They did a good job of getting me to feel more excited about getting my aligners. Betty was super sweet and informative. She made the process easy and answered the questions I had before I asked them. Overall it was a good experience and I’m grateful they were close to me so that I could do the 3D scan. It was a bonus to see the pictures being taken of my teeth in real time. Super cool!

I worked with Betty!! She is the sweetest lady, I felt not only comfortable talking to her about what I want fixed/why I want it fixed but she made me feel excited for this change. CLASSIC FALSE ADVERTISING: While I’m excited to try my aligners and believe that the product is a good one, I’m writing this review to express my frustration and warn others about the sales process. The consultation is advertised as free and no-commitment, but when I finished my appointment I was informed that by attending the consultation I was committing to have my card (that I put down to “hold my spot”) charged for a $250 down payment as soon as I was approved for treatment. I asked multiple times if I could have some time to think about it and after several attempts to distract me with rehearsed, dramatic, robotic, high-pressure sales tactics, I was told that I could not take the weekend to think about my decision. I asked about the “free whitening kit” that is boldly advertised in the consultation emails, but was informed that you actually just receive one vial of whitening (and the lady admitted that one vial will not produce any results) to feel if you like the texture…. Seriously??? I wanted to try the product from the beginning, but am really turned off by sales process and am now strongly considering cancelling my subscription because I feel disrespected and taken advantage of.

I was asked a total of two questions throughout the entire pitch of which my replies were completely ignored. The responses Michelle gave were obviously rehearsed and came right from information that can easily be read on the SmileDirectClub website or printed literature rather than personalizing her approach to the human sitting right in front of her.I was never given the opportunity to ask any questions before being handed a tablet to input personal contact info as Michelle bolted from the room.Feeling fairly anxious about this initial experience, I was hesitant to continue and follow Michelle to the exam room to meet the next cog in the SmileDirectClub machine.After an awkward walk down the hall to the exam room, Michelle asking intrusive questions the entire time, I decided SmileDirectClub was not for me. At which point I made it clear their gimmicky sales approach was not winning my business and declined the exam.That afternoon I received an email requesting I reschedule the appointment I “cancelled” to avoid a $25 no-show fee. I neither cancelled nor no-showed. I was 20 minutes early to an appointment that caused me nothing but anxious frustration.Based on my experience I would not recommend SmileDirectClub, particularly the SLC SmileShop and would hope Michelle is given constructive coaching on question asking and listening.

Stole HUNDREDS almost thousands of dollars from me. My aligners were damaged when I recieved them, not even usable. No one was willing to help, I spent HOURS on the phone with people who did nothing but transfer me around. I finally dropped the entire box and all of the aligners off at this location, demanded a refund and to no longer be charged. I was assured that that would happen. ITS BEEN 2 YEARS and they are still charging me. I am currently talking to lawyers because this has been such a miserable experienceUPDATE: The response they left does to show how terrible the customer service is. My teeth were never damaged. The product I received was damaged and melted. Before I had even opened the box. They wont help you

I think the set up is very slick, easy to get started and the staff is very nice. The 3-D modeling technology was very impressive too. I think they could be more clear what a free consultation is though. I went to the website to learn more they pushed for an in-office visit for a free consultation. I wasn’t sure if their product was right for me or if I should even move forward with any procedure so I thought a consultation would be perfect. What they mean though is they want you to come in and set everything up to start your service right away...zero consulting happened. It’s a custom product but a one-size-fits all service if that makes sense. Everyone’s molds and frames come out different but there is one package regardless of how much or little work you need done. I have two teeth that are slightly out of place and it is the same process and price for me as it would be for someone with 10 teeth that need adjustment. Once my teeth were scanned and I could see how the product would work they asked me what payment plan I wanted, not if I’d like to go through with the service. I experienced zero consulting at my consultation and there actually is no interaction with a doctor or dentist. I had no professional opinion as to whether this would even be a good idea for me or how they would go about moving my teeth. Just sign up, we’ll bill you and you can talk with the doctors after you set everything up. Little backwards for a consultation but seems like a fantastic product.

The product sounds nice, but when I went in for a “free”consultation, they pressured me into starting the payment plan that day. I was debating between going through my regular orthodontist and them, but I didn’t like feeling pressured into something that I didn’t feel comfortable with. I didn’t speak to a doctor or dentist, and it felt strange. When I told the consultant about my doubts, she said something on the lines of “well you knew what you were coming in for” and I felt bad. This was a waste of time.

This is the review that matters to you, I can promise you that.I waited nine months to write it, because I wanted to see the results of my straightening before posting any kind of review.The reason for that decision is that, as you can see with the myriad other reviews on this establishment, their consultation is, start to finish, incredibly rehearsed and obviously gives a good first impression.While thats all fine and dandy, what really matters is the results. After nine months of straightening, my teeth are, well, mostly straight. This isnt braces-quality straightening, let me be the first to say. Thats also not to say its bad, either. Considering that I only wore these at night, and they were significantly cheaper than the braces alternative, not to mention I didnt have big metallic squares on my teeth for a year, I think it was well worth it. That being said, my teeth were fairly straight to begin with, so use caution if you have significantly less straight teeth.All in all, I would recommend SmileDirect, but please do not interpret this 4.9 star rating as a results-based rating. They directly ask you to rate them on Google for a rebate, and I believe this is shady business practice, because it does not reflect the true value of the product.

Don’t waste your money. See an orthodontist before you make your decision 10 out of 10 will tell you this isn’t a good idea. I regret buying this. It’s close to the cost of braces and doesn’t work. Your better off sticking to your orthodontist.

The receptionist at smile direct and the technicians who assisted me were not only knowledgeable but they were very patient and kind and had upbeat attitude in assisting me!

My experience so far, for the 3D imaging of my teeth was very nice. The directions to the place were easy to get to and to understand. I had to wait at the door and call a number for someone to come and get me. I forgot her name but she was very kind. She asked if I had a mask on and when she came down to get me, she took my temperature. I was happy knowing they are just taking the precautions for others and themselves. My dental assistant was Bethlehem (Betty) and she was so kind and sweet. She was very personable and made me feel extremely comfortable. The whole process took about 30 minutes and they were very efficient and informative. I hope I get to see Bethlehem and the lady who brought me up again.

I arrived on time but waited 40 minutes past my appointment time, and the person who helped me with my scan was extremely high pressure on trying to get me to put money down before I’d even decided whether or not I wanted to sign up. I’ve previously been told I wasn’t a candidate for aligners because of a bite problem, so I wanted to make sure I was even a candidate before I put any money down, and when I told her I wanted to wait until I was actually approved she basically told me I had wasted her time. She still would not let up and just kept showing me pictures of peoples before and afters and wouldn’t respect the fact that I wanted an actual orthodontist’s opinion, not just hers. I would honestly not recommend going into the shop to any of my family or friends. They’d be better off to just do the impressions and not have to deal with the pushy sales people.

Such an amazing consultation! Michelle ans Betty were so friendly and personable I almost wish I HAD to come back just so I could keep seeing them and checking in with them. It seriously felt like I was visiting some friends at their job who have been telling me “just come in it’s not that bad” ahah I don’t know why I didn’t do this sooner I KNOW THIS SOUNDS LIKE A PAID AD BUT ITS NOT they really were just that great! High five to whoever hired them for sure! I left my visit with a smile not because I’m finally on this path but literally my day was just brighter because of coming in and being provided such great service and information. All my questions were answered and THEY WERE NOT PUSHY when I said I couldn’t do the down payment option right away. My experience on my first visit was great! Had to stand outside the door and wait for them to come and open the door, I was provided a mask and they took my temperature. Great to see them being cautious. Talile was who did my 3D scan and it was really cool to watch the screen while she was scanning my teeth. She was very personable and was extremely friendly. Went to smile direct Club in Sugarhouse Utah.The staff was super friendly. Betty scanned my teeth. Really great experience in the office vs online.Highly recommend this location.One thing to keep in mind is yes you can take him out to eat, however you shouldnt eat or drink anything except for water when you have them in. Should have the liners on at least 22 hours a day.I am excited because this will help me drink more water, and less sugary drinks. Also wont be snacking between meals, due to needing to brush teeth and liners after each time you eat or drink. 😁

Had a great experience from the moment I stepped in the doors. The 3D scan was extremely easy and painless. Betty, the technician who helped me, was so friendly and nice. I scheduled the first morning appt opening and it seemed so rushed. Rep#1 was answering phone calls in the middle of me replying to her questions. She left the room I was in twice and during that time two other people arrived.... I was not ok with being in a small space with two others coming in the room. How were they to know they needed to wait in the other lounge area? I think a smoother introduction and less being frazzled and more care on protecting your customers during this time would go a LONG way. The actual visit with the dental hygienist went really great. Never saw an orthodontist. Also I requested night time alignment option but apparently not up to me.

The location and service was excellent until, the employee helping me never once change her gloves to conduct the scanning process. That was unsanitary. Who knows if they actually change the gloves with other clients.

From start to finish, my free 3d scan was simple, easy, and friendly. Even with having issues with my credit at the moment where I cant provide a debit or credit card, the staff came up with solutions in the form of suggesting I use a Visa gift card I can reload money into as a means to pay my monthly charges. Betty, the employee assisting me through the process, was phenomenal. She asked questions to get to know me, as well as what I was looking to do, she made the entire process feel like I was talking to someone who truly enjoys helping people. I had a really pleasant and easy experience with this company! Betty (Bethlehem) was the one that helped me and walked me through everything. She was really kind and helpful, and answered all the questions I had. I am currently waiting for my kit to come in the mail and so excited! These guys are a lot cheaper than braces, and the process was really simple and smooth!

I got Invisalign in July of 2019 and they told me my process would be complete by December 2019 in November I noticed my teeth weren’t moving(I was wearing them all day everyday) and I decided to reach out to them and I didn’t hear back from them until January which they then sent another set and It arrived in March. From March to April my teeth slightly shifted and I had to ask for another set which ended in June... it’s now November 2020 and I still have crooked teeth and a gap. Do not go through this company!

The staff at Smile Direct Club was great to work with both times i went in.However I would caution you when dealing with the Corporate side of Smile Direct Club. After my six months was completed, my bottom teeth were not where my smile plan said they would be. I went in for another consult and they determined that I needed a little more time to get my bottoms aligned. That was the end of October and we are now at the end of December and I havent seen the new liners. I paid for the retainers they recommend at the end of your plan, Ive never received them, and the communication from the Smile Direct corporate end, is pathetic.

Daisy was my smile guide and she was amazing! She asked me what I would like to see out of my smile and made me feel extremely comfortable. The pound is cozy and cute and all the staff is so incredible friendly! Awesome experience!

The location is a little bit hard to spot in the busy Sugarhouse area but there is parking available behind the building. The inside of the building is very nice, well lit and newly designed. The staff are friendly and informative. The 3D imaging is really cool. They scan your teeth with a handheld device and immediately you can see the image on the screen in front of you. This is a great option for those of us who had braces years ago and whose teeth have shifted over time.

I am 1 months in and I do see small changes which is great. HOWEVER, customer service is beyond terrible. Nobody knows what they are doing. I went from a payment plan to paying it off all at once but it took 4 emails and 3 phone calls that went to nowhere (nobody wanted my money I guess). I was so desperate that I ended up messaging them on Instagram!!! And thats how it got done. Then, I noticed that even though I paid in full, they charged me a monthly fee. Now I am back to emailing and calling back and forth but nobody is answering so far :( The ladies at Sugarhouse are nice though but it is just a plain headache and not as easy to contact SmileDirect as they make it seem to be.Edit: Changed to 1 star... Customer service got back to me and said that they cannot see that I paid off in full. I sent the receipt but haven’t heard back. Also, the aligners I am supposed to switch today are way off and customer service told me to “just file it in one direction”. Ok cool it’s way off and I cannot just file it with that nail filer you sent. Super frustrating. Wouldn’t do it again!

My husband and I had a great experience at Smile Direct Club. We did our 3D scan today and we are so excited to be doing this together! We both had braces when we were younger, but both of our teeth have shifted. This is something we have wanted to do for a while, but we definitely did not want to get braces as an adult. This whole treatment plan is brilliant and we can’t wait to receive our aligners!Betty was incredible, she was so friendly and very professional. It was a great experience at the Smile Direct Club. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and seemed genuinely interested in me. It was nice to know that I did not need to return to their facility and that a licensed dentist would evaluate my situation and develop a custom treatment plan just for me. I thought the price was reasonable, I could pay with my HSA, and I will receive all of my aligners in a single shipment. I do not mind wearing a night time retainer to maintain my teeths alignment after my four-month treatment, its just one extra step after my normal routine before bed. Straightening my teeth has been a wish of mine for several decades and now it is my turn to treat myself! 😁

SCAM!!!!! I started using SmileDirect because I never waned to wear braces. Well the first few months I felt like it was working, them my fillings started to pop out and the aligners were not fitting. I called and a rep sent me an email with solutions to make them fit better. None of these solutions worked. I decided not to keep wearing them and that I wanted a refund because I just paid a bunch of money to get my fillings done. Its been about 3-4 months now, I spoke with my case manager one time. She asked if I wanted a refund or new aligners. I stated a refund. Never heard back. I have emailed and let Voicemails for the Case Manager, no reply. I have sent emails in and reps reply telling me my case manager will call me. She has not. I called today to speak to her supervisor, waited on hold for about 30 minutes and got told the supervisor is in a meeting. AND they are coming after me for collections. SCAM SCAM SCAM

Flying in for my appointment was a bit challenging but the Smile Direct team were very accommodating. My appointment wasn’t rushed, the program was explained thoroughly and every question I had was answered complete! I appreciate having the scan to get my journey started!

I had a very positive experience at the Smile Club, once I finally got there. There was construction on the road that goes to the parking lot so it was closed and it took me forever to figure out how to get there. Shauna and Betti were super friendly. I was very impressed with the 3D scan. This is so much better than the orthodontist I have been to.

Everyone here was happy to help and answered all my questions almost before I could ask! I highly recommend a visit. It was easy and fast and I’m so excited to start my aligners!

Ive been trying to get in for a couple months now & something just kept coming up that prevented me from making my appointment but after making my appointment today - im SO excited! The appointment itself was super quick, simple and easy. The staff was very friendly, welcoming & informative. Im excited to receive my box with my future smile inside! :)

I’m not normally a person who takes ads seriously, but it’s something I’ve wanted for so long and just haven’t had the time or money to focus on what it takes to get a straight white smile. I took a chance, kept my appointment, and met several professional, knowledgeable, and approachable staff. Cameron was who was assigned to me, was super easy to talk to and was efficient in explaining the entire process. The company provides affordable options and I walked out of there super excited for my journey to confidence!

Drake was very helpful and informative. He answered all of my questions and explained everything very well. They didnt make me feel unconformable or anything. Definitely would recommend! So excited for my journey with smile direct club!

Great experience, very helpful and quick. Drake scanned my teeth and showed me that he was wearing the aligners too. That man deserves a raise he was just a great guy.

Fantastic experience! Daisy was awesome while talking my 3D imprint photos. They were very thorough and made sure all my questions were answered thoroughly and completely!

Update: I didn’t end up using this service for teeth straightening. I think they would be great if you needed a little touch up from not wearing retainers, etc. but I needed more than that and opted to not use this service. The facility I went to for the scan and evaluation is what the following review is for. *Great service, nice facilities and no pushy salespeople. Just helpful and informative. I highly recommend. Can’t say about the aligners themselves but the service here was fantastic.
