize what was urgent and what could wait, and we scheduled services based on that. They are honest and do good work.

I have had the pleasure of doing business with Kaufmans twice. On both occasions, they surpassed my expectations. They are efficient, professional and friendly. In fact, they even gave me a ride back to work after dropping my car off for repair. Who else does that? Im truly impressed by their service. As someone who has worked as an auto tech, I can say it’s very rare to find a shop of this caliber. Lastly, I chose Kaufman’s due to the excellent online reviews. I was not disappointed!

Everyone there is very friendly and nice. Roger is very knowledgeable and most of all trustworthy. I always wait while my car is being serviced, great comfortable waiting room. I would highly recommend them.

I came into Kaufman’s by reading a review on Angie’s list. I really didn’t know who to choose because I am very new to the area . I was buying a car and needed it checked out before it was all final. From the moment I walked in I felt comfortable. Barb, at the front desk, greeted me with a smile and some very helpful questions as soon as I walked in. She was also at the end of her day, however, she still helped me everything I needed in a professional, courteous way. I had the car checked the next day in the time she said it would take . I was given a complete run down of the car and I felt they seemed and I was comfortable with their whole process . Their prices were reasonable and I would suggest them to anyone I meet . They also have a very cool waiting room which is clean and updated nicely . You can tell the people here take their jobs seriously and do the right thing by their customers .
