Dan the man, was very helpful with our first experience with a E bikes. His wife was also experienced with everything and friendly.We will definitely be back for another enjoyably ride.

Marlene and Dan run a tight ship! My husband and I had such a great time cruising around San Diego. $15 a day per bike was a great price as well! Within the two days we put on about 50 miles to those bikes! We had SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!! Highly recommend!

Awful. Just awful. I should have known it was going to be an issue when we asked the simple question “are you open?” was met with incredible attitude. Then we couldn’t even finish a sentence without being cut off. She kept asking me for clarification on our rental but wouldn’t even let me answer. What a horrible person. Apparently she didn’t want our money. I am still shook at how horrible she treated us. Stay away!

Easy 5Stars! Im very glad I found Boardwalk Electric Bikes in the Promenade on Mission Blvd. This is the most friendly and affordable bike shop. Dan (the owner) and his assistant were very helpful. They do business like it should be done... I love that.

The individual trying to assist me was a little crazy. Would not let me ask a question and told me to just read the contract. BTW - my question had nothing to do with the contract. It was a disturbing experience.

We went to Boardwalk Electric Rides so I could rent an eBike from them since we decided we were going to venture north into La Jolla. I normally bring visiting family members there to rent beach cruisers.I took out one of their new Wave Electric Bikes and I have to say it was pretty cool! Even though I had the E power turned off much of the time, when I needed it, it was quick to react and easy to ride. It really was a lot of fun!The staff is always so friendly and informative. They were definitely conscientious of Health and Safety in regards to COVID, so that was comforting.Cool thing was that while I was out on the eBike, I had them repair the chain on my own beach cruiser and by the time we got back, my bike was ready to go. Its nice to know they also do bike repair and sales.I will definitely continue to go back to these guys and will always recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable Bike and beach supply rental and sales place.

Found this place by using a Groupon. Wasnt sure what to expect. We had been in the area and saw lots of bike rental places and some seriously trashed bikes. But we gave Boardwalk a try and we were not disappointed!! We paid the upgrade fee for e bikes. Totally worth every penny!! My wife and three boys (17, 15 and 12) had an amazing time. The bikes were in excellent condition and we didnt have any issues. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Totally recommend if youre in the San Diego area.

The bikes are all nice, and theres a large variety so its good for all ages and groups. Service is wonderful, the whole place is very friendly and cool. Im not sure how other prices compare, but $15 a day and $10 every additional day doesnt seem too bad to me. There are some sick fat tire and electric bikes too, which Id love to try sometime. I would definitely recommend this place!

Very impressed by this place. They have just about everything in the bike/scooter world. The guy (owner?) took time talking to us about the different things they had to rent that my family and I might consider. They seemed to have a much larger variety of rental items than they had on their website. My kids and I had a great time. Thank you! I would definitely make this my go-to place on our next trip.

To be a place of business you expect everyone who works or associate themselves with that particular company to embody respect because everything you do reflects upon that business or company. Well, today, having a great day at the beach, I thought I would get great service at this particular place, but that was not case. I was greeted with disrespect from a female employee upon my arrival. I was extremely surprised to get such a negative comment from a place of business. AllI wanted was a bike or scooter to explore the quintessence of of Pacific Beach. San Diego normally has convivial and jovial people when you normally enter a business, but What I got, was far from that. If you’re someone who lives by these 3 pillars: respect, trust, and loyalty, I would not waste time with a company like this. At the end of the day, it’s about them being a “trusted Advisor,” but the dialogue I had with the female was something similar to a street-interaction. There are plenty of bike shops and scooters that want service here, don’t waste it with people like this.

This place was amazing to us! We wanted to take our 9 month old on his first bike ride. They had all necessary sfatey equipment and baby trailers to make it happen. We called ahead to reserve the equipment and they even remembered exactly who we were. We cut it close on our return time but they were still extremely friendly and professional, taking care of everything for us so we could simply head home after a long day cruising the boardwalk.

The owner and his wife were beyond accommodating and the prices were very reasonable peak season esp.. I would NOT use another rental place other that this one. You will not find a better one! AMAZING EXPERIENCE 10 STARS- rented again about 3 weeks ago and was greeted by first name- this place really knows how to run bike business on the beach.

We rented 4 electric bikes today. The one my son rode did not work on the electric assist. This was his first time riding one and wanted to test it out to see if he liked them. When we returned the bikes and told them that his didn’t work at all and he had to peddle the whole time without the electric assist they did not offer to give a discount at all. The comment from the guy working there was that he didn’t give discounts. When pressed about it he told the other lady working there that he didn’t give discounts but it was up to her if she wanted to and she said no. Very strange way to terser repeat customers. We will no longer be repeat customers.

Bikes were in amazing shape, very friendly & informative staff. I highly recommend using them for your rentals. Have everything to acomidate children. Felt totally safe pulling my two kids behind me riding around the paths.

This is the BEST bike shop on the Boardwalk, hands down. It is clear Dan takes pride in making sure every bike is well maintained, clean and safe. The quality of bikes and service is un-matched. Dan and his wife are super friendly and always willing to give recommendations for best spots in town. Boardwalk Electric Rides is one of my absolutey favorite parts of San Diego. Dan and his wife and are an amazing duo- friendly, great people and high quality rentals. You cant ask for me. 10 ++++++ STARS!

Owner-run, knowlegeable, and personable. Many electric rides to choose from. We rented electric skateboards, 2 for $50/all day! Great experience, shop is tucked away, but busy and worth the find.

Do this! Rent Ebikes! Best thing ever! We dod a daily rental. Did boardwalks on OB and PB did assist pedal all day until end of day and just coasted in. Worth 10 times the price and its a great family owned business.

Worst rental experience, ever. The charge on my scooter only lasted 45 minutes, so me and my 65 year old father had to walk our scooters back to the rental place. No one answered our call when we tried to call for help, and were met with disrespect when we finally arrived to return our rentals. Highly recommend the LimeBike Ap instead.... The owner of this place is a douchebag.
