Great since of responsibility and service. Wont let folks leave with a disabled ride, would rather take the time then send someone on their way with goofed up headset or missing spacer. Roger does it with a since of humor, humility, and purpose.

Doesn’t matter how many Eddy Merckx or titanium bikes you have hanging in your shop. The owner is extremely rude with EVERYONE, including his employees. If you are looking for the ‘vintage shop’ go to D&D, if you’re looking for good bike work and any amount of decent service/price, GO ANYWHERE ELSE.

Randomly walked into this simple, local neighborhood shop and ended up with a bike. I’m a novice rider and they were knowledgeable, helpful & patient with me when I asked about the bikes on display. They also took the time to adjust the bike until it felt like a perfect fit while testing some out.

I recently bought a used bike from craigslist and wanted to get it checked out. I called 7 different shops, Nomad included, to try and schedule a repair. Unbeknownst to me, it seemed like everyone decided to get their bikes tuned up during the shelter in place. Every place was booked anywhere from 2 weeks to a month out. I still needed to purchase a new helmet and bike lock, so I took my new bike out for a stroll. I rode to two different shops, but none of them had much merchandise. I decided to try one more place before resorting to online purchases. Boy, I am glad I did! Not only did they have a great, varied selections of everything one would need for cycling, Andre took time during an obviously busy day to answer my questions, show me products, and even giving my bike a cursory look to make sure it was safe to ride. While I was looking at other items and Andre was helping another customer set up a test ride, I had the pleasure of having a quick, candid conversation with a gentleman who was repairing a bike behind the counter. I did not catch his name, but he has a great personality and sense of humor. I ended up purchasing a few more items that I needed and left the shop feeling great. A very pleasant and attentive interaction. These guys know their stuff and know how to take care of their customers. I will definitely return for any future cycling needs!

Not a friendly experience. Called to inquire about getting a wheel trued and some spokes tightened. Owner/proprietor just said “No” and hung up when I asked if he had availability. Go to one of the many other bike shops in SF. Don’t waste your time here.

Great, old-fashioned, bike store.Desperately needed help with my snapped back shifter cable. Over the phone they said theyd check it out despite Covid19. I *Loved* going there. Max, who did the repair, was super knowledgeable and friendly and Roger had the persona of a benign and seasoned bike expert with a smattering of curmudgeonliness. He helped me out ideas and thoughts on bikes as I am looking to move up and onward with some kind of hybrid. Ill be back for repairs and advice on my future dream bike.

I bought my bike in service, man! The owner is extremely rude and cranky attitude. Every conversation in person or phone call was very unpleasant.I try to support the local business during this difficult time, but this store doesnt deserve my support, not appreciate the bad attitude. Definitely, something you would avoid. This place is not like its used to.

I asked for a full tune up of a five year old bike (cranks, brakes, alignment... everything) and they just replaced the chain for $70 and said that everything else is perfect. When I discovered that they literally did not do anything else I brought the bike back and was told that “this is not going to affect the performance and in order to check the issue with the rear wheel we need to disassemble it and it is going to cost up to $50 just for labor”.

Looking for a bike or a bike shop with excellent service?!?Stop! You just found it!I bought a bike here to replace my commuter. Will is super helpful and great at telling you the truth about products and how often or why you should use them or opt for something different. Ive taken my bike back a few times to get it readjusted since it was brand new and I had to break it in so to say! I added a rack and some packs to make my bike more versatile! Their prices are reasonable and the customer service is top notch! I know Ill be heading back for shoes and any other accessory I fancy!

Went in yesterday with my daughters first bike, getting ready to do her first ever how to ride a bike session with dad. Got there right when they opened, he saw it was a cheaper 1st time bike and said $100 to start just to look at it, lots of closed negative body language. The look said simply we dont want you business. I get it and we left immediately. Daughter still learned how to ride and she said, dad lets never go back there they didnt treat us good. I agree and today we went to Nomad Cycle spent great money and had excellent service. God bless America and great service. Please think twice before you go there. Service is only a few blocks away.

I showed up looking for some help with an old rim from a classic Schwinn looking for a few spokes. Turns out the entire rim was bad from rust. I thought I was out of luck but down in the basement was an old rear steel wheel that was in great shape for a bargain. I have to give 5 stars where 5 stars is due. Thank you you are my shop now.

Very poor service and lousy prices. Felt decent about this shop and even recommended a friend or two to them, but after several bad experiences in a row, I wont go back. They will always quote a price and then increase it when its time to pay. If they give you a price range for a labor quote, add $10 to the high number, and thats what theyll be asking for at the counter, regardless of how it goes.Want a tune-up? Theyll be changing some parts without asking you, and youll be paying for those? Shipped a bike in with a service like bikeflights? Theyll be billing you for receiving it and holding it, and theyll assemble it whether you want them to or not. When they assemble it, theyll change some parts. Youll pay for those.Last tune-up a friend had done there also resulted in his rear derailleur tension being off, which annoyed him to no end for the the first 10 miles of our next ride before he got off and fixed it.
