Went there for the first time, I called ahead to ask a mechanic about a problem I had with my car. (Needed to replace the front axle due to damage.) Ended up talking with Dave, the owner. He told me to come in ASAP as the damage couldve resulted in something worse. When I arrived I met Dave and he was very informative, direct, and open to help. He gave me a fantastic run down on the labor and parts and how much the whole thing would cost. I was already aware of the price range due to prior research and his estimate was exactly as expected. Left my car over night as the part would arrive in the morning.I called in the morning and they said they were just starting on the repair, it would take an hour or two and that they would call me. They didnt end up calling me but I went back anyway assuming my car was ready, and it was!Dave gave me a free inspection and recommended a minor service but I was in a hurry so told him I had to put it off. He didnt pressure me at all which was comforting. Overall great service, will definitely be recommending this place to others!
I had an amazing experience at Certified Car Care. My car started to generate strange noise, which sounds like the brake issue. In Discount Tire guys have checked the brakes, found nothing wrong. They advised to show the car to Certified Car Care mechanic. I came there, didnt even have an appointment and was ready to wait, since there were other cars. Dave asked me for a key, listen for the sound for about 1min. Then, saying nothing, lifted the car in a garage, did something, and return car to me. Without that strange noise. And, the most amazing thing, he charged me nothing.Great professionalism and honesty! Needles to say where I will go next, in case of my car problems.
Dave and Dani are fantastic! Just recently purchased a 2004 Dodge Sprinter which needed quite a big of work (also somewhat difficult work due to age). Dani is an expert technician on these vehicles. Very thorough and cost effective to boot. Absolutely no need to service your Sprinter at the dealership.
Exceptional service! Went during my lunch break for an oil change, turned out there was a bigger issue and they went above and beyond to fix the problem, help save me money, and get me in and out quickly. Honest and extremely knowledgeable staff. Won’t take my car anywhere else!
I normally dont write reviews but with the quality of service I received I feel this is well deserved. Dave at Certified Car Care presented a caring and professional environment the moment I walked in. My experience with him and his team was absolutely great. Their turnaround time and knowledge of how to do quality repairs blew me out of the water! They really cared about my situation and helped me in my time of need, by getting me the cheapest rate possible and still providing great service towards my car. I know they were doing and giving their best when they worked on my car to make it reliable. Others shops simply didnt care and where unaffordable. I highly recommend Daves team. They have me as a loyal customer in SD. Thank you very much for your kindness, help and for being there for me in my time of need and hardship and for continuing to help me if I have any problems. Thank you Dave all the other staff members I didn’t get to meet who help make this possible, I and my family are extremely grateful. God bless all of you!
Multitude of work done for a MB diesel including severe collision repair, timing chain, and exhaust system repair. Good communication, fair prices, courteous techs, and a client/merchant relationship that doesnt reek of being scammed or treated poorly. Great place. Strong work. Fully recommend.
Every time Im in there greater with great smiles . Always happy to help. Well informed . Wonderful tects. Seems to know the cars an trucks. Smart .friendly .. Clean waiting room . Good coffee. I drive 300 miles to get my car looked at once a yr. Cant wait see them again.
I rarely make reviews, but in the case of CERTIFIED CAR CARE I wanted people to know what a great experience I had. I am a single mom on a very limited income. I have a 2007 Toyota Prius. I knew my car needed new brakes but it was also not running right. I took my car to the dealership and was told the bill would be at least $900 (probably more) since they had no idea what could be wrong with the car. The service writer acted like my car was the first car he had ever seen that was not running right. I got a bad feeling and left. I went to CERTIFIED CAR CARE and I am so happy I did. Dave took the time to explain to me what was going on with my car. Turns out it needed a tune-up. My car was done and running like new without having to wait or leave my car for hours. And my bill was only $500 including the brakes. I highly recommend CERTIFIED CAR CARE. I will return any time my car needs repairs and know I am getting the best service AND fair price from Dave and his excellent staff.
While visiting friends in San Diego I had a problem with my car. Upon recommendation I had my car towed to Certified Auto. They were very courteous and attentive. They looked at my car and immediately diagnosed the problem. They discovered a bad hose and showed me where it was cracked. Their prices were competitive and the work was completed in a timely manner. The owner offered coffee and I felt very comfortable. I am very pleased with Certified Auto and would recommend this shop without reservation.
Timely service. Mechanic explained everything. Front desk friendly and very helpful. Would recommend this shop for their excellent service
Certified Car Care was super helpful fixing the hatchback handle on my Prius. Reasonable prices and quick work. I definitely recommend!
These guys did an awesome job on my old truck! Dave helped me on my budget and got my beloved ride back on the road. Highly recommend, my truck will be repaired and upgraded by that shop for as long as I am living in San Diego!Dave, I drove off with a smile on my face!
They were able to fix two independent front axles on an awd Subaru, replaced the center linkage (completely broken) and fix my A.C. wiring harness in addition to an alignment for less than my regular mechanic was going to charge for just the axles. They saved me almost $1000 on that repair and the car rides great! Very knowledgeable staff, quality repairs and great prices.
This is the shop of Dave and Dave. Dave the owner is very friendly provides excellent over the counter service and is always willing to explain service to your vehicle, and provides excellent service at a fair price. Dave the Mechanic is absolutely the best mechanic I have met. Willing to go over exactly what has been done, explain helpful hints for the future, makes excellent recommendations for future service and strives for happy customers. This is a Military Friendly shop, owned and operated.
Dave and his crew are arguably the most reliable and trustworthy personnel Ive dealt with. Very friendly, cost efficient and time efficient!
I had an amazing experience at Certified Car Care. Owner Dave was great as he quickly got my vehicle in and diagnosed the issue within minutes. I didnt even have an appointment and their service was like they were waiting on me to arrive. Friendly front desk and mechanic Tom was very professional and explained everything regarding the service and really made the visit pleasurable. Made me a client for life.
I recently had my car fixed here. I was very satisfied with the service provided. I had new axles put in my car. After my visit my car is running smoothly. Thanks Certified car care! You guys are great.
I cant say enough good things about this place! From the moment I walked in and was greeted by Savanna, the service writer at the front desk, I felt so comfortable here. Ive been totally burned bringing my car places in the past by shady mechanics and auto shop owners. This place is different.I brought my car in because my wheel was shaking like crazy and I knew something was seriously wrong. I heard good things about CCC, so I decided to give them a try. Dave had my car diagnosed within hours of dropping it off even though they were kinda busy. It was serious, but luckily my car was still under warranty! And even luckier that I found myself at the best auto repair shop in San Diego. Savanna and Dave both spent a ton of time talking to my warranty company making sure that they had everything they needed to get everything covered... Way above and beyond! My car was in and out in a matter of days and Dave and Savanna both kept me updated with phone calls everyday to let me know what was going on with my car. I couldnt be happier about my experience. I hope nothing else goes wrong with my car, but if it does, Im bringing it back here!Highly recommended. 5 STARS.
I wish I could give six stars. Wow! Certified Car Car and Danny and David are angels going straight to heaven!Im a single mom with 2 jobs and have a very old, high-mileage, leaky, squeaky 2009 Mercedes 350 SUV, that is about to die! I got a good deal on the car, and planned to run it into the ground, to avoid car payments on a new car.Trying to save money, I began replacing the steering fluid when I heard a squeaking sound. I also YouTubed how to fix coolant and did it all wrong-putting the steering fluid in the coolant reservoir. Dont do what I did!Like most things in life, everything goes out at once! Within 2 weeks -my driver side window stopped working, rear tire had blow out, all the lights blew and most frighteningly-my entire steering rack became so stiff I could barely turn my wheel more than 45 degrees at a time! In addition to being terrified of an accident, lots of drivers gave me the finger as I held them up attempting to turn safely. I had no other car, or adult in our household to help get to school and work. In addition to the inconvenience, it was not an awesome few weeks. My shoulders popped out from putting all of my muscle into turning the super stiff wheel. I couldnt park in normal spots. It was dire and stressful. As a female, Im reticent to go anywhere near a car shop or dealership as I feel Im always up sold or swindled. The last time I had an estimate for the aforementioned repairs it was 2-3k. I asked the AAA guy who put on the spare tire who he knew that was: highly skilled, high integrity, honest and cost-conscience. He recommended them, and said hes never suggest anyone else and that they are above all-honest and skilled at domestic and foreign repairs.Within a day, they fixed EVERY single thing for far less. They also did things I did not ask at no charge-oil change, smog test, rewiring my broken window. Most importantly (warning, Im about to get Cheesy), they had empathy and compassion! They pled with me to use an Uber or loaner until repair was done not wanting us on the road. Even offering one of their personal cars. They explained in elementary terms-in a way I could understand-what was wrong and located a salvage part to shave off what would have been 1-2k more than my bill.I arrived in tears because I could barely turn safely and didnt have thousands to blow on a repair for a car thats not even worth that. I left misty-eyed, with a renewed hope in humanity thanks to David and Dani.Oh yeah-best part, my hunk of junk car now drives like a brand new one! They are gifted and intuitive mechanics.Easily, they added another few years to her life-ultimately saving our family the expense of having to lease or buy another one.I will never go anywhere else!David and Dani, I cant thank you enough for keeping us safe.-Jessica, Devon (11), Grace (9)
David and the Team know Hybrids for sure... They were fair and informative with my 2008 Prius. Big issues turned small with the right Team and Straight advice. Seemed like a lot of all kinds of vehicles in the shop too... Thanks M
These guys are the best. good prices and they just tell you what you needs to be done. They do not try to sell you a bunch of extra things you really do not need.
I had a tough diesel engine repair that needed to get done and they went above and beyond to help me. After my experience with them I dont want to go anywhere else to have my vehicle worked on. They are the best.
I had my oil pan replaced here. The techs were very informative and helpful. The service was great and I got my car back within the same day.
They Quoted 800$ for a part which is worth 350$. They said my car has so many issues (including brake) but It been more than 9 months now and my brakes are perfect.I took it to another auto mobile shop to confirm the facts and they said i do not need replacement for another year or so. Not sure who writes good reviews but Dave(the owner) looted me
Took my car there and they claimed to know about Toyota Prius. I had an intermittent problem that is difficult to diagnose, and they did not figure it out, but they replaced some other parts that may or may not have needed to be replaced. The experienced mechanic there is trustworthy, but the owner is a bit sketch.
I own a 2013 Chevy Silverado, I came in a week ago off of the reviews on Google.Went in and asked Dave could do an alignment in a rush. He told me j could wait for about an hour so long as nothing was wrong with the truck.Waited an hour and he only charged me $60... I havent seen a ship only charge that for a 4 tire alignment. So glad I went the weird shake is gone. Dave said it was the for and caster misaligned when I got my lift.I will be back for my next oil change and my 100k check.
Spent over $1,000 with these guys having them work on my brakes and fuel injection system. They supposedly replaced lots of different parts including, but not limited to the brakes the rotors the shock absorbers and the oxygen sensors. The car now runs and brakes worse than it did when I first took it to them. I would not recommend this shop.
Its embarrassing to say, but Ive had my used car for 7 years and never really had maintenance done it, with the exception of oil changes. The lack of maintenance were showing and really hindering the drivability of my car. I decided to get my costly, serious repairs at Certified Car Care due to my husbands luck and good pricing with them. For all the work David (the owner) and his team did, it only cost me less than 750, where it would have cost me well over $1000 at a special Honda place. The skill and work they did really showed in how my car handled on the way home. I cant say enough good things about this place! Genuine, fair, and serious car gurus at this place!
I took my car in a few days ago to replace the fuel pump and o2 censor & I must say that I am well pleased with the excellent service that I experienced.
If you havent taken your car to a mechanic in a while this is the shop to go to!!!I own a 1952 Belair, no one works on older cars anymore, cant blame them they are difficult. Dave took care of my Belair like it was his, seriously, he parked it in the bay every night to reduce the possibility of rust. I trust this shop because they have proven to me time and time again, they will go to the ends of the world to get me parts. My brake light fixture was rusting, they went through 3 scrap yards in order to find a new one. I cant thank them enough!!Thanks Certified Car Care!
There has been two times Certified car care has saved my life!!!Im pretty sure my bill was over 2,000. They really worked with me on pricing. The staff was very understanding, the mechanics were AES certified and amazingly fast. Certified car care has definitely proven to be a one stop shop, I recommend this shop to everyone I know, the guys are amazing and dont try to sell you bullshit things you dont need!Long story short,They keep it real. They work with you on pricing. Its a one stop shop. Thumbs up!
Great auto repair facility 👍
Given the good reviews for Certified Car Care at 8360 Miramar Place I called Dave, the owner, who was very nice and persuasive saying he would take care of my van. I told him the fan belt (also called the serpentine belt) needed to be replaced and Dave offered to diagnosis the van for free. Dave sounded honest so I brought the van to his shop. Dave said he would get back to me in a couple hours. I called the next day and he said he needed a more time to check it out. After 7 days Dave calls me and reads off a long list of repairs the van “needs”, including new brakes, new glow-plugs, etc., totaling about $3,000. He explained how he had diagnosed and researched the costs of all the repairs. I told him I SPECIFICALLY said I just wanted the fan belt replaced. This is when Dave’s tone and attitude became defensive because he was upset that I wasn’t going to have his shop do all the repairs he claims were “needed”. This really annoyed him. When I kept insisting that he just replace the belt, he said that to replace the belt he needed to do ALL the other repairs. He also told me the fan that the belt attaches to was missing as well as other parts, which I knew was untrue. When I told him that it wasn’t missing anything, his story changed and he said they were just old and needed replacing. So I asked him why he told me they were missing, he didn’t respond. After Dave had obviously lied to me, I decided I needed to just go to the shop and talk to Dave in person. When I got there Dave again began telling me all the repairs were necessary in order to replace the belt. Away from Dave, I spoke with one of his mechanics, Tom, who said sure he could replace the belt without doing any other repairs. When Tom and I went back inside, Tom got very quiet around Dave, who again was telling me all the repairs were necessary in order to replace the belt. Tom said nothing. This shows his own employees are afraid of him. I of course just kept repeating that all I want is the fan belt replaced. So now Dave starts telling me he’s going to need to file a report with the police because the car is not safe to drive (needs new brakes, etc.). I tell him it will be towed away by AAA and ask him what he is talking about. Changing his tone of voice and looking like he’s becoming upset, he keeps telling me the car is not safe and he’s going to have to file a police report, and of course I keep telling him it’s being towed and not driven and that they just need to replace the belt. Finally, seeing that I wasn’t going to agree to any of his “necessary” repairs and that the police report intimidation strategy hadn’t worked, Dave finally agreed to just replace the fan belt! What a drama! I ask him when it will be ready and he says tomorrow by noon.Next morning, I get there and Dave says the car is ready and starts saying that Certified Car Care isn’t responsible or liable for any future problems the van may have because it’s unsafe. He hands me the invoice to sign and says that if I don’t sign it, he won’t release the van to me. So, I look at the Labor Description column and there is no less than five statements that describe Certified Car Care is not liable and or responsible from this date, including for any “KNOWN ISSUES TO INCLUDE BRAKE SYSTEM, DRIVE TRAIN, STEERING SYSTEM.” (See picture of invoice). After I get the van home, it would not start (when I left the van at CCC it would start and the engine would run. What happened to my van while at CCC? Do not trust your vehicle to this guy, he is obviously one of the crooked mechanics that are out there. I would look elsewhere for a mechanic. An hour after I posted this review on Yelp, Dave called and screamed at me that hes calling his lawyer and is going to take me to court for extortion. He finally realized that he got caught because someone exposed the truth about his shady business practices. His threat of court doesnt scare me because I speak the truth and he will lose. Ill keep the Google community posted. The truth shall set you free.
Dave is Awesome, very fast and friendly service.
Best service and friendly manager answers to everything. thank you!!
Great service!!!!!
