Im a wedding photographer, and one of the most beautiful weddings Ive ever gotten to photograph was at this venue. I cant recommend it enough to anybody considering getting married here! There was plenty of shade in the outdoor area during the afternoon for portraits, and the interior of the venue offered a classy atmosphere for the reception. I loved working here and hope to be back soon!

Our wedding reception was here (in the great room on the first floor + patio) and it was stunning! Guests loved having the indoor/outdoor option, especially during the pandemic. Jack Guenther was so professional and during COVID were very accommodating with our payments. We would without a doubt have an event here again - it is stylish, professional, and just a top notch location for anyones event in San Antonio.

The Embellished Event Planning team got the pleasure of working a recent wedding on March 14th, at the Jack Guenther Pavilion at The Briscoe. Roxana was great at responding to vendor emails and questions, and was very helpful during the entire planning process. The venue was impeccable and ready to go on the day of the event. Everything looked stunning! Highly recommend The Briscoe for your next event.

Just go walk through and look at the statues- no fee. Well maintained, beautiful art, and pretty good descriptions about the history of the figures depicted.

The location is good despite the toilets being all the way up on the second/third floor and only accesible using an elevator. Unfortunately some staff members were very rude to some of the guests. I witnessed the brother of the groom being kicked out for no significant incident, it was terrible to watch. Ive never seen something like this happen at a wedding. If you are considering this venue for your wedding, think twice as no location is worth your guest being disrespected.

Be aware of the 22% commission on food and 27% commission that this venue charges caterers. The employees were nice, attentive and professional, but this commission is not negotiable.UPDATE: An assistant manager called us back and offered to negotiate these commission costs (possibly after reading this review). So, perhaps they are negotiable, but it seems shady to have to haggle down fees that they wont even tell you exist unless you explicitly ask.

If there was a 0 Starts review, I would give them that.‼️ I would absolutely never recommend the Jack Guenther Pavilion at the Briscoe to ANYONE. 👎🏽🚧First off we stressed our budget to them and they agreed to “work with us” to make our dream wedding come true.We told the sales rep. That we wanted to save on money and provide all our own alcohol. He asked his boss and she said “oh yes, we don’t normally but for you guys to be happy and have your wedding here with us. I’ll allow it but only if you hire my friend to serve it.”They also mentioned they had a preferred catering list we would have to choose from. That if we didn’t choose from the list then we have a 22% charge. So we started calling the catering teams off the list.The top “preferred vendor” wanted to charge us $50 a plate!!!! Am I Kate Middleton?? Do I look like I can afford $50 a person??The last time I check “preferred” means you like them most. “Exclusive“ should have been the right term to use. If you pushing me to choose one or charge me more...So she so graciously brought it down to $32 a person but we HAD to use them for bartending services and they wouldn’t serve past 9 p.m.So we looked at the other catering companies on the list. Although the prices were better ($30-35) they were still incredibly high. Not to mention, they would charge us the 22% fee from the venue.The “friend” bartending service quoted us $3,000 with you guessed it!!! A 27% fee from the venue!! This is not even including us needing to provide the alcohol!!!!!Then their preferred decoration company quoted us $62,000!!!!Ummmm hello that’s more than most peoples income.We brought all this up to the Jack Guenther Pavilion team and they said they understood and wanted to “help us out” so they lowered the fees from 22% to 20% for food and from 27% to 25% for alcohol.Gee thanks for saving us $20. 🙄After regrouping and looking into another venue we decided to cancel with Jack Guenther. They emailed us agreeing to give us the full deposit back and now, after two weeks, they said they would only give us 50% back!!!! 😒😡“During my vacation, my request for your refund was questioned by our executives, and it was their final decision. It is out of my hands.” -Sales Rep.I’m so annoyed and have never faced so much disappointment and frustration. This place promises one thing and then does another!! This place is sneaky and snake-like!!!!I pray no one else EVER has to go through such a nightmare of planning!!!!Here you are trying to enjoy getting married to your best friend and then these snakes come and try and take advantage of your celebration.

We are absolutely proud and excited to share that our wedding on June 23, 2013 at the Briscoe was more amazing than we could have ever imagined, wished for or planned in a million years! From the moment we walked into the open house and met Slyvia, we knew this was it. Our dream came true two weeks ago yesterday and we are still reeling at how beautiful the ceremony was on the pavilion, not to mention the gorgeous scenery inside and outside of the building. The entire day was absolutely photo ready! I can go on all day about our reception and the many ways it was as equally as amazing as our ceremony. The modern and natural look and lighting inside was perfection. The river outside reminded us why we love San Antonio and the Briscoe team was by our side the entire night. Our family and friends are STILL talking about it being the best and sweetest and most beautiful wedding theyve ever been to.. Two weeks later and the BUZZ is still strong!It is with great pleasure that we share how wonderful our experience was at the Briscoe and will forever treasure this most special occasion. Be prepared to be catered to at this place. All the employees here were extremely helpful to the wedding part and guests. They let me move things around to get the best shots for the Bride and Groom. Thanks!

Was a beautiful venue for a friends wedding.

The Jack Guenther Pavilion is a beautiful venue along the Riverwalk - even when its raining! While we originally hoped our 400+ gala would be inside and outside in the courtyard, the rain moved us inside -- but it was wonderful. The amazing staff at the Briscoe relocated our cocktail competition to the beautiful third floor room, which gave our guests the opportunity to mix and mingle on two floors. Our guests had a wonderful time.The event space is beautiful and the staff works closely with you to ensure that your event is a success. We could not have had such a phenomenal event without the helpful team at the Jack Guenther Pavilion! Thank you Sylvia, Chris, Cielo, and Maribel!

Beautiful exhibit an event space that’s a must visit on the Riverwalk if you’re from out of town or not. Worth checking out at least once if you’ve lived here your whole life and never been.

The facilities are absolutely gorgeous and the staff is truly amazing. They are right by your side during the entire planning process and will do what they can to ensure that your event will exceed your expectations. We got married and had our reception for over 200 guests on July 13, 2013 and it was more than we could have ever imagined! The property is stunning, the architecture is beautiful and the location is ideal! The majority of our wedding guests traveled from out of town and they ALL loved the location and ambiance of the venue. Although our wedding was almost a month ago, we are still receiving praise on the beautiful ceremony and reception.We are so thankful to have had worked with Sylvia, Cielo and Chris and are so pleased to share our wonderful experience with everyone!
