WOW!!! I think the Amex lounges are awesome, but this place literally said hold my beer. Granted, I was basically the only customer. All the signage said the place was closed and I went anyway because the pandemic has taught me that conditions change faster than signage. So I received VIP treatment...in a VIP lounge, how meta. But for real, ordering amazing drinks and food from an online menu, very attentive staff and a quiet place to relax before a flight makes this one of my best airport lounge experiences! Pair this lounge with a Clear membership for navigating security and you have an airport experience that isnt just not awful, its actually enjoyable! Enough chit chat, take a look at the pics!

Awesome service But you but you have to order via menu and no buffet like other clubhouse. I ordered the Salmon salad and it was very good and highly recommended. The tea selection are awesome too.

Great new lounge situated right after security instead of the previous lounge which was before security. Great food and cocktails and very professional, polite and attentive wait staff.

I found the lounge absolutely great. Yes, people complain all the time: I didnt feel special, or I wanted a quicker service, or the bathrooms need refurbishment. Not sure what you are used to, the space is nice and relaxing. Facilities are great, clean, with opportunity to take a shower. The food is great: my veggie burger was fantastic as well as my chips. Staff is nice and attentive. A great experience.

This is a poor lounge, I was expecting a lot more from Virgin.The lounge is in need of some repairs especially the bathroom. As you can see from the pictures the tops are damaged, pipe work not fitted correctly. The some dispenser was a mix of two different soaps and paper towels used to sock up scum.Heath and safety is a bit on the relaxed side. Think the staff might need a tool box talk on trailing cables and the trip hazard. And all to charge a phone instead of asking the customer to move.

The lounge is close to the security gate so you wont miss it but its at the corner.The location is not posh and you would expect a nicer lounge so prepare to be dissapointed going inside the lounge you can already sms the food I dont know if there isa poor ventilation system on the hallway.The place is a bit small but cosy and comfortable enough to wait. Chairs are comfy and there should be enough space to dine and do last minute computer job.I had a corn and clam chowder and a burger. The soup was cold and bland. Diced potatoes are swimming on my soup thus wasnt able to finish it. The burger was delicious, the burger patty was moist and well seasoned. I ordered a dessert which should be warm brownie where vanilla ice cream.should melt but was totally dissapointed. The brownie was more like a crumbly loaf bread.I would.like to commend my bartender for the night as I dont usually drink alcohol I was pleasantly surprised by a moctails which is. It only flavourful but thirst quenching and delightfully delicious.

The staff is very friendly and responsive, and the food is decent. Got here in the morning, and there were hardly any person here, which made it a really comfy and relaxing lounge. The only downside is probably that this lounge is pre-security, so I couldnt stay longer.

Nice lounge but lousy and slow service!My wife, 1 year old son, and I checked in 3 hours before our 14 hour flight between SFO and TPE. Being a gold member, we were directed to the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Lounge in SFO International. We arrived to an almost empty lounge (with maybe 2 other flyers). I walked around looking for the help yourself food but was greeted by a waitress that gave us a menu. This was the first airport lounge I have been to where they give you a menu and take your order.We picked a seat near the entrance and looked through the menu. After about 15 minutes no one came back to take our order. My wife ended up going back to the bar to place our food and drink order. During this time more travelers began to arrive.The waitress brings my wifes tea and sons orange juice (instead of apple juice, what my wife had ordered for him) which was okay since he drinks that as well. But completely forgets to bring my Johnny Walker whiskey. After 5 minutes I go back to the bar to tell them they had forgot to bring my drink. After their apology they bring my drink.When the waitress brings our food she completely forgets our toast and only brings two pieces after we remind her. By that time I am almost finished with my omlette and whiskey.After I finish my food and drink, I sat at the bar to get a tequilla. The waitress pours the tequilla and serves it to me. While I am drinking my tequila, I watched a couple come in and sit at the far end table. No one brings them a menu or checks on them for about 10 minutes. As the man was going to the end of the bar to get some menus, I mentioned to him that the service was slow so he calls his female companion and they relocated to the bar.I finish my tequila and go to order another but the waitress says that she cannot serve me another tequila since there is a 2 drink limit per hour rule. She mentioned that there have been other people who cause trouble on the planes so she cannot serve me another drink. I told to her that I have been there for 1.5 hours since I arrived. She talks to her manager and says that I can order a wine or beer. I ordered a red wine and returned to the table where my son and wife were sitting.I took one drink from the red wine then asked to speak to the manager. After 10 minutes a woman manager came over with the waitress and asked what was the problem. Before I could speak the waitress asked me what drink I wanted and brought it to me.My overall experience at Virgin Atlantic Lounge was pretty crappy.Just a tip for the travelers who are looking for a quick bite/drink before their fly...I would NOT recommend Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse!

Was clean and very good. Went there really early at around 6:15 am. They had basic breakfast items and good coffee. The lounge was very clean and quiet. It even had a place to take showers.

Bartender Justin is incredibly knowledgeable and does an internship every year with the featured partner bar. Dont miss his cocktails.

Nice view and calm, at least early in the day.Don’t expect to come here after a red eye and get refreshed though.Very weak and mediocre drip coffee, no espresso options, according to a woman at the bar (they do have a nice espresso machine, but it doesn’t work), there are showers, but no towels.

Staff and food wonderful

Very impressive all round. Had over 4 hours before our flight, too early to check baggage in. No trouble, one of the lounge staff did it for us! Reasonable selection of food, good choice of drink. Service attentive but not oppressively so. A member of staff even escorted us to passport /security. Couldnt fault it, best weve been in for a very long time

Review of morning Priority Pass hours. Nice and quiet, very little food. More and better food downstairs at the Air France Lounge.

Nice quiet and clean lounge with clean bathrooms. Showed up at 7:15a on a Tues, and some snacks and light breakfast items were out, but no real food. Coffee bar was closed, just a dispenser with pre brewed coffee. Staff was friendly though.

Its OK but nothing special. Some of the standard lounges at Garwick are better than this premium lounge. Staff attentive but just didnt feel special.

Extremely relaxing atmosphere with very attentive staff.The menu is very classy, without the small portions of À la carte.Personally I would recommend the Kimchi fried rice from the Main courses, washed down with a Champagne Cocktail.Lovely!

Its inconceivable that I would fly with anyone else across the Atlantic. Laying flat and getting 7 hours sleep is a lifesaver for someone who really doesnt travel long-haul very well.

I think the Virgin Atlantic Lounge in SFO is the best lounge experience Ive had outside of the Lufthansa HON First Circle. This includes the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse in LHR. Service is above average; attentive without being overbearing. Food options are excellent, featuring options for vegetarians and meatatarians alike. Their cocktail program is so far beyond expectations, collaborating with a local Tiki bar. The number of times Ive asked for a cocktail recipe at an airline lounge: 1...at the Virgin Atlantic SFO lounge.

Great food !! They have a wide variety of drinks, specially the whiskies (I did not have any though!!). Nice courteous staffs. The food portions are bit small so you need to order few of them if you are having a proper dinner or lunch.

My recent visit in SFO was the first time I tried a Virgin Atlantic lounge. Eva Air has a partnership through which you have access to this lesser known lounge, which is located before security. I liked that a lot although of course you have to factor that in when getting to your gate. Had an a la carte omelette for breakfast which was really quite delicious. Pretty quiet, spacious and with plenty of light. Better than I expected!

Nice to be able to order your food from a menu. Looks well worn and needs the replacement that I understand is coming. My wife decided against having a shower as she found them very unclean and came straight back out.

This would have to be one of the best Airline lounges in the world and probably the best in the US.Not big, quiet, modern décor, HUGE bar, skilled and pleasant staff, wonderful menu........yes menu! No buffet sitting for hours going crusty here. You are greeted at the door and then at your table by your waiter. the coloured glass on the windows adds a little something too.Yes of course you have to pay for it(with your ticket) but worth every dime if you have a couple of hours in SF to kill before your flight.

Only 3 toilets (they are also shower rooms so get tied up for 20 mins at a time). Table service only which is annoying when you wanted a quick drink/food and have little time. Food was nice and staff were friendly.

I got sent there by EVA airlines because I belive United/EVA are remodeling? Excellent menu and service. Very friendly. BUT being located before security kind of defeats the purpose. You come in early to avoid the long crazy security lines and end up crossing it when they are busier. One cannot relax the same way as when the lounge is past security. I hope this is only for a very limited amount of time and they switch back to where it has always been before.

This clubhouse used to be a problem for me because it was landside, but the alternative airside lounges at SFO have always been pretty poor - unless you like feeling like livestock in a Centurion lounge! Now the passenger flow has changed and its airside.By far the best lounge at SFO

Annoyingly this is before security so it can be variable as to how early you need to leave to make it through the queue in time. Otherwise the food and drinks are excellent as is the overall feel of the lounge.

My most favorite airport lounge! Virgin Atlantic lounges are the best, and while the flagship Heathrow lounge is so very impressive, the SFO lounge is my personal favorite. Amazing food, drink, and service in a modest size lounge with a view, and in a very convenient airport. And, its landside, so you can be the guest of a frequent flyer friend when youre saying goodbye.

Reminiscent of a James Bond set, this luxury lounge may be full of fellow travellers but its careful design and fantastic staff manage to make it feel uncrowded and chic. Theres a wide selection of food and drink to graze on, showers, spa treatments and even a hairdresser for a preboarding trim.

Great food and fun drinks, but the facility, itself, is very tired. Its hard to compare to Centurion or Polaris, but those are the benchmarks for lounges at SFO. I also dont like it being outside of security and in a hallway that seems very 80s.

Ive been here a couple of times - its a comfortable lounge, not huge but didnt feel super crowded. Service was friendly and attentive, menu has several light meal options (I had a vegetable curry which was delicious) and drinks, including some local beers. Bathrooms well equipped. Lounge is pre-security, so handy if you arrive early but be sure to leave promptly as screening can get busy (esp without TSA Pre).

Staff was friendly. Especially an older gentleman who was a waiter.As much as I would love to give a good rating, they found a way to lose my luggage after giving it to them for storage. They were unable to find it in time for my flight.They seemed unprepared and flustered when it came to handling this situation.

Good food you order from a menu, vs buffet style of most lounges. Signature drinks, local brewery beers, stylish decor.

The lounge is fine but its BEFORE the security check, which makes it extremely impractical. Especially when you consider how useless is the priority line at the international terminal unless you have TSE pre-check or similar advantage for few selected passports.

Worst service ever. Have traveled in hundreds of businesses class flights and used lounges around the world, but starting from the reception at the door, to ordering food and coffee, everything was an issue for the staff. Once again wosrt ever service

Great food and drinks but being outside security in the days of TSA wait times makes the experience very very stressful. Virgin need to move their lounge or partner with someone inside terminal security. Leave 40 min before boarding time at least to be safe. TSA SFO is woeful experience.

Even though I rang twice to explain that our daughter is diary intolerant they still didnt have anything for her on the 10 hour flight back!
