Dropped in for a loose brake on my road bike. Minor issue and they were very willing and nice enough to fix it on the spot. Excellent group of people working there that worked together to fix my bike super quickly, and also gave me a couple spare parts from the parts bin that I was asking for. Super knowledgable, helpful, and friendly, with excellent service to boot. Plus, a dog!
Very friendly staff, got my ebike serviced here twice and both times it was well done and decently priced. Service takes about a week currently due to covid but usually it was even faster than that. Would recommend if you need bike servicing.
I really wanted to frequent this bike shop. They are friendly, and have a great process for scheduling service. We bought my daughters bike here.Issues:1) Missed the delivery timeframe multiple time. Even though they had the bike, they kept giving us times on when it would be assembled, then missing those times.2) Did not help set the bike up at all for my daughter. No seat height adjustment, no brake position or shifter position adjustment.3) After she had the bike for a few weeks she mentioned the rear wheel felt weird. Turns out the rear wheel had not been fastened tightly enough, and had come loose in its bracket.4) We had the first tune up done the week before a mountain biking clinic. At the clinic, we did a safety check and the instructor immediately noticed that the headset was loose.5) At the tune up we had mentioned that she frequently throws the chain. They said they noticed nothing wrong, and it was all setup correctly. Post tune up, still throwing the chain. Turns out the Shadow Plus derailleur had the stabilizer switch lever in the incorrect position for riding. This allowed the chain to bounce around more, and be thrown. Flipped the switch into the On position, and no more thrown chains.I can see giving them a pass on 1, maybe 2, of these issues, but 5...
Bought a hybrid bike last weekend from the Bike Sop at Del Sur. Great customer service! Jason was very courteous and helpful. He answered all my questions and let me test ride the bike without asking for my DL and CC like other shops. I appreciated that. Jason adjusted the gears and checked everything out before helping me load the bike into my car. I live in San Marcos...sure there are some local bike shops near me but I would rather make the trip to this shop for the excellent customer service alone. They seem to have a good and capable service department as well. I highly recommend this shop for all your biking needs.
Great customer service...cant say enough about how awesome these guys are. Always warm and welcoming, always knowledgeable. My last visit I needed a small speciality screw over the weekend that I couldnt find anywhere else (needed to complete a maintenance job).I called the shop and they told me although this screw is typically not in stock, theyll go through used parts to try to salvage a matching screw for me...How awesome is that!I showed up 30min later, brought my broken screw for matching and it took Eddie 5min to find me a perfect match. And that wasnt the best thing out if this story...when I was getting ready to pay, Eddie said, no charge, its a small part, its on us.Now thats customer service, thats making friends and great impression. Im certainly coming back to Del Sur bike shop for all my future bike needs.
Very helpful employees! I took my stationary bike to them to fix the bottom bracket and they took it off even though it was very stuck and recommended better practices and where I could get a replacement and the tools so I could repair it myself later. Would definitely go there again for bike stuff.
Always helpful. Excellent selection of bikes, outstanding service. This is why you select a neighborhood bike shop... excellent service.
Nice shop, nice employees. The selection was lacking a little though
They have great service and a very knowledgeable staff. I always take my bike here for service and parts.
Great service! I went for a new back wheel, and they had it ready in less than a week. I waited more than a month at a different shop in Escondido for the same part. I’m very happy with them, their super friendly and knowledgeable. I’d recommend this shop to anyone wanting a good service, or parts for their bike. 🤙🏽
Employees here are dismissive and discriminatory. When I walked into the bike shop, there were two employees behind the counter. One completely ignored me. The other one grunted a hello and turned back to his computer. I tried to ask him questions about the product I wanted. He acted like I was bothering him and continued to look at his computer. He barely responded to my questions. He never came over to help me. He stayed behind the counter.A few minutes later, another customer walked in and this same person became animated and conversational. He came out behind the counter for the first time and engaged with the other customer while completely ignoring me. The other employee had still not acknowledged me at all. This was a very clear instance of discrimination. I will never return.
Great service and friendly employees. Theyre always willing to help you out or give you advice. These arent the kind of bikes you can get at Target. Theyre much higher quality, and the prices reflect that.
Omg! Loved it! Excellent customer service honest straight forward great choices in bikes.. He listened to me and didnt try to sell me something I didnt want. If I could give it 10 I would!
Good folks. Did not try to up sell anything. Just fixed the pr0blem.
Poor Customer relations: impatient, rude, cynical and prickly attitudes. Very limited brand selection of bikes. Quoted part availability six months out for simple parts (kick stand, gear sets). Not recommended.
Poor customer service. We were ignored for over 10 minutes and it took a day to get a service that wouldnt take over 15 minutes. We didnt even get a call back when the service was done. We had to call and ask if our bike was ready and get it back.
Quick and friendly service! Great prices too. I came with a flat tire and thinking I needed a tune up. The employee who helped me let me know that my bike was in good condition and I only needed my tire fixed. I appreciated their honesty!
Very cool. High quality work. Do extra things to ensure ridability. Good customer service. Competitive prices.
Love this place!! Can’t save enough good stuff about the shop and the people who here . I ride my bike a lot and unfortunately get flat tires but I can always count on the guys to repair it for me .
Great bike shop! I went in to buy a basket for my Liv bike and wound up buying a Townie Electra! I love my new mint green Townie. The staff was so helpful and accommodating...and patient with me when I changed my mind twice about my trading in my Liv. This shop has a friendly, neighborhood vibe, a knowledgable staff, a full service repair counter and a great selection of bikes, baskets and parts.
Shop employee wouldn’t put a mask on even when I asked him to. I don’t feel comfortable coming back here as long as COVID is around. Extremely disappointing to not be able to trust my LBS.
Oh boy. What can’t be said about these guys? They say a bike shop is worth a thousand words. Well, let me give a thousand synonyms for fantastic.Super knowledgeable, trustworthy, didn’t bat an eyelash at our gnarly mud-crusted Yetis after we demo-ed the bikes over a 24 hour period.Very laid-back, easy going, friendly and great on customer service.
Was quite disappointed. I brought in a bmx race bike to get the grips and bottom bracket replaced. I asked them to look over all the bearings and make it rideable since it sat for a couple of years. It took two months for them to find a euro bottom bracket, which is fine, I didnt mind the wait, but I was surprised because they are very common and readily available. When I got my bike back, the new grips I had them put on were scratched up, the headset was so loose that I could rattle the handlebars back and forth, the chain wasnt tensioned properly, the tires were inflated to less than 20psi, and after a short ride I found that the cranks and bottom bracket had become very loose, and one of the cranks was nearly off the spindle. Very dangerous. After looking at the grease that seeped out of the bottom bracket, I dont think they even replaced the bearings. If they did, then they didnt clean it first. Very black, dirty grease was mixed in with the new. I think they may have attempted to pack the old bearings with grease, but wont know for sure until I take it all apart and do it myself. I see that they have exceptionally good reviews overall, so Im hoping that this was just a fluke. That reputation is the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1.
Sure it’s a good place. Why they have huge piles of cardboard boxes piled up in plain public view, have no idea. But it looks ghetto.
This shop is very expensive. Even small things cost a lot. Customer service is also not good. It seems they are very rude people.
Excellent service. Just went in for a inertube repair and was out of there in like 30 minutes tops.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Not a big markup for parts, very nice not to have to order blindly on the Internet.Bring older working parts to the head mechanic and he / they will donate to local underprivileged children.I love going to this shop!
Chris is always helpful and knowledgeable about Mountain biking and Road biking. I am looking for new tires for my mountain bike. He took the time to explain which tires I needed for my application of riding and experience level. Also showed me what work better and why. Thank you Chris for your help!!
We had 2 of our mountain bikes serviced during this quarantine and they are working great. Thank you.
Great local bike shop with excellent service and knowledgeable mechanics! My friend was in from out of town and wanted to get in some mountain biking. These guys were able to rent him a really nice bike that day and get it all set up for him. We got in some really good trail riding that day thanks to them.About a week later I brought in my 29er for a brake adjustment. They did an excellent job on the brakes and even took the time to show me how to use a chain break tool and master link for on trail chain repairs.Highly recommended if youre in the area and looking for good mountain bike rental or high-quality repairs!
I’ve been to both the Del Sur and Poway locations. Mostly odds and ends, tubes, valve stems, co2, etc. Service department is awesome and helped me with a personal build I was working on. Worked with me and helped figure out a unique fit issue with a front derailleur. Everyone I’ve encountered in the shop has been so friendly and willing to help.
Very nice and quick service on a hot Sunday afternoon.
What an awesome bike shop! They carry my favorite brand of Niner Bikes and have excellent customer service. All of the associates are very knowledgeable and cool guys. Too notch bikes, great pricing and they really take care of you. Hard combination to beat. Highly recommended!
This bike shop is so good I had to write a review on Yelp and on Google. The entire staff from Luis, Keith and Tony are so easy so work with and communication is on point. If there is one thing that really irritates me, its people that dont respond to emails or simply dont respond. Ive dealt with many bike shops and this is definitely one of the best in SD county. I live in SEH and even though there are shops within 2-3 miles of where I live, Id rather make the longer trip to a shop that actually cares about its customers and follows through. Keep it up guys!
Ask for a quick break repair and they will not even look at bike for two weeksIt’s ok for my child to use a bike with break problems for two weeksGreat customer serviceAlso rude!!!
This shop is friendly and knowledge. Very limited road bike selection.
Great customer service! Will definitely be a return customer
The staff is really friendly and laid back, they are also able to help with any questions
I had some trouble with a newer bike part that these guys helped me repair on two different occassions(this about 9 months ago). Eventually they noticed how much I was dealing with manufacture, so they took things into their own hands, got me a better part, and fixed the problem saving me a lot of time. Things have been great because of that customer care.
They scammed me and charged me 50 dollars for a tubeless setup with no Sealant. Unless I get a refund or they fix this I agree
I just wanted to say this shop has the best service hands down! I called a lot of shops looking for a specific bike and received no help or answers, I called this shop and they gave me answers right away and said they can have the bike in two or three days and that was perfect timing for the weekend! When I went to go pick it up, I found out they drove down to Santa Ana on a Friday to pick it up for me so I would have it in the time frame they quoted me! They also helped me make an informed decision to make sure the bike was right for me and having this being my first 29er, Im glad he talked me into a smaller frame cause this bike is huge. I will also be coming back for a high end trail bike, they have won my business. The shop is also very clean and organized.
Lots of choice and friendly customer service
I highly recommend going to the Bike Shop at Del Sur. Louie did a phenomenal job in fitting my family with the exact bicycles we needed. He didnt try to oversell us. We didnt realize how much fun we could have buying bikes!! Thanks Louie!
Fantastic service! The staff is friendly and helpful. I will only shop here for any related products/services.
The Staff at The Bike Shop at Del Sur are friendly, experienced, and approachable. I am not knowledgable about bikes, and was concerned about the rear brakes of a bike that I bought off CraigsList. I brought the bike to their shop, where they took a look, made an adjustment, and explained what they did. They gave the entire bike a “look/see” and allayed my fears that it would fall apart when my son rode it to school. I appreciate that they didn’t make me feel like an idiot for not knowing the brake mechanics of a boy’s bike.A few weeks later, some boys at school were horsing around with the bike, and messed up that same rear brake. School got involved and asked the Bike Shop if they would consider a gift of time and expertise in fixing the bike to support the boys’ conflict resolution and communication skills. Bike Shop generously agreed- the boys worked through the incident and are now buddies, and my son’s bike is back in great working order. So thankful for the generosity and community support graciously given here.
Rented a womens bike from there and was very happy with their customer service. Fantastic people and service. Go check them out!
Great local bike store and great staff!
Nice people. Very knowledgeable about bikes
What a great shop, changed my tire and fixed my brakes in no time! Very reasonable, and the guys were super nice!
They had exactly what I needed. Very professional
Great place, great selection, and it is a local small business. Thank you to the guys working today, needed a little assistance with a rear wheel assembly. I also picked out a new bike, just waiting on santa
Love the shop specially the service Quinn was a great help very knowledgeable and professional. 5 stars service
These people are totally awesome.
The shop is really helpful and would really recommend this place because of good staff, good service, and a good quality fix
Staff seems friendly, like a lot of bike shops I visited. Looked to make a purchase or two, this being a local place, I wanted to check things out. With so many models and types we didnt know what to get. Being for teenagers, I am willing to let them see for themselves what they like. I shouldnt have been surprised by how they do things when I seen workers (two different days) follow us outside when taking a bike outside the door to move more. The reason for the surprise and one star? The recent and last time going, one of my kids needed to see if a bike would work for him. I asked if a helmet was available. The worker said no, just be careful. Okay. So I ask about taking the bike out so it they can ride it and not just outside the door. They said they dont do that, The bike would be used(if they allowed that). I see his point. I guess I was just spoiled by all the other places I went to when looking for a bike for myself. Those places that wanted you to take the bike out before making a purchase. Those that knew you wouldnt know if a bike worked for you unless you actually went more than outside the door without a helmet and them standing outside the door watching you. Whats something is it wasnt just that bike shop (one I really miss) that had you take a potential bike out. There was also a major chain, REI in that same place (they had a bike section with staff that just works on bikes) that allowed you to test the bikes. Both of the places Im referring to, that ALLOW you to see if an EXPENSIVE bike works for you, even provided helmets. They had helmets for customers to use when testing bikes. One of the times, one of the expensive road bikes didnt have pedals on it. The workers actually put pedals on and checked that it was safe for me to take it out. Talk about great customer service.I found it strange and different from what Im used to so I leave and go to another bike shop. I ask the worker if people are allowed to take bikes out and see if they work for them. Its almost like he laughed at me for even asking that. Seriously. He said they want people to take them out. I told him what happened at the other bike shop and thats why I asked. He said he wouldnt even purchase a bike if he couldnt take it out first. I agree 100% with that. And with the Bike Shop at Del Sur NOT ALLOWING that, makes it easy to pass on major purchases with them for those Bike Shops that do allow it.
Great service at a fair price. Easy going and friendly staff.
Tony saw me scratching my head and came over to bail me out of my ‘which tube’ dilemma.
Staff there is great, they know their stuff about bikes. There are 4 things you can come here for 1) bikes 2) bike equipment and accessories 3) bike help and repair 4) epic memes
Great Service! Had just what I needed.
Loocking forward to the awesome grand opening on April 9th
Great friendly service and proper rental bikes.
Poway Bicycle is awesome, and Im sure The Bike Shop at Del Sur will be even better
