John & Nina provided excellent service and were the only HVAC company out of the 8 I called in the San Jose area that were able to come same day to fix my AC unit after hours on a hot weekend. Most companies probably would have just swapped the capacitor and left. They were professional and went above and beyond the traditional AC repair. John performed a complete high tech analysis of my system and provided recommendations to improve my HVAC system at no extra cost. Great value and great service, highly recommend for anyone in SJ.

John has very good work ethic. He is very thorough, sincere and detail oriented. He replaced the control board and the capacitor to get blower motor working again. Service rate is very reasonable. Nina Was always very pleasant over the phone. I would not hesitate to call them in the future.

I called a few places that had good google and yelp reviews. However, this company was the only one that got to me within a few hrs. Other places did not pick up nor did they return the phone call within the same business day. As the services I received was not a 1 day job, it was very comforting that either John or Nina was accessible and responded to texts or phone calls within the hour.When they came for the consult, they were very honest. I have had people trying to sell certain monthly maintenance services. However, John was not like that. He explained what needed to be done and some of the maintenance practices that can help us avoid frequent services. Although the repair of our unit turned out to be longer than the promised time, as complications did arise, he still honored his fees and did not nickle and dime us. He and Nina came after their other jobs (after hours) to complete ours as quickly as possible, which I appreciated very much! Very hardworking.I very much recommend this company. During a heat wave my AC went out when we needed it the most, contacted several other companies that would not even answer their phone. Our AC stopped working a day before Labor Day during the heat wave and low air quality due to wildfires. John and Nina managed to come over on Labor Day night which I couldn’t believe as no contractor was available to work on the long weekend. Oh no, my wife and I were facing a cold night in the Bay Area, something we did before and do not want to experience ever again. Unfortunately, it was after 5pm on a Friday night and the weekend before the Thanksgiving Holidays. The A/C company that installed our system was not available, so I started to call all other 24 Hour companies. All I got was answer machines after 10? 20? tries, and those few that answered were not available within 24 hours. Johnathan answered on the second ring, and I was able to schedule my appointment that same night!When Johnathan and Nina arrived, they were kind, courteous, and professional. They both followed all protocols with masks and distancing in this state of Covid we are experiencing. I have a Bryant system and both Johnathan and Nina were familiar with my model and all the controls. Within 10 minutes of their arrival, Johnathan determined the problem was a blown fuse. Nina quickly reset all my original settings on my thermostat, and helped get my heat flowing again.What further impressed me with Johnathan and Nina was their confidence and knowledge about A/C systems and working with them in general. I have had my home since 2009 and have worked with two other professional companies for my HVAC system. Since 2009 I have had my home checked at least twice a year by these other companies. The other two companies did not point out that water leakage, or signs of water leakage, was an issue. After just a few minutes, Johnathan was able to spot that rust, or signs of previous water leakage as an issue. He said it could indicate a variety of problems and he recommended that they be addressed. Wow, after 12 years of twice-a-year maintenance checks and this was never pointed out to me. Johnathan caught this potential issue in a few minutes.Johnathan and Nina are a young couple, and I appreciate the passion and knowledge they have shown. It happened on very hot Saturday - my Air Conditioner stopped working. The majority of companies that do AC repair do not work on Saturdays/Sundays. The forecast showed several very hot subsequent days but the earliest appointment I could get was only on Tuesday. I kept searching - finally I was lucky to find Silicon Valley Comfort that works 24/7. I called them at 2 AM - surprise, somebody immediately picked up the phone. It was Johnathan, the company’s owner. (He seems to be working 24/7!) His schedule for Sunday was practically full but he found a couple of hours on Sunday very late evening. Moreover, he stopped by my house at 9 AM Sunday morning and brought portable AC (and connected it in my bedroom) to avoid my overheating until he comes in the evening. Miracles do happen - on Sunday late evening my AC started working again.Over the years my AC was repaired several times. Never before Johnathan fixed it, my AC worked so good. The temperature inside the whole house went down very fast. After all previous repairs it always took much longer time. I can feel really cool air coming out, not just slightly cooler than the temperature inside the house.One more thing to add - Johnathan and his wife, Nina, who assists him, are wonderful people. They are very friendly, and it is real pleasure to communicate with them. Great company, responsive and fully caring for their customers!

Our AC went down on a 102 degree weather day in my area and my grandmother, who was going to come home from the hospital the next day with heart problems, would not have been able to withstand the unbearable heat in our house. I called AC contractors EVERYWHERE, none of them had time to come out that day. I was ready to give up calling contractors, but then I found Silicon Valley Comforts webpage and they made time for me in the middle of the night. My AC went out at 4pm and after calling 7 other “24 hour HVAC” companies who told me they wouldn’t be able to get to me for a couple days, I called Jonathan and Nina at SVC.They came the same night and stayed until the morning hours to identify the problem and implement a fix. It required them to come back a few ours later due to the blower needing soaking for cleaning. They called me and provided updates as when they would be back. When they came back they completed the job quickly and with very fair pricing.Jonathan and Nina came to my house wearing masks and were respectful of our no shoes in the house rule(we have a baby).I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to get their AC fixed or repaired. During the middle of the night on one of the hottest days in the summer, our A/C started blowing warm air. This made it hard to sleep, especially for our one year old. We were lucky to find that Silicon Valley Comfort was actually open 24 hours, unlike other HVAC companies that stated they were 24 hours but only had an answering service . John came right out and was able to diagnose the problem and had the part stocked in his Van. He was very thorough and educated us on the importance of changing our filter more often. We will definitely use them again in the future.

Very pleased with their service. My previous contact with John and Nina was last year, when my A/C went out on (naturally) one of the hottest days of the year. I agreed to pay a higher price for an emergency visit, and they were outside working on my compressor at 11:00 pm, with flashlights, until it was fixed. This time around, I wanted to get my furnace cleaned. John quoted a reasonable price for light maintenance, but said if it looked really bad when he opened it up, I could decide if I wanted to go for the complete overhaul (much more expensive). They ended up being about an hour late, but texted me to let me know, and I knew they were just being extra-thorough on the job before mine, so I was OK with it. John checked the unit, said it didnt look too bad (he didnt try to gouge or upsell me!!), so he did the light maintenance. But whats even better is that he ALSO fixed a rattle that had been going on for several years. Others had tried and either failed, or hacked a temporary fix, or said thats the way these things are, but John stuffed himself inside until he tracked it down. Something about an inducer something-or-other. And the rattle is gone! These guys are meticulous about their work, gave me ideas for when I eventually replace my unit in the future, and were very nice to work with. Would definitely recommend and will use them again in the future.

We had a problem with our furnace. I didnt like the response of the company I had worked with before, and based on many positive reviews I called Silicon Valley Comfort. This was a smart move: I got excellent and prompt service and what really impressed me is the deep knowledge and expertise of John about HVAC systems. He pointed out to some issues with my current system and fixed them, most noticeably he pointed to me that my HVAC is 2-stage but was not connected to the thermostat to take advantage of this! He also gave me good tips on how to maintain the system. In summary, I highly recommend Silicon Valley Comfort!

Very friendly team who accommodated my schedule as much as possible. My unit was quite irregular, but they spent a lot of time exploring every possible issue before providing a recommendation during the consultation. Also, very reasonably priced, as far as HVAC technicians go.

I live in the bay area and usually like to call for local folks for my house repairs, garage door, water heater, and then this one, furnace.We called them as our furnace went out on the coldest night of the year. Nina picked the call and was honestly telling us our 15 years old furnace should not need major repair or replacement. Before the call, I already did some online research and saw some horror stories.They came next morning, quickly found the broken igniter and replaced it with a compatible but better type. John also did a thorough checkout to be sure the furnace in a good working condition.The price is reasonable to me, especially considering the cold day with all people calling for helps.Ill call them to bypass the PG&E controller on my AC as Im no longer in PG&E program. This one is long pending .... We had thought we had a clog in drain pipe as we had a leak from secondary pipe, and John was there to help in no time, he was exhausted from a busy day but did not think twice to come over and take a look to help out. He did mention and showed the builders had used a poor quality pipe and it had broken in a way that it required thinking out of the box to fix it as the other half was glued to the system, had it been anyone else, they would have taken advantage and called for a heavy repair, but John started thinking out of the box and came up with an innovative way to fix it... and also installed a water shut off switch (for no cost) .. amazing service and an amazing human. I have an AC unit on life support but it still works . John came over to see what he could do to extend its use. This is a follow-up effort whereby the first one had misunderstandings by both parties. Due to this John went out of his way to work on the AC at no charge. This was not expected, but John wished to make things right for a customer. I REALLY appreciate what he did for me. I am sure I will be in contact with SVC for further AC support in the future.

Remember weekend before last when it was in the 90s? Well our A/C quit on Sunday afternoon. I checked with Google and call several businesses. No one was open except Silicon Valley Comfort HVAC. They answered and came out Sunday night about 9:00pm and worked for two hours and fixed the HVAC!!! Excellent work and so very considerate. Call them first.

John and team installed an AC coil and condenser unit to an existing heating system.They took their time to assess the existing system and provided the best quote with various options for the installation, they provided a detailed quote based on the work that was required.We had a situation where the new AC unit had a coolant leak (when unboxing), John was genuinely concerned that a brand-new unit shouldnt be installed when there was a leak. He took the time to take the unit back to the supplier to swap it out for a new one.This showed honesty and customer care that most installers would not show, yes it took an extra day to install, but I had the peace of mind that the unit going in was not going to experience any issues once installed.The installation job was clean and made improvements to the existing heating system to allow both systems to work efficiently.I would recommend Silicon Valley Comfort for future work.

This review is different because John never set foot in our house and solved our problem. Speaks volumes about his passion and genuineness. Having talked to multiple HVAC specialists and many more who did not return our calls, John was available on our first call. He listened to the issue patiently, asked me the right questions and explained what may be going wrong. That led us into researching more and to take a peak ourselves if it was worth his time to come and fix it. In the process, we discovered the source of bad smell from the furnace (sparing the details here). Ultimately our problem was fixed but I still decided to leave a recommendation for his knowledge, eagerness to help, (he knew we didnt have heat) diagnose and fix the situation. Everyone else suggested replacing the unit instead of fixing a working unit. I did promise him I’ll call him first, if we ever needed HVAC services in future.

John and Nina are always think of customer side, they are proposed and suggest a way that the customer who can save money for the HVAC service/installation. They are not only specialty on regular HVAC system, but also expert on both US/Japanese Mini Split System. To be honest, there are not too many HVAC service company know how to install HVAC system especially Japanese version. I met John via an internet ad June 2018 and was a bit nervous due to the previous HVAC person pulling a no show.I could not be more happier than I am with John services. He repaired my A.C that was 15 years old and had never been serviced before. He added new hvac line and new filter system so the a.c unit can run less stressed and can lower the electric bill and it has!. The A.C has been running extremely nice. The electricity bill dropped average off $150-$220 a month depending on how much I use it.He then recommended a tune up for my heater unit. So glad he completed the tune up because I saw a $30-$40 dollar monthly drop in my gas bill since he tune it up amazing!John is extremely professional and knowledgeable I have recommended him to all my family and friends.Thanks again John!

Recently we had to replace HVAC system in our house. This is a very expensive project, I have invested a lot of time educating myself about basics and state of the art of HVAC systems, read a lot of articles on how to approach this project. One of the main learnings was that the most important thing is to pick a trustable certified contractor. When I started looking for one, I have quickly realized that I knew more about modern HVAC systems then the contractors I contacted, I could not trust such a project to those. Finally, I have contacted John and it became immediatelly obvious that he is a real enthusiast of HVAC systems, he was the right person for the job. When Nina and John started the work I was impressed with the level of their professionalism and attention to smallest details. These guys did not try to cut any corners, cared a lot about our long term health and were trying to make sure the system will be safe and efficient. John is also a very gifted craftsman, to increase efficiency of the system he created an extra duct to the second floor and constructed everything from raw materials himself. At the end we were very happy with the system, it was elegant and efficient. We have also become friends with Nina and John, they are really nice and honest people!

The service was fast, reasonably priced, and my A/C works again. I cant ask for anything more!

Please note, I do not write reviews...and I just had to write one for Silicon Valley Comfort. I called SVC on a Saturday night at around 9:15 PM and he was at my door by 10:30 PM. He stayed until 11:50 PM and had me back up and running by the time he left. And no, I did not mistake my AMs and PMs. SVC provides 24/7 service. He did not rush through any of the work and was extremely thorough - ensuring he checked every possibility so that he made sure the problem was fixed.My husband travels a lot so when something goes wrong, I am at a loss as I have two kids and trying to make service appointments is a nightmare (cause either we have to sit at home for hours waiting for someone to come or they are screaming and I cant even talk to the person). So having SVC provide a service in the evening when my kids were none the wiser was wonderful.Price wise...I thought for sure it was going to be expensive for not only a weekend call but an evening call, but he was so reasonable...I actually wanted to pay him more as I felt he did an amazing job and was charging hardly anything. Definitely would use SVC again and recommend SVC to anyone.
