Excellent customer service and flexibility. Booked the wrong date but the girl was working that day quickly resolved the issue and got us the kayaks that we needed with no hesitation. Had a great time with my son and his girlfriend. We saw a few sting rays and many fishes jumping above water. Would definitely recommend this to anybody who is looking for a fun day in the water.

Online reservations and online waiver signing is great! Super quick and easy to navigate. The two ladies who checked my husband and I in were pleasant and knowledgeable. I had never successfully been able to stand up on the board so one of the ladies gave us a quick run down of what to do (I’m talking 90 seconds or less). Let me tell you following her tips and instructions made all the difference! Felt like a pro by the end of our hour reservation. She warned us of stingrays and reminded us to shuffle, which I truly appreciated. I was eager to get in the water and would’ve stepped right in without her warning. They also have tubs with lids to leave your property in on the shore behind their check-in tents. This will be my go to spot for SUP rentals for sure.

Went out with the significant other for our first SUP experience. Quick and easy tutorial and conditions were great. Would definitely go again. Just make sure to try and do reservations since trying to do a spontaneous walk up appointment is likely not to get you a spot...thats what we tried to do the day before and there were no slots for most of the day haha.Water was just the right temperature, the channel is extremely calm with the exception of when a boat would come by. If we were to do it again we would consider doing 2 hours just so we could sit and relax for some portion of the time.May have to try the dog SUP next time =)

My first time ever paddle boarding. Really enjoyed it.

Today, my sister and I had another session with Parker and as the last time, he was very informative and most patient with us. Parker knew what we needed for this session. We will be back for another session soon, Im still too chicken to stand up but Parker is understanding and makes sure that we are comfortable with the pace of our lessons. My sons are eager to take a lesson with Parker and we will set that up soon. Thank you Parker!!

We had an absolutely awesome time on the water!! West Coast was Amazing!!! Reservations were super simple, on line. We rented a SUP and a single kayak. We showed up 10 minutes before our reservation and they gave us a box to put your belongings in, which was great because we were wondering what to do with our stuff while on the water. They got us on the water super fast and the were all so kind, we had a group of Moms and kids and the sweet ladies who worked there gave us some instructions and safety protocols, then made sure we felt safe before we took off. It was a wonderful experience for our wholeGroup! We will definitely do it many more times this Summer!!! Absolutely recommend!!

My family planned for a cousin event at Liberty Station and rented a few paddle boards to share a new experience together. Everyone loved it so much we are all now looking to purchase our own paddle boards! The staff was extremely delightful and informative during the entire process. We had even stopped by early to ask if we could switch our reservation to a later time since the weather was overcast and chilly. There was an error with my rental being only given 1 hour when the time should have been a 2 hour rental. I was immediately reimbursed after bringing it to their attention. Thank you for the excellent service and hope to be investing in several paddle boards with West Coast Paddle. Keep up the great work! You guys rock! 😊

This is an amazing adventure for you and your pup. You can get an hour long instruction and Sam is an excellent teacher and she will show you and your dog how to successfully paddle board and she takes wonderful pictures too. I highly recommend it for a fun day of Sun, surf and fun. Your friends can watch from a close grassy area and there is a clean bathroom near by and of course Liberty Station is just a few blocks away. Make sure you turn on Farragut instead of the physical address given and Farragut wil take youl straight down to a large parking lot and the water. Proceed to the Orange tent and have fun!

I had never tried paddle boarding but wanted to for some time. I finally made a reservation for a lesson at West Coast Paddle Board Rentals. It was great-- Jamie was my instructor and she was helpful, patient and encouraging. I feel like after one lesson I am good to go back and rent a board and get out on the water. If you havent been paddle boarding, or youve been many times, I would highly recommend going here!

West Coast has a great variety of boards and kayaks for any experience level. You can even get a lesson! The area is protected from boat traffic so no worry about swells and it is easy to get to as well. Lots of fun!

My dog and I loved our lesson with Sam and Jack a few years ago. Now my dog is a paddling pro!SUP Connection is great for renting because its so convenient. If I had my own board, I would have to either carry it to the water or blow it up every time I wanted to go out on the water. I know my dog would get antsy waiting and I think carrying everything to and from my car would be more tiring of a workout than paddling for two hours.Its easy to reserve a board online and then just show up to SUP Connection, leave my car keys and shoes by their tent, and get on the water. All the employees are friendly and helpful and the equipment is always in good condition. Really glad I signed up for their membership for the rest of the season! I plan on having a membership next summer, too.

On line reservation/payment/waiver was very user friendly and smooth. Our party ( 5 adults, 10 kids) arrived at the tent and were greeted...they were expecting us. Offered a place to put our personal items. Told us where to paddle and how long it would take. Very helpful, professional and friendly! We will definitely rent from them again!!!

I was very disappointed with customer service . I was joined by my therapist because it was my first time kayaking. Never once did the young man assisting my therapist and I acknowledge my presence. He looked directly at my therapist (Caucasian), and proceeded to inform him safety and regulations but never once did he look in my direction as I stood right in front of him. Im black and felt dismissed and ignored. Although I made the reservations and paid with my own money I was not acknowledged, just ignored and looked over as if I was invisible. So sorry to write this, perhaps he was unaware of his behavior. The interaction with this young man was very disappointing and sad. Buy the kayaking itself was great.

Today was the first time ever on a paddle board and Parker put us at ease giving a great lesson. He was patient, calm and didn’t laugh once. 😂 We, my sister and I, recommend West Coast Paddle Rentals (and Parker) for lessons and equipment.

I love being a member with West Coast Paddle rentals over there in Liberty Station!!! When I make a reservation, I just show up, jump on a board, and paddle over the little schools of fishes and look at the people stuck on land and accidentally get in some great core exercise. Sometimes the blue heron is there. I don’t have anywhere to store a board; this way, I don’t have to carry it, wash it off or anything! I can just run away after ward. Run away! Run away! And they’re so nice.

I had a great time at West Coast Paddle Board in Liberty Station! I signed up for the hour long lesson. The instructor was quite patient, and as a 74 year old with no previous SUP experience I was quite nervous! She made me feel comfortable and I am ready to try it on my own!

I am a senior citizen who loves kayaking at the SUP Connection. In August of 2021 it will be my 6th anniversary of kayaking at the SUP Connection. I rarely skip a week. I kayak for 1 hour. I was uncertain about trying it 6 years ago, but I am so glad that I did. The water is calm most days in that part of San Diego Bay, perfect for beginners. There are no 2 days alike in that part of San Diego Bay. You can head north to the Marine Corp Recruit Depot. Or, you can head south and then east into Spanish Landing. Or, you can head farther south and then east into Harbor Island. From the mouth of Harbor Island you will have an amazing view of the downtown San Diego skyline. Whatever route you take, you will encounter very few, if any jet skiers. You will feel safe. The people who work there are super nice and super helpful. They are young and very fun to talk to! When I started 6 years ago I needed some help getting in and out of the kayak. I don’t need help any more, but the employees will help you as much or as little as you like. Most days you will see something that you have never seen before! That part of San Diego Bay is endlessly interesting!

I’ve rented paddle boards here twice and had a great experience each time. The hourly rate is competitive, they offer online booking which is really easy and convenient, and the employees are friendly and knowledgeable.

Staff is always friendly and helpful. Great place to go on calm waters. The SUP CLUB is a great deal for $60 a month unlimited. Love these guys.

I have rented from others in the past... not all rental companies are created equal. West Coast has it figured out... Easy online reservation and waiver process and outstanding customer service. Liberty Park area has lots of parking and the best waters for paperboarding too-- calm waters, very few boats, and scenic.

Very easy process to rent the stand up paddle boards online. Then when you get there the staff is very friendly. Where you launch the paddleboard is off the sand and a nice easy grade so you can stand right onto it. I highly recommend this company

Hands down the best in the business!From the start Maile and the staff were courteous, professional, and extremely flexible with our company group event. Most in our group had never been in any kind of water device but we were given a thorough instructional and allowed to start the fun! Staff helped us in and off the boards and kayaks in order to help prevent launch/ arrival tip overs and gave us all great tips because the waters were unseasonably choppy. Like I said, most of our group had never been on the water but with the great instructions, tips and guidance absolutely no one from our group fell into the water. We enjoyed the flexibility of being able to come back in and switch from a kayak to a paddle board and vice versa or remain on the beach under the pop up tent that was included in our package. For a group of 20 this was great and while we do plan to come back with a larger work group, many individuals mentioned they will be returning to rent single boards/ kayaks because they enjoyed it so much. Also appears they offer doggy companion stand up paddle board training… umm, YESSSSSS!!!!!
