We rented two old-school (non-electric/hybrid) bikes from Top Jolt Cycle for 2 days. The owner was friendly and helpful, and our bikes got us all over the Ocean Beach area! I would definitely recommend renting from Top Jolt!

This is the place! Excellent communication, I had left my bikes in San Diego after a move and needed to get them to me in SF ASAP! I called one bike shop who actually referred me to Jolt Cycle. The owner is an amazing guy very kind and knowledgeable. Updated me throughout the whole process, And was able to ship my bikes to me same week 🙌🙌 I will recommend to all my friends and family! 5 STARS!

We rented e-bikes late in the day and Todd was very helpful to get us out the door quick so we could enjoy the bike ride before the sun went down. Prices were affordable and bikes were in excellent condition. We would definitely recommend this place!

A hidden gem in Ocean Beach for bike repair and tune-ups! I needed an old bike tuned up and made functional in a hurry. Another nearby shop wanted me to wait a month for an appointment.Todd was able to do it within 3 hours!Both inner tubes and liners replaced, a bent allow wheel straightened, everything lubed and cleaned, a kickstand put on.Todd, the owner, was very friendly and fair.The bike shop is in the back of the Himalayan store, and you can also rent electric bikes there.Highly recommended!

Great bike rentals - had hybrid bikes to tour the area (with great suggestions of good bike routes around the city) and road bikes on offer for longer rides as well.

Prices were good. Had the electric bikes for 24 hours and rode around San Diego. My husband and I had a blast. Definitely recommend as we didnt have to pay for parking where went. Todd was great to work with and it was easy to get the bikes.

I recently rented two electric mopeds from this shop. The mopeds were brand new and would highly recommend renting them from top Jolt. I couldnt have picked better way to get around.

I was looking for an innertube for my bike and said he wasnt at the shop at the moment.He then made sure to give me a call when he was there and gave me some options to fix my tube and offered another innertube type that did fit my bike.He was easy to work with and fun to chat with. Would recommend this place.

Rented a pair of bikes from Todd, he was very kind and informative about where to ride. Also asked him to assemble my bike as I had just moved and it was in a box. Dropped it off on Sunday in pieces and picked it up Monday put together and running smooth.

My wife and I rented 2 bikes for 4 days. Tod generously dropped off two bikes at our hotel and brought over a faster bike the next day for free. Super reliable bikes, rentals price was super reasonable and Tod was friendly!

Went in to get my tire innertube changed, Owner had a bad attitude, went flat the next day.. he refuses to fix it! Boycott!!! Go to Bernies Bike Shop next door. Or anywhere else ..0 stars if could..NOT OB Cool

I rented a bike from here for two days while in SD and it was perfect! The price was very responsible, $50, and he gave me good tips on where to go and how to get around and how to avoid the worst hills haha. SD is very bike friendly, so I highly recommend renting a bike to get around.

I called to rent a bike for the week and they quoted me $100 for each bike. The pricing on their website says $60 for a week. They said due to COVID they don’t have a lot of bikes left. So you are going to almost charge double?! You need to update your prices on your website or honor the prices you have on your site. It says this is the friendliest bike shop in the area- not if you are going to rip people off and try to price gouge then.

Todd was very helpful from answering all of my questions to making sure the settings on my bike were perfect. I also appreciated the wide range of different bikes to choose from to buy. Thank you!!

The bike I rented here was in perfect shape mechanically, with brakes and shifters properly adjusted, and I got a good suggestion on a route. I often rent bikes when I travel and I often find rental bikes are not well maintained, so I really appreciated getting a bike that was in good shape, especially going up and down the steeper hills in that area.

My buddy and I had a great experience renting from Top Jolt! The owner (Todd) was friendly and flexible, as we contacted him for a rental an hour before we needed bikes. He also made sure provide us with well maintained bikes he lubricated the chains and checked them for safety and fit prior to our arrival. Finally, we were provided with helmets, a lock, directions, and affordable prices for a great day of riding along San Diegos beaches! I definitely recommend renting bikes from Top Jolt Cycle!

Went just dropped the bikes off just a little bit ago and the owner was a sweetheart. We bought an electric bike there last week so I can commute to work with the hills and a 10 mile ride each way... the bike is soo much fun and my commute is awesome. Bye, bye gas prices and hello doing good for the world and me. My kids think its great too. Top Jolt Cycle was great. Great customer service and working with us and a good deal on the bike! I went for a weekly rental on a hybrid. The bike I received was patently unsafe and in terrible condition. The rear wheel was severely warped. The tires were underinflated. Both brakes were so soft that stopping quickly was impossible (the warped rear wheel makes functioning brakes impossible). The derailleur was not functioning properly, gears did not stay in place and would rattle loudly. The entire drive train looked like it hadnt been lubricated in a year.This was the only hybrid they had in my size, so I went and found a much better hybrid at another shop for only a few extra dollars. I returned the bike after a few hours on the first day. Out of a $72 rental, I received only a $33 refund. I wouldnt mind a nominal fee, but charging me nearly $40 for an unsafe bike is terrible business practice.

Im from out of town and wanted to ride the Dog Beach/San Diego River area. Top Jolt is in the epicenter of OB and had expert advice and service. I will be a repeat customer. Im a guy that hadnt ridden a bike for 20+ years so I found a comfortable cruiser and had at it. Perfect day!

Very friendly and helpful. We had reserved road bike rentals for our upcoming trip but had to cancel due to illness a few days in advance. They were friendly and prompt with the cancellation and refund.

If the shop isnt open, be sure to call the number on the door. We were able to rent a couple of bikes over the phone without a problem, once we actually read the sign!
