I needed a service person to come out on a Sunday when my AC died. They responded quickly and was able to provide a temporary solution but told me I needed a new system asap which I had already been told that it was only a matter of time, that time was now. I received an estimate the next day and a new unit installed a few days after that. No pressure, no upselling. Great service! I have and will recommend this company to everyone.

I didnt use their heating & air conditioning services. Instead I had their Insulation Div add more attic insulation to our existing .. they did a fine job at a competitive price. I would definitely recommend Wentzel Insulation Div for attic insulation jobs.

Just had them replace our AC in Venice. They serviced our old unit for the last three years, and the workmen they sent out have always been great. The three they sent today were quick, efficient and extremely polite. The new unit looks great, and seems to be working well. I am a realtor with Michael Saunders and Co and was at a clients condo with a home inspection. During the inspection the ac would not come on so my client called her AC company. I was blown away when they arrived before the buyers left the inspection and repaired the issue giving both the seller and buyer piece of mind. Carl, the technician even responded to my texts after the service answering a concern I had. To top that, I needed a copy of the invoice and Chris in the office had a professional typed version sent to me immediately for the file records. Wentzels will now be my new AC Connection.

We just had Wentzels install foam insulation on our 1950s ranch and in just a day we can completely tell the difference and its a huge one! No musty smells at all and the two registers that were always damp and sweating water are already dry. The team was efficient and and respectful. We would highly recommend Wentzels Insulation.

We have bought 3 ac units from Wentzel’s. Two were residential and one commercial. They were servicing another one of our commercial units and sent a repairman out because it was leaking water. He supposedly fixed it but a couple of weeks later it started leaking again. We requested a different tech since the first guy didn’t fix the problem but they sent the same guy out again. This time he took buckets of water out of the ac unit and put them into a 50 gal trash can that he found behind our factory. He rolled this trash can through our factory and destroyed $6200.00 worth of prints (artwork) by getting them wet. They were up on a shelf and and he sloshed them with water. We immediately called Wentzel’s and the owner Ted came out. He claimed that the problem was the leaking ac which they had fixed 2 weeks before. It is literally impossible for prints up on a shelf to have gotten damaged from a floor leak. We ended up buying our new ac unit from D and D air conditioning who we highly recommend. They also looked at the commercial unit that Wentzel’s had installed and pointed out that it was “sweating”. We tried to settle this with Ted Wentzel and his response was “If I wrote a $6200.00 check to everyone that asked for it I would go broke.” They are a joke and don’t stand behind their work. I would not recommend them after buying 3 ac units from them. They are terrible.This is in response to Ted Wentzel’s untrue response below. He and his assistant took off the baseboards and found moisture. There was no “flooding”. His tech Carl sloshed water onto shelves containing prints and all over the floor. His response is totally false. Instead of being a reputable business owner and fixing the problem, he promptly went to..... It’s not my fault. Even if Wentzel’s bogus story was true (which it’s not) they had just repaired the unit 2 or 3 weeks prior. Stay away from a company like this that doesn’t stand behind their shoddy work. Attentive detailed work. First time anyone suggested multiple shut-off float switches for our A/C, which we needed because another single float switch from another provider failed.

***DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE ARROGANT AND DECEIVING ***My home A/C unit stop cooling on Saturday May 30th. I called Wentzel’s as I bought a brand new A/C unit from them about 1 year ago. I spoke with Lisa over the phone and she mentioned to me that there was going to be no service call charge and there would be a charge if the issue was a maintenance related problem. Lisa also mentioned me that the technician would assess the problem and before fixing it, he would talk to me and explain what needed to be done, pricing, etc. When the technician from Wentzel’s arrived he looked at the problem and fixed it in 20 minutes. The bill was $210.00 ($115.00 from flushing the drain line, and $95 service call). I was really upset that he charged me so much for such a simple fix, AND that he also charged me the service call fee. He never explained to me the problem and how much it would cost, before he fixed the issue. I would have done the fix myself, and paid the $95 service call fee. I spoke with the different people over the phone, including the office manager (Cindy Truett) and they refused to remove the service charge. Cindy was very arrogant and said that Lisa explained everything in detail multiple times, which is not true. I have a doctorate degree so I consider myself having at least average comprehensive skills to understand Lisa, especially is she was so detailed and explained so many times. Clearly, this was not the case. Cindy (office manager) was unapologetic and said that their offer was final (a very small discount), and if I did not pay this, it would go to the collectors office, basically threatening me. This way of doing business is upsetting, especially since I bought a brand new unit from them last year. I feel I was taken advantage of, and the technician never spoke to me about the problem and costs. He rather fixed the problem right away so he can charge me whatever he wanted. The technician even forgot to turn back the UV light before completing the job.***DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE ARROGANT AND DECEIVING ***

A service tech. named Zach came out and diagnosed the problem very quickly. Had to order parts. Came back and installed part and checked outside units and I’m well pleased with service.

Wentzels came highly recommended by a coworker. My A/C was down and Billy came out on on a Saturday evening and diagnosed the issue within minutes. Quick, efficient and friendly service. He was on site for no more than 20 minutes and the cool air was flowing!

My parents recommended Wentzel to me after they received 3 quotes for a complete system replacement and Wentzel beat the others by $2500. I decided to see if that was true in my case and not only did they beat the others by thousands they installed two days later after Billy gave me a quote the day before Thanksgiving. The installers had a great work ethic and did the whole job in one day including complete new trunks and ducts!Highly recommend.Greg

Called Wentzels about our AC unit and Billy came at the time he said he would. I told him what i had in mind and we went over everything. He offered several options, I had a few questions and he answered them with an explanation for it. When Billy left he said he would call or e-mail in about a hour with a proposal, and he did. Today two men came on time to do the install. Very polite and professional. They made the new air handler that is in a closet look like it was put in when the house was built. They cleaned up and explained the operation of the new unit. Very happy with overall experience.

The experience with Andrew and Jason today was top notch. Both were very professional, very knowledgeable, and very good at what they do. They did an exceptional job removing all of the old insulation from our attic. There are not a lot of companies out there willing to take on such a messy job, much less do it at such a high service level.We could not be more pleased with the work they did: very thorough, detailed, and courteous. I would highly recommend Wentzels.

**I believe Wentzel’s is unfairly overcharging its customers. They installed a new HVAC system in my home in 2016 and have maintained it ever since. I always found them to be reliable, polite and reputable. I also recommended them to friends. Unfortunately, my opinion of Wentzel’s has drastically changed after their most recent service call. When our A/C stopped working on Friday evening, they sent their “on-call” technician here to diagnose the problem. A refrigerant leak was detected in the heat pump reversing valve, and the necessary part would not be available until Monday. The technician gave us the option of topping off the refrigerant to try to get us through the weekend, and we agreed. We were charged $350 for that service, which turned out to be a waste of money as the A/C shut down again the following morning. On Monday, the same technician came and replaced the leaking valve, which was still under warranty. I have no complaints about the politeness or professionalism of the technician. However, the $1,673 bill for this job (on top of the $350 already paid) was a complete rip-off. When I questioned the charges, I was told that they would reduce the new bill to $1,500. After I paid and the technician left, I looked more closely at the invoice. There was a $900 charge for 12 lbs. of Puron refrigerant (which sells for $5 to $8 per pound), a $248 charge for a filter drier (which sells for about $25), and a $275 charge for labor. There was also an additional charge of $250 for “warranty processing.” Note that the Rheem reversing valve replaced under warranty can be purchased for around $150, so Wentzel’s $250 “processing fee” made the warranty meaningless! Wentzel’s is charging about 10 times what it pays for the parts it provides. That’s a 900% markup! They charged $248 for a $25 filter drier, and $900 for refrigerant that cost them less than $100. That is unconscionable! At a normal parts markup of 25% - 50% my bill would have been around $700 instead of the $1,500 I paid. Such overcharges amount to price gouging and are unethical and unfair to the customer. I therefore can no longer recommend Wentzel’s to anyone. You can look up the retail prices of Puron R-410A refrigerant (sold in 25 lb. Tanks), the BF163S filter drier and the Rheem reversing valve online to verify the information I’ve provided above. Comments from Wentzel’s would be welcome.

I wanted to write and say how totally happy we are with WentzelsHeating and Air Conditioning. One of the last gasp hot hot week of the year our 20 year old AC system finally died. We did our due diligence and got three bids, one from our existing company, one from another local entity (cant even remember their name) and then Wentzel! What a pleasant experience from the very first! A bit of background, for 20 years two of the rooms in our home always ran backwards, if we used AC they were hot, if we ran heat they were cold....never a fix. Our sales man Billy,took a look and instantly saw the problem...it was with our duct work and it was literally bent and pinched so it never worked properly. Anyway, within one week, we had a brand new system, perfectly installed (no kinks in the duct work any more) and for a great price! I highly recommend Wentzels! We always try to work with locally owned and operated companies. Anyone cannot go wrong! Many thanks....and the heat works great too.

Happy but disappointed at the large bill charged for AC repair . The technician was prompt in arriving and diagnosing that a dual run capacitor was the problem. Cap replaced and job completed in less than 15 minutes but I was charged $185 total for a part that costs $11.00 at Amazon. To be fair I feel that a reasonable business charge would have been ~$95.00 for the part plus $100.00 in diagnostics & labor but I had to pay $280 total.Bottom line: Wentzels is professionally very good and efficient but pricey.

This company is INCREDIBLY professional and timely. I would HIGHLY recommend them. Kathi Huss is absolutely the best coordinator I have ever worked with in regards to work projects. The two gentleman (one of them was Patrick) they sent out to our unit to perform the insulation were outstanding. They were nice, professional, timely, and they even did a fabulous job cleaning up after the job was done. They accommodated my schedule so well, and were fast to coordinate, and got the work done so fast and efficiently! I wish all companies were this easy to work with. Their pricing is also great! I cant even tell you how pleased my boss was with the work that was done to his property by Wentzels Insulation. OUTSTANDING! 5 Stars!

I’ve known of Tedd for many years. Before doing business with each other, he once stood up for us when Sarasota County was causing neighborhood problems. It’s why we eventually gave him a contract to fully replace 7 different A/C units for rentals we have/ our home/ and our parents home. What first seemed like a good idea to go with a company who’s owner was a stand up guy has turned into a nightmare with 2 units completely down - not working now, another that has needed more service calls for low freon than the unit cost, a unit that is sweating in a house that never sweat before, and now on this recent call for a new unit, I am currently being told that I would need to wait for four hours on a day I cannot be here for an inspection to take place. Yes, a lady in their office told me that “I” needed to wait and do the inspection process myself (even though I have never needed to do it before) - even though everywhere else in any other state the contractor handles the process in the event there are technical questions or tools are needed to remove covers or plates for the inspection process.. As of late I’ve also received an invoice with red pen demanding payment for something that was past due. Well- they sent it to my tenant who never had the service. When calling about the inspection situation now, the lady on the phone was extremely rude, condescending and did not care what was done in the past nor what problems we faced to get this unit done. “I’m just telling you what my job is, sir.... you need to do it” Needless to say, it’s time to find a new company that wants to stay true to their base.

On Jan 2, 2019 we had annual maintenance performed on our park model homes AC/heating system. The work was performed by Luis Soto, a tech who works for this company. His work, attitude and willingness to take the extra time to address our concerns was absolutely top notch.

Fantastic! - I had to let you know how happy we are with the job the guys did at the house last week. They worked their tails off. Billy D took great care of us from the start. Lisa as always, very helpful with the billing and scheduling. Taylor is a super nice guy, great housekeeper too. I told him I was going to keep him around just to clean up for us on the regular! Hahaah. They were SO CLEAN the whole time. You couldn’t tell anyone had ever been there, even in the middle of the job. I got home at 6:30 on the 2nd day and they were still there cleaning up. I finally had to tell them it was MORE than enough, go home! They were so concerned that it be spotless before they left. Steve worked super hard and Kyle was helpful in letting us know what was going on with progress, what to expect during the next few days after they left, how the new thermostat worked etc. It was a heck of a job too with where the unit is outside and the handler up in the attic, they had to work extra hard to get the old one out and the new one in. It looks amazing and works fantastic. Thank you for having such great employees and great products for your clients. I know you and Ted take great care in everything you do and it definitely shows. Wentzels installed and maintains our HAVC system. I am pleased with their service. Luis just completed maintenance. He was very thorough, polite and professional.

After calling almost a dozen local companies, one of them quoted me for almost $8000 to replace the system. Wentzels did the job for almost $3000 less (same exact brand and same 3.5 ton unit capacity). Person I had to deal with was Garth, and he took wonderful care of this whole process. Installation team did a great job too, timely, efficient, and did a great job putting up with 2 helpers (ages 3 and 5). Drain pipe was not leveled well, but company sent a great technician (Dwain) to take care of the issue immediately after my call. He came back twice to make sure that drainage was unclogged and he also redid some of the plumbing. No charge. Again Garth followed up to make sure that everything was running as it should. I highly recommend Wentzels, as my experience with them was fantastic. Better price, better brand, great service.

My AC quit working contacted Billy he was out there at 2 o’clock the same day.It was decided that the old system was not worth putting the repair money into he gave me an excellent price compared to other companies and by 830 the next morning the installers were there putting in my new AC unit works great, great company and quick response thank you Billy and installers

Quality contractor. I used them for spray foam insulation and HVAC (mini-split) install on a new build. I didnt know they have an electrical division too or I would have used them for that as well.

My AC broke down on a very hot Holiday weekend. Called Wentzels AC after reading reviews and Nick came to my house very quickly and fixed my AC and for a price that was alot less than I thought it would be especially for a holiday! A+++++++++ for wonderful service and price!

After talking with many HVAC contractors and receiving an equal amount of estimates, I chose Wentzel’s to perform a complete replacement of the A/C, duct system and add new attic insulation in my mom’s home.Mr. Billy Draffin came out to the house and did a full evaluation. He looked everything over—down to the registers—in an effort to provide the best improvement to an aging system. Mr. Draffin introduced us to the Goodman brand with an exceptional warranty. It is nice to support a brand that continues to design, engineer, and build their products in the USA; Goodman also provides jobs for our veterans. Mr. Draffin was patient with all of my follow-up phone calls and never pushed anything that wasn’t needed.The installation crew arrived—on time, uniformed and even the trucks were clean—and went straight to work. Their professionalism is event in the attention to detail and careful craftsmanship. There are no haphazard connections nor sloppy hanging wires, the entire system looks very well installed. Once all was finished, the crew made sure no mess was left behind. Even the warranty registration was taken care of. Couldn’t be happier—great crew, price and system!

Wentzels is a rip off company. I called to ask them a question and the next thing I knew their tech came out and charged me $142.00 to answer my question. I tried to resolve this with the owner, but he’s a COWARD who won’t return my calls. Stay as far away from them as you can. There are so many reputable A/C companies like Gator, Anthony’s, and even 1 hour A/C. Unfortunately Wentzels isn’t one of them.

I decided against doing business with this company because my research found that the owner simply rents a license, and has only done that for the last 2 years! According to public records up until 2010 he had no license at all – but they claim to have been in business for over 50 years?

My allergies were reduced dramatically within 24 hours!

Our AC unit was fried from a storm and Wentzel’s sent someone out right away to replace. They took care of everything for us and we’re very courteous and professional.

This company is the WORST - have had a twice annual prepaid service contract required by landlord. First they failed to notify us at renewal time (every year), then they only do 1 of the 2 required annual services which violated the terms of my lease. The system breaks down and landlord asks for copy of required service reports and guess what there is no 2nd service for the year. They come out and fix breakdown and then bill me at higher rate as contract had expired (never notified us). Then when I call they say contract hasnt expired because they didnt do 2nd service. This is just the worst run operation -happy to take your money but then they just disappear and respond that it is my responsibility to have them come out and do the services. Too many legitimate AC companies out there to pick from so pick someone else.

Wentzels was GREAT! Absolute TOP NOTCH service and experience! They earned my trust by being honest, professional and transparent. I know, right?! In my opinion, this is the only A/C company that I will work with in Sarasota/Bradenton! A+++I was petrified to bring an A/C service person to my house. Each time I thought I found an air conditioning company I could trust, up came horror stories or rip-off/scam reviews online. A few wanted to send someone first to inspect my home before sending a tech to do my annual maintenance. HUH? Friends also shared horror stories. I had all but given up and felt my father-in-law and I would always being servicing my A/C units until the end of time (more him than me).However, I have to fear no more! Wentzels was great. Tanya worked around my dynamic schedule. Tim showed up early and was friendly, professional and real. He got right to work, but took the time to literally explain each task he did while I followed him. Genuine, sincere, hardworking and honest. Left every area he worked in cleaner than he found it.Though I rarely write reviews online, there was no way I could let another me sit out there, searching in frustration, trying to find an A/C company they could trust. I assure you I found one and as it stands now, I expect to be a lifer.

I have a 20+ yr old unmaintained AC and decided it was time to have someone check it out. I research BBB rating, online complains, manufacturer service dealer for my AC proximity, etc. and Wentzel was one on my short list.I called another company first who I felt would be better but after leaving 2 voice mails and sending an email (from the dealership page no less) and still no response after a week I called Wentzel.The service was exactly what I was after. I found the technician to be very experienced and easy to talk to. I had many questions about the condition of the various components, etc. so I could prepared for a future repair or replacement. The technician was honest, straight-forward, friendly, told me what he would do - all with no pressure to do anything. Going forward, I consider the company my go to for AC issues. The service maintenance costs is about the same as others if you get the contract or a little more without but I can say if you want a top self, honest, no pressure AC company this is certainly one.

Ive gotten scammed by other companie so I do alot of research. . Go with Wentzels. They put a new ac system in my house and were wonderful to deal with and very professional. What a Great Installation Experince we had today! Toatal removal of our Old Air Handler and Compressor.. replaced with all new equiptment !! This was a tough job to do, (very limited access at air handler area) Thanking God for Steve and his helper and for his expertise in dealing with a not so easy job. We are up and running just fine !! I was attracted by unusually great number of flowery Google reviews. I called Wenztels Air on Thursday morning of 10/22/2015. The next day Friday 10/23/2015 technician Andy has come to our house. According to the presented bill - the fan motor replacement cost was $375, 1 hr labor at $85 and something labeled 10x370 - $48. Total bill was $508. After the repair A/C unit has been working for most of the day, but quit on the night of the same 10/23/2015 with the same symptoms as before: the blower inside the air handler was blowing, but the condenser fan was dead again even with a new motor.Next morning 10/24/2015 (or two mornings after our initial call on Thursday) at 11am we called Wentzels Air, and a male with name Shane picked up the phone. He said he will call Andy to find out what hes done on Friday and will call me back shortly. The temperature at the house was already 81F. 45 minutes later around 12pm I decided to place a follow up call. Shane said he will be at our house between 3 and 4 and will call an hour prior his actual arrival. We stated that we will wait, but we have a prior commitment and leave the house by 4:15. We have not received any calls by 3:45pm. The temperature at the house was 84, and we decided to call Wentzels number again. Shane said he cannot be here by 4pm, but may be by 4:30.I am 60 years old, and have been treated rude and disrespectful before, but this time in addition I was treated by Shane like I am a mentally deficient beggar. As a result I mentioned to Shane that in this case we would not want to pay their bill of $508 for presumably completed repair on Friday and may be better call the other A/C company who could help us. The phone clicked and line appeared to be disconnected. I called back - no reply. My girlfriend called from her phone with no reply, I called from mine again, and left a message. We never heard from Wentzels Air ever again. ....It looks like despite the advertisement of working hours 24/7 - during the weekend Wentzels office phone line is forwarded to the mobile phone of that person Shane, who instead of helping - hangs up on you and never picks up again once he sees your number on Caller ID.The situation gets even more complicated for me because on Monday 10/26/2015 Im getting called for jury duty and have no ability to say when I will be home to provide the access.Naturally we are not going to pay Wentzels bill and will invite anoother A/C company who will be able to help us. Wentzels are kindly welcome to take their new motor back, and to return (or install back) our old motor. I would not want neither myself nor people I care about to go thru the hassles like this and get stuck with the temps at the house up to 84F for the 5 days since Thursday thru Monday. Ill make sure they all know about this experience with Wentzels Air

Wentzels is a professional organization and they keep their commitments. I had an A/C unit moved, they provided an estimate and stuck to it even when problems came up. They found leaks in the system and fixed them for no charge. I will use them again and would recommend them to anyone else in the area.

Wentzels has done work for us several times, including a complete system replacement for our in-laws. Prices are reasonable and they are very professional and thorough.

Rip offs they installed an air condition unit for me they gave me a price that we agreed on then after they was done they charged me thousands of dollars more liars and cheats and and they dont warranty their work do not do business with these people I beg you dont get ripped off like I did Im going to report them to the better business bureau
