I spend over $10,000 with this company for my home Heating and A/C unit. They provided a written warranty of 10 year for parts and 1 year for labor, contract good until August 2022. My A/C until quit working last week (September 13, 2021) called and scheduled a diagnostic for a week later. When they showed up they informed us the cost for the repair would be over $800 for a bad Capacitor that cost $14.95 at Amazon and that our A/C unit was out of warranty due to that it wasn’t previously serviced. I asked them for a copy in the contract where it clearly lists that the A/C needs to be serviced regularly which they could not provide. We kept all original purchase receipts and paperwork from the first day we hired them for the service, looked and searched for any written instructions on how to keep up with A/C system and found none. We are very upset Guthrie and Sons Heating and A/C clearly aren’t the right company to do business with. We feel our system was never in any way protected as Guthrie and Sons heating and A/C failed to honor any written warranty. I hope anyone searching for a A/C company reads my story and hope our situation help you determine your decision to use them. I’m not a happy customer and would never recommend them for any service.BTW I am a certified mechanic and work on automotive A/C units. They are no instructions to routinely service to A/C or heating systems on any vehicles, because they’re just isn’t. Home A/C units are built very similar to automotive they do mot require any service unless they fail or Freon leaks out. Just like your fridge or A/C wall unit. They could not provide of the routine services for home A/C unit required because there just isnt any. They are a bunch of crooks and would not recommend anyone use them.I’ll provide a photo copy of the contract

Absolutely love Guthrie & Sons and highly recommend them! My experience with them put me at ease, they are very communicative, professional, and respond to every question that I had/have. I love that they come out every 6 months and replace my air filter and any time that I have a question about my system, they get back to me right away! When they installed my new AC and Heating system, they were amazing, even taking out the garbage left by the previous company. They walked me through every step and made sure that I knew how to use the system before leaving. Hands down love my new AC and Heater, quite, efficient, saves me money and I have no worries.

2 years ago I was bullied by this company to remove my negative review. I tried to move on since then, however after spending $25k on 2 new AC units with them, I continue to have issues with both units that I purchased in 2017, making them 4 years old.I had an issue with one of the units about 2 years ago and asked them to fix it. They claimed it wasnt their problem. I had a 3rd party confirm it was a bad install, wrote a bad review and THEN they agreed to fix it after calling me 10x to remove my bad Yelp review.Here I am again and now my other AC unit installed at the same time is having the same issue the other unit did. Again, I called Guthrie and sons who refuse to be accountable for their install, even after again having a 3rd party confirm they should be responsible.Please dont be deceived by the good rating as Im sure Im not the only person they have done this to. If you write a bad review, you will get a phone call and ask you to remove it. I also filed a complaint with the BBB

I have been using Guthrie & Sons for years and have never been disappointed. When my HVAC system was first installed, they completed it in the time they said they would and Ive been using their maintenance service ever since. Today they replaced a thermostat and explained the process. Excellent crew and clean and respectful.

I’ve been using Guthrie&Sons for semi-annual HVAC maintenance for the last two years now. My service technician was Zack. He does an excellent job. Prompt, courteous, very knowledgeable, and very honest. A pleasure to do business with. Their prices are very reasonable. The office staff is very cordial and easy to work with. This is a very well run company. I will continue to use them.

The technician was very good - professional and friendly.

From the beginning there were problems and a failure to accomplish the project correctly. This led to numerous visits to correct their deficiencies and frankly it was due to their laziness and stupidity. The management team at Guthrie failed miserably and only made excuses. I will say their staff were always friendly and courteous.

From the estimate to the installation, i could not be more happier. The estimator/owner came out and exuded confidence about solving our problem. Several other vendors offered solutions of putting a heater on the roof, while others suggested putting a heater in the house - that would take up some of the closet space. Not only did they provide a viable and less intrusive solution, but the PRICE WAS RIGHT! Please look no further and get an estimate from Mr. Guthrie; he will not disappoint.Oh and one more thing... They removed an old air conditioner from the roof for FREE! These folks far exceeded my expectations!

Guthrie and sons were recommended to me by my grandson. He has use them for repairs and maintenance. The heating system stopped working (25+ yrs old). I called and Joe (wearing a mask and paper boots) came out to check out the problem. He came back and installed a new system, Joe was polite, placed canvas down to protect my floors and vacuumed the area when finished. We had our entire duct system replaced and new UV and i-wave filtering system installed. The installation crew was really great. They were knowledgeable, and went over things in detail--asking about any options in terms of placement of vents, etc. They worked in a very clean and organized manner, and remove not only the old ducts, but all sorts of trash that had accumulated in the crawl space over the years. I give them my highest recommendation.

Zach, our technician, was excellent. He kept us informed as to what he was doing. He showed my husband how to replace the air filter since it wasnt very dirty this time. We had service at the end of the season last time.Zach even showed us how to install a new thermostat so we didnt have to pay extra for him to install it. Then, Zach went above and beyond to help us cut back some ivy that had gotten out of control in our jade plants.We have used Guthrie & Sons since at least 2016 and have always had great service. We will continue to use them too.

Our Furnace went out December. Having worked with Guthrie & Sons before, we called them and they sent Zach out right away. He did a great job diagnosing the problem, and showing us (with pictures) what we would be dealing with down the line. We wanted to replace our out of date ac unit anyway. Zach explained what the different levels offered were, and what financing was available. He did not try to pressure or upsell us. The next week, Phil came and installed everything, including a new thermostat. He did a great job installing the new systems, and was very thorough in putting things back the way he found them. He made sure to answer all our questions.

Always professional and fair prices. Even during the pandemic, the employees were polite, clean and wore masks. The employees are always very knowledgeable and explain what they do and show you what they are replacing or repairing. I have used them several times now and have been satisfied every visit. Zach and his partner Jeff arrived early and assessed the issue with my Rheem A/C after a few tests. They were both friendly and professional and very familiar with knowing what needed to be done and how to do it.My A/C was not turning on. In the middle of a heat wave, my kids schooling at home and my wife working remotely, I had contacted another service company to come out sooner. They were not contracted with Rheem but another brand I never heard of. After two hours, they finally told me that the part I needed was no longer available. They could not get my A/C working and offered to install a new system for thousands of dollars!Zach and Jeff had my A/C working in less than 30 minutes! Came out to repair our 25+ year old heating system and found the problems are with a few of the control boxes and gave use a estimate of the repairs and we asked about a new system and he was fantastic with the explanation of everything and gave us a great price on the unit and the installation plus how fast we could get the new one installed and so we decided to replace the unit with a new one that he recommended.

I found Guthrie and Sons through an internet search because I needed someone to fix a wall heater in an apartment I rent out. They scheduled an appointment quickly, came on time, and met with the tenant. While still there the technician called and said I have good news. He reported that he found a simple problem with the heater, but it required someone with expertise to know about an obscure switch that had been accidentally turned off. I was very happy that I did not have to replace the whole heater. But when he said it was so simple he was not even going to charge me for the visit, I almost dropped my phone! I didnt think that kind of relationship-building with businesses happened anymore. He explained they are a family-owned company, and their reputation is important. My A/c went out during this heat wave. They “squeezed” me in as I had other crisis going on. Everyone on the phone was very kind and understanding. Technician (Zachery) was on time, courteous and professional. The AC problem was quickly diagnosed as a clogged drain that caused the system shutdown. Drain was cleared and service restored.
