Way back in the day it was a nice place to visit. Even had a recording room to make your own music/videos. It was fun. They even sold real electronic parts from A to Z but not that much anymore. Had a great Music an Movie section. But again, not anymore. Now the place is not really worth driving to. Prices unfortunately not that great. Too much refurbished.
Havent been here in years. Looks like theyre going out of business. They use half the sales floor for merchandise. I wanted to build my own gaming computer but they barely have components that you want or need. That may be due to the shortage thats going on right now for good components.
It used to be a good store, they had computer components, desktops and pretty much every other electronic thing you can think of. The customer service was good but now its like there are no employees and they avoid you. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU WANT TO BUILD A COMPUTER!! Sure you may be able to a few years ago but now all they have is some cases psus, and cpu coolers. They also have overpriced RAM. In conclusion good a few years ago not anymore
This store reminds me of the days just before Circuit City went out of business. The retail apocalypse is probably going to claim another store. Honestly I have seen better Fry locations around the country. The store is really big, but there is nothing in place of merchandise to be found. Most of the shelves are empty and the staff seem less than eager to help. I went in there for one specific thing but could not find it and so I left. I feel Frys could be a contender with other stores of this caliber if they just reorganized the store better and had more merchandise, or simply had a storefront that had a smaller footprint because this store is just too big for what they actually carry.
It’s so lonely now. I used to build computers for the family back in high school and there was always someone ready to help pick out components and offer advice. Both times I’ve been in within the last month I’ve had to look for 5 minutes for someone to help to simply locate an item. Many items needed to piece a computer together are not even offered in the store now.
I love this place. It has so much electronics but I wish that it had more components for building computers. Still 5 stars
Used to be my favorite shopping place. Came over on black Friday... only 13 cars in the parking lot. I remember a while ago on a black Friday could not find a place to park and give up after half hour driving around.
They really need to do some work on their roof. I was in there during a rain storm and water was leaking in no less than 50 spots. Water was raining down on tens of thousands of dollars worth of electronics and im not certain that they didnt turn around and dry off those electronics and resell them. Its hard to imagine how they let the roof get to such a state of disrepair. I would would have a hard time trusting the condition of sensitive electronics purchased from there.
If I could give this store negative stars, I would. If you need equipment, assistance, or NEW products, dont come here.Frys used to be stocked with inventory and filled with associates who wanted to help. Now, its been replaced with empty shelves and USED products being sold as new. YES. I exchanged a security system only to realize, once I was home, that it was already used. Someones information was on it and I couldnt log in. I took it back to the store. The general manager, Paul, wasnt even concerned. He said that it sometimes happens and that he had no control over it. (Really - selling used stuff as new?)Since the security system I purchased never worked as advertised, I tried to return for it a credit. Paul, general manager, was aware of all the issues and stated to leave the system with him and he would contact his buyer to get a return authorization so that I could get a refund. This was a LIE. He never called. Instead, he put it on the floor and stated it worked. Frys store still has the system. Paul finally tried to give it back after arguing with me because he didnt do as he promised.I tried to call Headquarters but after numerous attempts no one has an update and no one has an answer. Everyone passes it on from the Customer service call center to the Front Office Admin to the District Managers and thats where it ends. At this point, I have no credit and no security system.AVOID this place at all costs. IF you do buy something there, OPEN and PLUG it in to make sure it is NEW and not a RETURNED PRODUCT being sold as NEW. Do not expect honesty or fulfillment of any type of promises or any follow up from higher ups. SHOP SOMEWHERE ELSE!
Seems like a ghost town, but can still find great deals. Nice for that hands-on of merchandise you dont get with online shopping
There are not many items left in the store, more than half was empty. I was able to find what I needed. No one was around to ask for help. Looked like they were getting ready for close the location.
This place used to be great. Now it is mostly a collection of off brand junk at high prices. Went for a keyboard and mouse pad, very basic stuff. Walked out with nothing since all they had was knock off junk.
Ordered from Frys online on a Sunday morning and was able to do a quick pickup later a few hours later. Plenty of parking and lots to choose from in store. Great prices!
This place used to be my go to place for computers and electronics. Its pretty depressing now. On the plus side, there was absolutely no wait time with my purchase and subsequent return.
They have pretty much everything electronic. The tech was super helpful, but couldnt take my laptop in for repair due to Covid restrictions. Suggested an indie shop. Good guy.
The store was deserted. No floor help. I was fortunate a fellow shopper told me to go to checkout counter for help. Shoppers had to navigate around leaky roof at check-out line. NO hazard signs or bucket to collect water!
Only rated 1 star because they are remodeling or something, according to an employee. It seems more like theyre about to go out of business. There is VERY limited selection of products. Empty shelves. Very few employees. Large sections of the store closed off. And everything in the store is an unorganized mess. Wrong aisles, wrong labels. Hopefully these issues are fixed soon, and covid doesnt force them to close.
Fry’s is a great place to browse for the geeks and pseudo-geeks amongst us. Everything from hard drive rack mounts and video adapters, to coffee makers and refrigerators. Help can be hit and miss. It’s best if you know what you need and have done your research ahead of time. And I do worry about long term viability for Fry’s with all the eCommerce out there. They usually have a lot of options, which is good, although sometimes too many (choosing between 78 different brands of usb cables is exhausting). But prices are pretty good and it can be fun to explore.
So sad how Frys has declined. Once a great store going the way of Sears... Sad days.Bare shelves and poor customer service.
Picked up some $20 workout hook earbuds. People were so helpful and precise in location of everything I asked for. 3 customers were there at the time. Whew!
I used to love coming here, but after stopping in the other day Im sad to say it looks like its on the verge of closing down. Half the store is closed off and the shelves have slim pickings
I ordered online a display port to vga adaptor cable, they had it up front pretty quick. Transaction was fast and efficient. Not the hopping place it was years ago but support Frys buy what you can. The part was cheaper then at Best Buy.
The effects of the pandemic can be seen at Frys, as much of their inventory has not been stocked, and whole sections of the store (large appliances) have been cordoned off and closed. Gone are computer motherboards, surveillance cameras, and most discreet electronic parts. Computers and computer peripherals, audio equipment, and small appliances are still available, as are 3D printer filament, USB and video cables, some tools and connectors, toys and fragrance knock-offs. Check-out line snacks have been replaced by a large selection of masks, (including KN95) and sanitizing products.
Best electronics store for sure!Love this place 10/10
Pretty sure this store will be closed soon. So if you can snag a deal before that happens it might pay off to swing by. Sign up for emails and they have killer deals on Tvs and the such.
Love the idea of this store. Stock was pretty low and scattered.
Another review for James, the gentleman who is in charge of PC repairs. He built my PC last year and I ran into a problem with it. He remembered me and did a top notch job repairing the issue. I was not sure what to expect and he exceeded my expectations. I definitely recommend having him build your PC and take care of any issues you may have.
This was not the Frys of yesterday. It reminded me of a swap mall where there was little selection. When I spoke with one of the employees, she said they hadnt received a shipment yet. But there were 2 laptops in an area where there were once 20 or more. One of them was a refurb unit! To say it was pathetic is an understatement. It reminded me of a going out of business sale where the store had already been picked over. I hope this is only temporary but I dont think Ill be returning any time soon. I was a good shopper and didnt take any photos inside since they had a sign advising no photos inside.
Literally nothing in stock. Not a single laptop or computer available. Employee stated to come back in 3-4 weeks and check. Best just to stick to online sourcing for anything needed electronic wise. This place used to be great for your one stop shop needs for electronics. Not so much anymore.
Still carry everything I need electronic wise at low prices and no crazy holiday crowds! It felt like I had the store to myself. Awesome
Not what it use to be, looks like they are going out of business now.
They dont have any mid to high end items anymore (no GPUs, quality HDs etc...) But they do have a ton of small things like cables. Huge store, kinda empty and hard to find stuff.
Its getting to be a bit of a ghost town, but still fun to walk around. No computer components, TVs or electronic components anymore.
The staff was very helpful, but the store looked like a ghost town inside
Wow. They have.to.much of everything I dont want and nothing of what I do want. And what they do have is a knock off of what you came for. Frys use to be THE place to get electronic gizmos and gadgets, now its a sad place with memories of better times
These guys USED to be my go to for anything electronics (especially components) & office needs. The shelves on my last several visits are nearly bare. The aisles are twice as wide to apparently hide their dwindling stock. Many items they used to carry are now gone entirely. Prices of what they have are still great but selection is so limited I guess Ill have to find somewhere else to shop. A real shame.
Frys Electronics definitely not the place they used to be... although they have improved slightly, ever so slightly. The thing I get most at Frys is surprisingly, Pepsi. If you have the promo code price, and if they have it in stock... excellent deal. The slight improvement in the DVD/Blu-ray section is encouraging. As a collector of physical media, its nice to see the selection improve. It probably will never come remotely close to the past, and thats a shame.
Its alot different from the past, but they do have alot of PPE that is desperately needed these days and is greatly appreciated.
It aint what it use to be they dont have to much in there they was best buy before so I dont know what happened but it use to be fun going in there now I dont need nothing in there
I ordered online and drove to the store to pick up a small electronic component in June20. It was strange walking into the huge empty store. The transaction was quick and efficient. I normally use the Frys in San Marcos. They are both huge stores with very little merchandise inside and even fewer customers. I dont know how they survive. I guess most their business is online now, but it is just strange to see all that vacant retail space.
Love frys never great selection of everything and I can find lots of interesting finds
Unofficially the place to find masks or face coverings at a super deal. Multi packs for very good price. But try to find cell phone case for anything other than iPhone, good luck!
I went today worried that my fairly new laptop that I barely use would not start up again. As I walked in James Hartung greeted me and took my concerns at heart. He careful and patiently worked on my device to see if it can be any easy fix. Even though it took awhile, he was able to recover my laptop in proper working condition. He was very professional and I am ever so grateful you have someone like him in your company . He is definitely an asset. Please acknowledge him and thank him from me from the bottom of my heart.
Under normal circumstances, Frys is awesome. But in my last visit I was so disappointed. The shelves are empty. Whole sections are blocked off. Merchandise is randomly shelved. It looks like they are going out of business and everything that they have is out, which isnt much.I will say that they have a decent amount of PPE available including masks, visors, gloves, and sanitizer.I hope they are able to restock soon, Id really prefer to spend my dollars locally.
Not sure this place has actual employees. Worst customer service I’ve ever seen. I think they actually avoid customers to be honest. Bahaha
So very disappointed at Frys today. My friend, who just happens to be black, was accused of stealing. He was purchasing a phone mount and the item happened to be opened and sitting next to the box on the shelf, decided he wanted it and was walking around the store with the mount and box in his hand. Store security came up to us and said he had it in his pocket. It was in his hand the whole time! Racial profiling at its best. Ive been a long time customer of Frys but I will never shop here again. I suggest others dont shop here, unless you want to be accused of stealing.
Quiet and low key, has many deals over a wide range of products.
No one around to help you and way out of date inventory. Dont waste your time.
They have all electronic devices you may need.Fair prices, crew is very professional and helpful.Lots of parking.
Brah neva ni get no pupu plattahs at dakine cafe yeah. Neva can get good pats go da computah braddah, stay hammajang! shoots.
Store is organized in a way (finally) that made it easy to find what I was looking for.
NOT LIKE Regular Frys Electronics, DO NOT SHOP HERE if your expecting the Frys like Burbank or LA... We stopped on our way from San Diego The store looked closed boarded up just a few cars... we pulled up and i got off to go see if it was even open, To our surprise it was! We walked in to a bare store sparce of merchandise, my first thought was it was closing I asked the security guard if the they were Closing the store? and he said No! it was around 11ish am and the store was practically empty! The vibe was strange It felt like i was in another dimension! An older man walks in looking around with a questioning look scratching his head, Asks ME.... WHATS GOING? What is this? Wheres all the people? Thank you I said My exact sentiments! We went for motherboard diodes and diy kits they had none of it! NO SECTION NO DIY section No Personal electronics! It was more like a discount liquidation warehouse! This Frys is in name only!
Sad to see so much empty space but the folks in there are in multi task mode and working with what they have. Got a good game computer from display 😊 last one in the store
Poor service. Had issue with computer that I purchased there and their service department was down. They recommended Best Buy. I do too!
They get five stars for staying open this long at 5% stocked shelves. Hang in there Frys! You can surivie!!!!
The guy who repairs PC is very honest and he seems very good at his job. He fixed my gaming PC in didn’t charged me. Thank you
Worst shopping experience in my life! Place has decent things but the staff there is no where to be seen! When I finally found an associate it was like being rescued from a deserted island. Spent my whole time there trying to find the right person that knew anything about IPhone screen repair kits. When I finally find that person they told me they hadn’t had any for over a year ago. Oh and none of the associates would help me find the person that knew this information, guess they were too busy.
A desolate wasteland and a shadow of its former glory. Depressing, but true.
Love this place but it has the feeling of circuit city... on the way out.
A shell of what it used to be. Frys used to be fun and engaging. The energy was up, youd be able to hear home theater demos from the front of the store. I felt encouraged to spend money on fun tech. Today however...sadly it was the complete opposite. The employees are engaged with each other, the store is quiet anywhere you go and the shelves....looks like the place is going out of business. Its depressing how much that store has gone to $hit. Frys people! You have to do something quick. Get new Management, marketing, inventory... something! This place is looking like the spot tech goes to die.
Helpful staff but it was hard finding certain items then found more on their online site. Got what I wanted from there.
Glad they are still open, best place in SD for electronics parts but very hard to find salespeople.
You might wanna change your mind about visiting because you most likely wont find what youre looking for. The place looks abandoned, like theyre just about to go out of business. Large sections of the sales floor are roped off or barricaded. Majority of the shelves are all completely empty. I struggled to count 6 employees in the entire store. The pictures I took are from my visit on a Saturday afternoon.
Its gigantic, and has plenty of selections and decent prices.
This store is like a a museum almost. I feel like it used to be great but now its a husk of the shell it once used to be. The vibe is like I went there to buy a portable CD player. It had nothing i needed for electronics
I dont hate frys..Normally I love going there to check everything out..But Honestly, they have absolutely no products in the store right now..It was almost completely empty..Im sure that will change..But it was just another reminder of the covid virus.
A shadow of its former self. Many areas are closed off. Mainly just computer products, video games and Whats seen on TV.
As much as I used to love going to Frys, they no longer have anything I am looking for in stock. It sadly seems like Amazon has cut into their business...
Very little stock. We asked for help looking for heat shrink in a different department because no one was working in the department it should have been, but the employee said he didnt know and that he doesnt know that section. He then turned around and just stared at the wall. It would have been nice to be directed to someone who could help, but instead was left to figure it out on our own. I would not recommend going to this location
Very bare bones as far as offerings. Aisles were mislabeled and items strewn about. Had an umanned swap meet feel about the place.
They must be on their last leg of business. Although its been a while since Ive been there they used to be stocked with any and everything you could need but now not so much. Limited store assistance too.
Not much staff on the floor. Hard to get anyone to help you find something. Had to wander around until I stumbled upon what I was looking for. Not a fun task in such an enormous store. I should have ordered online ahead of time.
This is awfully depressing visiting this place during Covid. Shelves are empty, the pc component area is closed off and hardly any customers. Used to love coming here.
Adult toyland. Best prices on electronics. Its like Christmas time every time I go there.
Lots of stuff to purchase. Prices are good. Hard to find what your looking for.
I love this place! Lots of cool electronic gadgets. Is to bad not alot people in thereMaybe cuz everyone is buying on line? But is definitely a cool place to shop
Lame.lame.lame second time gone there and cane home with a used product, thinking it was a new one .the worst thing about it its a tablet with all thw cyber security issues we have in this world .the ladt thing id want would be a used tablet....no thank yku frys you keep itby forever.
Loved this place 15-20 years ago... sad how empty is is now. Hope they bounce back...
Been a while since I was there so I was very disappointed to see what it has become. Used to brag to everyone about all your electronic needs including tools being filled. No longer the case. Big bummer...
Brought my son to look at gaming PCs and pick up a RAM upgrade for an old laptop and man... Compared to its hayday, this place is a ghostown now; no doubt due to a number of factors like Amazon and COVID... We were greeted by a door screener with his face in his phone and not so much as an acknowledgment of our entry, but I guess the days of actually greeting your customers as they walk in are gone. Rows of merchandise areas where laptops and desktops used to be displayed as you walked in the door now sit empty as if the place is about to shut down and theyre liquidating. The area in back where you could piece together your own system is an empty mess and finding an employee on the floor to ask about where to pick up my RAM was a time consuming treasure hunt. Ultimately our upgrade was handled by employee behind the register up front who had to visit a cage for our purchase; he wasnt thrilled about it either as he had to go back several times before bringing the correct one... He assured me they didnt have what I wanted until I showed him their website where it showed in stock. Then when he ultimately found it, he blamed it for being in a different spot than the other identical ones brought before... Ill give him a pass this time due to the uncertainty of what lies ahead, but Im sad this place has gone down the tubes. I guess Best Buy is gonna be the last big box electronics retailer before this is all said an done, but I hope not.
This used to be my favorite place to look at technology, computers, parts, games, anything. Havent been here in maybe a year and was very surprised to see the store shelves are empty. Its like they are going out of business. I asked an associate and they said they are not going out of business, they just arent getting customers. It comes as no surprise when you dont have anything on the shelves! There are no computers on display, no computer parts, almost no video games, the signs for whats in the aisles dont match whats there. The place is a mess! Extremely disappointed, not coming back.
When I was at Frys the store employees seemed to avoid helping me, I mean I would see a couple of employees talking, I Would make eye contact with them and they would start walking the other way.
Pretty sure theyre going to shut this store down. I went for a basic computer part and there were huge empty areas of the store. It was almost surreal how devoid of people it was, employees and customers alike. Its too bad because they used to have tons of stuff at good prices. This time I couldnt find a reasonable dvi to HDMI connector, the one they did have was like $30, its about a $10 part. Oh well.
To be honest I remember it being allot fuller so I was a bit shocked to see it so empty but the things they do have on the shelves was awesome we got exactly what we wanted plus some extra stuff I didnt know we needed till I good there lol super nice casher too I had a question regarding 2 different masks and he tried answering the best he could Im definitely going again thank you
Purchased new refurbished cpu...went in with one in mind and left with a better cpu. It was $30 more but 1/3 the size of a typical tower. The new mini cpu also came with a new keyboard/mouse combo. I also purchased a new retractable mouse for laptop...and a GPX dvd player. Great service...great prices.
Sorry this place looks and feels sad. They are probably going out of business soon it feels like. Not sure how they pay the rent on this huge building without the sales to back it. Maybe they own the building.Maybe 1 or 2 people for the whole building to help you find something.
Seems like due to covid there are less sales reps. But everyone who helped when we visited was very nice.
