Very knowledgeable and friendly! They will tell you the most updated information and routes. For example ferries from Sausalito has been suspended but google maps still shows them in operation… and bike rider can go through the golden gate bridge through the east side while google maps telling you wrong information on the west side…
The bikes were great on the trip to saulsilito, but the best thing about this shop were the people who worked their. Chris and Stacy were extremely helpful and were awesome to talk to. My friend even got to name a bike! If you’re thinking of anywhere else to rent a bike, forget them and come here. You won’t regret it!
All I can say is if youre looking to rent bikes to tour San Francisco, make sure you call San Francisco Bicycle Rentals. They made it easy. The bikes were great. The directions and access to good advice was easy. Bikes, bags, locks, fitting, even sightseeing recommendations were outstanding. Chris made the entire experience a breeze whether she was simply available by text/phone ahead of time or picking up a wrench to adjust the seat for my son. A tourist business, to be sure, but they never treated us like tourists. Not once.
The staff that I encountered both in the morning and at return was super friendly, and the bicycle they gave me was in great shape. I biked 30 miles all around San Francisco and everything went smoothly. Also, I reserved my bicycle online and they gave me 20% off of the regular price. I highly recommend this bicycle rental business!
🙂 family over to San Francisco and had a good time down. Pier 39 the people cars are all planning to go to had a great day over there what the family do I have to go out with your family are supposed to go do it I want a blue angels
The trip was amazing, there are lots more bicycle rentals very close to this one, and I suggest checking them out too.The bikes as you can see from the pictures are not the best and the tires are very worn. The first bikes they gave my had their chain slipping on hills and I had to go back to replace them. Also other companies provide a map that is mounted in front of you on the handle bars, which I think is very good, here I had to stop every time to see where I was and where I was going...They do offer a place to return the bikes at Sausalito, though it is kinda hard to find that place, it still this is good to avoid having to carry the bikes in the return ferry.
An awesome way to explore the city!Even better people to help you do it!I am glad Boban convinced us to do the bike tour all the way to Sausalito.Yejee was very helpful, she patiently and throughly explained everything we can see on our ride and marked it on the map for us. Make sure you book the ferry online so you dont wait too long in line (we didnt wait thanks to her).Maintained bikes to get you thru the citys hills. Helmets, locks and bike mounted storage bag included. Make sure you use the lock provided...
We had a mixed experience with this company. We rent two bicycles to go to Saucelito yesterday On the way, one of the tires exploded. We called them and they told us to ask for a taxi with a bicycle rack. We are not from USA and our English is not perfect but we know it. They gave us the number of a taxi driver, who seemed not to know the area and spoke very badly because he was a foreigner. It was very difficult communication. The big problem is that the driver, he first told us that it would be 24 dollars to tow us, but then in the end of the trip he raised us to 40 dollars!! . This was offered by the owners of the bikes they will pay it, thats ok for us. However, it was a bad time because the taxi driver took advantage of the fact that we are tourists and delays a lot to find us. In the company they behaved well and advised us. But I think in these cases companies should look for ways to address the situation differently. Maybe coming directly to the scene and give help, repair or replace the bike. Another factor is that the tires on the bicycles were a little worn out ... And that could help them strike out easier. At the end our trip was halved, we could not meet Saucelito and not eat as we wish, cause we have to return soon on the last ferry. We thank the lady of the bike rent for her good attention. It was the best point of our experience. But it was not the way we wish. :( Give 3 stars for the client service of the girl of the front desk (dont know her name).
Super helpful and knowledgeable staff. They asked where I wanted to go, showed me some options on the map, quick overview of the bike (seat adjustment, gears, etc), got a helmet, lock and map and was off. Excellent bike in really good condition...no prob climbing hills. Got me through my trip to Sausalito and back. Pick up and drop off was seamless. Totally recommend.
Bikes were reasonably priced. We did have an issue with the chain whilst cycling around the city. Assistance was easy to arrange and we were back on our way in no time!
The staff was very nice and the bikes in decent shape. However, what made my seventh trip of biking the bridge with friends and family only worth three stars was the attitude of the locals. Apparently on the bridge, you cannot go more than 10 mph because youd then be a danger to others. However, locals riding obvious non-rental bikes seemed to ride much faster. And once in Sausalito, you are subject to the bicycle enforcement officers of the city. To park a bike is $3. You are ushered to that location and told where you can and cannot ride on the street. If you park on the sidewalk next to a metal pole, an officer will come into a coffee shop and tell you to move your bike. But to complete your journey, the ferry is needed. Careful though, they will yell at you if you walk the bike on your left side instead of the right side, since the left side can only fit three instead of four people down the gangway. Overall, I recommend renting from this company. However, if you bike across the bridge, dont bother to take the ferry. Just go back to SF by bike.
Rented bikes for myself and two adult children to ride across the Golden Gate Bridge into Sausalito. First time visiting San Francisco and WE HAD SO MUCH FUN! We reserved the bikes online and got a nice discount. We received great instructions and a map before our ride. Bikes were in great condition. We had lunch in Sausalito and caught the ferry with our bikes back to San Francisco.
I chose this shop based on its great rating from google reviews. Great customer service, I was given excellent directions from the man who took care of me, and the prices are also excellent. I took the bike over the bridge and to Sausalito then took the ferry back. Thanks to their directions, it was easy to find my way the entire time without getting mixed up. Pickup and drop off was very quick. Thanks for a nice experience! I highly recommend this shop.
We had an amazing experience biking over the bridge! Excellent service! Good bikes and super helpful and friendly staff! This made our day! Thank you!!
TL:DR They knew their stuff, are in a great location, were friendly, and rented me a nice bike at a good price. Up the street from In N Out Burger for a post ride snack. Quick ride to and from the Golden Gate Bridge.I rented a road bike from them. Very reasonable price for a high quality bike. They offered me a map, a lock, and a helmet. I only took the helmet since I knew where I was going and wasnt planning on getting off the bike. They had recommendations for making the ride better and were really friendly. The staff was knowledgable about local bike laws and bike culture around the Bay Area. The seemed genuinely bummed (for lack of a better term) that I didnt have more time in the Bay Area because they had a few routes that they liked that they wanted me to check out. They also have insurance for the bikes for an extra couple of bucks. This is a big concern for people like me who are wondering What happens if I crash this rental bike?Maybe the level of service I experienced had something to do with the fact that I was waiting for them when they opened the doors at 9am as it was noon back home. Or maybe they were just a really good bike rental shop!
Very kind people and bikes are very good and safe. You can follow their own paths or other routes! A great way to visit San Francisco
Very nice team who will explain you the best way to enjoy your trip. We purchased online in the morning (54$ per two) and took our bike for the day (Fisherman Wharf closing at 7.45 pm). We made the road to Sausalito and could stop on several awesome places, bicycles are basic but not heavy so its easy to driving them also in sloping road.
Great service, very friendly and helpful staff, easy to find, super fast to get and return the bikes.Upon arrival they provided us with a map of bike routes on both sides of the bridge, explained which ones were harder or easier. Gave us helmets and a lock included in the bike rental price. On our way back we were a few minutes late for the shop closing, but they still took us in.Lots of thanks! Definitely recommend.
Pretty good and reliable bikes.I took for for my family and we made the tour via the Golden Gate to Sausalito and then the ferry back to SF. The view from the bridge is quite nice. Even for untrained people it is manageable to do the ride. Not too hard but you might feel your muscles later the day.The ferry boat and the staff is quite a show. lisen to the guys who are organizing all the bikes on board and calming down the waiting people.Remember to get you chip to be booked to one of the next ships otherwise you might wait for 1 or two extra hours.
Very fair prices, quality (Specialized) bikes in good condition, and friendly staff. What more could you ask for in a bike rental? 5 star; recommended
Had an amazing experience in San Fran! The guys down at San Francisco’s Bike Rentals were super helpful and gave us some amazing places to go see. I would recommend them for anybody that is planning on going to visit the Bay Area for sure. I have traveled a lot and this biking in San Fran was probably one of my favorite things that I’ve ever done!!The bikes were really high quality and we had no problems at all!
The staff was very friendly, helpful and fast. The bicycles were very good, just one of the 2 we rented had a small problem with the chain. It went out once, but after fixing it it was good to go. We returned the bicycles in another shop if the same company, so we paid an extra of around 6 dollars per bicycle.
We were there over the summer and had a wonderful experience. The owner was there and adjusted all of our bikes. Super friendly and knowledgeable. They had the best deal and Im happy we chose them over their competitors.
My husband and I rented a tandem bike for a day from this location and had such a wonderful experience! The gentleman who rented us the bike was friendly and knowledgeable about the city. We reserved our bike online and brought in our reservation paper and received a $6 discount. The rental included the bike, helmets, a little bag on the back of the bike for personal belongings, and a bike lock. We biked from this location to and across the Golden Gate Bridge and back around Fishermans Wharf and Pier 39. Its about 4 miles one way to the Golden Gate Bridge but on a tandem bike you have two people pedaling which makes the distance much more doable especially for the legs. :) There are designated bike lanes/paths when traveling to the bridge which made it feel very safe to me. The views from the bridge and of the bridge itself are amazing so if this is something youve considered, DO IT! You will not regret it!
I highly recommend this rental shop to anyone. All of their staff were extremely courteous and helpful, their prices are right and I had no issues with the road bike I rented. I was able to fully explore all of San Francisco for the one day I was there due to their late hours. I was worried getting back to the shop a minute before closing, but they hold true to their advertised hours and had an employee inside who was less interested in closing up and leaving and more interested in how the day and ride went. All in all, great shop!
Excellent customer service! We rented two bikes for the whole day. Price included two helmets free of charge.
Booked my bike the night before, it was ready to go when I showed up, and within minutes I was beeboppin around town. I rented the Performance Hybrid and rode from the Fishermans Wharf location up to the Nike Missile Control Site SF-87 at Hawk Hill. The bike performed beautifully. Would rent a bike from here again.
Rented some bikes from San Francisco bicycle rentals and this location was new. Really good renter and there were no problems with pickup or drop-off!The bikes were in good condition and the price was OK (book online to get a lower price)The location is good if youre gonna bike to Sausalito (over golden gate Bridge). The ferry going from Sausalito stops at the ferry building!
The staff are always so friendly and positive. Location is convenient and the prices are fair too. With so many bike rentals to choose from, this is the one I return to whenever my friends and family are in town for the weekend!
Unable to cancel - ghostedUnscrupulous. Despite contacting them over two months ago, I’ve received no replies to emails or phone calls to cancel. Had the nerve to thank me for visiting and to review them. I’ll be calling straight to their counter when I arrive in SF.This behaviour states untold amounts about the values of a company. Don’t give them your money.
The price is really good. The bike a comfortable. All equipments such as helmet, bike lock are included. The staff provided honest suggestions. Really nice people. Biking to golden gate was an amazing experience. I strongly recommend.
Awesome bike rental place. Our bikes took us all the way across the Golden Gate bridge and to Sausalito. Their service was amazing, and since theyre one of the smaller bike rental places, we didnt have to wait very long to get our bikes.
Very good instructions on the tour we wanted to do, and they took their time to explain every detail to us. Touring SF by bike is highly recommendable, especially if you want to see Sausolitos. The only small issue we faced was that we wanted mountain bikes but it seems hard to get them without reservation. The comfort bikes are OK, but pretty heavy as well. Prices are very fair and the money is well spent.
Very friendly staff, good value and nice bikes. A friend and I rented a road bike and a regular bike for a ride across Golden Gate Bridge and it was a great experience. The bike was in excellent condition, absolutely no noise and smooth brake action. Helmets and locks were included. After setting up our bikes, the staff explained the route to follow which was very helpful. The whole experience was stress free and the prices were very reasonable. Definitely recommended!
Had super service here hiring a bike. Bike was well maintained. Bike had decent size pannier for my bag which was really helpful. Would come back again. They do explain everything like youre a four year old but then that is pretty standard in the USA it seems!
The very best part of the rental process here was the EXCELLENT directions that were provided. The owner spoke very slow, was very clear, and even acted out which way to turn and what stairs to go down...I appreciated that so much! We rode the bikes to Sausalito on the more scenic road, but that required directions that werent hard by any means, you just needed someone to explain it very carefully. I highly recommend this rental location!!
My wife and I rented bikes for the afternoon to ride across the bridge. The location and ease of booking was great however the quality of bikes is questionable. Mine wouldnt switch gears, which wasnt a huge deal given our route but could be a problem if you plan to take on any serious inclines or ride long distance.
Excellent opportunity to see a bit of the Bay area. If you follow the suggested trail, use common sense as the directions provided with the bike are sometimes confusing. Dont pay for bike parking in Sausalito, there are free stands just off the main road as you pass the harbour. On a good day, tons of people board the ferry in Sausalito in the afternoon, I dont know if they are always able to pick up everyone. Tiburon is a safe bet if the ferry first calls there. Disembarkation at SF takes at least 15 minutes.
What fun to bike to the bridge. We made our reservations online which gave us a discount. The staff was very friendly and flexible when we wanted to change reservation times and bike types. If you bike to the bridge I recommend going to the overlook of the ocean on the other side. Bike friendly city.
Very good price-performance ratio. Get a 20% reduction when reserved online. Not the newest bikes, but absolutely sufficient for a small bike tour in and around San Francisco. We enjoyed the nice and friendly staff!
Bikes are much better than competitors for a similar price. Pick-up from the Ferry Building is very smooth. 10/10.
I wanted to rent three sport hybrids for me and my two teenage boys. Based on online reviews, I chose SF Bicycle Rentals. They did not disappoint. The bikes were in excellent condition. We had no problems with them at all. The seats are very firm (padded bike shorts recommended). But, that will be true for any performance rental.Nolan was very respectful and helpful. Im not sure if all bike shops have the same policy, but they did not charge my card for a deposit. I appreciated that.Overall, customer service was excellent and the bikes were well maintained and appropriate for the ride. I highly recommend SF Bicycle Rentals.I also recommend the ride from Fishermans Wharf to Sausalito. There is one fairly substantial hill before the GG Bridge. If you want to go into the Marin Headlands, there are some brutal hills there. The ride to the first observation point is worth the effort. I wouldnt recommend going farther unless youre a seasoned rider.
This is one of the few places in San Francisco where you can rent a road bike. I dealt with 3 different people and all 3 were courteous, pleasant and very helpful. I wanted to pick up the bike the day before so I could get an early start the next morning. They went out of their way to deliver the bike from another one of their locations to the shop located near where I was staying so I could pick it up the night before my ride. The bike was in very good condition and worked perfectly during my 3 day ride.
Bicycles in excellent condition. They keep a credit card on file, but just for the day. We spent $24 for the whole, even though the walk-in rate is $32 per day, we reserved our bicycles the day before, online. Its free to reserve bicycles, just fill out the online form. Even though they said their computers were down, they still honored the rate.
They are really great here!! We started at the Golden Gate park shop and finished by dropping them off here. All of the employees we encountered at both locations were great. Id give them 5 stars but, both our bikes had issues. Mine had trouble shifting gears and that was very difficult with the route we chose to take. And the other bike had a short kick stand so it wouldnt stay up. Overall price was great and the people were awesome.
These guys are easy going, patient, and very helpful! We reserved /purchased Online day before (saves you 20%). Gavin got us set-up. He fit the bikes to us, reviewed the gears, & gave helpful tips. The bikes were well used, but maintained & comfortable. Helmets, heavy-duty Bike locks, and storage bags are included in the price/rental. This place also stays open later than other shops --which is a plus if youre late getting in the Return Ferry line! By the way, they have a Restroom Access! One other thing, if you think you want to Rent an Electric bike at another business; realize, those are Not allowed on the Ferry!
Easy to find. The staff were super helpful and friendly. The bikes were pretty well used. Front stems were loose so low speed was unsteady. My back storage bag drooped off to the side. Did the ride over the bridge and back on the Sausalito ferry. Bridge sidewalk is bit scary with idiot tourists in the bike lane doing selfies. Otherwise highly recommend trip.
Amazing service. Friendly staff accompanied with good bikes and at affordable prices.
Let me just start off by how I was welcomed. It was not only very inviting and friendly but professional from the beginning.Stacy, Adriel, Mike, And Tai are highly recommended when doing groups of 6 or more. This was the second time I rent bikes from them and I will keep coming back every time I come back to the city. They have a route to Sausalito where you can catch the ferry back and leave the bikes at Sausalito for a small fee and they will bring it back for you. Super convenient and the route was not bad for someone who doesn’t exercise dailyThey don’t compare to their competitors, they have tandem electric bikes that nobody else has!Go see for yourself!
Chill staff. Easy check in and check our process. They helped us with our route to the Golden Gate Bridge and back as well as recommended stops. The staff is super nice and approachable.
Great experience, got the online coupon, easily found the location, but mainly, I was able to get a good bike! Im a very active cyclist and when I dont have access to my road bike or triathlon bike, Im usually not satisfied with other bikes. I rented a very solid Specialized Allez, perfect size for me (and there was many other sizes available, bigger and smaller. I was able to bike all the way out to Hawk Hill with that bike which I wouldnt have been able to that easily on a regular hybrid or mountain bike. Prices are also competitive or cheaper than other bigger chains of bike rental in the city.
My wife and I highly recommend this place! The staff was very helpful and accomodating, as well as professional. We will continue using SF Bicycle Rentals as long as we are in the Bay Area!
Very poor experience: First, we were given incorrect information on ferry times. Then, after a 30 minutes wait we were told they didnt have the right bike for us and asked to go to another rental company (... we were there 30 minutes before and personnel was aware of our needs). Unfortunately, a big waste of our time.
Excellent service. Staff was great at helping everyone even novice riders that may have needed encouragement. They get you on the path quickly with helpful tips to boot.
Had a great experience renting a road bike from here. As far as I can tell, they are the only shop that rents road bikes by the hour in S.F. The bike was well maintained and the derailleurs properly adjusted. Good, friendly service in the shop.
The quality of their bikes was good, we liked the bags on the back of the bikes, the price was good not to mention the amazing customer service they have. We had a great time, can cross crossing the Golden Gate Bridge off our bucket list now.
Rented 4 bikes during Fleet Week. Overall a good experience but we had a problem with one of the bikes during the ride with the chain continually coming off line. After we returned the bikes we told the clerk of the situation and all he said was well definitely take a look at it. Didnt even ask which bike it was and didnt offer an apology or discount for our inconvenience Need less to say would use another vendor next time.As a follow-up with owner we were reimbursed for part of our rental due to our issue. Owner is a man of his word. If in SF visit these guys!
I dont normally do reviews but these guys stood out in a city with lots of bike rental options. I rented a racing bike, was pretty much half the price of the bigger companies, in great condition. They had different clipped pedals to borrow. And they were friendly.Awesome riding and store.
Biking the city is a must-do experience, and the San Francisco Bicycle Rentals is the company to use. Their staff was super friendly and helpful and the prices were very reasonable. The bike I received was well maintained and performed flawlessly. I biked along the wharf and up across the bridge to Sausalito. Be prepared to pay $3 to park your bike there. I took the ferry back and dropped off the bike, and the staff were again very friendly and wanted to know how the bike was, and what I saw in the city. I highly recommend checking these guys out. Also, many of the negative reviews involve things that the company has no control over such as rude locals, or getting lost, etc. Go bike the city and have fun!
Staff was very nice, however my bike and my wifes were not in the best shape. Brakes squealing and my wifes bikes gear changes were broken and it was hard to quickly tell which gear she was in. Tandem bikes were also advertised but all broken. None of the helmits available fit.
Great service and bikes un perfect conditions!!! Thank you so much! Best way to visit the Golden Bridge!! Pablo Morales
We used SF Bike Rentals on our recent trip to bike to Sausalito and had a great experience. We were going to use one of the bigger companies but I am glad I found this place last minute. We booked online right before and got 20% off for the day. We walked right in and they had everything ready for us! They gave us a map and explained what to do. My only reason for four stars is that my that the numbers on my gear switch were gone and I did not know which gear I was in but was not the biggest deal for me since most of the ride was flat. We had a great time biking the bridge and then eating lunch and wondering Sausalito. Just a warning the ferry line around 3pm/4pm to get back to SF is very crowded! Looking back we should of paid to leave our bikes in Sausalito and just hopped on an earlier ferry.
Just used these guys today and was honestly not impressed by the quality of the bikes. The staff were helpful and provided us with maps and offered to stay late for us to have time for to return our bikes since we wanted to bike across the Golden Gate and back. However the bikes were very low quality, the first bike my girlfriend got they had gear shifting problems, we asked them to give us a different bike and that one had the rubber wearing on the handles. My bike didnt had a non-functional fine gear adjustment knob, which I unfortunately didnt notice until we were already a couple miles out. Honestly considering they charge 25 bucks for one days bike rental, I would recommend using Lyft or Jump bikes before any of these. Their price is way too high for the poor quality of bikes when you can rent a lyft bike (which is much higher quality) for 5 hours for basically the same price. The helpful staff is the only reason I increased my review from 1 star to 2, but their customer service was not enough to make up for the low quality bike I recieved.
Great service! Very good location. Fair prices. Bikes are in poor condition. Helmets not available in all sizes. Tire pressure should be checked with a gauge, not a thumb. All bikes should be equiped with water bottle holders. But staff was very nice.
Solid 4.5, professional and knowledgeable welcome to the place. Ethan was friendly and helpful (helped adjust seating and pick the right bicycle). Reserved a tandem bicycle that day. Will say the tandem is an older Raleigh bicycle, was hopeful for something more modern. Rode the bridge with no big issues (although changing gears was not the easiest) to Sausalito with wife for lunch. Took the ferry back to Ferry building. The rear bicycle chain broke as we started our ride back, the connecting link fell apart. After attempting to to connect the chain without the chain breaker/tool (do not try), called Ethan and found out they had a location at the Ferry Building! (much to our surprise) We were able to switch out for two single bikes with no hassle and ride back to the Jefferson location. All in all, a little bit of a hiccup which was addressed and we were able to continue our adventure.
Had a fun time on well kept bikes. Best prices and kept getting compliments on the bikes. Were flexible as to where we can pick up and drop off.
I checked about 4 or 5 bike shops in the Wharf before I settled on this one. Why? They had the best prices by far and their bikes looked brand spankin new! My only complaint was that they were pretty busy, but thats to be expected with their prices. I just wish I had seen the 20% online discount earlier. If you havent yet done the ride across the Golden Gate, summer is the perfect time! Do the Mt. Tam ride if youre feeling brave; I wasnt. :-D
Such an awesome experience. Best deal in SF and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Even spent time with my wife, who hasnt road a bike in about 20 years.
The bikes were quite good, the staff was very polite and friendly, the price was fine (reserve online for a discount), and the bikes dont have a gigantic advertisement on the front that makes you look like a tool. Highly recommended!
Really great place to rent bikes. The staff were really helpful and the bikes were top notch. Would highly recommend.
Good quality bicycles, well maintained.Extremely friendly and helpful staff.Great place, I can only recommend it!
Always helpful. Bike set up perfectly with SPD pedals fitted on request.
Great place to rent a bike for the day! Staff was incredibly helpful, even gave us some tips on how to get to Miur Woods the following day.
Excellent Service.... Stacey was very pleasant and accommodating, especially with our children who took their time to find just the right bike for their height and preference!Muy buen servicio!!
We made on-line reservations to take advantage of on-line special. Upon arrival the place was packed. Of course a sunny Friday before a rainy holiday weekend. A group of 20 had just left, a group of 10 was waiting and another smaller group was ahead of us. One of the workers could tell I was getting irritable. He went out of his way to make sure I got my bikes ASAP and provided above and beyond excellent customer service. The bikes were perfect, the day beautiful and we will definitely return to San Fran Bike Rentals. Thanks for your help!
Very helpful people. More than where I should ride, I actually got great beer advice and then I was off to see the Golden Gate Bridge
This was a great place to hire bikes, good price and close to the golden gate bridge to hire from. Open until 7.30pm, we paid $32 for 2 bikes for 2 hours, including helmets, bike lock and insurance for both bikes (insurance is $3.50 extra per bike)
Excellent service and good quality bikes.
The people were very friendly and informative, bikes were well maintained and they honored the online discount. Recommended.
We reserved bikes at the ferry building but we didnt got some in our size. Some of their employees are friendly and helpful others seems to be bored and dont have time for their customers. The good price is a plus.
Im an experienced rider both trail and road so I would say I was a fairly demanding customer right down to the air pressure level of the tires on my bike. I opted for the Specialized Hard Rock as Id never been to the city and didnt know what to expect. Figured I would cross the bridge, get close to the ocean and then turn around. I probably covered about 40 miles of riding on the bike (over the bridge to Sausalito, over to the Oceanside Lookout) with not one problem. I feel like my own bike would have broken down on that ride! My rental on the other hand was extremely well maintained and handled all the roads, trails and bumps perfectly! Better still, the bikes from SFBR are not marked so all the guys hitting up tourists for a quick buck completely left me alone! The staff of course were extremely knowledgeable about both the bikes and the city itself, not to mention friendly and personable so Id recommend that you dont go anywhere else. Of course, you can let the reviews for the other guys make my point for me...
Awesome day biking to Muir Woods and Muir Beach. Rob was very helpful and the bike was great (performance hybrid).
Crews are really nice, recommend the appropriate bicycle, not necessary the most expensive one. And the price here is pretty reasonable (reserve online, get discount).
Excellent staff and easy to Use due to multiple drop off points
Great Service! Lisa is so nice and willing to help customers.
Great servive from start to end. Would highly recommend thumbs up. Thanks
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Rented a MTB (Specialized Hardrock) off them for the day to explore the Marin Headlands and would not hesitate to do so again if I needed to. As with all the rental shops, a lock, helmet and small bag was included but with their online deal they were easily the cheapest.
The bikes were pretty good and appreciated the route they suggested as well. You should check if there website has a discount code as well.
I planned my familys trip to San Francisco and made my reservation at San Francisco Bicycle Rentals ahead of our trip. I was so excited to have found a location with a trailer so that we could take our six month son with us on the adventure BUT as soon as we walked in it seemed like the owner wanted to get rid of us. He immediately jumped to saying that it wouldnt work for our child but at home we use the same exact equipment so it should not have been a problem. He didnt want to listen to us and the customer service was very poor. He also did not want to take a minute to even test the equipment for our family. The location was small and I was extremely disappointed. Luckily we found Blazing Saddles Bike Rentals close by and we were able to ride across the bridge NO PROBLEM with our child. These google reviews must be inflated because my expectations were high but in reality it was very disappointing.
The two stars are for the people there being very friendly and helpful. However the bike I rented wasnt maintained well. There was a lot of slip in some gears to the point that it made going uphill more difficult.
