Jack your team is AMAZING. my new continental had an issue due to my driving in the country on dirt road. I know some dealers would have screwed the customer, Ogara did not. All free and even delivered the car back to my house. I appreciate you guys. GREAT JOB

O’Gara’s 1st Summer Track Series event at The Thermal Club Raceway.O’Gara held its first summer series race event this past Sunday, on June 23, 2019 at the Thermal Club just east of Palm Springs, California.Based upon the amount of pure unadulterated fun, the event was a huge success. The camaraderie among the instructors, drivers and Thermal Club staff made it a spectacular day at the track.Every great Drivers Education event, has ample track time. This was no exception. We started at 8:00am directly on the Thermal Club track. This was the North/South configuration. The Thermal Club’s track can be configured into several different race tracks, from as short as 1 mile, to as long as 5 miles. The track we used combined both the North Palm and South Palm circuits, which is roughly three miles per lap. This configuration boasts long straights, fast sweepers, low-speed technical sections, with a little elevation change as expected in a desert landscape.Fridays and Saturdays are their busiest days. Thursdays and Sundays are the least busy days. As such, we were not sharing the track with the experienced drivers or professionals.Parris Mullins was my instructor and is a professional race car instructor that started racing at age 18 and worked his way through the profession circuit. He explained handling the car at speed, momentum, and the best way to take the tight corners, sweepers and the U-turn at the end of the long straightaway. He described race braking and compared it to street braking. Street braking is slowly squeezing the brakes on and off to not unsettle the car. Race braking, which can only be done in a straight line, is to forcefully apply the brakes initially, then let off the brakes slowly to bring the front end up gradually, to not cause understeer at corner entry. I significantly improved my skills in braking and corner entry as a result of his instruction. We then took a tour of the O’Gara Motorsports facility located just off the front entrance to The Thermal Club track. The O’Gara Facility is specifically designed for its race members and customers. It includes a repair facility that is set up to repair all makes, including Lamborghini, McLaren, Bentley etc. There are several lifts and repair bays for their professional mechanics. The race club members have their own secluded portion of the facility. It includes a relaxing driver’ s lounge with a kitchen, that comes loaded with snacks. It’s a great place to socialize after a hard day racing. The locker room comes fully equipped with a shower and full bathroom. The only thing that is missing is a sauna.Downstairs is the storage area for the members race cars. It only takes a phone call for O’Gara’s mechanics to fully prepare the members’ race cars for the track. Upstairs is a second lounge area that includes a top-of-the-line race simulator for its members. In the future, O’Gara may use their semi-truck to haul the members’ race cars to other tracks and events. O’Gara has already sold eight of his 12 total memberships to this exclusive club. These events will be held throughout the summer. It’s an excellent way to get to know about O’Gara’s Racing Club, The Thermal Club, and the race track itself.Bill Hartsock
