Outstanding customer service from the Dispatcher to Bryan the Tow Tech. Got a Flat tire coming out the border on a Saturday Memorial Day weekend at 11:30 pm and Cortes to the rescue sent out Bryan with the tow truck with in 30 minutes was here and very knowledgeable tow tech guy straight to business. Let me first say that this company was dispatched by AAA. My driver was Brian and he was amazing. Personable, professional and CAREFUL! He took his time loading my Mercedes and carefully strapped her down. He was a pleasure to ride with. Great conversationalist and great driver. We spent a good 2 hours driving from Chula Vista to the Mercedes dealer in Temecula (On a Friday afternoon). I hope to never need their services again, but I would definitely request Brian if I did. May the chore of towing a car 70+ miles a pleasure.

The driver Marco, is the best. He spotted the problem, explained it to us and took our service truck to Cummings Chevy and then drove us home.

They found my car parked in a bike lane and towed it. My friends brother just died and he has to be buried in a few days and we cant go to the funeral now because we have to pay for this to get our car back that you guys towed illegally. Many cars park in the bike lane and red lane and they only get a ticket not towed. This is messed up they just prey on people. Many any other cars are in bike lanes up the street on third and orange including my o friends car so why towed the other? And you gave two different reasons one cause in a bike lane and other cause it was parked in construction which is it?

I was very nice to Alfonso from the start and all he had was bad attitude, the reason I give the bad review is because he finished it off by doing damage to my vehicle

This tow truck company has the worst workers ever I asked for the managers name they can’t give out that information I asked for the lady’s name that tended me before I called back and they also they did not want to give me her name besides that she hung up on me while I was talking to her.. and asking for questions so rude then Alfonso as well had an attitude not helpful whatsoever worse customer service I’ve ever had.. rude employees only.

Daniel came to the rescue one day to tow my stalled car. He went above and beyond to get the car on the truck and asked the appropriate amount of questions to make sure the delivery was successful. Thank you for my making my bad day better.

This company is hidden and seem to take advantage of towing cars for extreme rates along with the city of Coronado they take your car to a different city and chrg excessive fees.... Car thief

The tow truck driver Alfonso was rude from the start. He reprimanded me for not answering my phone after he had called “several” times. I had 1 missed call from him. After loading up my car, he informed me that he was going to drop it off in the street and that his company didn’t drop off in the drive way. After a conversation on why he should have let us know before he loaded up the car, he dropped off my car where we sat. His reason was he didn’t know the address and that we didn’t ask. He was a obnoxious! Don’t use this tow company utilized by AAA!!!

Fast, efficient, friendly. We broke down at the Mexico-California border and were at wits end. Cortes towing got us to a shop without delay, and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommended when youre in a bind!

These guys are quick and are the go to company I use for my property management company. Their place is between Coronado and palm Ave. So if you are in South Bay they can be wher you need them quickly.

They were all very friendly and helpful. They kept the lot open until we could get our car towed home. Answered all of our questions, easy to locate. Good people all around

Horrible Service, Very Rude !! Not helpful treats the customers like criminals especially when you are trying to get YOUR belongs out of your own vehicle. They just stand there and watch you. When you ask for Owners names or person in charge the Lady up front looks like a dam Thug her self and she want give to you .

Went to pick up my car after leaving the hospital and while waiting for our tow truck the manager said we dont need to worry to pay right now, do it when your tow truck gets here the price will be the same. Tow truck gets here and they charge us an extra $92 for after hours. We get the manager to come back and he refuses to honor his word. My advice is if these snakes get a hold of your car get it back immediately and do not listen to them if they try to hold onto your car longer.

Cortes towing stole my vehicle once i refused to sell the car to them. There driver who is my neighbor asked to buy my vehicle when he was told not for sale he reported the car abandoned to CVPD who ticketed my vehicle. Cortes towing then picked up my vehicle charging $278 just to hook my vehicle claiming it took 1 and half hours to do so. Dont trust Cortes towing they are thieves.

Horrible customer service. Employees are unprofessional and disrespectful. Stole a brand new bottle of cologne from my truck when they towed it too. Sucks that CHP calls them by default. Stay away if you can!!!!!

Waited over 2 hours and 4 phone calls and they never showed up to tow my car. Their excuses were that the driver tried to call me and i didnt answer. Not true because no calls were ever received from them, although I did receive incoming calls during that timeframe from others. So I called them and cancelled my request. I then called Isabel towing who responded within 10 minutes. Will never use Cortes ever again. No wonder they have such a low rating !!!!

Guy couldnt wait 5 minutes. Wanted more money for his pocket. I have never dealt with a more shady character in my life. These guys are criminals. Use another service

Terrible experience with Cortes towing. AAA sent them to me. They showed up and we agreed on the service center they would tow my car to. I gave the driver my keys and told him to call me if he needed anything. He decided not to tow my car. He also left the keys in the car. The car is a Jeep with the top off. So, anyone could have taken it. Because my car was in a private parking lot, it got impounded. Cortes towing said they tried to call me. I have no messages from them.There are a lot of tow companies with 4 or 5 stars. AVOIDE CORTES TOWING!

My dad called these idiots to get his car towed they told my dad they will be there in 30 minutes. After 30 minutes he called again then they told him they tried calling him but he didnt answer his phone LIARS my dad had his phone in his hand and he had no miss call from them. So then they told my dad again they will be there in 30 minutes again. After 3 HOURS they still didnt show up. To top it all off my dad was only like 2-3 miles away from their towing yard. Bad service

First of all, they do police impounds, so many of this reviews are going to be bad. So, to those people stop breaking the law and your car wont be towed. Other than that I had a good experience with them, me and my family got home safely after our accident. They took is out of the dangers of the freeway l, and actually while the driver was hooking up our car a car on the freeway almost hit him. He was scared, all he said is that he was glad nothing happend cuz his daughter was waiting for him at home.

The driver on truck #13 was fighting and flipping me without a reason. I repoted him to their office and they didt give a damn. Do not hire these punks.

They are really bad the towed my truck didnt let me know that there was going to be a charge to come in and get my tools there a bunch of scams 3 different employees I talked to and 3 different prices the last guy seemed he was going to be cool be he charged me more than all the others SCAMS I tell youThere no GOOD!!!!!!!

Two bad experiences with this towing company now, so to me that means its time to write a review.A few years back I had a new car and I was a teenager. My battery died mysteriously so we called Cortez towing to jump it. They came and jumped it, but the guy suggested that I must have done something stupid like leave the lights on to make the battery die because I was a teenager. He told my dad basically that teenagers do stuff like that all the time. I hadnt left the lights on, my car automatically turns them off. I literally couldnt leave them on if I wanted to. We ended up getting the battery checked out and it was a faulty battery. Had nothing to do with me being a teenager, thanks.Now its several years later and my dads truck died for a second time in a week on Coronado. We live in Imperial Beach. My dad called at 8 am to see about getting his truck towed to IB. They said it would be $70 and that theyd be there within 2 hours. 2 and a half hours later he hasnt heard from them. Finally he called them back. The original person he spoke to is on her lunch break. They say now that it will be $150. What? So not only were they not communicative, they were late, and then suddenly the price doubles.If I have one bad experience with a company I usually let it slide. Everyone makes mistakes, things happen. But this is two crappy experiences with Cortez now. We are definitely never using them again.

October 16, 2017Let me start by saying this place doesnt deserve any stars!!! I contacted AAA about 7ish p.m. asking for a tow because my car wont start and guess who they sent out here? Yup Cortes towing! We first had one guy come by in a pick up truck which we obviously knew he wasnt going to be able to tow our truck so he said he called Cortes that they would be sending a bigger truck, wait time is 15-20 minutes that was around 7ish than the driver calls says hes in Otay dropping off a car that he will be here in 20-30 minutes. Next we get an automated call saying your tow will be there at 9:45 still no tow so we call Cortes just to find out they are short drivers and the driver who was supposed to already be here is still in Otay so now its 10 p.m. and here I am waiting....

Let me first start off by saying I am a AAA member and they use this company...BIG MISTAKE!I needed my car towed to my shop from my driveway as it was inoperable. They sent a driver from Cortes towing. Guy pulls up and first thing out of his mouth was wheres your registration, not hi, how are you, do you have your membership card and a valid id.... super rude. So i said that aaa told me to have my membership and a valid id which I had both. Guy says while Im not going to tow you bye. And took off!!! So I called aaa and told them, they said he should not have asked that at all..and they contacted the company. Company called me and said they would send the guy back out ... big mistake... guy pulls up again and says dont know why they sent me back out I said because you were supposed to tow my car and its not right for you to take off and not... he saidIm leaving and took off again!?!? Obviously this guy is lazy and rude as hell...! He knew wed have to push the car to hook it up to the truck. Bottom line is HORRIBLE COMPANY AND HORRIBLE EMPLOYEE!! Now I know why there are so many bad reviews about them. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AND AAA U NEED TO STOP USING THEM OR YOU WILL LOSE MEMBERS SINCE THEY ARE REPRESENTING YOIR COMPANY... they wound up sending out jakes towing and everything went smoothly as it should...

Run from them!!Martin (or whatever) of Cortez Towing cant even jump a battery! He did not speak ANY English so I showed him where the battery was located and a diagram of where to place the jumper cables. He still couldnt figure it out! So he just walked over got to the truck and drove away!!!Idiots!

I had a really bad experience. They damaged my car and then tried to tell me it was my fault. I will never recommend this place to anyone. I will be contacting AAA about this awful business

Worst customer service ever contact person at Cortez towing was rude and really didnt seem to care that I had been waiting almost 2hrs when my wait time was 40mins.

These people are something else, you give them clear and precise directions and locations and they come back at you from left field with the most idiotic/redundant questions, after you explain it twice.!!!!

Their rates are insane can you charge way more than what you posted charging $250 an hour on the board simply States $65 for labor over an hour space rips people off and should be reported to the Better Business Bureau
