The W is one of the coolest hotels Ive ever stayed in. From the upbeat music in the elevator to the beautiful gym. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Unfortunately due to covid, the restaurant was closed so we werent able to try the food. Spotless rooms and amazing views.

My stay was amazing! The room was beautiful and well enough space. Housekeeping made sure the room was cleaned and I had enough towels and wash clothes. Friday night they have a mini club in the lobby. The only issue I had was the price of valet. But I guess if you stay in downtown San Francisco, you have no choice. Its best that you valet because the first night I street parked, and the car was broken into. Luckily, there was nothing in the car.

We stayed here last month for my boyfriends birthday. We had plans to go to the nearby brunch/day drinking/ bottomless mimosas at Pink Elephant for a friends bridal party that day so decided to book at the W. It is just on the other side of the parking lot, very convenient.Upon checking in, we were greeted with friendly staff that loved what they do. Everyone was accommodating and helpful. Caesar got us checked in. They allowed us to keep the birthday cupcakes I brought for my boyfriend in their refrigerator until our room was ready with no problems. We were able to request a mini refrigerator in our room and that was delivered to our room within minutes.Jose in the front helped with our bags and delivered them to our room in a timely manner. He was very friendly and kind. Chatted with him about his daughter also being a nurse and how many years he’s been doing the job. He has a good gig bc he also works for a parking agency and it helps him with parking in the city. Friendly man that loves what he does!Amazing hotel with sleek decor friendly accommodating staff and clean rooms deserves 5 stars. We enjoyed ourselves.

Conveniently located near many business and other activities in downtown. Rooms were up to standard, clean and modern. Can be a hit or miss as some of the other W’s I’ve stayed at because they were not remodeled but this location did not disappoint. Will stay again.

Positive: Everything about the hotel was great. The staff was great, rooms were nice and clean. Location was perfect. Negative: They charge $69+tax for parking per night.

My husband and I stayed at the W 08/31-09/02. Loved the decor and vibe. Yes, our room was a bit small but I didnt need any more size. The king bed and pillows were amazing and we appreciated that given our activity-packed days there. Our fridge also was a bit warm, but by the time we realized it, it was time to go. The staff was professional. No complaints there. Liked the location and loved looking out over SF from the 28th floor. And I actually liked the music piped throughout. I just talked a little louder when needed. 🙃 Would probably stay there again for a nice splurge.

It was wonderful staying in San Francisco again! The W San Francisco is a wonderful location for a quick getaway. Please dont expect everything to be open, but if you are looking for quality service and great overnight accommodations, the W SF is a great option. Santiago did a marvelous job greeting my fiance and I upon arrival. Our room dazzled with a remarkable view of the city and we are extremely appreciative of that. We look forward to traveling to the W San Francisco again soon!

Nice place, small rooms, safe, clean, a bit pricey. Restaurant is closed. No room service. Bar is nearly dead. 31 floors, but the elevator is quick. Piped music the same everywhere, elevators, halls, lobby, bar, etc. Annoying if you are trying to converse with someone else.

Very comfortable hotel. Better than W New York and W Seattle. Though nowhere as good as W Taipei which is the best W.

I guess this is my worst experience in SF. It started with valet who do not even know how to talk. They have crazy parking fees and keep you in fear that if you park at any garage somebody will break in. Secondly lobby is horrible, noise club music at 11pm in the lobby and elevators is too much for people who want to rest after long trip . I have asked bellman to get card since I have a lot of staff and did too want to anybody come in and take my clothes due to health reasons, he refused to give me that bellman cart .Only upside is rooms which were clean and renovated, and front desk staff friendly. Management really need to look for the ways to improve . Will not come back .

The hotel was very nice and the rooms were great. In walking distance to Union Square. Only downside was the staff were a little slow probably due to the pandemic.

Any hotel with an in room Nespresso is good in my book. Great location.

Positive: Comfortable bed Negative: Sure its Covid and theres a mask mandate, but this was not a good experience, and little disclosure when purchasing the rooms. The restaurant/bar is/was closed (news to us); lobby was dark & empty, the experience (hotel & neighborhood) was depressing.

The price also was so good. And especially their staff who valued their customer. All the wants they give it to you. They served great food as well. All in all, I give them a thumbs up! A five-star rating for this hotel. I will definitely visit this place again.

Very bad experience expensive 5 night i suppose have $50 for food and beverage for each day and restaurant was closed. When checking they said no problem we refun $250 because the restaurant is not on service. But in the time check out they dont get me nothing. I try to explain but the lady was so rude. I buy my own beverage and food but refrigerate in room no working ice machine no working on floor 19 so was very hard to my own beverage and foods in the room

We have a great stay, rooms was really clean and great customer service, it was a shame the bar and restaurants were closed. I love the gym it was clean. It also has a great view to this beautiful city.

Location is good next to SFMoMA and near Moscone Center. Lobby is chic and hip. The rooms are updated and very nice. Very comfortable bed. Large bathroom. Elevator service is fast. Check-in was pleasant. The front desk up-sold me on a $30 upgrade to get a killer view of the bay and Salesforce tower, which was nice but with many empty rooms, it shouldve been a free upgrade. I would have rated it 5-stars except the AC sucked! Room was always warm and stuffy. After reading other reviews saying the same thing about the AC, it must be an issue hotel-wide. It was unpleasant to come back to the room after walking in the cool, fresh SF air to a stuffy, hot room. This use to be my go-to hotel in SF but next time I will be trying a new hotel.

Hotel doesnt have any place to eat, not even a snack!. I know San Francisco is under a curfew until 10pm. But they should implement at least a cafeteria were you could seat and eat breakfast at least!!! There is no seating area whatsoever. We came from Vegas! ARIA hotel and they have room services. Do something about it.

It was an incredible experience that made San Francisco to be seen as the best city in the world. I’ll absolutely make sure to always book with W hotels whenever is available for me. My room had this amazing city view with an affordable price. The parking was included. The hotel is close to the Wharf, so we decided to take our bikes to enjoy the weather. We checked out and left our car in the hotel’s parking lot after asking them, and they had no problem at all. All of that for free

We had a great stay at W San Francisco. The rooms are decorated amazing and it’s definitely worth the price to upgrade to a city view room. Views from the room were amazing!

Everything was great until you hear your neighbors and the loud music on the first floor.

I feel like they missed out on a star by asking if we want to upgrade for $30 instead of just giving it to us. Its an empty hotel during a pandemic, might as well make whatever customers you have very happy

To ensure the safety of its visitors, the hotel has taken all necessary measures. They even cleaned the place every day. It was an enthralling venue.

Valet Staff directed us to park in parking garage not operated by hotel without disclosing this information or hours.Caused a member of our team to spend extra day of hotel, rental car and flight changes as we couldn’t get our car out for early morning flight.Interior of rooms were old and worn and semi clean. Their were stains and old dirt in corners and bottom of bins. Cabinet doors slumped.Hotel staff promised points to make up for such bad experiences which have yet to be seen on Marriott accounts to 3 of us.Do not recommend this place!

My wife and I came here on a mini honeymoon and had a great experience! The room rates were great probably due to COVID. The hotel was very clean and had hand sanitizers inside and outside of the elevators. The room felt very clean which was our main concern right now. Unfortunately the restaurant and bar was closed because of COVID but there’s a decent amount of food options nearby. If you plan on parking, I recommend booking the parking package online when you book the room to save a little bit.Everyone at this hotel from the valet guys to the front desk was incredible! We opted for no housekeeping to keep it safe but every time we called the front desk to change out our garbage and bring more espresso, they were on top of it! Espy at the front desk was beyond nice! She definitely made our experience great! She would even call the room to make sure that they brought extra towels or espresso for us. Thank you to everyone at the W! We’ll definitely be back whenever we’re in SF!

The staff was very attentive and the rooms were spacious and clean. Also, clear views of the Salesforce Tower on the higher floors. Looking forward to my return in the near future.

Checked into a room with a broken toilet and after waiting an hour while they tried to fix it we were given a less nice room without remorse. It was a bummer of an experience.

They dont have handsoap at this hotel.... beds are extremely small, no staff on hand, skip this place all hype, AND YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR WIFI????? What type of scam show place is this.

We had a great experience with this hotel recently. The rooms are elegant and very clean. The foods taste good and the service was exceptional! We had a great time staying here! We will visit this hotel next time.

I visited the W hotel one night for drinks with a friend of mine. After the first few sips, I realized something was not right! I have no food allergies other than chocolate, my throat began to feel as if it was closing and sent me into a coughing spell which lasted about 10-15 minutes. My friend also began to cough and told me she felt like she was choking! The bartender at the W put something in our drinks that sent us into a coughing spell. As if this wasn’t malicious enough we were then asked to leave by the staff after I ordered a expensive a** bread pudding. This experience has completely ruined my perception of the W. I went in with the expectation of a high quality dinning experience and received the exact opposite! I strongly believe the bartender at the W in San Francisco attempted to cause harm or POISON my friend and I. Please beware.

Was a great place and location

The hotel was ok. We only stayed one night but the AC does not go lower then 65.Free Parking is not provided. You can valet park for $74 dollars which provides security and is probably your best choice due to the high brake in inccidents. We didnt know this beforehand and opted to park at the museum next door to save money and pay $35 Found out the hard way. Dont make the same mistake.

Amazing view from the 29th floor!

I have been to San Francisco countless times and have stayed at luxury hotels that did not offer the level of customer service that I received at the W. It made my girlfriends first visit to San Francisco extremely memorable.From check in to check out, parking to eating, everything was exceptional. The location is perfect. Not crowded with tourists (like me) and the perfect atmosphere for meeting friends and new friends downstairs in the lobby bar area. The W is an easy walk to the convention center, Union Square, Embarcadero, restaurants, and the highway. I would highly recommend staying at the W San Francisco.

Beautiful room, friendly people, enjoyed my stay. Look forward to staying at this hotel after Covid restrictions are lifted.

Strick health/security regulations

My siblings and I met in SF for one night because my little brother was recently dumped by his girlfriend of 6 years. Before our stay I received an email from Vanessa asking if there was anything I needed prior to my arrival. I requested two things, early check if possible and a list of things we could do in one night considering my little sister was a minor. She promptly responded saying she would do her best to make sure our room was available when we got there and she sent a list of things near by we could do in one day! During check-in we were greeted by Arleigh! She was exceptional and quick. She asked why we were there and we told her. She later sent a bottle of bubbly to our room which really made my little brothers day. Good job W, not only was the service amazing, but the property was sexy, fun and we had an amazing view in our room. We would book again for sure! Good Job!

Hotel staff were very attentive even during pandemic and got us everything we needed. During the pandemic not all amenities were open but the rooms were still spot on and my stay was super comfy

This hotel met all expectations. Beautiful property but rooms are very clean and comfortable! Great layout and design. Loved having Nespresso in the room. Felt like I was at home! Service was great. Everyone was very nice. I am very picky about beds and pillows but had no issues. So comfortable!! Loved my stay.

My family and I had a lovely weekend in San Francisco, greatly enhanced by our stay at the W. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with excellent amenities and great views. We enjoyed breakfast at Trace and drinks in the living room bar. service was universally efficient, friendly and courteous. We love the ambience of this hotel and will be back when next we travel to SFO

Would recommend staying here if youre looking for a hotel to spend the weekend or longer with your significant other. The hotel was very trendy and modern. This hotel is sexy, sleek, and fun. Would recommend if you plan on traveling to San Fran. We stayed here for my birthday and enjoyed the modern spacious room, beautiful bathroom, and complimentary treats the hotel offered. If you like to have a good time, relax, and enjoy then stay at the W San Francisco. For mature adults the hotel also offered a small box in the top drawer near the snacks that provided some items for you and your significant other to use. Have fun!

I was there for three nights attending the National Association of REALTORS® conference and trade expo at the Moscone Center. I had no idea how CLOSE the hotel was! That was a win! I love the cool vibe of W properties and was very happy with my stay in San Francisco. The check-in experience was stellar. George was a rock star. The complimentary upgrade to the 30th floor was so thoughtful--wouldve been phenomenal, except George couldnt control the fog blocking our view of the bay :) The W San Francisco will be my #1 choice the next time our association meets at the Moscone!

Every time I come here they make our experience incredible. My wife walked in our up graded room the Fantastic Suite and said WoW. I said amd thats why the hotel is called the W the wow factor and you get Whatever you Want Whenever you ask. Thank you for never letting us down. Your staff is incredible. We will keep coming back. Great service, always willing to make your stay as relaxing as possible.

In a rather Dystopian COVID-19 environment, we valet parked with and were checked in by the same person. COVID-19 protocols were strictly in place with a lot of hand sanitization stations everywhere. The hotel did not offer room service and the restaurants were closed, but they did offer breakfast to-go options that were quite good. The corner king room was comfortable and clean with good views of the deserted city around the Moscone Center. The bed was very comfortable. Ice machine was off, parking was expensive and it took 20 minutes to get our car.

Very nice hotel and bar. Much like every other W. A bit too corporate fancy for my liking. Would rather hang out in one of the many San Francisco unique funky places.

The second you walk-in, the lobby is dark and has a very clubby like feel to it. Not to mention the loud music playing and made it difficult to hear the staff while checking in. The room was spectacular with the bathroom as the icing on the cake. The room is very modern, bright and comfortable to stay. The location is walking distance to basic and high-end shopping. Options for bars and restaurants are a plenty. I averaged around $25-30(premium fee) Uber ride anywhere around San Francisco.

I was a guest at the W on 3rd in San Fran for two nights this week. The hotel was lovely, and room was great. But I cannot say thank you enough to Brian and Clay at the bar. I am on a doctor prescribed elimination diet which means I am unable to eat most things and that makes all travel very difficult. Brian, Clay, and the kitchen team offered to make me something that would fit my diet. They went above and beyond to accommodate my issues and to make me something i could eat other than oatmeal. This was such a welcome surprise. They made an incredible meal that fit my needs. I am profoundly thankful, and will absolutely stay at this hotel again. Thank you Brian, Clay, and the entire staff!

The staff was so helpful and friendly. Perfect location thats very central to so many things in San Francisco. We stayed in one of their renovated king rooms and it was just lovely. We were on a quiet floor. Really...no complaints at all and wed definitely stay at the W again if we get back to San Francisco.

I visited for a work sponsored event on the fourth floor Social Terrace. The service was excellent, catering delicious (dont sleep on the beef tenderloin or tuna skewers), and solid open bar. Well played, W, well played.

Had a nice experience staying here for 2 nights this week. Check in was seamless, got served a glass of their homemade sangria which was a nice touch. Check out was quick too which I always appreciate. Didn’t get a room with an impressive view, but then again, it’s not New York so not sure how much better it could’ve gotten if I were put on a higher floor. I totally recommend staying here.

I enjoyed the property but have an issue with honor bar charges. Requests into accounting have gone unanswered. As a frequent guest of Marriott I have my own ambassador and have to have their involvement. Its been nearly a month of no hotel responses. Will not be returning.

Nice, very modern and hip. Great staff. One negative, theres only 1 drawer in the room to store your clothes and the shelf in the closet is too high to reach. Cant really unpack.

The staff did an outstanding job surprising us with a gift for our 30th anniversary. Upon check in we were also directed to a room that already had occupants, the front desk and manager rectified the issue immediately and compensated us for the trouble. Customer service is 100% what I would expect of a hotel of this level. Kudos to the staff. I proposed to my wife at this same hotel back in 2003 and figured it was fitting we celebrate our 30th anniversary (dating since we were 15 and 14yo at the time). This is our valentines so the staff made it extremely special and the hotel and stay were perfect. Thank you. Parking fees a tad high even for SF

As soon as I walked in I was greeted very kindly by the hotel front desk staff. I was then offered help to take my bags to my room, free of charge! He was so nice and showed me where everything was in my bedroom. Although somewhat small, I didnt mind the room size at all. The bar downstairs was amazing! The bartender made amazing drinks and I was able to meet some friends and listen to the DJ :) Definitely recommend 10/10!

A terrific experience- Lorenzo who checked me in was super helpful, patient, and friendly. The rooms were sleek and the toiletries were top notch. Everyone was friendly and ambiance was very chic. The gym and restaurant were also great.

Love the W in San Francisco. Spent my 40th birthday with my wife at the hotel and they were amazing! From Vanessa the W Insider to everyone that we interacted with the service was above and beyond. Gave us a great room with a view, credit for the bar/restaurant and a personal gift to the room with a nice note. Made my birthday very special. Can’t wait to come back.

A very nice and modern hotel. The wow corner room are spacious and the bathroom is amazing. Staff was friendly.Only downside is the lack of drawers(only one) and depending on your floor and corner do not expect a super view of the city.

Pros: great location, great staff, comfortable room with a great view from the 30th floor, great atmosphere and ambiance. Cons: Food options were too pricey. Room service for a pizza and a mac and cheese with a Corona beer and an inexpensive glass of rosé cost $84 including service and some mandatory tip (I paid $100 in total). The internet TV was great but an attached chromecast didn’t work and staff said it was part of a planned hotel refurbishment so couldn’t be connected, which seemed a bit implausible. Also the bathroom door was a sliding one with zero soundproofing which was a bit underwhelming.

Nicely renovated rooms make like SoMa hotel a great spot for exploring the city. Kudos for excellent in-room coffee and well-appointed bathroom, plus great WiFi and in room A/V. Its typical of the W brand, sometimes trying to be a bit too trendy for its own good, with a loud bar scene in the lobby every evening. The hotel restaurant serves a decent breakfast, though there are much better options nearby for dinner. Functional and convenient with friendly staff, nothing exceptional but a solid mid-range choice for San Francisco.

This was my 2nd stay at W. During both stays the staff were outstanding and provided very professional and friendly service. The rooms were exceptionally clean and included free water and a generous Nespresso set up, if you want a quick shot of espresso before leaving your room. The location is fabulous if you want to be within short walking distance of SFs main attractions but not in the tourist chaos. Really love this place because it has the best staff and services all around!

Gorgeous hotel with stunning newly renovated rooms. I just got to see them tonight at the reopening party and they certainly do look great. The Ws location cannot be beat, right next to the convention center in the heart of SF. Staff was super friendly, warm and just cool folks. W hotels are always quirky and cool, and W SF is a great example of both.

Everything went fine, excellent service but when I checked my charges later on I notice there is a $70.00 parking charge when I told valet I was parking for one hour to just unload my stuff, after done I paid cash. The charge per hour is $15.00, I tipped him $10. So I guess valet kept a $25.00 tip and hotel charged me $70.00 for a 45 minute parking. I called the Hotel and was provided a site to correct the mistake, it has been over a week and no response, charge still in credit card.Am a Bonvoy member, I have their credit card which is my main one, looks like its time to find another membership.

My favorite W of all time. Amazing food, service, and overall a great experience. Perfect place to stay if you are going to to any convention or conference in San Francisco. It’s right across the street from the moscone center!

Great Hotel, Awesome Front Desk, Bar Staff, Bell Staff, and Rooms. Very Chic and Stylish. Just dont use the SNOBBY Consignor Desk as it will leave you feeling like you do not belong; they were not very helpful with giving any insights and/or ideas on what the city had to offer. Very short and snobby with ALL communications. Left my first time Nieces and Nephew felling out of place, NOT GOOD!

I use hotel rooms for work, including sitting at a desk and using my laptop. The room had an elevated desk and an uncomfortable chair.... terrible for working. Also, I like to unpack my things. This room had a total of one drawer available. The nightstands were small, cheesy plastic pedestals with no storage. The whole room feels like it is designed to make cleaning easier.I would not stay here again for work or pleasure.

Has both class and character. Very friendly staff and beautiful rooms. Enjoyed my 2 night stay very much.
