I recently moved to the East Bay and one of the only things I miss about SF is sunset gym. The people there are so friendly, and theres all the equipment you need for strength training at a super reasonable monthly rate.

Great gym, would recommend to anyone in the area.

Stopped in for a workout today, moved to the Peninsula. Was a member there for 20 years, great staff, great equipment and great people.

Lots of variety of machines, fun classes, and they have a steam room and sauna.

I really like this gym compared to the other gyms I have been to because their service is so outstanding! I am so satisfied with how they deal with their clients and monitors your progress every two weeks! I highly recommend this gym!

I love this place. Its the perfect place to get a good workout in. The staff are super friendly, the place is clean, the other members are great and I probably have like 15 husbands that dont know were married walking around the place. Best gym Ive ever joined.

Amazing staff. Very helpful and informative. Always clean. Plenty of space for lifting free weights. Great daycare for the kids. My kids love going makes the trip so much better. Out of all the gyms I have been to hands down my favorite. The vibe is great. Comfortable energy.

This is the best gym in the city. For the weightlifters, they have plenty of free weights, squat racks, and olympic bars. Everything is utilitarian, which I love. Everyone on the staff is kind and friendly. The price is also super reasonable.

If you live nearby and need a gym this might be good. Value for money is great, 5 stars for a two star gym. I paid for 6 weeks and didn’t return after two visits.

Great gym I ever visited. Staffs were friendly and knowledgeable. Equipment were in good condition. Their bathroom was clean and they have clean towels too.

Ive been working out here for 1 hour now and all I can say is Im sad I didnt sign up for this gym years before. For rates far more reasonable than all the other gyms (and no signup fee), you get 2 floors full of the best quality and variety of equipment you could ever ask for. The place looks and feels a lot bigger once youre actually in it and walking around, and everybody here is welcoming and friendly. The ground floor offers 7 racks to use and all kinds of great specialty barbells for different exercises, and theres plenty of equipment for all fitness goals.

This place is great! Very inexpensive and very friendly! They also have tanning and water massage. The hours arent convenient for some but great for what you pay!

Great gym.Looks like a standard small neighborhood gym, but it has so much good equipment.If you are into any serious weight training this place has what you need. Tons of rogue equipment, racks, bars etc. Lots of great impliments you wont find in regular spots. SSB bars, sleds, football bars, Kabuki bars, Rogue wagon wheels, loadable log press, and perhaps most important - no hex plates.Only downside is that its very small and tight. But totally worth it for the access to amazing equipment.If you want smoothies and Foo foo stuff, go to equinox. If youre into training hard come here.

Thought Id already left a review... Customer service here was outstanding and the place was clean. Theres no locker room and no where to lock your stuff, but they have restrooms with showers and free towel service. I did the day membership after a work conference. Very glad these guys are there and will return if back in town.

Where I go to burn off the calories from all those great meals. Sunset Gym has all the equipment you need for a complete workout and the service is excellent too.

I have been working put for over 40 years; yes, that makes me old! But it also makes me a good judge on gyms. I have worked out in the chrome palaces and juice gyms on both coasts and in between. This place is in my Top 3, been here for 17 years and not going anywhere else. Great staff and members, not a lot of frills but the weights weigh the same here as anywhere else.

Ive been to Sunset Gym twice with 2 different instructors and for the most part, I really love their workouts! They play great music and you never get bored of what youre doing.

Ive been a member for years and I love this place! Highly recommend it, the equipment is in good condition and the place is kept very clean. The owner and people who staff this gym are wonderful and they are very conscious of the neighborhood they live in. Also the prices are very reasonable- I wouldnt go anywhere else. :)

Nice neighborhood gym. Its a compact space but usually always can find a treadmill or the machines you need. They have a downstairs space with equipment and treadmills, upstairs with floor space, boxing, and more cardio machines. Staff is always friendly and gym us clean.

Great, local community gym where you go to get your needed work out. Locality is key You actually get to the gym in your busy day! Friendly staff that know you by name. Hours are great, although, I do wish it were open later than 8 on weekends, especially with new daylight hours. Some of the aerobic equipment could be updated. They offer small discount for students. Still too expensive for both my husband and I to afford together. Overall, I highly recommend the place.

A great place to lift or get your cardio on. Its not you oversized warehouse gym like globo gym but a smaller more efficient hole on the wall with all of the right equipment.Its rarely ever crowded and the members are always willing to share the equipment.Memberships are very affordable!

Super friendly staff and they let people in before theyre officially open. Plus they always have clothes for homeless people which is a bonus in my book

Well equipped small community gym. Has everything you might need: multiple squat racks with oly and metal plates, lots of strength machines and cardio machines. Even a heavy bag and speed bag in the mobility and cardio room upstairs. Basically a 24h with personality and soul.

Cool gym, very cheap, Cool staff, it has everything you need. I just miss the usual shower and sauna but I guess you get what you pay for.... I highly recommend!
