Ideal dental is the best!. No forced treatment plan. X-ray and ordinary cleaning done within few minutes.

Love the atmosphere very clean and pleasant. The doctor and dental assistant were so kind and efficient and made me feel welcome! Front desk was not as helpful but for sure would come back :)!

Ideal Dental is amazing. The whole staff was efficient,Thorough, and friendly. Stephanie was so gentle, and professional. She did a great job. She gave me water, and had a friendly conversation that put me at ease in the dentist chair. Her little giggle was sweet as she listened to me. The dentist was professional, gentle, and answered all my questions. He was not pushy at all. He did a great job cleaning my teeth, and filling my cavity. He didn’t hurt me at all. He was so quick. I had an amazing experience with Ideal. At first I was scared to try a new dentist thankfully from the beginning I was greeted with happy people who welcomed me and made me feel comfortable with my choice. Sonia was very friendly, attentive, warm and caring. For a quick minute I was concerned about Dr. Shumer because he seemed dry, not talkative, but after a while he became friendlier and caring. The best part is they are open on Saturdays. I will be getting my braces in a week and am super excited to continue visiting this office. I highly recommend Ideal Dental.

I have been with Ideal Dental for a few years. My past experiences overall were positive. However, it changed when I went there for an appointment recently. My appointment was at 10am and I got there 10minutes earlier as they suggested. The doctors were busy and I was kept waiting, so the routine teeth cleaning took about 80 minutes. Afterwards, I was told that I missed a previous appointment and need pay a $50 penalty. They said that they called me and left a message. So check your answer machine frequently to make sure that you dont miss an important message from Ideal Dental. Otherwise it will cost you $50.

Not a good experience with wisdom teeth removal originally. But the surgeon called me personally and discussed my concerns and clarified things. Very thoughtful staff, especially the surgeon who seems to really care about his patients.

Didnt even wait till the area was numb before the tooth was pulled. No bed side manner from the oral surgeon or the tech. The office staff was great though.

I am 26 weeks pregnant and Dr. Schuchart and his assistants made me feel comfortable and we’re able to take 3D pictures of my teeth without getting an X-ray. My cleaning was quick and easy and I was out of there in no time. Friendly staff, great place!

Ideal Dental of Road Runner is great. The entire office staff is very nice and helpful. The dental hygienist was great and made me feel very comfortable. Dr Schuchart is such a nice guy and is very thorough. I had a really bad tooth, that I thought could never be pulled and Dr Schuchart extracted it and he made the procedure painless. So, I came back and learned I needed two root canals and two crowns and had both done in the same day. I used to hate going to the dentist, so I have reaped the problems from not going to the dentist for years. However, I love this dentist and the office and I know they are going to help me restore things I’ve neglected for so long. 5 stars easily

By far the best dentist I’ve ever been to! Everything is explained to you on a screen with all the images and x rays taken upon arrival! The whole staff from the assistants to the dentist are all respectable and polite! Very cautious of when your hurting during any operation! Relieves dentist phobia knowing they are gentle. Absolutely loved Ideal Dental! When I walked in I was greeted by Melissa who was super friendly and I had a nice time talking with her. I ended up having to get some fillings by Dr. Mills and and John. Dr. Mills updated me the entire time about what he was doing and made sure I was comfortable as well. Melissa also made me aware of some services that I would be able to get because of the fillings, which was super awesome and she also double checked my insurance to see if it would cover a night guard, they went above and beyond at Ideal Dental. I even received a voice mail front Dr. Mills later that night to see how I was doing after getting the procedure. Looking forward to my next appointment there.

Awesome experience! I went in only to schedule a consult as a new patient, but was able to be seen right away for what I needed to be done. The staff was very nice and made it comfortable for me. Dr. Mills was very helpful and answered all of my questions. He even called me personally the very next morning to make sure I was doing well after my procedure. Really quick despite the extra CoVid precautions.Seemed super knowledgable but best of all didnt seem like they were pushing any unnecessary treatments.

I have always been a little scared to come to the dentist. But Dr Mills made me feel better about coming. He was very educational. Which helped. I didnt have insurance, but they offered a great in house discount plan called metro care, helped with the dental work that I needed. I was also able to get my wisdom removed in the office, did not have to be referred out. All in all its a good place to be! Warm friendly smiles and professionalism!

They offer free whitening for life and inform you of charges (if any) throughout your appointment. This the best staff Ive come across. They really go above and beyond for you. Love the new doctor here at Ideal Dental! Dr Long is very informative and really broke down the dental terminology for me. Everyone was super nice and they verified my insurance with no issues at all! They are even premier providers for my insurance, making it so I get a large discount on top of what my insurance will cover, making things very affordable for me! I went in for my dental cleaning today. I had scheduled last week and was told that they had confirmed my insurance and that everything was good to go. When I got there, I was taken into an exam room and the assistant started taking radiographs. When she had almost finished, the receptionist came in and told my insurance had expired. I told her that it hadnt. Instead of offering to call again, she told me to contact my HR department at my work. I had to call my insurance company, spend 15 minutes on hold, then give the receptionist my phone so that she could talk to them, in order to prove that my insurance had not expired. The whole experience was humiliating for me and extremely unprofessional on their part. I have never had this experience anywhere else. Even though the dental assistant and dentist were great, I will likely not be returning based on this experience.

I had heard on the radio that with my insurance Ideal Dental did teeth whitening at no cost to the patient. They were able to see me just a few days after I first called them, and by the time I walked out of there I had whiter teeth and didnt have to pay a dime.Their staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I was offered water while I waited for the doctor and a blanket while I was letting the whitening treatment process.My encounter with the doctor was pleasant and he gave me the news that I didnt want to hear -- I need to have wisdom teeth removed :( I will be using their referral for an oral surgeon.I cant say Im excited to go back because, well, no one likes going to the dentist, BUT I will return to this office...next week for a filling, to be exact 😩

Dr. Schuchart is the very best !! He made the process of getting a root canal virtually pain free. He took great care to ensure the experience was as pleasant as possible. The billing process was super easy and very very fair pricing. Everyone in the office is super friendly and helpful. They have some appointment times on Saturday which is nice if you are working. I had pain during the night and before the office was opened I received a phone call and 2 emails offering immediate assistance. Dr. Schuchart takes his time and you never feel he is rushing to get to the next patient. You can tell everyone at the office is working to make sure you have a great experience. Helpful, Friendly, Kind, patient, knowledgeable dentist - Dr. Schuchart, fair pricing, able to schedule appointments quickly and excellent after hours help for emergency pain. I am happy I switched to this office.

If I could choose a 100 stars I totally would. This was my first time at the dentist EVER because I have such a phobia of the dentist. Great doctor and excellent staff. They made me feel extremely comfortable and very welcome. Being military its hard to have to start out with new doctors but he is definitely the best choice here in San Antonio!
