Terrible customer serviceAfter calling five times, I was unable to get anyone on the phone so I decided to go to the office. A man arrived without even saying hello and looked in a very bad mood. I kindly said that I was trying to reach them over the phone and he simply answered “yes we’re busy”. So I simply said goodbye and left.

Today, I had a very horrible experience with Dr.Cho. I watched him swearing and yelling and his employee, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!He numbed my mouth and stopped working on my teeth, that were being redone, because of poor quality of work. Left the office in a rage! I will not be going back again! The anger I witnessed today, all because, his assistant hadnt told me to relax my tongue....Very sad......

Covid is Real! I got infected and quarantined at my home. Fortunately, due to my health and with the use of hydrogen peroxide as a nasal spray as well as an oral rinse helped me.I’m feeling better, hydrogen peroxide helped me in my recovery. I would also like to mention, due to lack of information on tv and radio it is helpful that all healthcare professionals are aiding in trying to tackle this virus.

At first I liked Dr. Cho. His pricing seemed fair and he was friendly. Then he made and put on a crown for me. It has fallen off about 8 times. Horrible! Now Im having to pay a different dentist to fix it. I have another crown that a different dentist put in and it has lasted 9 years -zero problems. He is extremely rude to his staff that hes training. Hes impatient and continually talks down to them. It makes everyone feel VERY uncomfortable.Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!!

This is the first review that I have ever written, but I feel it is important to let people know what my experience at Smile Dental Studio entailed. I am new to the area and booked an appointment at Smile Dental because it was covered under my health insurance plan. I was appalled by how unprofessional and “scammy” the entire experience felt. I was at the office for 1.5 hours and did not get a cleaning or a dental exam, yet my insurance was billed $325. When I arrived, the front desk employee had me brush my own teeth with hydrogen peroxide. Then, Dr. Cho proceeded to give me an hour long lecture on COVID and how the virus acts on the mucus membrane. I am not irritated that he provided a lesson on COVID- in fact, I do think it is important for medical professionals to spread awareness about the virus. However, I am irritated that it took the entire appointment and that I was charged for it. After lecturing me on COVID, Dr. Cho told me that I should be spraying hydrogen peroxide up my nose, and handed me a spray bottle of a diluted hydrogen peroxide solution to do so. After my appointment, I called my primary care physician, who informed me to NEVER spray hydrogen peroxide up your nose. Needless to say, I threw the spray bottle out immediately. After an hour of COVID talk, Dr. Cho informed me that there was no time left for my cleaning, and that I would have to come back to do that. He also never gave a full dental exam. He took X-rays, and then looked at a single tooth, and that was the extent of his “exam”. However, despite not getting a cleaning OR a dental exam, I left with a $325 bill to my insurance, and a $30 in-office charge to me. I was told that this $30 was a copay, but then my insurance company later told me that Smile Dental has charged me for their PPE. I understand that COVID will change the way medical visits go, but I feel that Smile Dental Studio used it as an excuse to make money off patients, without providing any real dental care. I felt scammed. For the record, when I called Smile Dental after the appointment to cancel my next appointment and request a refund for the $30 that I should not have been charged, they immediately refunded me and tried to brush it under the rug. I suspect this is not the first time they have been busted charging every single patient $30 for the mask that Dr. Cho wore, which as a dentist, he would be wearing whether or not COVID was a thing. While I am relieved and appreciative that the refund was granted, I am unfortunately unable to go to another dentist for my cleaning and exam (that I never got at Smile Dental Studio) because my insurance only allows for one free cleaning and exam a year. I will now have to pay $150 elsewhere for what I intended to get out of a dentist appointment in the first place.

I visit Salt Lake City twice a year for work - a huge trade show that is very important to our business. Needless to say, I have to look my very best, including my smile! I arrived in Salt Lake City on a Tuesday afternoon and got my booth set up for the show, we left around 3:30 or 4:00 pm - and thats when the unfortunate happened. My front lower tooth, that had a filling on it, broke off! I was in a panic! I could not see clients the following day at the trade show with a broken tooth! Not to mention how uncomfortable it was! I called all the dentists that I could find, no one could help! The only dentist willing to repair my tooth, last minute, at 4:30pm was Denny. A miracle!Denny worked on my tooth for at least a hour - making sure that the fill on the tooth would not come off again, he spent lots of time making sure that the filling was comfortable and that my bite would be correct. I was so happy, and the work he did was better than my dentist at home. I was in their office until 6:30pm - and the best part, they didnt even charge me a emergency appointment fee.If thats not quality care and amazing customer service than I dont know what is! If you are looking for an awesome dentist that cares about your teeth and has an amazing staff and excellent customer service visit Smile Dental Studio in SLC.

Hi, Ive been a loyal patient to Smile Dental Studio for years.. although my life has been pretty bumpy until recently; going in between jobs / having no dental insurance, Dr. Cho has been more than accommodating in every way I could think of.. between the discounted services for uninsured patients, and the help getting my new insurance set up with him once I finally landed a job with insurance-- it was always like he was going the extra mile to help out. He even visited me at my job and we talked while his pizza was cooking. Its been a great run so far and I plan on coming back for years and years to come.Regarding the other reviews on here, I notice its very polar as to the patients personal experiences. When it comes to personalities Dr. Cho has always had a strong one. I have spoken to him many times about life outside of dentristy and work, and his story has always been more compelling and unique compared to other dentists. You see he has come a long ways in life not just in dentistry. And his credentials will prove that. He knows the ins-&-outs of every part of the mouth so much that it is very noticeable in his tone. I think if youve read this far already you could imagine, Dr.Cho doesnt like to waste time. If you are destroying your teeth with bad habits, he will not be afraid to speak up.So long story short: if you want a dentist that will give you the basic required work and possibly not even do a good job in the process (and probably brush a lot of other necessary things under the rug- as to not *offend you or your loved ones) you can try another dentist. But if you want quality work that is backed by decades of experience and a family dedicated to the industry, give Denny Cho a try.He even does volunteer work for children and patients in unfortunate situations all across the nation, and also attends dental conventions to learn the latest on dental technologies and practices; regularly!

Dr. Cho lacked professionalism. My wife went here and he asked her what her religion was and proceeded to make negative comments about it throughout the whole appointment. She also perceived his nutritional counseling to be very judgmental. She felt he assumed she ate unhealthy, even after explaining to him that she do not. (She has a degree in exercise and wellness and was a health coach). She was later charged for nutrition counseling. Do not go here.

Summary: Dr Cho is rude, judgmental, and unprofessional. Please do not bring your business to Smile Dental Studio.I am a current, long term patient of Dr Chos at Smile Dental Studio in Foothill Village. This review refers to a visit on 8/19/19.While not exclusively a pediatric dental practice, Smile Dental Studio does advertise pediatric dentistry on their website. So I felt comfortable taking my four-year-old son for his cleanings and other appointments. But it was a mistake to take him here when he needed fillings. On their website Smile Dental Studio claims Each member of our dental team is caring and gentle, and we are certain to put your child at ease. We understand that it is important to build a positive, trusting relationship between your child and the dentist at a young age, and we are dedicated to ensuring that your child feels comfortable and safe at our office. I however experienced just the opposite. While we waited, Dr Cho loudly had a very personal phone conversation regarding troubling business and family issues. I felt quite uncomfortable hearing what he was discussing. He was obviously very upset and stressed. I wonder if he shouldve taken the day off.Things went okay for two bottom fillings, but when Dr Cho started working on the top filling, my young son started to get nervous and agitated. The situation was stressful and frustrating, and the negativity was only exacerbated by Dr Chos actions.Dr Cho yelled at my four-year-old for crying and moving, telling him he was worse than a two-year-old. He sternly pointed out that it was my sons own fault he was in pain because he ate candy. He proceeded to rudely lecture us about brushing, flossing and not eating snacks or fast food, even though our dental routine and eating habits are actually really great. There is a real judgmental and accusatory undertone to everything Dr Cho says.Dr Cho then tried to scare my son by telling him if he really wanted to feel pain, he should just leave his teeth and not get them fixed. He actually Googled rotten teeth and showed my son the photos. The scare tactic of course only escalated things. When I tried to calm my child down, Dr Cho told me to stop talking.Dr Cho accused my son of faking his crying, saying he was just trying to manipulate us. He told me the crying was a learned behavior and that I was to blame for giving in to the crying, comparing me to parents who buy their kids toys when they throw a fit at Wal-Mart. How arrogant and out of line for my dentist to question my parenting abilities!Dr Cho angrily told my son that other patients were waiting and that there was a baby asleep in the back that would wake up (??)Dr Cho twice had the dental assistant turn off the show my son was watching because he didnt deserve it. Dr Cho shouted across the clinic that my son didnt get a prize since prizes are only for good kids who dont cry.Its not really possible to leave in the middle of a dental procedure, so I endured, trying to keep the peace and diffuse the situation. I was glad when Dr Cho just hastily filled the tooth, stormed off and thrusted a referral to a pediatric dentist toward me.Ive been a patient at Smile Dental Studio for many years and have awkwardly sat through procedures where Dr Cho yelled at dental assistants. I brushed it off, thinking he just liked things a certain way and had a rough training style. But when the berating is aimed at his clients (especially a young child), thats a bigger problem. I do think Dr Cho is going through some personal issues, but thats no excuse to take his frustrations out on my four-year-old and me.There are so many dentists in Utah that there is no need to support one this unprofessional. I am excited to move my business to another dentist so I no longer need to listen to Dr. Cho lecture me about how not being vegan is ruining my teeth (seriously).

I had a severely infected tooth, it was so painful I rather give birth with no epidural again before I ever have a tooth that bad, yet Dr Cho was so great at actually fixing my tooth when I thought it to be a lost cause and would need to be pulled.. extremely knowledgeable and caring and took the extra time required to fix it... I hate going to the dentist as it is yet I look forward to going to get my other tooth fixed ASAP. Dr Cho and his staff are beyond fair, honest and I am so happy I found them!!

I agree with all the 5-star reviews! I have been in twice and each time was very smooth and informative. In addition to being a great dentist, Dr. Cho is very nice and friendly. Other good things were: no waiting time when I got there, up-to-date technology (digital x-rays, video feed on the computer screen, and the option of watching Netflix while the work is being done), perfect understanding of my insurance, and friendly staff. I will definitely go back!

Wonderful practice. Dr Cho is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, personable & honest. I recently moved to SL & was reluctant to change dentists, also my teeth are high maintenance with numerous crowns, implants, etc. Fortunately, I found Dr Cho & his staff! Latest technology -I had a new crown crown within several hours; previously a crown took 3 appointments & 3 weeks to complete. I also learned how diet affects my teeth! Thanks so much for your help.Mary D.

I was having dental pain and called after hours, they happened to pick up and got me in for a after hours appointment for a extra $200.00 totally worth it. I have pretty severe dental anxiety and must say this was the least distressing experience Ive had in years. They have a tv on the ceiling which goes a long way with a root canal. Also, the bed side manner was confident and also kind.

There are things you should know before seeing Dr. Cho. 1- as a standard practice, they give xrays every 6 months. I didnt realize this, and had to stop them from automatically giving my 11 year old xrays. He had them 6 months prior, and they didnt ask me for permission and billed me for 2 xrays although I stopped them after 1. 2- They dont have laughing gas. If you need it, too bad. He does give shots that arent painful, but no gas. 3- They billed my insurance for nutrition counseling for $50, for each of us, although we never discussed any dietary habits at the appointment and I was not asked about this charge. I saw this on my insurance bill, and am awaiting to see if they try to bill this to me. I have a feeling this was an attempt for insurance fraud, but it was billing for a service I never requested or received. I tried to write the review as a warning, these are things you can directly ask them about and be an informed consumer. I was a client for 1 year, and dont feel I can trust them so I recently found another dentist.

Dr. Cho is AMAZING! This was my first time in his office, my husband has been going there for years and telling me I need to go but I was stuck with my same dentist- what a mistake. I broke a tooth another dentist had worked on over a year ago and Dr. Cho fixed it, that day, made a new tooth and everything. This was the first time I have been awake and received a shot in my mouth, I was terrified...for no reason!! Dr. Cho pinched my cheek and I didnt feel the shot at all- no lie. I would refer Dr. Cho to anyone and everyone! What a great dentist I have found! The technicians were nice and friendly and made me feel very welcome and comfortable.
