I went to CODE salon for the first time today and booked with Danny and he was just amazing all around. I told him this in person and Danny if you’re reading this I stand by it, but this was the first time ever that I’ve been 1000% satisfied with my cut and the way my hair was styled. I told him what I wanted and he did that and more. The salon is super cute, very clean and well kept. Danny was the best, loved that he listened to what I wanted and his sense of humor made me feel so at home, he had me laughing the entire time.

Danny was just amazing. I can’t say enough good things. I have a lot of hair and he clearly understood how to cut it so it became manageable and beautiful. He made me look my best, plus he is so kind and funny. Definitely coming back ;)

But after doing a lot of research and also personally seeing my sisters hair done, I gave CODE Salon a chance to do my hair and I love it 100%! Courtney whom is truly a master at hair color did an amazing job! My balayage came out beautiful! Louise did an amazing job at cutting my hair and giving me a beautiful volume that I sooo needed! Got my brows shaped + tinted with Kelly H. yesterday-- the results are GORGEOUS! I was a little nervous about tinting but they look so natural and suit my face perfectly. Kelly is so sweet and was very gentle, it was way less painful than when I try to pluck my brows myself at home. Additionally, the salon is lovely and felt very COVID safe. Kelly also took all the necessary precautions to make sure we were safe. I will be back again--highly recommend!

FIrst, the vibe is great at CODE. It feels bustling yet calm at the same time, and everyone seems to really enjoy their work. My haircut with Leticia was great- she was very meticulous and gave my overgrown curls a total refresh. Asya did my brows + put me at ease since Ive never tinted them-- I was worried theyd be too dark or dramatic for a first-timer. I had the pleasure of working with Color Director, Natasha and studio stylist, Celina! I was going for a sandy/ sun-kissed color and playful face framing layers. Both stylist were very thorough during the consultation and service. I knew what was happening the whole time! They delivered my desired look perfectly and even helped to guide me for after care!

I booked Leticia, a master stylist, for a haircut.Cost was $160 + $5 environmental fee + $X tip.Overall, it was:- Great consultation process (recommended bangs based on my face shape, layers)- Gave me exactly the haircut I asked for- Eased my worries about my hair texture (fine hair, uneven texture)- Fantastic blowout, I felt like a million bucks for 2 days (until I washed my hair again)- It was the most expensive haircut I had ever gotten, but I def got what I paid for :)

Went in for a 15-min consultation required before booking my color appointment, and I get done with the 15-min appointment just for them to tell me that they dont have any openings for the entire month. I wish they would have told me that before having me come in and taking one hour out of my day just so they can let me know they cant color my hair? Confused.

Had my first experience at CODE Salon and it was great. Beautiful open clean space with lots of light and open windows made it comfortable and felt safer due to nice breezy air flow. They also took all safety precautions, masks, spacing people out, sanitizing everything. I saw Angelica and she is an an awesome colorist. I had some pretty uneven platinum blonde from a year of salons opening and closing and really needed a skilled colorist to even it all out and take the time to get me to a beautiful cool icy blonde.Angelica has the skills and is so sweet and nice and cool. She’s really pleasant to talk to and she really listens and I can tell she will have fun creative ideas when I get bored with platinum.I’m excited to find a great stylist at CODE for my next haircut. While still an investment, the level of service and the experience (from making the appointment to after care) has been at par with some of the worlds best, in a much more accessible way.Creativity runs rampant in CODEs beautiful SOMA salon, and I go there as much for my hair and reinventions as I do for the sanctuary and community. My last visit made me even more supportive of the women-run, LGBTQ and BIPOC friendly business — their COVID compliance systems are so good! They are super strict but it feels like top notch hospitality, instead of feeling restrictive.All my love and support to the entire CODE team. You guys are the spark of joy we need in these times!

I have been Code Salon customer for a while, last Friday, I decided to go for hair color to try the first time. When I get there color stylish after looking everything suggested to go for temporary hair color which will stay good for 4 weeks. Which did cost me $85 + 20% tip. From Friday till Tuesday only 5 days I noticed from my side hair are showing gray hair very visible. I called today to code Salon and try to explain, but they said its normal and I said 5 days? ReallyWhen you said 4 weeks I understand after 2 weeks will start fading the color, but for 5 days I will not pay $100 for hair color. Especially I was not expecting from Code Salon.At the end they said if you want we can set the another appointment for permanent hair color which can stay for 10 weeks? But you have to pay again around $100.Im not here looking for free service, but what we pay we are expecting honest service & decent results. Very disappointing. Here is the picture attached.

Im so glad that I found her and Ill be coming back to her.I had consultation about hair color and Angelica treated me so kindly and answered all of my questions in a very clear way; Ill have my hair colored by her in a couple of weeks, so Ill update.Finally, went with Kelly for eyebrows and shes really nice and talented as well. Amazing job with my eyebrows.Overall, so much talent in one same place, and great service. Every single person who works there treated me amazingly. For as long as Ive lived in SF, Ive been jumping around hair salons looking for someone that can properly handle my hair. Then I found CODE Salon! The hairdresser did an excellent job giving me layers that blends in very well together and adding texture to my flat hair. I also asked to keep the length and he did a great job making sure it was still the same.

I am a guy and notoriously have a difficult time with getting my hair cut. I prefer it a bit lived in around the sides and to keep it at a medium-short length. Whenever I go into a barbershop or salon, I request that they leave a little length around the ears, the flips, and every time, I get the same short haircut. Over the years, in a futile attempt to get the cut I had envisioned, I began changing what I request, bringing in pics and asking them to take less and less off each subsequent trip, and every time......same haircut. The last haircut I got I walked in and said, please dont cut it......walked out with the same haircut.High and tight around the ears and short. *Sigh...itll grow in*After having been scarred so many times, I obviously have reservations about getting my hair cut at all and rarely go. Add in COVID and the mess on top of my head by November was worthy of the s%^* show that is the year we are all currently enduring.My wife made the appointment for me because she needed a cut and color and couldnt look me in the face anymore, so we drove over an hour from Sebastopol down to SF.On the way down, my wife asked me what kind of haircut I wanted and I cynically said, what difference does it make...we know what Im getting.She coaxed me into pulling up some pics of hairstyles, and I found one of some model, who looks-wise I more resembled maybe the frog version of him before the princess kiss that magically transformed him into the guy who shows up on google searches for, medium length hairstyles. My wife and I agreed that the hair was at least close enough to be possible. Did I mention that at 41 years of age I have this nice triangle of receding hair that lives right where I part my hair? The long length combover to the side really couldnt do more to accentuate the sparsely populated patch on my head where the last few hair follicles are looking around saying, whered everybody go?The Salon itself is amazing. My wife and I are very conservative when it comes to Covid and we havent been out of our bubble much. We worry a lot and let me say that with the precautions that CODE took, we didnt worry AT ALL. Everyone was wearing masks the whole time and we were able to keep ours on for the entire appointments.My appointment was with Denise and I sheepishly showed her the pic and requested she do what she can to help hide my balding spot. To her credit, she didnt laugh at all as I had expected. Quite the opposite. She looked at the pic and actually really took it in. She then spent time looking at my hair, moving it around, discussing the shape, length, all the while getting more enthusiastic about the cut. Lets do something fun! Yea, we can do this. ....like she was getting hyped up for the challenge. I mention this because it was a unique experience for me. She listened to what I said and really seemed motivated to actualize it.....to make some magic happen, akin to a sculptor looking at a block of lumpy clay and getting excited about the potential there.Guess what. For the first time in my life, I was awarded a new hairstyle!!! She knocked it out of the park....made the impossible, possible.....and I am just thrilled. My wife said I looked 20 years younger and my teen daughter, who typically reminds me that I have a receding hairline everyday, (lest I forget) was gushing over how good I looked. My hair was such a freakin mess that I was pretty self-conscious about it, opting to smash it down behind my ears and wear a hat all of the time. I wasnt prepared for how much better I would feel walking out of there. Denise is a true artist and from what my wife says, she is one of a whole team of them at CODE, which is why we were traveling an hour there to begin with.I may not actually look like Google Search Hair Guy, but now I definitely feel like I do.....and I would be remiss not to mention that my wife also looks AMAZING! Great experience! Everyone is very friendly, cheerful and helpful. I booked with Cynthia and she was fabulous! Professional, personable and fun. She listened to my very vague ideas of what I wanted, asked questions, adjusted as requested - I left with a haircut I felt confident in! This rarely happens for me right out of the chair and I’m so greatful to have found such a good, down-to-earth listener who understood (somehow) just what I wanted. Super happy with the cut, would definitely recommend Cynthia and come again :)
