What an absolute gem of a rental store! My husband and I had to stop here unexpectedly when some bikes we rented from our hotel started acting up while we were using them. Matt was incredibly friendly, helpful, and patient and got things tuned up for us in no time. He took the time to find the tool we needed and made sure we were set before we hit the trail. The crew here was so friendly and helpful that we’re hoping to come back and rent some paddle boards during our stay to give them some more business. Great little shop!
This was my first snowboarding trip and renting a snowboard. I was really nervous, but Cis was incredible! She is super friendly and very informative! Her vibes make you want her to be your friend 😄 She made me feel very welcomed and help give me helpful tips on choosing snowboarding gear and location ideas for future trips. The demo snowboard that she helped me pick out was perfect! So perfect in fact that I want to purchase the exact one. 100 out of 10 experience!
Im a serious skier who really appreciates expert ski tuning. The work done at ski tech is top notch, reasonable, and fast. In my opinion, no one else in town comes close to meeting these standards. These guys deserve your business!
This last summer, I needed desperately to have some work done on several pairs of skis, and I happened to wander into Ski Tech. The crew there is fantastic: friendly, super knowledgeable, and into their work. They fixed up my ancient and beloved Gotamas in ways that I did not think could be done. They have now mounted multiple pairs of bindings for me, sold me my daughters boots, rented me equipment for family without their own...and every time I am made to feel like a friend and a valued customer. It pays to establish a relationship with a shop you can trust, and Ski Tech makes it easy and compelling to trust them completely. I will never go to another shop if I can help it-- whether for maintenance, retail gear, or anything else they do. And I will continue to try and send as many people there as I can.
I would recommend Ces for advice and service to skiers from NM, CO, and UT—that is how great she was to my wife and me. From the jump, she was patient with my level of understanding, explained terms without jargon, and made me feel taken care of from the moment I walked in the door. Ces got my wife in this year’s demo, appropriate for her skill level, and bent some of her own rules to make our ski trip impactful for our purchase of skis this year. It was hands-down the best experience I have ever had at a rental or sports shop in my 25 years of skiing. I could not recommend Ski Tech enough to the next Santa Fe visitor.
Walked in and got a cold welcome. Carried no ski tuning products, or at least was told so by the staff. Never walked into a ski store that refused to sell you some basic ski tuning or waxing products. Got pretty basic replies when I asked about getting skis service, staff seemed disinterested, so I took my business elsewhere. REI had better service, which is a sad thing to say about a local shop
We had a great experience at Ski Tech store. I especially want to thank Matt for going above and beyond to help us get the right sizes of ski jackets and pants for the next day rental.
Tim was super helpful and awesome. He even was able to give me a few tips and tricks which helped improved my snowboarding when i went out.
Great rental experience! Much better than on mountain, gear and service was fantastic.
This shop is has the best tuners in town—Stoked on their work & fast turnaround...Thanks again, you guys rock!! 🤘🏽
Matt was very helpful and walked me through how he setup my bindings for my skis. Awesome that he took the time to teach me a little bit about what the pros do! This kind of customer interaction goes far beyond what money can buy!
Only ski shop in santa fe as far as Im concerned. Best tune in the FE!
No help at all, walked in said hello multiple times and never got a friendly response back. people there didn’t know what they were doing, very rude.
The staff are friendly and caring. Ski Tech is a wonderful snow sorts shop.
Staff is accommodating and people friendly, great with kids!
I used the website to reserve snowshoes and poles. I arrive and get immediate help from one of the employees. They were all smiles. Weve never snowshoed so confident, clear, ready answers to our questions... That was fantastic. Were renting gear to try out a potential new hobby.I feel like I can trust their insight and advice. I hear they are expanding their rentals to include camp and water sport gear. Were looking forward to renting with them again.
Great service on my board. Only $60.
Ive gotta say, Ski Tech may be converting me into a regular customer and away from Alpine Sports. While I have found both places to be perfectly competent in their tune-ups, Ski Tech has really come through this season in terms of their lead times in comparison. Alpine Sports always seems to require at least 1-2 weeks lead time for tune ups, and their shop customer service tends to be more brusque or lukewarm than what Ive recently experienced at ST. Ski Tech has twice come through this year (early to mid season) with fantastic and super quick turn around times right when I needed it! I have been so happy with their customer service. In November I needed a general tune and wax on my old skis, and Ski Tech did it in 2 days vs 2 weeks quoted at Alpine. In late December, despite being their busy season with rentals, Ski Tech accepted my new skis and told me they would try to get them mounted and ready within 3 days (which they fulfilled), even though they told me it would normally take a week and they dont usually accept shop work during peak rental season. So, I cant really say enough about their work ethic and service.
Best rental experience EVER! Personal, friendly and fast. Great equipment! We showed up just after closing and they took care of us graciously. Highly recommend!!!
The manager, Erika, was a huge help today us today and we are so grateful. If you want excellent customer service and knowledgeable and friendly staff, this is the best place to get both. Ski Tech will be our Santa Fe ski gear rental destination moving forward. Thanks again!
Great service pretty people what more could you want
GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Everyone was helpful, polite, informative, happy to be at work, and happy to see you! Even when they were super busy, I still got the personal attention I needed. I was not rushed, over sold, or uninformed. All of the staff members made me feel comfortable and confident with my rentals and purchases. I will always go back to Ski Tech.
Great service and staff! It was our first time Skiing in NM and the guys were extremely patient and informative with us. I thought I was a 7.5 boot, but after talking with them and trying the 7.5 on they brought over a slightly bigger size for me to try. They were correct with their suggestion, I am glad I followed their advice in going for a slightly bigger boot size! My SO did not have sunglasses/goggles and had asked the staff about it, I was impressed that rather than try to wiggle out a quick sale they recommended that since the weather was to be cloudy we would probably not need the extra eye protection. Thank you guys again for making my first ski trip awesome! Cant wait to do business with yall again.Tips: The store has very small and limited parking, so be prepared. We were lucky both times and were able to get a spot. Also, there are two doors to the building. The door closest to the parking lot is where you return your skis (clean/free of mud and snow) and the further door is where I would recommend you enter to get started!
Amazingly hospitable staffs. We went with nothing for ski and the lady helped us find everything needed with candid advice. The price was reasonable. Highly recommended!
Picked up a rental for my son today and had a great experience! The owner and staff were extremely knowledge, friendly and helpful in funding the right equipment. They have an excellent selection and staff to help you find the right stuff! I highly recommend this shop!
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Sarah (sp?) was very sweet and friendly to our girls... They quickly made a new friend. Skis were way above average in condition - freshly tuned, sharp edges, good wax, etc. They were also helpful in letting my wife try different lengths during our stay prior to her buying her own. Also, they are in town in a convenient location - picked up the skis the night before and saved the time that would have been spent the first morning up on the mountain. Parking is limited, but we had no trouble finding a spot.
Everybody here is so nice! The gear is great, and the people there are very enjoyable. I recommend smelling the duke cannon soap and reading the descriptions.
Very nice staff, go check it out.
Great customer service and products!
This place is great. Every time we come here the staff has been great. They really have a lot of kmowledge if not only gear but all the local ski areas. Being able to pick up your gear the day before really makes a difference. More time on the mountain.
Gear is good and prices are right.Website was out of date and cost us some time on the mountain.Edit: contacted by owner who seemed to care about my opinions quite a bit. We talked about things and he had already addressed a few issues I had. The employee was frustrated with a new system which bled over to our experience.I met the same employee today who was very personable and friendly and had a good suggestion about dinner. Changed from 2 star to 4.
What makes a place great is the people that you encounter. The owner Matt and his staff are very friendly people and stand by their word! I was very impressed with the level of professionalism! Ski Tech is the place to go! Thank you!
This place was awesome, quick & had great customer service! Made our trip even more enjoyable! Equipment was pretty new & well worth it!
These people are wonderful. Very helpful, fast and competitively priced. Highly recommend. The rental shop at the top of Santa Fe was horribly crowded both days we were there but we were already set up by Ski Tech so we beat everyone to the lifts by an hour true story!
Busted a snowboard boot lace on the first day of the trip. Called every shop in and town and the ski tech guys came in clutch. Only place that had replacement laces. Check em out!
Mmmmmmm
After visiting the other ski shops in the area, Ski Tech was the most friendly and helpful. Very knowledgeable and had everything we were looking for! Will use them for all future visits to Santa Fe.
Great place to rent skis at a reasonable price. Fantastic service with experienced help.
Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. Will definitely use this business again
I went to Ski Tech to have bindings mounted on my new skis. The guys were all really nice and courteous, the job was done quickly (only 1 day - REI quoted 4-5 days), and the price was fair. I took them out later that day, and everything performed well. Cant ask for more!
Ski Tech has fast and friendly service. And were helpful explaining the best equipment for our needs has first time skiers. No lines or hassle just in and out.
There gear is awesome! Im a snowboarder and I rented the demo package I liked the board so much i purchased it from them! Highly recommend this place to anyone!
Weve hired skis for the whole family a couple of times now, most recenty in Feb 2016. Great service here and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Ski Tech are very responsive and quick to sort out any issues and I thoroughly recommend them for your next visit to Santa Fe.
The best part about this locally owned ski shop is the customer service and the women specific boots and skis! Plus, you avoid the long lines up at the mountain! Highly recommended!
Very professional and helpful staff. Highly recommended.
Friendly service but lacking in rental sizes.
Honesty goes a long way and these gentlemen found an item we had left in one of the pockets and called me within 10 minutes of me turning in. Which gave me the opportunity to turn around before getting on the I25. Kudos!!!!!Keep up the great 👍🏽 job!
Great place very friendly and exceptional customer service!
I will start by saying that this review is of the ownership/management, rather than their services. However, sometimes, especially when we have other options, we choose a business based off of other presence, approach, and care for the community. Personally, I get a lot out of reading bad reviews, because they can be pretty revealing about general practices and aspects I might otherwise overlook. That being said, Ski Tech...and so very many businesses in Santa Fe... and the United States, do not have the benefit of ample parking. After 3 trips around the block and being 20 minutes late to a holiday staff party, I found 1 of several city parking spots in front of Ski Tech. I knew it was city parking because there were 2 clearly marked green signs with arrows pointing toward each other that said One-hour parking 7am - 7pm (it was 5:57pm at the moment). On the other side of the street there was a red sign marked as residential parking.Along with the street signs, I noticed a some guy staring at me through the passenger window, by the front door of Ski Tech. He even crouched down and placed his hand above his brow to get a closer look. I cautiously got out of the car, and he asked if I was going to the nearby restaurant. At this point, I figured hes potentially a dangerous dude or potentially a dude who is angry about the lack of available parking to serve his business. I said yes, and he immediately told me I needed to move the vehicle, stating that I was not in a city parking spot. I pointed out the signs, and he said, Youre not going to be in there for just an hour (remember its 5:57pm) and What you didnt notice were those signs, pointing to the red residential, permit only parking sign on the other side of the street, about 100/+ ft away. I asked if he was the owner/manager of Ski Tech, and he said, yes. I empathized about the frustrations of lack of parking, especially during the holidays, and he took out his phone and told me he was calling them to have the car ticketed and towed. He said, Ive seen them do it before. I wouldnt leave it there if I were you. I then stated that it sounds like his frustrations should be aired with the restaurant or city, rather than me. He said, I will go after anyone who parks here. I called non-emergency police to file a brief report and verify my parking, then attended the holiday party. When I got out of the event, I scanned the vehicle for damage and none was evident...other than a super, obnoxious and childish, WARNING sticker firmly applied on the car window. There was an X in the box next to Unauthorized Parking. All other identifying information like Date/Time/Issued By were left blank. This sticker was obviously fake, hence the obnoxious and childish description. I called the police again, to ensure that they didnt actually put the sticker on the window, and to say that I know its not anything they need to be worrying about, unless they receive multiple complaints. In the end, I say this to Ski Tech...please have an ounce of self-awareness when you have some public presence, and dont be aggressive and creepy with people. Also, we all know its December 18th, and theres no snow in Santa Fe, so check yourself for projecting your frustrations onto others because business is slow...its not because of parking. And, if it is indeed a parking issue, your location is the problem. Finally, you can harass folk and put as many stickers on peoples cars as you want (within the limits of the city parking spaces in front of your business, I assume...), but in the end, you are left with complaints about your etiquette and appropriateness. It has a much longer lasting effect on a business than an intentionally irritating sticker on a car window. I guess I should state that I have no proof that you are the sticker culprit, but I am sure you can see how it seems obvious.Good tidings to you, Ski Tech...
Horrible, unkind and unprofessional service! I FOUND A SCREWDRIVER IN THE SOLE OF MY SKI BOOT. That was pretty crazy - the kind people at Ski Santa Fe took it out for me. This, however, is not the cause for my extreme dissatisfaction. When I went into the shop to return my things, I asked for some sort of refund. One employee berated me for not fixing it myself, claiming that because I had a full day of skiing anyway they didnt think they were at all at fault. He assumed I hadnt tried fixing it and was rude and condescending. The matter was not resolved because the manager. with whom I later spoke, claimed the owner wouldnt allow a refund. Dont get your skis here, these folks dont care about their customers. Unless youre looking to get some free tools hidden in your gear.
Had my skis turned they did a nice job!
The owner Matt was great and really knew his stuff.
Super friendly service. The guys got everything sorted out in just a few minutes, great equipment, and sent me on my way.
This cozy little rental shop was easily overwhelmed the day we rented our skis and the evening we returned them. We caught them one of the busiest days of the year . . . I guess. They use a paper tracking system which causes additional delays on both ends. The rental took 45 minutes. There were literally no helmets left. We had to rent helmets on the Ski Santa Fe mountain. Our daughter had to use board boots one size too small because of the lack of equipment. For some reason the returns also took 45 minutes. An hour before they closed on the Tuesday we returned our equipment, the line was out the door, and moved VERY slowly. Their tiny return area was swamped with equipment. And the slow paper return method didnt help. Poor organization. Easily overwhelmed. Go to Alpine Sports instead.
Sara(no h) was a great help. Personable and knowledgeable.
Excellent staff
Nice skis
Rude and very unhelpful! Go to Cottams- better prices & much better customer service.
Great place
These guys were very friendly and knowledgeable. Id recommend them to anyone
We have a wonderful time their.
Please stay away form this business. The worst attitude and staff. Lazy, incompetent, and rude. There are other places i SF to get your skis repaired and can use this business. Do not go here. Read their other reviews. Impossible to say how horrible this place is - needs to go out of busniess.
Chip, the owner or manager was very helpful. It was my FIRST time skiing and when i brought my skiis back he said they were totaled and i would have to pay FULL PRICE for new ones. Chip ( ski TECH) let it go. it wasnt the normal procedure but the point is is that they were very helpful and nice. and undertanding. Get their early, it gets busy real fast. the place is awesome and im going back!!!!
Nice people, not very organized.
Very friendly and helpful staff. IB and Ricky were both very friendly and knowledgeable. Ricky got my fiancé all set up with a snowboard rental and a tuneup on my board. They had us in and out very quickly! Great place and great staff! Definetly reccomend!Update: just picked my board up and the tune looks great. Thanks again guys!!
Been coming here since 1987, great place
Rented paddle boards. Nice facility, great equipment, perfect instruction, and wonderful customer service.
Very friendly staff. I was in and out in about 15 mins. I would definitely recommend them for anyone looking to rent gear in northern NM.
Doing ones job doesnt seem to be a major priority here.
Decent rate but they completely messed up data for us and it delayed a lot.
I was hesitant to go here after reading some reviews here but we did and were helped out with the complete process of renting skis and poles for my daughter with no issues.
Terrible, slow service. I would avoid if possible.
Great quality gear.
Very expensive. They have better prices in the rental that is going up the hill
