It only took one visit to know that I found my new barber. The shop is clean & those that work there are respectful. They make everyone feel welcome. Pony is not only a good barber. He works fast!! What use to take 45 minutes noe takes 15. Ill come back to this shop no matter where I live in So Cal. Keep up the food work fellas!!

What can I say? Pony was there and couldnt have been more friendly, polite and professional to me. The trim was just what I needed and Pony made it a stress free experience. We shot the sh*t for a bit and I wish I could rate this place higher. Do yourself a favor, get your next cut at Ponys here in PQ!

My boyfriend went in for a a haircut today by a red-headed woman who works there. She completely messed up his hair and then blamed it on his HAIR. Its pretty laughable really. How unprofessional could you possibly be? Just apologize for your screw up and fix it. Thats it.Anywho, he ended up getting it fixed by someone else who worked there which was a good way to make up for the mistake. However, it still came out unacceptable since the red-headed woman messed it up pretty bad.Who blames a bad haircut on a client? The unprofessionalism should be enough to not get a haircut here. Definitely don’t recommend.

It would be helpful if the actual business hours and days open or closed would be accessible online. It said here that it was open but when I drove there it was closed.

This place is usually really good, however today upon arrival at 3:25 PM (their sign says they close at 5pm) I was told that he was closing up after the current customer. Make sure to call before going to make sure they will actually be open.

Great haircut! Its a barber shop... no frills, just an affordable, high quality hair cut, at a fair price (oh with nice people). This is definitely my new place. If you want the shoulder massage and push to buy a 100 products, go somewhere else. If you want to walk in and walk out looking great without the hassle, these are your guys.

Been a valued customer of this barbershop shop for over 13 years, when I inquired recently to the reason of the 30% price increase I was only told that “if you don’t like it, go somewhere else”....didn’t appreciate being treated in that matter, so I will look to a change. Under new management the quality of Barbers has gone down, seems like they are friends are the new owner and only know how to use clippers....

Stopped by last night at closing after being turned at my usual barber shop due to their long wait. Pony was nice enough to give me a haircut even though he was in the middle of closing up. He did a great job - very efficient and friendly. Definitely my new spot!

Third time Ive been here. Every time has been great. The staff and clientele are very social. The staff knows how to take care of your hair. Its cash only however its less than half the price of the other places in the area.

Such, an unwelcoming place. No need for a Hello mam, be right with u, the wait time is... Went there with my son no acknowledgement of us sat down and decided to leave. No one said a word. This is a place for who knows who is accepted here. SORRY FOR not seeing the, NO Woman or Kids allowed sign!!! Sad...that manners do not exist here!! Really bad uncomfortable experience. Terrible place to get a haircut. I got a bald fade and the dude was done in less than 10 minutes. After i got out of the shower i realized he had left hairs completely uncut around my ears and on top of my head. Also when i asked if they could line me up with a razor he said he didnt even have one. What kind of mens barber doesnt even have a razor in the building? Probably the worst barber i have ever been to.

My go to barber. Prices went up a bit but still worth it and I always get a reliable haircut here.

These guys are awesome. Love the vibe you get when you walk in, the character of the place, and these prices are unreal. Treat everyone with respect. Military price is 10 dollars. Cant beat that price for the quality. Great service.

Did a fantastic job for much cheaper than salon-style haircut places. Very friendly, and I cant imagine anyone there being racist and rude as a previous review suggests. As of November 2011, the haircuts are $9.25, which is a great deal!

Got a haircut here yesterday by Joe. Hes the older guy in the first chair. He did a damm good job! I got a razor fade and military cut is $10. Thats a great price. I will definitely be coming here again.

Great staff that are very skilled. I go when everytime I need a trim and line up on my beard and always leave satisfied. Results from other barbershops would vary on which barber you had do the work, here I am in good hands regardless of whose chair I sit in.

Moved to the area in September. Had a previous barber for 9 years and am very picky about the barbers. They do a great job. Small place, by very friendly, quality work, very reasonable price, and is very clean. Recommend it!!

Penasquitos Barber Shop is my favorite place to get a haircut in San Diego. The shop has a great atmosphere, with some throwback posters of past artists and rock shows. If you are in the area, you need to check this place out.

Old man cant cut hair. Every time Ive gone he has completely cut it uneven. Its a complete mess. Cant say the same for the other barbers. Dont get hair cut by the old man!

Pony is good, otherwise you get what you pay for. Not much attention to detail or fade, was a step up from a home cut, but in and out in 7 minutes.

Always great cuts, dont expect anything wild but they will always do you right or point you in the right direction.

I have came here twice and they bucherd my hair cut both times. The first time I had an old man cut my hair and I wanted it long in the mid to top section but he cut every thing short. And another time I wanted a low skin faid by an older woman cut all of my hair off except for on the top. Its like Im speaking a different language when I tell them what I want

Asked for a fade and they just shaved the whole sides off. There was no fade at all. I am very displeased as it didnt seem they knew what they were doing and just went along with whatever they wanted to do and were uneducated in the process of how to do it correctly. Reasons I give it 2 stars is it was very cheap.

My son and I visit this barbershop at least once a month. They keep us looking sharp. Regular haircuts are $11.
