Troy responded immediately on a holiday weekend after receiving my call. He arrived at my house within 30 minutes and found the problem with my air conditioner in 10 minutes. He had everything needed to fix it with him and fixed it right away. He was very personable and professional.

We have had Schmidt out to our homes for about 10 years - always felt they were a very good company and great service - even had them replace a unit in a previous home. That is until today ... Troy (great service person) came out to service our home unit (with our maintenance plan through Schmidt) and found we needed to replace the motor run capacitor. All good - price for the unit online is about $100 (didnt know this at the time). Price we paid for the unit and labor ..... $453 (with our plan discount). It literally took about 5 minutes for him to go to his van, get the part, and then exchange it. That is in the neighborhood of $1400/hr for labor ($350 x 4 - gave them the benefit of it taking 15 minutes to replace the part). I called to ask about this and the Service Manager said there was a fee to get the van out to our house (did I mention we have service contract and this was one of our two checks for the year - the van rolling fee was already covered), his diagnosis fee (did I mention we have service contract and this was one of our two checks for the year - the diagnosis fee was already covered), and then the labor fee (as mentioned before). BEWARE!! Be sure you ask about the fees.

Jason Cruz was the AC service technician that came out to do a standard cleaning on my AC system. He was extremely patient with my questions as he walked me through everything he was doing. He cleaned the outside AC unit all the while talking and petting with my dogs who would not leave him alone. Extremely friendly! I was set up with a 10-12 time frame, and he showed up at 10:10! I was the one who was late, as I was running a quick errand.

Matthew came today for an inspection of my a/c. As always, the company calls when they are 30 minutes away and they send a text with a picture of the worker so you know who is coming to your door. They are always very polite. They email you a detailed report of their findings.

Great communication!!!!! You always know what is going on, from when you call in for service, your appointment set, they call to remind you, call if tech is running late, call when tech is on the way. Once technician is on sight introduces themselves, listens to what your complaint is, they inspect, diagnosed and then they give you several options to choose from being from just the Band-Aid on it to keep it going or to fix it totally and everything in-between.

Kudos to both technicians, Mason Lucas & Juan Rubio!! Not only did they do a great job of installing the new unit, but they did it during a massive down pour. I was very impressed; they did an awesome job of cleaning up, inside and out. No mud tracked through my house. I would recommend they to all my family and friends.

We replaced our 2007 hvac. We met two dealers and chose Schmidt because of cheaper quota and longer warranty. Especially, sales man Ken promised to come on the installation day to tell their technicians what I was concerned. He did come the next day with technician and supervised on their setting up the site. We used new machine for one day. We only need to set 76 degree in the afternoon instead of 72 before. Good machine.

I was very impressed with the communication between the company and the customer. Very punctual and professional service. Jason was very courteous and knowledgeable. I will definitely be using this company in the future.

Jared was an awesome sales representative and very thorough and patiently answered all my questions. Schmidt Mechanical Group, Inc. has professional A/C installers that are experts at what they do and go above and beyond the minimum requirements. Even the City of San Antonio inspector was impressed with the installation job. Jared even took care of filling out the CPS rebate paperwork for the Trane high efficiency A/C unit installed. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs to replace their A/C unit. They even added more attic insulation free of charge as part of installation package. In my opinion all their employees have integrity and take pride in doing their job.

Schmidt Mechanical serviced my air conditioner. It was blowing hot air. I called them today, and a service person came within an hour, which was much faster than I expected. He diagnosed the problem, fixed some wiring and replaced a blown capacitor, and got the AC blowing cool air again. He was professional, knowledgeable, polite, and wore a mask and shoe covers over his boots. I am a repeat customer of Schmidt, because they are honest and have always provided excellent customer service and skilled workmanship. I have an older AC, and their service plans for maintenance are great. As a platinum plan member, my service call fee of $59 was waived, and I simply paid for the repairs today.

This company has always been outstanding from honesty in sales to installation to help with system operation. Everyone associated with the company has always been punctual, courteous, competent and has gone above and beyond what might be expected. I cant say enough good things about Schmidt Mechanical!

Ive been shopping for a new heat pump system for 6 months. Over that time Ive had encounters with and received estimates from many local companies. To be honest, I feel bad for the people that dont do their homework and fall for some of their schpeels!Jared from Schmidt was BY FAR the most professional, honest and informative Rep I have ever met. (Hes really patient, too ... I ask a lot of questions) Instead of trying to up-sell me, he actually gave me sound advice based on my future plans with my home. I got the perfect system to meet my needs at a great value. (Again, Ive collected MANY estimates over the past 6 months!)Installation was not rushed. These guys were here for the entire day. Again, very professional and informative. They took care to protect my home and property and even left it cleaner than it was when they arrived!!With the warranties provided, Im set for the rest of my life in this home. I cant say enough good things about Schmidt.Addenda: Oops! Forgot! The unit I purchased came with a programmable, not wifi, thermostat. They would swap it with a wifi thermostat for $300 (it must be gold plated or something). I opted to purchase my own which they would install but not warranty. K. Next day my unit was cycling every 5 minutes. I called and they sent someone out same day. It was the thermostat. Whether it was the thermostat itself or the way it was installed I will never know. But, he did put the old one back on for no charge. (I purchased a Nest and installed it myself the next day)

We needed a new air conditioning system because ours was over 15 years old. I decided to get several estimates from different companies here in San Antonio. Each company seemed to have outrageous prices and wanted to put me into something that was above what I needed. I decided to try one more company, Schmidt Mechanical. I went on their website early in the morning and filled out my information asking for someone to contact me. By the end of the same day, Jared was sitting at our table. I told him specifically what I wanted and what I did not want, since I had gained quite a bit of information from my interaction with other companies. We had a lot of fun sitting at the table and talking about many things, but when he put pen to paper, and gave us three choices of product, service, warranties, etc., we knew right away that Schmidt Mechanical was far superior to other companies in town. We sealed the deal and decided that the following Monday would be installation day. Keeping in mind, that would be one week from the day that we sat down and closed. The very next night, our old unit decided to call it quits and we still had six more nights to go until we get the new system. I called the after hours service line and they sent someone out by 10 o’clock that night, but unfortunately the unit couldn’t even carry electricity to be repaired. They didn’t even charge me for that service call. The next morning I called the company to ask if they had any suggestions on what we could do in the meantime. They put their heads together to come up with a solution. We were very thankful to Keith when he called to tell us they were able to rearrange schedules and carve out time in order to have our new AC unit installed two days later. The snow storm of the century killed my hvac. I filled out an online request on Sunday morning. Technician arrived by noon. He informed me of the problem with the unit and made recommendations. He contacted their system engineer and he came out Sunday evening, did a walk through to determine what was needed then presented me with 7 different options. Monday morning they sent a driver to Austin to pick up the new unit and had it installed by the time I got home from work!!! Amazing professional service! Needed a new air handler installed. I had some previous positive experience with Schmidt Mechanical group when they had done an annual tune up so I decided to call upon them for this project. They are first class. From the ladies that answer the phone - Autumn and Sarah, to the Sales Manager - Jared, and to Troy and the Technicians, they are all true professionals. My expectations were exceeded not only because of the timeliness, cleanliness, and of the product and installation itself, but because of their genuine care for the customer. After the installation was done, there was a minor issue. The issue had nothing to do with the new air handler but rather with the thermostats that I owned and how they were configured. I talked to Jared and Autumn and they quickly ensured that a technician return to get the situation taken cared of right away. Everything is working great and I couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend this company.

Received estimates for two homes from Jared. Very professional and informative. Great job. But had to change the 5 star to 2 star. Because they did not check drain line at installation time. Poor customer service from the owner. Payments jumped up beyond the original budget that was discussed. I used this company do install my Trane XV18 system. I have had nothing but problems with it, and this company has done very little to fix my problems. I spent over $17,000.00 for my system and paid them 1/2 up front and 1/2 upon completed. If I had known this system would not work, I would have told them to take it out. The saleman was nice but on the day of the install, we had a company called Winn Supply show up and install a system that I bought from Schmidt? Obviously, these guys dont even hire people who work for them. They must subcontract out their installs. I feel that if I pay so much for an install, I should at least have the company I paid my check to do the install! I went over to Winn Supplys office and spoke to one of the guys outside. He confirmed that yes they do subcontract work to Schmidt and they charge. If I would have known everything I know now, I would have purchased from another company. BECAREFUL WITH SCHMIDT MECHANICAL!!! Go spend your hard earned dollars with a company who stands by their product and install their own stuff! I am contacting TDLR and filing with the state as well as with the attorney general of Texas about the poor quality of service I received from this dishonest company!!!!!!

I just knew this go around I was going to have to break down and purchase a new AC unit. The owner sent their Senior Mechanic, Troy, to assess the situation. I could not be more pleased with the service Troy provided. He was honest and thorough. I will need to replace my outside unit at some point but for now there is still some life left in my current, 20 year old unit. Troy replaced a few parts and before long, cold air was blowing. Received reminders day prior to scheduled semi-annual maintenance visits and even a call asking if it was OK for him to arrive early.2. Thoroughness. I have used Schmidt Mechanical sine 2012 - so they have seen me through seasonal maintenance, replacements of thermostats and HVAC units, repairs on a weekend and of course - replacement of ducts under house due to enthusiastic urban raccoon population. They are knowledgeable, fair and trustworthy - they do not try to sell you something that is not necessary, but if you ask - they have good recommendations on what might make your system more efficient. First time home buyer and the AC finally gave us its first hiccup. It was a bit nerve racking but once I got in touch with Schmidt Mechanical my mind was at ease. They were very professional and fast acting. The technician was excellent and broke down what the issue was and made me feel comfortable doing business. I appreciate working with a straight forward company like this, definitely going to work with them in the future.

Had 3 different systems installed by them approx. 3 years ago for a total of approx $20k. I was quite happy with the install until the year later when they came for a maintenance call and started finding deficiencies in their own install. they wanted extra money to address those deficiencies. Now I am in the process of selling my home and an inspector has found a few items that need to be addressed and they will not even look at the report unless I schedule a $139.00 service call. Very poor customer service.. This company does not stand by their work and would not recommend.I am revising my review of this business from 1 to 5 stars. After my original review I was contacted by the companys service manager and he made sure that I was taken care off. I had a team of 3 technicians coming to my house to double check the system and make the necessary adjustments. I was very satisfied by their attention to details and professionalism.

I called Schmidt Mechanical to get a second opinion on duct work repairs and Im glad I did. Jared came out and did am assessment on our house and offered several options to fix out issue with certain rooms being hotter than others. They were able to rework a few runs and seal all the others. We werent completely satisfied at first but Schmidt sent a technician out and he was able to resolve our concerns. Again this was a second opinion and they saved us over $8,000 and completed work another company said couldnt be done. They definitely earned a customer for life and I was very impressed with their knowledge, professionalism, understanding, price and willingness to continue to come out until the job was done to 100% satisfaction. You dont often find companies like this so definitely refreshing when you do and to know they are not out to charge you for things you dont need.

Good value for my money. Was fortunate to get an earlier time than my scheduled visit offer from them. Very knowledgeable technician and explained everything clearly. Performed my scheduled maintenance and offered suggestions for additional repairs which we went ahead and made. Additional repairs were priced at industry standard price which was more than fair and we got a discount due to having purchased the platinum package before hand for yearly maintenance. Definitely a good call and more than recommend.

Had cooling problem last summer and thought ductwork needed upgrading. Turns out attic was severely lacking insulation. Jared did a great job of assessing the best solution. I got text messages that Albert and Alan would arrive around 9am. They made no mess, no noise and cleaned up after themselves with no critique needed. I am confident the home will be more comfortable this winer and next summer with the right solution. To finish the great story, they provided the paperwork to get a $445 rebate from CPS - what a great experience. Wish everyone took as good care in ensuring customer was satisfied.

Great service. Our A/C stopped blowing cold air on an early Monday morning. After many calls to other business, the earliest anyone could come to our home would be Tuesday afternoon.Not so with Schmidt Mechanical Group. They offered a time frame from 4-6 that day, arrived right at 4, with a 30 min ahead call and a picture of the tech being sent to my home.Courteous and respectful, the job was done quickly and we are now in a comfortably cooler home :) highly recommend.

I thought for sure this was going to cost me extra money but Alex eased my concerns and confirmed my air ducts were perfectly clean and I didn’t need to pay for a service I didn’t need. I also like that Shmidt’s sends you a notification with a photo of the technician taking the call. I’m very happy with the service provided! I’ll definitely use them for yearly maintenance.

Troy was amazing! He is very knowledgeable and honest. I called them out for a second opinion on my broken air conditioning unit, because the company that my home warranty sent out told me it needed a new compressor and several other parts that would cost me $3,600. Troy found the REAL problem, which was just a bad contact, and was able to fix it for 90% LESS! I bought a very expensive unit from Schmidt Mechanical two years ago. Three weeks ago, the indoor unit began leaking - yes, inside my house. Their service tech has been out approximately six times since then. The unit began leaking again over the weekend. I called them first thing this Monday morning and told them I needed them to come out AGAIN and that I also wanted their service manager, Ward, to call me. What did I get? Nothing. No call, no appointment, no service visit. Unit is still leaking. Wonder if the owner cares....

When we encountered additional issues later that day, they got a technician out same day to make sure we were back up and running.Because of character limits, I cannot leave my full review within Google Instead, youll find it in the attached images.TLDR: While the unit is currently cooling my house, my experience was less than stellar. I would not recommend ANYONE using this company.1. Work that was supposed to take 1 day has now reached 4+ days over the span of 3+ weeks.2. Work that did not pass San Antonio City inspection the first time for a major issue.They did not pull permits to replace our ductwork, hadnt laid down a wide enough catwalk, and placed the unit too close to the trusses of my attic, requiring that it be moved completely.3. A service manager (Ward) that asked if I was on my period because I was upset that the work did not pass inspection and that I would need to relocate for work for the 3rd time.4. When they came back to fix things, the service manager wanted to just cut my attic trusses rather than moving the unit. My husband had to encourage them to contact the city inspector to verify that this was okay. They informed them that they would need a structural engineer to sign off on this.5. Finding out that we had already been charged for the work days before anyone from Schmidt had come out to our home to fix the issues that the inspector found.6. Nearly 2 weeks after that *hopefully* final work had been performed, we still have not heard anything from Ward regarding the inspection and duct work test that needs to be completed for our duct work to pass inspection.

The technician that came was the best. Greg Thomas was extremely professional. He wore a mask & shoe coverings which I greatly appreciated do to the virus.Thank you again, Greg and Schmidt Electric for your great care of my A/C & Heater system.

Very few companies seem to understand the operation of mini-splits. Schmidt knows exactly what is needed each time. Always professional and courteous. Would recommend.

After doing extensive research on AC companies and getting estimates for a new AC system from four different companies, Im glad I chose Schmidt Mechanical Group. Whereas most AC companies Ive dealt with have complicated / confusing pricing schemes and their representatives are more of a sales reps as opposed to honest advisers, Schmidt Mechanical Groups representative was very thorough, professional, responsive, and simplified things to ensure I understood each product and cost. He provided me estimates for five different options. My neighbors recommended this company through our FB page and Im glad I hired them as my AC replacement and service provider. I truly believe this company to value integrity and felt the representative was very honest. Their honesty, value, and quality of work (they back this up) is what sealed the deal for me. The work was completed as advertised. Communication is very important and Schmidt Mechanical maintained me informed every step of the way. The only thing that I would encourage you to provide is a general spec sheet itemizing the work/inspection to be performed before the technician arrives. I appreciated the checklist with results after the work was completed and I am satisfied that all work performed for your $69.95 advertised A/C Tuneup!

I had the very best first impression from Shmidt Air Conditioning. Troy explained everything thoroughly and didnt try to sell me anything. Great job in making me feel you were out to take care of my A.C. and not take my money for something bogus I didnt need. I Will definitely be calling you back if anything happens to my A.C.

Very personable and knowledgeable and was able to catch a couple of items on a 5 year house in which the builder should have taken care of and advised me on exactly what to tell my builder the issue was and actually stuck around to have a phone call with them. He was absolutely correct and the builder is fixing items outside of the warranty.Thanks Billy.
